This was an amazing cooking class! The sangria was plentiful and delicious. But the star of the show was the paella! I was impressed that they accommodated vegetarians. I highly recommend this class and will definitely do it again!

I took the Paella Cooking Class with Market Visit, Tapas & Sangria and it was awesome from start to finish. Marcel and Gabi were fantastic — warm, funny, and so passionate about Catalan food and culture. The market visit was a perfect start, then we made tapas, sangria, and paella together step-by-step. Everything was hands-on, relaxed, and delicious. I left full, happy, and confident I can recreate paella at home! A must-do in Barcelona — highly recommend!
The entire experience was fantastic! Everything was absolutely delicious, and we had so much fun. Marcel and Gabby were wonderful teachers and hosts. And watch out—the sangria will sneak up on you! 😊
Had great time, everything was excellent. Awesome hosts, knowledgeable. Place needed a little bigger visual sign on the doors for easier location. Walked by first time, turned around and with Google maps help found the location
Amazing experience! They take great care to include those with special food allergies so all can enjoy! Andres was an excellent host and we go home with new cooking skills and incredible memories
Andres and Gabriella were awesome. Andres took us to an amazing market, then we used all the seafood we purchased at the market to make our delicious paella! Andres was knowledgeable and funny. It was a great class!
An amazing time!!! A must do for anyone visiting Barcelona.
Wonderful experience! I would do it again tomorrow! Marcelo and Anna were excellent hosts and instructors!
Excellent cooking class! We learned how to choose the seafood we would cook as well as how to make paella! The chef and su chef were experienced and patient with everyone. The sangria was delicious! Overall great experience!
Taking this paella making class was so much fun. We loved going to the market and choosing the fish with Pedro. Then getting to come back to the culinary arts building to have tapas, learn about sangria and of course make paella. It was a really fun morning and I would highly recommend this experience!
The afternoon was filled with delight!! We shopped, we cooked, we ate, we laughed! It was the most joyous afternoon we have ever had on a group tour. Andres and Gabriella were engaging and light hearted! I would do it again in a heartbeat!
Great experience and food! Loved the lesson.
The food was amazing, guided by patient experts who explain the history of the cuisine as well as the prep and the cooking itself. Great couples outing or for friends. Wonderful location for the cook and the meal. Thanks GAB
Every part of this food experience was excellent! Alfonso and Aziz worked seamlessly together! The participants were engaged the entire time. We had history of many foods/drinks while making and eating them! Alfonso engaged with all the participants well. He tailored the experience to the needs of the participants. This is one of the best food experiences we’ve ever had!!
A great experience with amazing food.
Best paella I’ve EVER eaten. Learned a lot and the trip through the market was fun too; however the cooking class, sangria and tour guides yeiah & Ann were really wonderful. Worth every cent.
This was the best cooking class ever. We visited the market and learned how to choose squid mussels clams and prawns. We learned how to prepare the seafood and to make the best paella ever! Gang and Aziz made the class very enjoyable. Gary’s English and knowledge of food was exceptional. I would thoroughly recommend this class if you want to know more about Barcelona and its cuisine.
Was so much fun! Yaya was great! The entire experience was a blast. Learned a lot and would definitely do it again.
Ye-Ye was amazing as a host and a teacher prepping the ingredients for our own paella was easy and informative A great experience from the tour of the market to the sangria making. Would highly recommend
Pedro & Ana did a good job explaining the experience. The walk to the market was easy It was extremely hard to hear Pedro in the market as he tried to explain the seafood. Quick visit to the market, only stopped at 1 stall. Back at the shop, we “made sangria”, had a small bite & begin to prep our food. Many back a forths from the dining table & kitchen for multiple steps & time for things to set up. In the end we enjoyed a meal with a sweet treat at the end.
Pedro and Anna were fantastic. The instructions were clear and it was fun making the paella and the sangria, but the best part was eating and drinking the food and sangria. Highly recommended, both educational and lots of fun.
Ya Ya was great, as was the food and experience. He provided a ton of great information and the various courses of food and beverage.
This was a fantastic cooking experience. I learned a lot, from how to tell various items are fresh (squid, mussels, shrimp, clams) to how to prep them and do the cook. Lorenzo was a great host/coach and Andy backed him up well. Bring your appetite and a fun attitude!
Lorenzo and Andreas did an excellent job! The market tour was fun with lots of helpful learnings from Lorenzo. The cooking portion was well balanced with hands on parts and several Sangria breaks. Our meal at then end was very delicious. Wish we could do it again but we are on our last night in Barcelona.
Wonderful experience. The chefs are knowledgeable and nice people! We had so much fun!
A great way to spend an afternoon making paella and sangria. Lorenzo (our guide) started our class by taking us to the La Boqueria which was a tour by itself. There he showed us how to choose the fish (squid, clams, oysters). After we went to their cafe to prepare our lunch, however first we made some sangria. Once we started the 6 of us all participated in preparing the fish and cooking the paella. While it was cooking we enjoyed conversation and more sangria. Once done we all enjoyed dining in the “fish of our labor”. The class was approx 3 hours. We loved it, it was fun meeting others, Lorenzo (the chef) was friendly and a great teacher. We would highly recommend it when visiting Barcelona.
Maria was absolutely fantastic! She explained the history of the local foods and how to pair each ingredient. You will not be disappointed in choosing this experience!
Such a fun experience, great small group setup, loved visiting the market, learning about the history of and making sangria and paella, it was organized and tasty! I learned some very good tips about various seafood preparation, too. Highly recommend!
Andres and Maria were incredible! There were only 5 total in our group which was lovely. Food was delicious, sangria was lovely, and wonderful mix of learning to cook and sitting back and enjoying it. Thank you!
We enjoyed the class with Alex (Alejandro) and Gabriella. The market tour and how to select seafood was different and taught me something new. From the cutting to the cooking and eating, we had a lot of fun. We made chicken and seafood paella 🥘 which were both very tasty and filling. We ended with almond cake which was lovely. The pace, length and involvement was just right. A great experience and now a new skill I will have to master!! Thank you team!!
If you’re looking for a truly memorable food experience in Barcelona, look no further than Gastronomic Art Barcelona! From start to finish, this cooking class was a highlight of our trip. Alfonso welcomed us warmly and kicked things off with a fascinating tour of La Boqueria Market, where he shared his expert tips on choosing the freshest seafood and knowing what to look for (and what to avoid!). It was a wonderful way to discover the local food culture. Back in the kitchen, we made our own sangria and enjoyed delicious tapas prepared by Maria. Then came the main event: making our own paellas! Alfonso and Maria were fantastic teachers—patient, encouraging, and full of helpful tips that made even us novices feel like accomplished chefs. And the results? Absolutely delicious! We finished on a sweet note with a simple but scrumptious cake, followed by a celebratory toast and a certificate to commemorate our experience. The combination of local market insights, hands-on cooking, wonderful food, and the warmth and expertise of Alfonso and Maria made this experience special from beginning to end. Highly recommended! Whether you’re a passionate foodie or simply looking for something fun and different to do in Barcelona, book this experience. You’ll leave with happy memories, new cooking skills, and a full stomach!
It will be a great time with this hands on experience! We learned how to select prawns, mussels and cockles!
Lorenzo was awesome. Really enjoyed the market visit, picking out all the ingredients and then returning to the kitchen for a couple of hours cooking, learning, laughing and getting to know more about Spanish and Catalan cuisine and culture. Highly recommend and especially if you can spend the time with Lorenzo! Five stars!
What a perfect experience! We spent three hours with interesting and fun people communing and cooking together. Gabriela was thoughtful and clear explaining the stories of sangria, paella, and St. James’ Cake and how to prepare them to make them flavorful and aromatic, starting from how to select the ingredients in the market. Alfonso made us feel welcome and taken care of during the cooking lesson and tastings, so that we could focus on our experience and learning. I can’t wait to try the recipes and then bring friends together to do it with us.
Thoroughly enjoyed our hands on class with Gabby and Anna. From selecting the ingredients at the market, making the dishes ending with a delicious meal. Hightlight of our time in Barcelona
What an amazing experience. I have gone on many trips and many excursions all over - from Italy to Alaska to the Caribbean to Mexico etc. And, this excursion was simply one of the best. Gabby was wonderful as was her assistant Kim. I would highly recommend.
Fantastic experience, the paella was delicious and the market tour was informative. Would recommend it!
We learned a lot of great information on buying for and preparing the meal. Our host had great knowledge of the area as well.
Great tour by a knowledgeable Chef who took us to the Market as explained how to buy seafood as he picked up our supplies for our class. We walked to his cooking kitchen whee cooked a complete Paella and ate our meal with a lot of Sangria. We finished a wonderful day with our class made almond cake. ***** stars.
Did a last minute booking for the class with my friends and we are so glad we did. Our host Alfonso was very genuine and welcoming throughout, sharing history behind the food and market. The paella was honestly some of the best we’ve had and we now feel so much more confident to try it ourselves at home. Also props to Kim who worked in the background to make sure everything was set up and ran smoothly while we cooked. Would recommend this activity for anyone.
This was one of our highlights of our visit to Barcelona! Yaya was fun and fabulous and made the experience better than expected. It was so great to go to the market and learn about all the seafood and then learn to prepare each component. The paella was the best we ever had and we hopefully can replicate it when we get back home.
This cooking class experience was amazing! Maria was our chef and Ana/ Gabriel were also there on her team. Going to the market to get our ingredients was a great touch. It felt very personable as if I was cooking in someone’s home. We would definitely do this again the food and sangria were excellent.
Maria & Lorenzo were excellent! We learned so much about making the paella & sangria & the history of the food from the Catalonia area. I would highly recommend this experience!
Fun time, great food, and lots of sangria! Andres and Kim were fantastic. The market visit was very cool. Meeting point can be easy to miss but they stand at the door to guide people inside.
i Dios Mio ! This was one of the best group cooking experiences i have had! Gabriel and Aziz were ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ knowledgeable, informative and inventive. I have made many paellas in my life but never a true Catalan version with seafood (and wine!) and it was by far my favorite. Gaby created a fun and relaxed environment in which everyone got involved and participated in making this glorious meal. From the sangria to La Tarta de Santiago and, of course, the paella itself everything was top notch. And the vibe was relaxed, happy and fun with everyone chatting and getting to know each other. A winning evening!
Absolutely enjoyed our cooking class. Alberto and Aziz was awesome and lots of fun. We highly recommend this cooking class
Big personality with YaYa. Great fun for the family learned a lot and had a great experience. The paella was amazing
10/10 recommend. At 1st I was hesitant to book as I thought it might be awkward with other people. But it was actually my favorite activity of the whole trip. Very interactive. Nice people. A good learning experience. And of course the unlimited sangria!! The host Maria was really great.
Wonderful day and experience. Our Chef NES and his assistant were very professional and entertaining!! We learned something new and now have a deeper appreciation for Spanish food/culture.
The class was very well done and our chef (Andres) was a great host and super cook/teacher. The class consumed the entire 3-hour time and was filled with good conversation, good cooking experience and great eating. One item I recommend is to check the market is open. It was closed due to the Spanish holiday, but Chef Andres made up for that.
