Touring the Gothic Quarter, Sagrada Família, and Park Güell was high on our bucket list. And our guide Xavier made it a dream experience. He is an outstanding guide—super welcoming, incredibly insightful, and full of fascinating details about Gaudí and Barcelona's past. We learned so much and had a wonderful time from start to finish. The team at Explore Catalina was fantastic too!!

Myself and my boyfriend really enjoyed the overall experience. Rod was very funny and so knowledgeable, answering all our questions. The half day was well planned and gave us a chance to grab food and an amazing coffee before sagrada de familia. Would recommend the experience if new to barcelona and trying to understand its history!
8 hr tour …awesome guide ! Very informative and educational .
My guide Xavier was the goat. He was very funny and entertaining. He explained everything very well he deserves a raise. 🐐🐐🐐 visca el Barca
Xavier was amazing and gave a very educational tour - highly recommend it!
Xavier was just excellent. A perfect mix of fun and facts. No notes.
Xavier is so good. Beautiful explanations and energy
My husband and I have taken a lot of tours in our lifetime. This tour with Sergio today was BY FAR the best! We got done and wished we could go on another tour with him. His love of his city, its history, and care for each participant shone through in every interaction. His pace and depth of knowledge were spot on! Thank you for an AMAZING day, Sergio. You brought Familia Sagrada and Barcelona alive, and you will be remembered by both of us for years to come!
The Barcelona Highlights Tour with Sergio as our guide for the full day tour was fabulous…in fact beyond fabulous! It was the best Viator tour we’ve taken. Sergio was so knowledgeable about the history of each venue we visited and always able to answer our questions. My wife and I absolutely recommend this tour and guide!
Xavier was extraordinary! His knowledge and presentation was outstanding.
Great your. Good value. Had a much better time as our guide, Xavier, was very knowledgable about the history of the area and how things came to be. More importantly though, he wove his knowledge in and out deftly. No single moment felt overloaded and no moment felt like it lacked enough context to be interesting. We feel like we could have seen the sights and paid for entrance tickets fine on our own, but we truly wouldn't have had nearly as interesting and fulfilling an experience than if we'd gone without our guide. Highly recommended. Thanks, Xavier!
This was a fabulous tour with a fabulous tour guide. His name was Javier. He was so knowledgeable, kind, and educated. We enjoyed his fun personality and had a great time on this tour. We were able to get right in without waiting in line.
We had a great tour, Rod was an amazing guide. I was with my husband, children and parents who can’t do fast pace tours and Rod was very mindful in taking small breaks and finding places for them to sit. He was also very interesting and you could see that he was very passionate about the history and the arts in his explanations. I would highly recommend.
A massive thank you to our incredible guide, Xavier! His English was impeccable, and his storytelling brought the history of the city and Gaudí’s landmarks to life with so much passion and humor. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and made sure everyone had a fantastic experience.
Xavier did a wonderful job, very knowlegable & informative. Recommended.
Xavier was knowledgeable and professional guide.
Xavier was amazing! Very informative and engaging.
The tour was phenomenal and the tour guide was excellent. His name is Xavier. It was simple beautiful.
Wonderful and informative experience
Very informative tour. Xavier did an amazing job and answered everyone’s questions.
We got a great insight into the sights and history of the town. Excellent tour guiding by xavier. He made the tour very interactive and amusing.
We had a very knowledgeable guide. Loved that we were able to see so much of Barcelona in a few hours. You should do the full day because the park was beautiful.
Xavier was an amazing guide and very knowledgeable
Xavier was a very informative, knowledgable and friendly guide. I went with the morning tour which included La Sagrada. The extra cost was very much worth it in regards to getting a bit more history about Barcelona and the Gothic quarter, not to mention panoramic views of the city at the mirador.
This was a fantastic experience with a wonderful guide who shared so much about the history, culture, and many other fascinating details in such an engaging and humorous way. The time simply flew by! Highly recommended!
Rod was an amazing guide, we learnt so much about Barcelona, he was very entertaining & knowledgable
This tour was an excellent way to discover highlights of Barcelona! We had a small group, which really improved the experience, and our guide, Rod, was knowledgeable, funny, kind, and very helpful with tips about what else to see and do when the tour was over. You can't go wrong booking this experience.
Rod was an amazing tour guide! We got to see everything that I wanted to see, & then some. He recommended great restaurants that we loved eating at. He was extremely knowledgeable & was able to answer the few questions we had. The day flew by, and we would do it again with him as our guide.
Rod was absolutely brilliant. His humor and history kept the day a most enjoyable experience.
Rod was an amazing guide. He made our visit that much better. A++ for Rod!
I really enjoyed my tour with Rodrigo, it was a small group so it was easy and nice to move around. The tour over all was amazing since he had a lot of information about history and architecture, also he gave me other recommendations for the rest of the trip.
This was an exceptional experience. Our guide Sergio was amazing!! Very knowledgeable and informative. He gives a lot of history and asks if you have questions. We enjoyed each stop along the way. Our family favorite was Sagrada Família. We also stopped at a delicious bakery ahead of the tour which was exceptional.
We were too late to get tickets to the Sagrada Familia, so we signed up for this tour last minute for that reason alone. It was worth it even without that purpose as the information from the guide and the leadup to the visit were well worth it. We did the half-day version. The Sagrada Familia is certainly not something you want to miss!
A fantastic tour that I would recommend to anyone to attend. Our guide, Javier, kept us entertained all day and was extremely knowledgeable sharing the city's history, the history of Gaudi and the amazing architecture in Barcelona.
Mel was a great tour guide, I would recommend it to anyone visiting Barcelona. I learned a lot of things from this tour.
Sergio was by far the best tour guide I've ever had. He was incredibly friendly, funny, and exceptionally knowledgeable throughout the entire Barcelona Highlights & Sagrada Familia Tour. What really stood out was how much he cared about everyone having a great experience. He offered to take photos for people, pointed out the best spots for pictures, and even shared excellent local restaurant recommendations. Our group had a couple of slower-moving participants, but Sergio did a fantastic job keeping the tour on schedule while making sure everyone felt included and comfortable. He also made a point to speak with every person in the group individually, which added a very personal touch and made everyone feel welcome. His energy, expertise, and attention to detail made the tour both informative and enjoyable. If you're lucky enough to get Sergio as your guide, you're in for an amazing experience. Highly recommend!
The tour was very informative and Sergio kept us completely engaged. The tour of the Gothic center was very interesting. The tour of the Sagrada Família was abit chaotic, but Sergio kept us on track. Unfortunately by the time we reached the Gaudi Milà house we were all a bit exhausted after experiencing Parc Güell.
Xavier was our guide and he was extremely knowledgeable about the history of our tour. The architecture of La Sagrada Familia is unbelievable and Xavier knew everything about it. He was like a talking history book. He’s an amazing guide.
This tour offered a great way to experience Barcelona in a day. And you know what makes an experience even greater? The right guide. And Rod was absolutely the right guide. Now, I have been on a lot of tours in my life. And this one covers it all. Jewish Quarter, Montjuïc, Park Güell, La Pedrera, and all of it done in style, because between stops there was an air conditioned bus. In Barcelona. In that heat. I cannot overstate what this means for the human body and spirit. The Jewish Quarter alone could have been its own tour. Like you are transported to medieval times, except with better shoes and the knowledge that a cool bus is waiting for you around the corner. Park Güell was something else entirely. If only Gaudí could have completed the project. It would have made for a very whimsy and surreal place to live. La Pedrera continued the Gaudí cinematic universe beautifully. The curves, the rooftop, the warrior chimneys. And the Sagrada Família skip-the-line situation is worth the price of admission alone. Standing in that scorching heat without a plan would have been a crime against humanity. Skipping the line felt like a genuine VIP privilege. Every inch of the Basilica is covered with intricate, meaningful and symbolic details. A truly beautiful and ambitious project, to say the least. Gaudí was a genius and also possibly a little unhinged, which I respect deeply (Once you get the scoop on his personal life, you might say "Ah, that explains it".) Individual questions were welcomed and answered thoroughly, which as someone who had many questions, I appreciated enormously. Three days in Barcelona? This tour is non-negotiable. I ran into the guide a few days later in Girona. I of course sprinted over to say hello. Just a wonderful, wonderful human being. Merci!
It was an all day Barcelona trip with Rod. Amazing tour guide! Timeliness, lively, respectful, knowledgeable, very experience, funny, and thoughtful. He loves Barcelona which means he makes us fall in love with Barcelona ie catalian.
Our family had one full day to explore Barcelona- this tour was perfect. We hit all the “must sees” of Barcelona. Our tour guide, Mel, was amazing. We could not have had a better experience. Our family (ranging in age from 14- 78 years old) all have a new appreciation of Barcelona. I would highly recommend this experience.
Great time and very informative. Very passionate about the history of Barcelona.
An interesting and informative excursion is full of many facts and historical information. Special thanks to the guide Rodrigo for explaining the essence of how the Catalans differ from the Spaniards.
We had Rorigo. He was great. He has a passion for this . We loved the time with him .
Xavier was a fantastic tour guide! He was knowledgable, personable, and funny! We loved the tour!
This was an incredible tour despite the pouring rain! Our guide was very knowledgeable and funny. Highly recommend :)
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Barcelona. Our guide was Rod and he gave us a fabulous explanation of all the places visited. Sagrada Familia and Park Guell were the highlights! We definitely recommend taking this tour.
