Barcelona Cultural Walking Tour With Food & Wine Tasting

Moises is an outstanding and professional tour guide. His knowledge of Barcelona both historical and contemporary made for an engaging tour. We have had food tours from Seattle to Tokyo and Moises is one of the best.

Moisés was an absolute gem! He was so impressive with his ability to remember everyone’s name and orders, bravo my man! We visited 4 different restaurant/bars which we would have never found on our own. I did not enjoy my first visit to Barcelona and for my second visit I decided to try this wine and tapas tour and wow Moisès blew me away with the wonderful and authentic Catalan and Spanish culture. I learned SO MUCH and left with a full belly and a fun buzz. My husband and I came here as our first excursion to a honeymoon launch and Moises really put us on a fun & yummy path for our trip. The group of people were also so fun, it was a group of all like minded individuals, and at the end of the tour I felt like I had made 10 new friends. THANK YOU!

Barcelona Cultural Walking Tour was absolutely outstanding. This tour was extremely informative, beautifully paced, and such a memorable way to experience the city. The tapas and drinks were delicious, and they added the perfect local flavor to the cultural and historical experience. Alasdair was an exceptional guide. He was knowledgeable, engaging, thoughtful, and made the history of Barcelona come alive in a way that felt both meaningful and enjoyable. You can tell he truly cares about giving guests a rich and authentic experience. This is a must-do tour in Barcelona. My only recommendation is that everyone should book it as soon as they arrive, because it gives you such a great foundation for understanding and enjoying the city. The take-away guide is also an added bonus and a wonderful resource to keep exploring after the tour. Highly recommend!

We had the good fortune to spend 3 hours with Moises learning about Barcelona’s food traditions, the city’s history, and tasting some of its best food and drink. He is a positive and engaging person who is a joy to be with. He includes everyone in the conversation and genuinely cares about his clients having a fantastic experience. Time in Barcelona was all too short, but this itinerary covers a lot and made the absolute most of the time. The restaurant in Santa Caterina market had an eggplant dish that I am still dreaming about!

I highly recommend this tour, and our guide Moises. He gave us lots of history and local information, answered all our questions, and showed us some amazing food spots that we ended up going back to for full meals. He was fun and engaging and helped us see the authentic Barcelona. Every food and beverage we tried was delicious, and Moises did a great job of including our 10yo son even if the adults were sampling wine or vermouth. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and our time with Moises in Barcelona! !Gracias!

Three hours with knowledgeable, fun, energetic and super guide Moises. A very well spent afternoon where we got to understand more of Barcelona and its history plus taste very nice specialities.

Great tour from overall history to food choices. Your guide was wonderful. He had a great way of explaining history and making what we saw in our walking journey come alive. He also was very good at meeting everyone’s dietary needs and likes/dislikes.

We had a fantastic tour with Moises! He is very knowledgeable regarding all of Barcelonas history and took us to some great local spots. Our favorites included the local vermouth tasting and meats tasting in the market. You will not be disappointed booking this tour if you are interested in the full history of the city as well as trying some great tapas!

Tour started at 11am and turned out just my wife and I with tour guide Alisdair which was excellent as we were able to ask questions and it was like our own personal tour. Tour lasted three hours with a good mix of local produce in places we probably wouldn't have gone otherwise. Alisdair was very knowledgeable and although his origins are Scottish he was fluent in Spanish and before he had had his hair cut you could have mistaken him as a local. All in all an excellent tour on which we both learnt a lot of history and sampled some good local fare. Highly recommended.

I highly recommend this day tour. It was a fabulous way to learn a little history of Barcelona while enjoying local food and wine choices. We stopped at authentic and local places to experience the local cuisine. We tasted the aged Iberian ham, churros, papayas bravos, tapas, Spanish wine and house made vermouth. We are now spoiled after tasting the delicious vermouth from Bodega Vermut. Loved walking through the bustling food market to try different hams and fruit smoothies. Most of all, we enjoyed our guide Alasdair. He kept in touch with us prior to the tour and made the most of our time. He was very knowledgable about the local history and food. Alasdair was kind and patient with all of our questions. We had a great day with him and felt like we made a new friend.

We really enjoyed our tour with Moises! He shared a lot of interesting historical facts about the city that we didn’t know (even though we’ve been here several times before). The food was varied but all typical Catalonian. We enjoyed comparing the different Iberian hams, the vermouth and the potatoes bravas were all amazing! Really enjoyed our time and highly recommend this tour!

My wife and I booked a tour with Alasdair, who was a joy to walk around the city with. We were lucky enough to get a tour just the two of us and Alasdair, which made it more personal. Sounds like they normally keep groups small. Alasdair is well traveled and knew a lot about the history of Spain, Catalonia and the Roman influence on Barcelona. This tour also gave a better grasp of the city for future exploration; we would recommend planning this early on in your trip. They did a great job of choosing specific food and drink that represented Barcelona's local flavors. We were a big fan of the churros, vermouth, and patatas bravas!

Fantastic start to our few days in Barcelona. Moises was very informative and very easy to get along with, he also took our personal preferences into account. Two different parts to the tour; firstly the cultural part was very interesting and his recommendations on what else to visit whilst here was very helpful. Secondly the food and wine tastings; absolutely fantastic and ate and drank things that we would never have tried. The visit to Bodega Vermut being the highlight, home made vermouth and a tapas I’d never have tried, this is a hole in the wall near our hotel we’d never have found otherwise. Following his recommendations on where else to eat we went to Fabrica Moritz last night a brewery with fantastic beer and food. Well worth the 15 minute wait in the queue. Salut Moises

This was an excellent tour! Moises is so full of knowledge about Barcelona's history and culture. The food was so delicious and included many items we would likely not have tried on our own.

It has taken me a few weeks to write this review, and when I look back on my time in Barcelona, it's this walking tour with Moises that really stands out. It was easily one of my favorite days of our one-week trip. Not only was the tour filled with fascinating history, delicious tapas and drinks, and lots of great tips for getting around Barcelona as a Touristica, but Moises has a way of making you feel like you're being shown around the city by a friend-of-a-friend. I especially appreciated that with a heads up that I was vegan, he took so much care to make sure there were amazing options for me every step of the way (he even checked if the wines were vegan-friendly!!). Can't recommend this trip enough....I'd urge you to schedule it during the first few days of your trip, as it's a nice way to get to know the city, and you'll want to revisit some of the places Moises shares with you (we went back for the churros twice!!). <3

Moises was hands down the best tour guide we have ever had on our travels (From Alaska to Italy). He explained where we were walking (down to the symbols on the sidewalk that you wouldn't notice otherwise), what we were eating/drinking, and any questions in between. We had the best food and drink from truly local spots. I am giving a history lesson to family and friends back home; that's how informative and engaged we were on the tour.

Wonderful walking trip taking in all the main sights and attractions of the old city of Barcelona. Alasdair was an engaging, interesting and informative guide with just the right amount of chat. The food & drink stops were exceptional and we loved the fact that we got to see different markets and taste local food and drink. Would highly recommend this.
