Emma gave good information to coordinate our meet up. She was very approachable, made us comfortable right away. The tour itself was organized and informative without being rigid. A perfect introduction to Barcelona and a great way to power through jet lag on our first day.

Itinerary
We begin at the remains of the Roman walls and aqueduct, where Barcelona’s story first began. These stones mark the city’s foundation as Barcino, a Roman settlement that grew into the vibrant metropolis we know today.
This Gothic-Renaissance gem, once the home of an archdeacon, now houses the city’s archives. Don’t miss its famous modernist mailbox, designed by Domènech i Montaner, with symbolic motifs of swallows and turtles.
The majestic Gothic Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia towers over the heart of the city. Step inside to admire its soaring nave, stunning stained glass, and the cloister, home to 13 resident white geese.
A unique museum created by the sculptor and collector Frederic Marès. Beyond sculptures, it houses an extraordinary collection of everyday objects that tell the stories of centuries past.
Discover the legacy of one of Europe’s greatest medieval powers. The archive preserves centuries of documents, while the Gate of Sant Jordi, with its striking Gothic style, celebrates the patron saint of Catalonia.
This atmospheric square transports you back to medieval times. Surrounded by the Royal Palace and Gothic buildings, it was here that Columbus was received after his voyage to the New World.
Stroll down this historic street, once bustling with booksellers. Today it retains its old-world charm with some of the oldest shops in the city.
A lively square that blends history with modern Barcelona. It was once the site of medieval trade, now a busy meeting point full of energy.
The political heart of Barcelona since Roman times. On one side stands the City Hall, on the other the Palau de la Generalitat, seat of the Catalan government.
Hidden in a courtyard, you’ll find four towering Roman columns — the remains of a temple dedicated to Emperor Augustus. A true hidden treasure of ancient Barcelona.
Celebrate Catalonia’s most emblematic tradition: castells, or human towers. This monument captures the strength, balance, courage, and teamwork behind this UNESCO-recognized heritage.
Named after the author of Homage to Catalonia, this square has a modern, alternative atmosphere and is known for its striking street art.
One of the most famous squares in Barcelona, lined with palm trees and arcades filled with cafés and nightlife. Look out for the distinctive lampposts designed by a young Antoni Gaudí.
A vibrant street connecting the Gothic Quarter with La Rambla. Once part of the medieval city, today it’s alive with shops and restaurants.
Step into one of the oldest parts of the city. Narrow streets whisper the stories of Barcelona’s Jewish community, which flourished here in medieval times.
A hauntingly beautiful square marked by the scars of the Spanish Civil War. The baroque church of Sant Felip Neri stands as a symbol of resilience and memory.
Pause by the Bishop’s Fountain, an iconic photo spot in the Gothic Quarter. Its Gothic arches frame one of the most picturesque corners of Barcelona.
A modern mosaic made of thousands of tiny photographs, forming an image of a kiss. A celebration of love, diversity, and the small moments that create a bigger picture.

Our tour guide Emma well seem very young was a wealth of information concerning this beautiful part of Barcelona. She had very in-depth knowledge about specific areas, architecture, and development periods. We enjoyed her company as we stroll through the streets of the Gothic Quarter in Barcelona.
Emma provided us with a terrific tour of the Gothic Quarter! She was warm, knowledgeable, and fun to be with! She was easy to understand as she brought the different aspects of the Gothic Quarter to life. In addition, she communicated well leading up to the tour. We highly recommend Emma and her Gothic Quarter tour!!!
We enjoyed this short walking tour and Emma was a lovely guide. We had just flown in on over night flight from Canada and had to wait for our hotel room so this was just the perfect amount of time and information for us about the old town.
Emma gave a very interesting tour. She was knowledgeable and willing to answer all our questions. We loved it!
We had a terrific tour with our personal guide, Emma. She started at the beginning, quite literally, at the gate through the Roan wall into the settlement of Barcino. We had an enjoyable walk through the history of the Gothic quarter. Emma was knowledgeable and interesting. I would recommend her tour to anyone who loves to learn about the history of Barcelona.
It was the perfect way to spend my time, exactly what a solo traveller needs! It’s very convenient if you don’t want to worry about planning the route yourself and you’re short on time.
We had a wonderful private walking tour of the Gothic Quarter in Barcelona with Emma. She was very knowledgeable and clearly loves sharing the history of the area. My father-in-law doesn’t understand English very well, so Emma kindly simplified her language and even mixed in some Ukrainian words so he could follow along and enjoy the tour too. It was such a thoughtful touch. We had a great time and would happily do it again!
Emma is such a lovely tour guide. She has so much knowledge to share! We loved having a private tour. The time flew by and we saw so much. We are so happy we booked this tour, thank you Emma.
A very intimate walking tour with Emma and the 2 of us through the Gothic District. Emma is very knowledgable about Barcelona history including the architecture, religious and political influences. The pace is very good as you don’t feel rushed and she has a great conversational style. She answered all of our questions - even those that were most far afield! We would highly recommend Emma and this tour.

We especially enjoyed discovering the hidden corners of the Gothic Quarter and the ancient Roman remains that we would never have noticed on our own. Emma was wonderful! So fun and knowledgeable! We had a group of 6 friends - and it was very much tailored to what the group wanted. We would’ve gotten lost on our own and not learned as much as we did without her!
I’ve walked around the Gothic Quarter countless times and still came away with stories and details I’d never heard before. The tour felt very natural, interesting and well balanced between history and local insight. A nice reminder that there’s always more behind the places you think you already know.
The tour was great and very informative. Emma also customized the tour so it was tailored to our interest. Would definitely recommend!
You will walk a lot and learn a lot. A private tour is better than being with a lot of people. Definitely ask for Emma as your tour guide she was great.
This tour was my first touch to the history and culture of Barcelona🇪🇦 And it was wonderful! I visited so many beautiful places with the guide Emma, saw secret corners of the city (columns of a Roman temple hidden in an ordinary entrance, goddamn!), so many stories happened on these narrow, winding streets in past centuries! I am completely satisfied with the tour, with it I discovered a passion for walking and for deeper study of Barcelona💫 I can definitely recommend this tour and will definitely come back next time I am here🌷
Tour guide was a no show with no communication. Do not recommend booking this tour to waste your valuable time visiting Barcelona.
