My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our “Best of Barcelona tour“ on Sunday, November 1, 2026. What made the tour enjoyable was the knowledge and friendliest of our guide, Nilo. Her knowledge of the neighborhoods and her personal folder with the many pictures and illustrations of the sites were visiting made it easy to understand the site she was explaining to us. We were impressed with her knowledge of the Old City, the Gotha Quarter, Sagrada Familia, Casa Batllo, Casa Mia and Park Guell. Nilo was extremely friendly and made our tour something to remember. We highly recommend that you request Nilo as your guide when book with Viator.

Itinerary
Start this tour directly from your hotel. Your driver-guide will pick you up in our minivan, so be sure to let us know exactly where you are staying. Enjoy an overview of Barcelona along the route and pass by Plaça de Catalunya, the main square of the city centre.
Head to the Montjuic Mountain to enjoy great views of the city from top. Your passionate driver-guide will show you the Olympic facilities constructed for the 1992 Barcelona Games, such as the Olympic Stadium and the Palau Sant Jordi. Pass by the Miró Foundation and relax from the hustle and bustle of the city in one of the splendid gardens of the hill.
Since the 17th century, the Montjuic Castle towers over the Barcelona city. Nowadays the castle hosts a military museum and offers one of the best views to Barcelona.
Continue your comfortable visit of the city heading to Barcelona’s waterfront, passing by well renowned citysights, such as the must-visit Las Ramblas, the Boqueria Market, the Columbus Monument, the Museum of History of Catalonia and the splendid Old Port of Barcelona.
Continue the day with a walking tour of the medieval Old Town, where the history of Barcelona began. Explore its narrow alleys and hidden squares, from Plaça Sant Jaume, home to the City Hall and the Catalan government, to the medieval Plaça del Rei and the Gothic Cathedral, and walk through the Jewish Quarter, one of the oldest and best-preserved areas of the city.
Get back on the road and drive through the Eixample district, designed by Ildefons Cerdà in 1859 to expand the city. Along Passeig de Gràcia, admire the finest modernist façades, including Gaudí’s La Pedrera and Casa Batlló, Domènech i Montaner’s Casa Lleó Morera and Puig i Cadafalch’s Casa Amatller.
One of the most famous landmarks in Barcelona, Casa Battlo offers a unique sight to its visitors. The building is one of the main symbols of the Catalan Modernism.
A modernist example by Antoni Gaudi, that takes place on the Modernist route of Barcelona. Your guide will tell you stories about the architect and how he influenced the Catalan Modernism.
The life project of a genius or a fool, with no doubts the Sagrada Familia will leave a lifelong impression. Experience a moment full of emotion, admiring Gaudi's masterpiece, considered as the most emblematic landmark of Barcelona. There are no words to describe the feeling one gets when entering this magnificent temple of Modernism. The organic shapes found throughout its structure, the light filtering through its stained glass windows and the symbolic nature of the building’s sculpted facade will certainly be the highlight of your tour.
Finish your day tour with great views of Barcelona on one of the most privileged hills of the city: Park Güell, based above the charming, bohemian neighborhood of Gràcia, will welcome you with its organic forms, profoundly in respect with nature. You will discover slender alleys with undulating forms, like rivers of molten lava, which are covered by columns shaped like trees, stalactites and other geometric shapes.

We had a wonderful time exploring Barcelona's must-see sights with Alina as our guide. Our family of eight, along with other guests, walked through the Gothic Quarter, took in the views from Montjuïc, went inside the Sagrada Família, and finished at Park Güell. We were picked up and dropped off near our Airbnb on time. It was a full day, but Alina sequenced everything so efficiently that we made the most of our limited time. Her humor kept the whole group entertained from one stop to the next. Thank you!
I had a great time ‘in out Barcelona tour’ is the best. Matt was amazing. As someone who travelled solo, I didn’t feel left out.
Tatiana was a great guide. She gave a lot of information on all the places we visited. She also walked at a reasonable pace so older people like me could keep up. Sagrada Família was amazing. By the time we got to Park Guell, we were really tired. I thought the entrance fee for Park Guell was way too high.
This was the best tour we have taken. Omid our guide was very knowledgeable. He told us to trust him and he did not disappoint. It was a wonderful day exploring Barcelona.
Great day trip that included a lot of beautiful stops. All stops had time well spent and our guide was very knowledgeable. Bring water for the ride, if coming from Lisbon it is approximately 1 hr 30 mins.
f you have just one day in Barcelona, then this is absolutely the best trip you can take. And any tour like is a good guide can make it that much more interesting- and we got the absolute best with Hengameh Ghanavati! It started with a stop at the Gothic Quarter, a walking tour of the medieval old town of Barcelona; and stops at Montjuic mountain to take in breathtaking views of Barcelona; a stop at Sagrada Familia and then at in Park Guell. Hengameh brings history to life! She’s very knowledgeable - after all she just completed a PhD in tourism- but more than that, she’s a great storyteller and brings history to life! Can’t recommend her and this tour enough!
great experience despite the super heavy rain in the morning. The guild Omid is very knowledgeble. Recommended
Alberto was our tour guide. He was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about Sagrada Familia and all of Berlin. The Sagrada was overwhelmingly beautiful and massive. You could be in there for hours. This is a must see site if you visit Barcelona. We stopped for a late lunch at our own expense. Bring snacks because it is a long day.
Mai was a tremendous guide. Tough day with the rainstorm but she was patient and gave us information and humor
We had an amazing day. Our tour guide Stephanie was extremely knowledgeable and could not be more Pleasant. We highly recommend this tour with Stephanie as the guide.
Omid, our guide and Luz, our driver were fantastic. Despite the unforseen Catalonia Day activities and demonstrations Omid met us as planned, a 3 minute walk from hotel. The sights and information were excellent-- walking tour of the Old Town, Sagrada Familia, and PA e c Guell. Omid provided fascinating insight and information. Luz navigated us all safely through crowded streets and the numerous celebrations. Highly recommend this tour!
It was an ok tour. Requires alot of walking, it was just a hot day. Tour guide was nice and he explained alot of information
Fantastic tour! David was an excellent guide so informative and made the tour personal!
Pablo was excellent! He was informative, helpful , flexible and fun to be with. He was very precisely on time with a clean cool vehicle and he did everything we asked of him. We did not want all day so I told him what we wanted to see and have a lunch and be back by 3 and he did it! Amazing and fun 6 hours with a really smart and fun guide. Ask for Pablo!!
It was an excellent tour. David was a very knowledgeable guide and such a nice person. He took very good care of us and was extremely informative…a great guide!
Our guide was Tatiana and driver Alberto. They took great care of us making sure to preview what was next and helping us to maneuver the sites in a timely manner. We were able to enjoy each stop with our family and take plenty of pictures, take water breaks and truly enjoy ourselves through the entire day. We learned so much about Barcelona, the culture and our favorite architect Antoni Gaudi. We are foodies so we also appreciated all the food advice along the way. So very glad we went on this small group tour and did not try to brave this on our own. So worth every dollar spent! Would highly recommend.
Alberto was a great guide, a real vast wealth of knowledge of the city of Barcelona and the history behind it, with no detail spared. I couldn’t recommend this more. The whole thing was mesmerising especially the architecture! What a man Antonio Gaudí was! And of course Alberto! Phenomenal!
Great way to see Barcelona in a short time. Our tour guide Omid was amazing. So knowledgeable and great tips to ensure we made the most of our time. Highly recommend
The tour was great and Anna was terrific: very informative. She new a lot about local architecture and history of the local regions
We had a wonderful experience with this tour. Our tour guide” Roberto” was courteous, sincere to everyone on the tour, very knowledgeable about the tour and the history of the city, and we want to say that it was Roberto that made this tour to be a great one.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The church is stunningly beautiful, and hearing about Gaudi’s inspirations and some of the background and history of the design and build was fascinating.
Liana showed us around Barcelona and helped us into Park Guell and la familia sagrada. Everything went exceptionally smoothly and we thoroughly enjoyed and recommend this tour with Liana.
David did a great job leading us on a walking tour of the Goth district in old Barcelona where we visited Roman ruins, an incredible food market, and the best churros in town! We also visited inside La Sagrada Familia, which is not to be missed!
Pablo was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Gave us one of the best tours I have ever taken. He is an asset to your organization.
We really enjoyed this tour! Liana was friendly, and very knowledgeable. Sagrada Família was closed (due to a private event), so she made up for it by taking us to Sacred Heart church (top of a mountain). It was gorgeous. The walk through Park Guell was beautiful too.
This was a great tour! It was raining lightly most of the day. Our guide Baggio kept us moving and kept us as dry as possible. Baggio was very knowledgeable about the area. He showed us many interesting places. This was a great way to see the highlights of Barcelona!
Wonderful tour, however with large crowds at the cathedral, Greatthe time for inside tour with the APP should be extended by additional half hour instead of just one hour. It’s not possible to visit the 9 sites in that time frame. We had to skip two so we could be on time.
Because of our limited time in Barcelona we decided to take a full day and private tour. Montse is a very enthusiastic and knowledgeable local guide. She provided in-depth information regarding all the stops we made. Although a day is not nearly enough to discover Barcelona it was a good start. We had an amazing day with her. I definitely recommend the tour and Montse as a guide.
Giovanni was an excellent tour guide, very informative and interesting to listen to, It was a perfect amount of time to see the sights.
This trip was really good, even though you are on a coach there is quite a bit of walking too, fine for us but felt a few people struggled with this. The guide marlon was really good, not his native city but still very informative. Very patient curtious young man.
Vincent was a great guide for the day! We only had one full day in Barcelona so we opted to schedule a private day tour. It was an excellent choice. He knew where to take us for a fantastic view and provide a rich overview of the city in a conversation format rather than a rote “guide’s” lecture. He knows the city well including great driving skills. Then, it was off to a walking visit of incredible sites mixed with great conversation and historical interest. We walked the Gothic district and stopped for treats. We drove to the neighborhood of Sagrada Família - walking the area, getting lunch and then a visit on our own to the Cathedral. Vincent didn’t need to visit with us. He picked the perfect time for our visit as we watched the sunlight through the incredible stain-glass windows turn the cathedral into a magical organic other-worldly experience - “sunset in Muir Woods” that needed no words. We finished our wonderful day at Park Quell - another Gaudi creation and an opportunity to people-watch, experience Gaudi’s brillant design, and reflect on a prefect day!
Our tour guide was awful. It was nice to learn about history but he went very heavy on it, kind of boring. Wherever our tour didn’t include the tickets to Sagrada Familia, or monjuik park, he decided to charge both. Even though he has all our information, mean credit card, he decided to came to the hotel, and make a seem, claiming we didn’t want to pay. He were looking for cash, it was awful, out of the line! He didn’t explain much about sagrada familia neither, because he set up an an app to every one. Very disappointing.
Nilo was amazing!!! She greeted us with a very warm welcome and smile and we knew we were in for a great day!! Saw all the “best” of Barcelona and Nilo was a wealth of information and stories, making the day one not to forget.
It was wonderful, our guild Titianna and Umberto were absolutely the best. They showed us so many sights, that you wouldn't know about.
Very informative and knowledgeable. Tour guide very knowledgeable. Stephanie is easy to work with. I really enjoyed her tour.
We booked a private tour for 10 of us Ane was one of the best tour guides i have ever had. She was professional, yet fun. A wonderful personality, respected our wishes and needs. She had an infectious smile that brought joy to our very jet-lagged bodies She was extremely knowledgable of the city, culture, and history I wish we could have brought her on the rest of our trip
Wonderful tour! Great tour guide and the best of Barcelona! My favorite tour was the Sagrada Familia basilica.
Can’t thank Ane enough for being the best tour guide . We did a private tour with 10 people and spent over 8 hours touring the city. The tour was great and Ane’s commentary and insights really gave us a taste of the city. Can’t thank her and driver George enough
Ane was our delightfully energetic and informed Barcelona tour guide who took the time to get to know us, answer our questions, and include us in good natured discussions sprinkled with humor. Her love for Barcelona was contagious as she talked in great detail about history, architecture, and customs. George, our driver, made travel, drop offs and pick ups seamlessly stress free. We spent a lovely day with them and came away with an appreciation and understanding of Barcelona and its people. I highly recommend this tour.
Itinerary was excellent. Our driver and guide were fantastic. Worth every bit of the cost. History of all the sights were very well explained. The Guide made sure we were well taken care of as far as meeting points and timelines.
Our tour guide and driver made everything very comfortable! Everything was planned and we learned a LOT about Barcelona! The Cathedral was breathtaking! We loved all the views and seeing the difference parts of the city!! Thank you SO much, Katty and Juan Carlos!!!
This was our first private tour with Viator. We have had several others with Tours by Locals. This was a different experience. Our guide,Vincent, was very knowledgeable and passionate about Barcelona. Based on our past experiences, we had thought we would have input in the itinerary but that was not the case. When we asked about going to the war museum, he advised us that he didn't go to war memorials or museums because they made him sad and it wasn't part of the tour. He showed us the sights listed which were very nice and then would proceed to walk 10 to 12 feet ahead of us to the next site. He was on his phone texting or talking frequently between stops. When we went to the Sagrada Familia and he needed to send us the tickets, he was not happy that we didn't have the WhatsApp to transfer the tickets. He was adamant that we should have had it. I advised him that had we known ahead of time we would have activated it as we had used in past trips to Europe. We had told him earlier that we would not be able to go to the Park Guell due to the steps. After the Bastille, we had lunch and asked if we could drive by the Park. It was around 2:45 and his initial response was it would take too much time even though there were 2 more hours left in our allotted tour. He took us to the back entrance, the guards at the entrance said we would have a better view if we went to the front entrance. When asked if we could that, Vincent said it be too hard. We got back to the hotel at 3:30. The lack of flexibility and any interpersonal interaction for majority of the tour were disappointing. The sights and history shared were very good. In the past, we have enjoyed having more interaction with our guides to learn more about the city than just the specific sites. We got the facts at each site and little else. Good itinerary... would have liked more than a scripted description and more interpersonal interaction.
Ane was an absolute delight on our first Barcelona family tour! Ane informatively and enthusiastically introduced us to iconic architectural points of interest and shared unique historic tidbits making the walking tour engaging and lively. She handled the limited-attention spans of our 7 and 9-yo kids with ease and joined us on our post-tour lunch. Ane is a gem and a wonderful guide to the grandeur of Barcelona!
Wonderful day tour of Barcelona. Adrian, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable, professional and very attentive to us and our questions. I will personally request him for our next Barcelona visit!! The tour concluded with a tour of La Sagrada Familia and Park Guell. I suggest to include tickets to both…
Excellent tour provided by Omid, very knowledgeable about the area and gave lots of insights and details.
Great tour….our guide Tatiana was very knowledgeable and humorous. She made the tour enjoyable from start to finish! Highly recommend.
Ane is an animated and knowledgeable guide. She is good with all kinds of people - from young children to old men like me. I enjoyed getting her perspective on things and highly recommend her services as a Barcelona guide.
What a wonderful day enjoying the culture and sights. Omid was very educational and informative. Highly recommend him
I can’t say enough good things about our Viator tour and our guide, David, in Barcelona! David was so informative throughout the whole day! And, while he pointed out various points of interest along the way, he also had answers for all our questions. We didn’t just get a “pre-set/rote” routine of Barcelona facts. He was engaging and funny, not joke funny, just little quips now and again :) David was professional and a gentleman at all times. He arrived right on time and kept us on a schedule to see all that we had planned on, all while being very accommodating to the two older family members we had with us. He let them set the walking pace and chose routes that would be less hilly and difficult since one of them had a cane and the other had a rolling walker. He also provided options when possible for the two more active in our group to take an alternate route to see more and meet back up with the ones who needed a shorter, less challenging path. He was truly caring and helpful all day., even allowing for a quick stop to satisfy my mother’s sweet tooth! We all learned a great deal about Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, and all of Barcelona. We enjoyed the delicious restaurant he took us to for lunch. The family owned, local place offered a variety for even our picky eaters to find things they liked. We couldn’t have requested a better guide on this trip! The only two hiccups we had did not overly impact our trip. Based on the trip advertised, we expected a van for transport which may have provided for better viewing and picture taking while touring around the city, but the mid-size car we had was clean and did get us around just fine, even squeezing into a very small, but much closer parking space :). There was initially a problem with the tickets we were given to enter Sagrada Familia not being accepted, but a quick call to David and thank goodness for technology, we had new ones within a few minutes and proceeded to see the magnificent Bacilica! David made our visit to Barcelona memorable, including the photos he took of all of us throughout the day. It was like having a guide, a chauffeur, and personal photographer all in one!! We would recommend Viator and specifically, David, to anyone visiting Barcelona.
