Barcelona Side Streets Small-group Food Tour With Wine & Cava

Shane was a consummate historian of Catalan gastronomy, whose tour took us “one block off the beaten path” to hidden neighborhood gems for the classic flavors of Barcelona, as enjoyed by the locals. We ate delicious food, drank local wines and vermouth, and learned a tremendous amount about the history of Barcelona and Spain. Shane has a pleasant demeanor and a background as a student of culinary and general history, and of years preparing food and working in the restaurant industry. This made for a most interesting and delicious tour which was not impeded by a rainy evening. I can highly recommend this tour!

Our guide Marc was fantastic. Along with the food came a history lesson. We visited the Gothic Quarter, El Born and Barceloneta. All great stops and the tasting were fantastic. A lot of food some go hungry.

Eating Europe never disappoints. This is not the first Torr that my wife and I have done with them. It was the first time for our friends.We had a private group of eight, 4 couples. Shane is an outstanding guide. Super knowledgeable. As always, lots of information and cultural education. Also, as always, the food is outstanding, and these are restaurants that we would never find on our own. Highly, highly, highly recommend.

I have to start by giving a huge shoutout to Shane, who was an exceptional guide from start to finish! His knowledge of Barcelona’s history, local culture, and cuisine was second to none. He did an incredible job weaving everything together, turning what could have been a simple food tour into a truly memorable experience. The food stops were equally impressive! Every stop offered delicious, authentic Catalan cuisine packed with flavor, and the drinks were fantastic as well. Beyond the incredible food, the entire experience felt like an excellent value for the money. If you’re visiting Barcelona and want to experience the city through its food, history, and culture, this tour is an absolute must. I cannot recommend it highly enough, especially with Shane as your guide!

Excellent walking food tour. Guide Lindsey was outstanding, and all of the locations and food were great. My mom has a slow pace, but had no trouble keeping up.

Shane was an amazing host, it felt like meeting up with a friend and having them show you around the city while chatting, it never felt too formal or structured. He was so passionate about the history and culture of each location and dish, each story making the dish a better and more wholesome experience.

Amazing tour filled with not only historical facts but also the history of the foods as well. The stops were amazing, the food was delicious and perfect way to try something new. The drinks were perfect as well. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. I want to do this in every city!

The only hiccup was the tour was moved from thr original time we had booked it but it still worked out and the communication was done well in advance.

Shane was an incredible tour guide! Not only was the food amazing, but Shane cares passionately about the history of the food and city. I asked him if he had ever been a history teacher because of how well spoken and passionate he is about both. I definitely recommend taking this tour and requesting Shane specifically! We went to four stops and 3/4 had wine or another cocktail. Definitely worth the time and money to see hidden gems around the city.

We took this food tour this week and it was honestly one of the highlights of our trip. If you get Shane as your guide, you are in for a great time. Shane knows the local food scene inside and out. He didn’t just hand us a plate and list the ingredients; he explained the actual history behind the neighborhoods and how the regional cuisine evolved over the years. I learned more about the culture in a three-hour walk with him than I did reading up before the trip. What really made the afternoon stand out was just how much Shane genuinely loves what he does. You can tell he has a real connection to the local vendors and restaurant owners—everyone smiled when we walked in the door. He lights up when talking about the background of his favorite spots, and his enthusiasm is completely contagious. The food was fantastic and the portions were generous, but Shane is the reason we'll be telling anyone visiting the area to book this specific tour. Highly recommend.
