We got half way through one of two routes and the bus was so crowded my husbands legs went to sleep. We got off and followed the bus route to find the next stop. We never found another stop and ended up walking 3 miles to our hotel. The narrative was not synched to the route so the description never matched the sites. We bought tickets through TripAdvisor and found out when we got on the bus that we could have purchased discount tickets for age over 65. The website didn’t give us the option to purchase senior tickets so we paid $22 more for tickets than we would have if we’d bought them in the bus.

We had to wait over 20 minutes to board a bus because two buses were in repair. Also, it was hard to find the English channel on the audio system.
There is a lot of construction going on in Barcelona and also this weekend we were there right before Halloween. This meant that some of the stops were unavailable and they did announce it but if you plan on the stops, you’d have to take a different route to get off and see some of the sites. The two routes are all you’d ever need to have to see everything worth seeing in Barcelona proper if you get there at 9 o’clock in Pl de Catalunya you have the best shot for getting a seat. We went all the way around one of the roots and when we got back to the starting point, the line was enormous so we were glad we got there right at the beginning. The lines were not so long if you got on on one of the stops away from the main starting place.
Good experience. Seats on the top deck. Plenty of earphones.
Good way to see overview of Barcelona, however, a few of the stops, one in particular, feels like being left in a wasteland.
My experience was unsafe, incomplete, dropped off in the middle of nowhere, told to walk back to our hotel, in which was a 30min walk in an unfamiliar place in the midst of a dangerous protest & riot. I felt scared, unsafe, unsure & lost. Very unprofessional call/ judgment by the companies safe to disregard & uninform us on what was going on for our on safety , besides dropping us off in the middle of the dangerous streets in a unfamiliar country to walk at night in the midst of riots, police unfamiliar streets, alleys etc.
Difficult to find the bus stops, prerecorded audio doesn’t sync with where you actually are, must keep track of a paper receipt to get back on the bus when there’s a QR code right in the phone-stupid. Bus took a completely different route, had to skip stops, etc. most of the staff were pleasant enough but also they were tired of dealing with annoyed and confused tourists as well. It could definitely use improvement. Saw a few sights, but ultimately abandoned it halfway through.
Didn't realize the size of this city and length of routes. Loved the audio and information. Wish we had more time
Excellent route taking in vast areas of the city (it took well over 2.5 hours on one route). The stops to get on/off seemed to be well thought out. Unfortunately didn’t get to see a Gaudi house, as bus doesn’t go past so just caught a glimpse. Vast amount of information given via the audio guide. Also seems you can get entrance tickets to some attractions whist on board. Highly recommend.
The bus tour was good. The details provided in the audio was not as much detailed as I expected. The line at some stops were long. Regardless, it served its purpose and took us to places we wanted to see
We had an absolutely awful experience with this Hop-On Hop-Off tour. We were traveling as a family with two young children (aged 2 and 4) and ended up waiting for 50 minutes at the bus stop. To make matters worse, two buses completely passed us by without even stopping. When a third bus finally pulled over, the driver told us we couldn't get on because there was no room left and that we had to wait for the next one. It is completely unacceptable to leave a family with toddlers stranded on the sidewalk like this. Avoid this company if you want a reliable tour!
Awesome way to get around the city and get the lay of the land. Always a great choice when visiting big cities. Highly recommend.
The bus was very good. Free headphones with many languages available for listening to guide. Guide is recorded, not live. Bus stop locations are convenient. If you are not at the stop, the driver will not stop to pick you up or drop you off. The top level is open and nicer for viewing unless the weather is not good. It poured for part of the time while we were seated up top. The rain would collect on the roof when the bus stopped and then come streaming in when it started again. If you were in the outside seat, you were soaked. It's best to ride at the bottom level if it is raining hard.
Initially difficult to find the stop near our hotel: maybe brochure /map could be available at hotel since the staff had no idea where we were to go. The info on app hard to access as well but once we got on bus the tour was very good and comfortable
It’s a misleading title, the hop and drop goes to nice places and all but the title implies the bus runs late as it’s 24-48 hours but it’s only a ONE OR TWO DAY BUS PASS the buses stop going at 5pm which is very disappointing. Again the stops are nice but had I known it wasn’t open longer than the early evening I wouldn’t have gotten it.
Hits numerous points of interest. Great way to see the city if you don’t have a great deal of time. On time, you don’t have to wait too long for the next bus.
A great resource in a new city. Overall the experience was good however there are two opportunities for improvement. The latest evening pick-up is around 7 pm, quite early as it is still broad daylight and much to do and see. Also, the first level of the bus is rather oppressive, no AC and windows that do not open to circulate air. Very difficult in Barcelona in the summer.
On Time and friendly guides who tried to help as much as they could with information on sights. Drivers were excellent and this was a great budget friendly way to see most of the sights.
It was a hot day and air conditioning didn’t work. Head phones were challenging. Enjoyed view from top deck.
Buses on the Orange and Green routes run at often enough. Traffic was the issue. Also, we were all asked to leave a bus because they said it was the last stop. If it's continuous, that didn't make sense. Waiting for the next bus was taking way too long. Ended up taking a cab to my final destination. Some connections for headsets didn't work. It's best if you utilize this transportation for full days. Partial days are too risky.
Typical hop bus system. Unfortunately, the bus broke down and we had to find alternate transportation for get us back to our starting place.
We did the night tour, so it wasn’t hop on/hop off. The guide’s narration was mediocre and scripted in a way that made me feel I could just ask ChatGPT. I took out the headphones half way though and just watched the sites go by. The only reason I didn’t fall asleep was fear of decapitation by low hanging branches. Definitely not the tour operators fault, but also repeatedly frightening as the foliage thwacked the bus in the dark. Overall I would say it was fine, but the live guide added nothing and recorded narration would probably have been better. I guess I also expected the city’s major monuments to be more stunning after dark, but it wasn’t all that special. Because of the insane daytime temperatures I certainly never would go on an open top bus in daylight! You would fry for sure!
Unfortunately we weren't able to go on this excursion. Our flight arrived too late to Spain. Busses were not running anymore.
had a very disappointing experience with this tour. The pickup information was inaccurate, and despite following the instructions, no one ever picked me up. I spent about three hours walking between different stops trying to find the correct location. I repeatedly tried calling the company, but no one answered the phone, and I was never able to speak with a representative. I also never received any communication or assistance while I was waiting. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this tour. I paid for a service that was never provided, and the lack of customer support made the situation even more frustrating. I would not book this tour again, and I encourage others to be cautious before booking.
Big city tours Barcelona was HORRIBLE!! Very crowded bus. Not enough busses at start of route. Busses were infrequent! DO NOT pay for this horrendous experience!
Makes getting around Barcelona easy and reliably
Great way to get a taste of Barcelona. This hits most of the highlights. While Park Guell is on the list. You have to walk to it. There are 2 lines, into ok the orange line. The coastal part of the trip ia gorgeous. No one tells you about the gardens and museums you can see. If I were going to be here longer, I'd get the 2 day pass and explore every stop. Use the map. My headphones did not work.
Route was very good, and gave a good overview of the city. But on a hot day, bus is also hot. A/C is not great as there is no door to upper deck, so hot air permeates lower level. Audio was not very well synched to location and repeated several times. ‘Hostess’ held two seats for herself with her bags that prevented paying guests from using them.
The experience was great. I would highly recommend this to everyone. there were plenty of stops. and plenty of busses.
Great way to see the sites and get from one place to another. My husband and I like to do these when we’re seeing a city for the first time.
Spent almost an hour trying to catch the correct bus to begin. Not so easy as their stops were so brief at some !
This event was cancelled at the last minute so very disappointed as waste of time & money ( for taxi to get there & back). Communication from the company was good although I don’t understand why the cancellation was discovered so late!
User friendly system for getting around to see Barcelona's highlights. Be advised it could be crowded and is first come first serve. Friendly and helpful people operate the buses.
The bus is good just you might have to wait for the next bus because it’s full. Also some of the audio on bus doesn’t work
Great way to tour the city. Lots of interesting history and some incredible architecture. Try to get a seat on the top level for the best view.
Easy and convenient to book. Tickets were downloaded to phone. One can start trip at any stop. They will print your ticket for a hard copy once you load bus 😊
It was a great way to see Barcelona in a short period of time. We were on a cruise so only had one day. The two routes cover the entire city. We never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes for a bus. I highly recommend it.
The bus tour gives you the opportunity to see the whole city of Barcelona in a couple of hours. You get to stop andjump off and where you want. Definitely sit on the top to truly enjoy the ride and the views!
Excellent 2.5 hrs spent on top deck. Entire Barcelona city tour. We just wanted to tour city in one lump. Perfect. Great audio
This was a great experience. This is a definite excursion to try. You would be able to see a lot of difference places, and you can use the bus for 24 hours if needed.
Great tour. The bus stop is easy to locate. I like the fact that the stop number is stated. The bus lines have some of the same locations, so it is easy to cross over.
Great introduction on Barcelona. We did both routes and it took about 5 hours. We didn't get off to see areas, as we've already visited the main attractions. One complaint...there are two companies that provide this service...make sure you're clear on where their stops are (generally the same areas), but it was confusing for us at first as we saw the red bus and thought that's where we should go. It would be nice to have clear descriptions on the exact location where each stop is located. Seems to me that with today's technology, that should be possible.
Not bad but I rather to walk in this beautiful city, kind expensive for what you get. Anyway if you here for a day it is a good option to take a quick look
I want to profusely thank the attendants on the two buses in Barcelona who reunited me with my phone after I dropped it on one bus and got off by the Soccer Stadium. The attendant on the following bus called the other, who found the phone. MY THANKS AGAIN TO YOU BOTH.
Everything worked and was on time. Good educational information. We rode both lines in two days. Give it a try and enjoy.
Organized and LONG The stops are very well labeled. timely and the bus is clean and nice. Wee traveled early December. We didn't have any lines. The bus could become crowded very easily. The audio was a nice touch. The orange line was LONG. It takes 2 hours, it was almost too long to enjoy but the area you see is expansive. The green line was better. We'd probably had liked it better if we did hop off lol Plan for it to be "your day" if you want your money's worth.
This was absolutely awesome! Loved having the flexibility. My family was too jet lagged to enjoy it properly but would definately book again!
We did this tour in one day. There are so many stops that we wanted to see but could not do it all in one day. If you get a chance to do this tour, try to do the 48hr pass as the stops take away from your day and there are just so many. The Wifi on board was great! I was emailing and texting friends back in the states what I was seeing after just seeing it! What a great way to see Barcelona!
Very enjoyable relaxing holiday. The hotel was central so easy to get around. The weather was good so we did the two day tour bus.
Very convenient, Pickup is just in the corner of our Hotel, Barcelona Princess, The 2 bus routes with English narration of each stops gave us history and instant knowledge of the district. A very rewarding experience of Barcelona in 6 hours.
