Our tour guide Lars was very informative and helpful in explaining how we could make this experience more enjoyable. He took us to some out of the way places and had us enjoy some of his favorite spots. Amazing food and atmosphere. He is an amazing young man with a passion for what he loves.

Christina was so much fun and very knowledgeable about the area. The tastings were great and we learned a good bit. Would highly recommend.
Our original time got pushed back from 1400 to 1445. The meeting spot was also changed. Upon arrival we got a quick history of the square and then went to our first stop. We only stopped at 4 places to eat which was somewhat disappointing. We also didn’t have time to sit and enjoy some conversation and food until the last stop. Our tour guide was very nice, but seemed like he was in a hurry to go someplace else and seemed to be making up the tour as we went.
Liliia was a fantastic guide! She shared so much wonderful information—not only about the foods we tasted, but also about Barcelona’s food culture and traditions. Her personality and fascinating life story made the experience even more enjoyable and memorable. I gave four stars rather than five only because, on a previous food tour I took in Portugal, six tastings meant visiting six different venues. On this tour, we visited three venues, sitting for tastings at two. That said, this is really just a comparison between two different tours, which isn’t necessarily fair. Overall, we had a wonderful experience with Liliia and thoroughly enjoyed learning about Barcelona through its food!
Although the food was great, there were a few miscommunications re: this tour. Our guide was at what Viator said was the end point. Therefore we lost time with him walking over to us. Also, our guide said it was a two hour tour, not a three hour tour as listed in Viator. He was going by time (I get it), not stops. Therefore we only stopped at a dessert place (first) and one restaurant. That being said, the desserts were wonderful and at the restaurant we tried 7 different items which were quite good. Our guide was knowledgeable and personable. He gets a high rating, but, overall, we were disappointed.
We waited at the location and no one was there and the location was closed. We looked all around and no one could locate the reference location. My wife was ripping mad and we left on our own. Later we got a whatsapp saying we're to meet which was not even close to the meeting location. It was several blocks away, but the message didn't arrive until an 1/2 hour later from when he first sent it. I was not a happy camper after spending $240...
Complete rip off, spent 200 pounds for 3 people, had one small sharing plate of tapas and a sharing dessert only. Would not recommend and I wish I could be refunded.
We had such a great time with Maria! She was born and raised in Barcelona and shared her culture and family story with us and took us all over Barcelona to experience the food and neighborhoods. She went the extra mile and we had a great time!
We have taken food tours in many cities and have always enjoyed them. This time, our tour was moved from Saturday to Sunday when some places were closed. Normally, our guide has a plan for places to go and specific things to eat (within our specified preferences). This is why we go on these tours - we want to visit places we wouldn’t go on our own and have a local order for us. In this case, the guide had to keep checking her phone for places to go and was figuring our route out “on the fly”. We paid a lot for a private tour for 4 people (only 3 attended) and when we tried to order a beer we were told that was not included (I paid the 2.75 euro fee separately). None of the food was particularly interesting or tasty. We did not experience anything we could not have done on our own. Our guide did speak English but she was hard to understand. Definitely not worth the expense. Do not recommend.
We had a private 3-hour, 9-tasting food tour in Barcelona for four people. First, I want to recognize our guide, Gonzalo. He was kind, communicative, and genuinely enthusiastic about sharing his city with us. His positive personality made the experience enjoyable, and he was one of the highlights of the tour. Unfortunately, the food experience itself did not meet our expectations, especially for the price. We paid approximately €550 for four people, and we did not feel the value matched the cost. We specifically booked what we understood to be a tapas tour. Instead, the experience felt more like a general food hop. We had two tastings at the market, several dishes at one restaurant, and then visited shops where many of the remaining tastings were essentially free samples. While everything was perfectly fine, it wasn’t the authentic tapas-focused experience we were hoping for. We’ve done food tours in Boston, Italy, and Greece, and this was our least favorite. That’s especially disappointing because Barcelona has such an incredible food culture. We left feeling there was so much more potential to showcase the city’s outstanding tapas, neighborhoods, and culinary traditions. If you’re looking for a friendly, knowledgeable guide, Gonzalo is excellent. However, if you’re expecting a premium tapas experience that justifies the price, this tour may not meet your expectations.
Adi was our guide and it was spectacular! A little bit of history, culture and FOOD! The stories behind everything just topped off the experience. A must do for your first trip to Barcelona.
Alan is amazing! Five stars does not do him justice. This was so much more than a food tour. Although food was absolutely delicious with choice of venues superb, Alan supplied us with his wealth of knowledge. Not only the history of the food but history of Barcelona as well! This tour is not to miss! Even if you have time for only one tour, THIS IS IT!
the guide was very well informed on the food and the town. We got to see a lot. Food id a big event in Spain
Great food tour! Lucy was awesome and started us with churros!! We ate, we laughed, we learned…all what we wanted!
Be prepared to taste wine and interesting local dishes. If it is raining, bring an umbrella. Enjoy the gothic neighborhood.
Excellent first day of trip tour. Alessandro is very knowledgeable and gave us a bunch of information and other ideas for our weeklong Barcelona vacation. Tremendous local knowledge, Spanish history and lots of good restaurant ideas. Other food tours we have done have us pop into a place and try one food and then move onto the next. This tour we did two stops and liked this format. Gave us time to be a more relaxed tour and not rushed. 5 stars
We had the most fabulous guide (Lusi). We learned a lot about the history of the places as well as recommendations where to go on our stay. The food we tried was delicious and plentiful.
Lilly was so knowledgeable and excited about the culture and food. We experienced the market, local olive oils and finished at a great wine bar!
Excellent experience with a guide who thoughfully introduced us to Barcelona local favorites. Took us to neighborhood places rather than tourist places.
Our tour with Lucy was the perfect way to begin our adventures in Barcelona. We learned so much about the city and she paced the trip beautifully. Two of the people in our trip are slower walkers, and we were really pleased that she was able to accommodate for that. And then there was the food! I don’t want to spoil it for you so I won’t get into too much of what we tasted, but let’s just say it was out of this world. And ending the trip with a visit to the rooftop bar was fabulous. Can’t recommend this trip highly enough. Thank you, Lucy!
Marina offered an amazing experience in Barcelona. The food tastings were excellent ranging from seafood to meat and decadent deserts. Marina was very knowledgeable about all things Barcelona and offered excellent insight for us to explore farther.
Lusi, our guide was prompt and friendly. We scheduled the 10 tastings. The first stop at the market was interesting- tasted good Ibérico ham and an oyster which was fine but unremarkable. The stop for tapas was the biggest disappointment- 4 or 5 mediocre tastes- potatas bravas, Spanish omelette, chorizo and shishito peppers. These dishes were fine but probably the least enjoyable of all the tapas we experienced on our visit to Barcelona. Finally, the stop for pintxos was a disappointment- food did not appear or taste fresh. There was nothing resembling a “foodie” tour about our experience which was overall, a disappointment. Would not recommend.
Amazing food tour with the fabulous Gonzalo. Food tastings were delicious and all were personalised to our likes and tastes. Throw in an incredible serve of the history of the areas we explored and this is a tour, and guide, not to be missed. Gonzalo made many recommendations for further exploration of Barcelona, which we really appreciated ☺️ Highly recommended!!!
We had an incredible time on our private food tour with Lars. It was one of the highlights of our stay in Barcelona. Lars was an amazing, informative guide. Before our tour, he took the time to ask about food allergies within our group. He wanted our food tour to be customized to our preferences. He truly made the experience memorable.
Double check meeting place Viator sent us one address and the tour guide different one Very very frustrating late start Tour guide fabulous
Vicky is very knowledgeable of food, culture, history and government. Highly recommend her as a guide to anyone visiting Barcelona. My wife and I were 30 minutes late to meeting Vicky but she waited for us. Vicky has an engaging and sweet personality. Tom O
Bianca was wonderful. She customized our experience based on our likes/dislikes and ended the tour near our hotel which was a bonus. Her energy and enthusiasm was divine. I would highly recommend her to anyone!
We chose the tasting of six stops. Four of the stops were bonafide “food” places… cafes, bar, but two of the stops were retail stops with free small samples for anyone wandering in the store. It was more of a sales pitch. It was a nice tour for the history and on the first afternoon when everyone was jet-lagged.
Our guide, Maria, was fantastic. A true local she shared stories and facts that ranged from the Roman empire to things that happened just a few weeks ago. 10 out of 10, would recommend two friends traveling to this town. Great way to start your Barcelona adventure.
Liliia was fantastic! Very personable and gave us great information about the history and sight we saw along the way of the food tour
This was a wonderful tour with amazing food. Octavio is very knowledgeable about the city and took us to some amazing restaurant and taught us about some of the culture. Would definitely do it again!
Our guide was nice but she did not have a tour set up she said she didn’t know what the tour entailed. We did not get what we paid for
We really enjoyed our private food tour with our excellent guide, Adi. It began at the Mercat de Santa Catarina where we walked through the local market tasting delicious tapas, jamon, and olives, while learning about the cities food history. The private setting let us explore local shops and see a more authentic side of Barcelona. Great tour!
It is not a history or informational tour. The discussion about the food was very fun and understanding the different dishes, but along the walk there was no discussion about the history or the architecture of the area..
Federico was amazing! We had such a relaxed afternoon, ate way too much food and left with a new knowledge about the history of Barcelona. Every place we stopped was absolutely delicious.
Great introduction to Barcelona’s Old City and cuisine. Alessandro was very knowledgeable and engaging. One of the highlights of our three weeks in Spain. Highly recommend!
We loved our food tour with Maria! She showed us around the city, explained some important history, and shared with us some popular tapas and treats! She was warm and fun to be with, and we felt like we were being welcomed to Barcelona by a friend!
Very informative and delicious food. We loved the variety of tastings. The amount of time was perfect
This is a not-miss tour if you want to learn about the local food of Barcelona and Catalonia. Lusi, our guide took us to several excellent tapas and local food emporiums including the famous St Joseph’s market. We sampled a variety of food and Lusi educated us on the local cuisine and food customs of the Catalans.
I picked this tour based on comments and recommendations and we were not disappointed. Lars was enthusiastic, flexible with our start time to fit in with cruise ship arrival and ensured we finished on time for our tour of the Sagrada Familia too. The food and drink tasters were superb and all the locations friendly and welcoming. We were going round Barcelona between opening and lunchtime rush on a busy Saturday but Lars made sure we got to the best spots and got some history lessons too!
This private tour is a must! Sebastian is a great guide! He knows the best and iconic food spots in Barcelona!
We had a lovely time on our food tour with Krisztina. We had churros and chocolate, lots of tapas at a couple of stops, and more chocolate at the end. We also enjoyed vermut, wine, and cava. The best part for me was chatting with Krisztina. She was so knowledgeable about Barcelona and Spain as well as many parts of Europe. Hanging out with her was really so much fun. And taking us to places where the locals eat & drink. This was my first food tour in Europe so having alcohol included was a nice surprise. I would recommend this tour but suggest not on a Sunday or Monday due to closures.
The time we spent visiting some great local places with Bianca were an amazing introduction to our visit to Barcelona. Her knowledge and her passion for the city and country were an absolute delight! I would highly recommended as an introduction to the city and its amazing food and to a wealth of knowledge for the places you can enjoy while in the city. Thank you
Informative with the history of Barcelona and the markets we visited. Knows good food as well. Very helpful when having to translate when communicating with the locals, and for picking up new vocabulary.
Luci was a super friendly guide. Great energy. A real gem. The food was only so so. Nothing food wise really stood out.
My wife and I enjoyed an amazing food tour around Barcelona with Elvira, a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience that combined local knowledge with our own requests. There really is no constructive feedback I could give, as the tour was perfect; my wife and I are still talking and reminiscing about it! Elvira is personable, knowledgable, and brings her own experiences and understandings. We learned a huge amount, ate even more! Thanks, and we will return with the family!
Sebastian was punctual and waiting for us with a big smile, that made us feel like old friends from the first moment we met. He guided us through delicious local tapas and patisseries at unique local spots that we would never had found without a Host :) Between spots he told interesting stories and fun facts about the city. The whole tour was a perfect balance between a laid back and well organized local experience. We learned that Saba also offers other tours from WithLocals, and we will definitely book him for future adventures next time we are in town. Gracias hermano <3
What an amazing experience! I can't even just call it a tour, it was definitely an experience! Alan was amazing and really went above and beyond! We ate so much delicious food, trying things we hadn't yet as well. He picked great places to stop. Drink recommendations to pair with our food was great as well. Now comes the best part...Alan our guide, friend, host, teacher... He was AMAZING! So much knowledge shared in such a wonderful way! To say he went above and beyond is an understatement! He showed us so much. You could tell he loved being there sharing his knowledge of the beautiful city of Barcelona as much as we did! We highly recommend this experience with Alan!!!
Lusi was great - lots of energy - very knowledgeable. Walk with Lusi and learn about the city. Lots of great food - you will leave full. I highly recommend this tour
