Barcelona Gothic Quarter Walking Tour

Pilar was by far the best tour guide we had during our trip to Barcelona! She was incredibly knowledgeable, charismatic, and passionate about her city. Her enthusiasm made our Gothic Quarter tour so engaging and gave us an even greater appreciation for Barcelona. We only wish she could have been our guide for all of our other tours! Highly recommend Pilar!

Could not recommend. I arrived early for my tour, found many groups ready to start but couldn't find mine. Apparently they left without me. When I tried to reschedule they flat out refused to do so or refund me. Needless to say, I was a little pissed off. I can understand the no refund thing, but refusing to reschedule me (because they didn't have to) isn't great.

Patrick was wonderful, he was incredibly knowledgeable about the city and culture and enriched our experience as we started our time in Barcelona, we recommend him highly!

Admittedly, it could have been our fault, but we never found the meeting location. We were within 1 minute of walking according to Google Maps but no locals could point us in the correct direction. We called the American phone number and it was totally non refundable as advised prior, but they would not reschedule either. Instead we went through the Cathedral of Barcelona by ourselves

Alex did a great job winding us through the narrow streets of the Gothic Quarter. he had a lot of interesting information to share about the neighborhood. As an extra bonus, we were given free admission to the Frederic Mares Museum after the tour. Excellent experience!

The tour guide Iris was amazing! She was knowledgeable, witty and engaging. We wished the tour had a bit more walking and area covered, but Iris made up for it.

We arrived at the meeting point for the tour but could not find anyone, we saw a couple of other tours but weren't our one. Tried to contact tour operator but then could not access to receive or send further messages. We have not had the experience we paid for. We were looking forward to this and has cost us money and left us with no activity

Loved seeing the beautiful old buildings and listening to the history of the quarter. My only complaint was that the tour guide had a nylon jacket on and the material gave a scratchy sound that fed into his mike. I finally took the microphone earbud from my ear as it was more than my ear could handle.

Last month I signed up for a walking tour of the Gothic Quarter in Barcelona. It was absolutely wonderful thanks to our illustrious tour guide by the name of LAURA! Laura was so energetic and enthusiastic about sharing the history of each section of the areas we stopped at. Her sense of humor kept us interested in all aspects of the tour. She was extremely personable and her electric personality generated an excitement in me and also in my sister and brother-in-law to learn more and more about each historic detail. She also spoke clearly, articulately and she projected her voice loud enough so that everyone could hear her over noises and workmen who were making noises nearby. She also gave us significant information about the architecture and sculptures that we encountered on our tour. She had studied art at the university level. I am so happy that I signed up for this walking tour. Laura deserves to be given a medal for being one of the best tour guides in Barcelona! I want to express my thanks to Laura for giving us one of the best tours of our Barcelona trip.

We felt this tour was a bit waste of our money. Very little actual knowledge was given us as to the history of the quarter. We didn’t really seem to have a defined path but just seemed to wander and spent entirely too much time on the Cathedral even though it is yes central to the quarter

Easily walkable & very succinct summation of the history of Barcelona. History, architecture & a museum—definite must do!

Pilar did a fabulous job of guiding us around the gothic quarter. She was friendly, professional and knowledgeable.

It was a great tour. Good history of the Old Gothic quarter. Some of them are now replica of the original. Our tour guide, Alberto did an excellent job in every detail of the history with such an awesome handy visuals of the past and the future. That is actually very helpful for us to know what was the past and where we are now standing. I would give him a 5-star. If you love history, take this tour. So much to learn more.

Best part of Barcelona. Definitely something that needs to be seen and with a tour guide. Absolutely amazing how big the area is. Love the squares and alleys. Breathtaking.

One of the best tours we have been on. Our guide was informative without giving too much info - just enough to digest. We moved from place to place seamlessly and managed to stay out of the heat / sun. A fascinating history and even our 8 yr old son managed the almost 2hrs without complaint!

Our tour guide did a wonderful job of sharing interesting information in a way that was memorable, relevant, and engaging. We were captivated for the entire two hour tour! The time flew by. So glad we did the tour because we would have missed so much just walking through the Gothic Quarter on our own.

We have been soaking up the Catalan culture for a week and this was not complete until we saw the Flamenco show. Our two girls (14, 11) love dancing and seeing the passion in the dancers, singers and musicians was incredible. The food (dinner) was great too, and there was so much! We practically rolled out of the venue with full bellies and hearts. Thank you! The show was amazing and is one of our Barcelona highlights!

We arrived 15 mins early waited for 45mins and guide didn't show. We are very disappointed as we where look I h forward to the tour. Now trying to get a refund

Great tour and very knowledgeable guide. The tour meets in the tourist office - FYI. Not a lot of walking, so don't let that discourage you. There is tons of interesting information.

Pilar was a great guide and we learned so much not only about the Gothic Quarter, but the history and art of Catalunya. It is a very interesting, informative and entertaining experience.

Commentary was too superficial;places shown were ok but no entrance to the Cathedral;some of the participants were sick and we ended up sick like them 2 days later😢!!!I would recommend a private tour with a passionate and knowledgeable guide

Our guide never showed up. We called the tour company and they gave us no answer as to why not. And just suggested we call the booking company (Viator) for a refund. Very unprofessional!!

Albert was AMAZING! He is so knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and genuinely passionate about the history of the Gothic Quarter. He made the 2-3 hours FLY by. The tour exceeded every single one of our expectations. Could not recommend more highly!

If you don’t have a tour guide you are walking around aimlessly not knowing what you’re looking at. You will learn a lot about the history of Barcelona.

Extremely knowledgeable tour guide and you could tell history was his passion. Some very interesting information throughout the tour. I would have preferred a little more walking and maybe a bit less talking but it was all good!

Our guide, Albert, was great. He is a historian and provided insights into many different aspects of the Gothic Quarter. He is also born in Barcelona

Our guide Pillah (sorry if that’s spelt incorrectly) was fantastic so informative without being boring or staid. We enjoyed every minute of the tour and the recommendations given for places to visit/eat/shop were invaluable

Pilar was a fantastic guide. She is very knowledgeable about history and art. We enjoyed exploring all the historic sites and local history in this fascinating part of the city. It is a lot of walking, but not too strenuous.

Very interesting with lots of opportunities for great photos! My favorite stops were inside the cathedral with the geese and the good luck turtle!

The best part was the knowledgeable tour Guide and the awesome views of Lisbon. I got to try gjora for the first time and tour was interesting.

My partner and I loved the Gothic Walking Tour. Our guide Pilar was excellent and we saw parts of the city we did not know existed. An added bonus was that the areas we walked in were quiet and tranquil which was such a lovely contrast to the rest of the city.

The area is fascinating and with the guide being a local she was able to give us more insight into the history of the area. The only slight drawback was I found her accent a little hard to understand which made me miss bits as I was trying to understand her previous sentence, could just be me though.

Very informative and knowledgeable guide who was also very pleasant to be around . Really enjoyed it and I’ve learned a lot . Barcelona is a fantastic place and the gothic quarter is mesmerising!
