Built for the 1992 Olympic Games, this shining white marina transformed Barcelona's coast and is full of bars, clubs and modern sculptures... like Frank Gehry's golden fish. Renovated in 2024, it's a stunning place to start and end our tours.
This former industrial district is full of treasures, such as modern parks, neoclassical cemeteries, street art, "superblocks", and dazzling new architectural projects. Its quieter than the centre and ideal for cycling around. Most of our tours pass by this district.
This phallic-shaped wonder is one of the most iconic buildings in Barcelona. We marvel at its multi-hued exterior and discuss the modernisation of the city.
This gorgeous park is named after the citadel that once sat here. We explore its many points of interest, including a fountain partially-designed by Gaudi, and get some oxygen in our lungs.
We love to show travellers the hidden back streets of the Born district, full of secrets, boutiques, artisan shops and cosy cafes.... the central 'square' used to be a medieval jousting ground!
On most tours we pass by this sensational Gothic masterpiece and admire the rose-window façade, before exploring the rest of El Born.
No cycle ride in Barcelona is complete without a ride along the beach. We normally reserve this route for the way home, enjoying the sun on our faces and the carnival atmosphere of this crazy playa.

We had a great time on the tour. Austen was extremely knowledgeable of the places & history. We felt very safe on our bikes & thoroughly enjoyed the route we were taken on. Highly recommend.
John Pierre made our bicycle tour awesome. It’s all about the guide and their good energy and all the insightful information they tell you along the way. Very pleasant, relaxed, informative, and delightful. Thank you, Jean Pierre.
Great tour and Mariana was a fantastic guide. We saw tons of stuff we would not otherwise have found, and got a great overview of the non-tourist dominated parts of the city. Mariana was really interesting and informed, and made it all lots of fun for all of us (2 x adults, 12 yo and 15 yo). She also gave us great tips for the rest of out stay. Really highly recommended.
Perfect way to see Barcelona. We were in a group of 5. Comfortable bikes and a great overview of the city. Augustin was an excellent guide, friendly and knowledgeable and told us many interesting facts about the city and its history. It was at a relaxed pace and we could stop when we wanted. 100% recommend Augustin and Steel Donkeys
Worthwhile activity to ride around getting to know parts of the city. Our guide Bella was very knowledgeable and passionate about her guiding. Would recommend this to anyone who can ride a bike. Flat and no hills
Please book your bike tour NOW! Bella was absolutely incredible- knowledgeable, kind, energetic, safe, and FUN!!! Thank you, thank you! A total highlight of our trip to Barcelona!
What a great time with just 7 people. Easy to get to know everyone. A perfect way to see Barcelona. If you can ride a bike, it’s SO much better than a bus tour. 100 percent recommended.
This was a wonderful tour, with the route tailored to the group. Mariana was full of life and energy, sharing stories and history of the city with passion and pride. We explored some touristy places, riding along the coast and zigzagging through the Gothic Quarter, but also some more local neighbourhoods and parks. Mariana gave recommendations, told us about the city’s redevelopment and shared some of what the locals like to do and some of the challenges they face. I found it very interesting and insightful. Mariana was happy to take all our questions and encouraged curiosity. It was also a great way to get comfortable in the city on a bike if you wanted to do a bit more self-guided cycling afterwards during your visit. Would highly recommend!!
Great way to see a broad reach of the city. We had Jean-Pierre who was very knowledgeable. No pressure on the pace, frequent stops and Barcelona is very flat so no effort. Don’t really need an e-bike but zero effort if you do get one. Highly enjoyable.
An excellent bike tour exploring the area around the beach/harbour. Knowledgeable guide with lots on insights and information. Easy riding and mainly done away from vehicle traffic
Wonderful morning with lovely people! It’s a good choice for the first-time visitor to take a glance of the city and get know about the history and culture here in the beginning of the trip of Barcelona. Several stops along the way for 4 hrs, so it’s a quite easy and chill ride.
Austin, the guide was awesome. He took care of us the entire time. He showed us so many places. Thank you Agustin.
Great tour. Mariana our guide was fantastic! Very Knowledgeable and fun. We did the tour on September 11, the National Day of Catalonia, and there were interesting marches and speeches going on across the neighborhoods we visited. Mariana did a great job giving us insights into the complex political history between Catalonia and Spain. She also took us to some great cafes and shops!
augustine was great! knowledgable and fun!!!
I hate leaving bad reviews, and maybe they were just having an off day, but the first two bikes they gave me had broken chains. Then they were "out" of the city bikes so they were going to "upgrade" me to an e-bike. They gave me an e bike with a broken basket and told me they couldn't switch it out, so I could take it or leave it. Then they asked for another volunteer to use an e-bike because the guide needed a regular bike and they were out, so my friend (who doesn't like e-bikes) finally agreed to use one. THEN, when we were about to leave (15+ minutes after we were supposed to start) a group who had booked a private tour and was supposed to have e-bikes was told they didn't reserve e-bikes and they would have to pay the difference. They decided to, which then freed up regular bikes, leading the guide to tell us she was going to take back the e-bikes and give us regular bikes. She gave me one that had a broken pedal and a broken front brake handle. Rather than have to trade in yet ANOTHER broken bike, we just decided we did not want to go on the tour any longer. We turned the bikes in and told them we were no longer interested. As for whether the tour itself was good, I can't give a review on that since 20 minutes into it and 4 broken bikes later, we never made it that far.
Amazing tour. Augustin was so knowledgable and friendly. Loved seeing the side of the city that wasn't so touristy Highly recommend this tour!!
Soo good. A very good use of a few hours to get bearings on Barcelona , learn some history and efficiently see the sights. Bella was fantastic. Highly recommended.
Bella did a wonderful job showing us around the city. I would highly recommend this tour. We saw many sights in the city and Bella was very knowledgeable along the way. The pace was great and the timing was perfect. A great tour!
Agustin did a fantastic job showing us around Barcelona, we saw a ton in just a few hours and he made sure we had an enjoyable and smooth ride. He is also very knowledgeable about BCN and made the experience both informative and enjoyable
A really fun bike tour — I loved it. It shows you a different side of Barcelona beyond the usual highlights and takes you into neighbourhoods where locals actually live. The guide was highly skilled, cheerful, and very helpful. Truly recommended.
We had a wonderful 4 hour bike ride with Bella in and around the different areas of the city. Bella was very knowledgeable, explaining facts about the sites we visited and just the city in general. We went with our 3 kids ranging from 12-16 and there was not one complaint about pace or length of the tour. I cannot say enough good things about this experience as a way to see the hidden gems of this city.
We had a wonderful tour with Bella! She was a fun and interesting guide. We learned a lot about Barcelona and saw areas that weren't on our list. It was a great way to be introduced to the city. Thank you Bella! (We are a family of four with two teen boys.)
Private tour which was perfect for us. Jean Pierre was our guide and adapted to our needs and ensured excellent stops.
we had a great time on our bike tour with Bella. It was hot but Bella made sure that we got breaks often and were safe and comfortable. It was so nice to be able to become familiar with the city away from the crowds.
The information we heard on our cycle tour was invaluable, the guide was fantastic and we throughly enjoyed ourselves, would most certainly recommend this tour!
Jean-Paul was super friendly and informative, the tour was amazing would highly recommend.
I went on tour with Bella and had a wonderful experience! Bella was very kind and knowledgeable and gave us a beautiful and relaxed tour through many different parts of the city. What I liked a lot was the pleasant pace and the way she informed us about everything we visited. With Bella I felt like a local biking through non touristy neighbourhoods, which was a great way to get to know Barcelona! Thank you, Bella.
If you enjoy the wind in your hair, biking through narrow, beautiful side streets with an expert guide, this is the tour for you. We have not a single complaint or suggestion. Our family loved spending an afternoon with Augustin and hearing his take on the city. Perfect balance of biking and exploring off the bike. Great recommendations from our guide. This is the tour you want for a small group experience (we had 7 in our tour, our family plus three others).
This tour is a lovely opportunity to see some of the smaller charms of Barcelona. But can be challenging in the traffic. Our guide was friendly and provided great information and insight on the hidden charms of the city. We were able to see and understand history behind many highlights of Barcelona as well as enjoy the smaller quieter parts of the city. However the traffic (cars and pedestrians) posed some challenges. We really enjoyed our experience but would mention that our guide as quite late arriving therefore off to a late start which resulted in a late return. She was very friendly and knowledgeable about the tour but not so much about the bikes when there were problems but in all fairness the bikes should have been in better running order. Fortunately one of the guests was able to fix most of the problems. Also safety wasn’t a priority and often we were not advisors of what to be aware of like the parking blockade at the bottoms of the return ramp. Some guests had to rush to the right at the last minute to prevent from cycling into it. Even with the challenges we experienced I would do this ride again. We got to see things we never would have otherwise. Thanks.
Marina was such a wonderful tour guide!! We absolutely loved how knowledgeable and enthusiastic she is. At the beginning of the tour, she takes the time to get to know everyone in the group seeking to understand what they’re excited about and what they want to learn in Barcelona, then, based on that, she creates a tour specifically for you based off of what you need and want. The result was having a wonderful time! I cannot recommend this enough, if possible try to take the tour with Marina!
Augustine was just superb and gave us a lot of information while on tour. It was just 4 people in the group so it was private and we biked for 3.5 hrs and saw a lot of Barcelona. Would highly recommend.
We had a wonderful tour of Barcelona with Bella and another nice couple! It was wonderful to learn the history of the city and particularly the neighborhoods. We received great recommendations following our ride. What a great experience to see the wonders of Barcelona!
A must do. We did ours on day 3 of our visit to Barcelona. Refreshing to see new parts of the city. As obvious as it sounds, it’s great how much more one covers on a bicycle. Julio, our guide, was tremendous. Clear, engaging and handled the group perfectly. A real highlight of our trip here. Thank you!
Ophélie was a wonderful tour guide who showed us the non-touristy part of the city as part of a casual bike ride. We really enjoyed the tour. A recommended tour- absolutely great.
Our guide was informative and engaging. The trip went through several different areas so there was some variety in what we saw. Biking through the Gothic Quarter is not the easiest due to its narrow alleys and need to dodge pedestrians. As such, I would advise doing this tour when tourism is at its lowest.
Agustín gave us a wonderful tour through many neighborhoods in Barcelona. We had plenty of photo opportunities and felt very safe navigating the busy city streets, bike paths and alleys!
We had a great tour with Latisha, she was relaxed, helpful and fun. The tour was a good pace, stopping to chat about the landmarks but also stretched of biking through different neighborhoods at a leisurely pace. Definitely a great option for seeing several areas of the city in a few hours. Glad we did ‘off the beaten path’ because the main attractions are so insanely busy you wouldn’t be able to bike through the crowds. Highly recommend her as a guide and the over all experience with the company was great.
We did a 4 hour tour with Mariana. We were a group of 9. Very easy riding. Lots of information shared about the areas we did our riding into. Mariana is a very passionate person regarding her city and had lots to share about the history and stories of Barcelona. Very enjoyable experience.
A bike tour is a great way to see multiple neighborhoods and learn about their history! Our guide pointed out many small things I would have missed on my own and answered all of the small group’s questions. If you’re traveling solo, it’s nice to be in a small group for a bit exploring with fellow travelers.
Exceeded our expectations! Our guide was knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the city. He explained the significance of each place we visited. He explained the significance of the architecture in each section of the city. The bikes were comfortable and worked well. He ensured our safety at all times. The market we visited for lunch had many different options. It was long enough to see many different sites. Would highly recommend this company.
This was a great way to see all of the neighborhoods and historical areas of Barcelona. It was mostly flat and so it was super easy and casual. We stopped at one of the food market halls and were able to walk around and purchase a quick bit to eat which was a nice surprise. Our tour guide (Augusta? spelling?) was very friendly and informative. I recommend this tour 👍🏻
We had a fabulous day, touring the city by bike with our guide Mariana. This is a fabulous way to see an experience the city!
It was the perfect way to see so much of Barcelona in a few hours. I think this is the most fun way to site see, much better than walking. You cover so much in a short time.
Can’t say enough great things about Steel Donkey! We had Augusto as our tour guide. He was patient, thorough and had a ton of knowledge and information. My 13 year old had booked and e-bike but apparently you need to be 18 (?) in Spain to ride. It was just fine. The 3.5 hour tour was not exhausting. We rode at a very manageable pace and had plenty of time to explore. I would not have walked the way we went on my own, so appreciated getting some history and knowledge of Barcelona. Fantastic way to kick off the Barca part of our trip!
Great way to the city and find out lots of interesting facts. Our two kids loved it as well (14 and 11). Ophelie was a great tour guide.
This is a must-do experience in Barcelona. Claudia was an excellent and very knowledgeable guide, taking us to places we would never have visited on our own. The 4 hours went so quickly and we saw so many wonderful sites. Only negative was a lack of signage to find the bike rental and no offer of helmets.
Elisa was our guide and she was wonderful! It was a beautiful day, and we saw so much in the four hours, and I'm excited to go back and explore some of the places she took us to during the rest of our stay in Barcelona. She explained a lot about the history of the city and certain neighborhoods, and it was super interesting and also really fun! I'm so glad I went on this tour!
Felt very disorganized. I didn’t learn much of anything. Started 20 min late and ended 5 min early. I didn’t feel like I saw many tourist sites either. Just biked through some difficult to bike through neighborhoods
Fantastic introduction to the real Barcelona
