Barcelona Authentic Paella And Sangria Cooking Class

Ari met us the door and it was the best cooking class we’ve done. Started off with a glass of bubbles then he took us back to our station where we smoked bread with garlic and tomato. Excellent! Then we moved on to our Pallea. I learned so much on how to make it and will start making it different from what I knew before. Sangria was amazing. We all gave him a 15 out of 10! We weren’t rushed very fun

We had a wonderful time! It was informative, tasty and fun!! We will take some of the skills we learned forward to everyday cooking.

Fernando is at the top of his game! Our family (of 5 adults) participated in this sangria and paella cooking workshop. It ended up being a private class which was still a lot of fun. Although initially a little tricky to find, the setting is unique and well worth the trip. The workshop was so well organized. The sangria and paella were delicious. Fernando who is warm and welcoming, created a party-like atmosphere.

The space and chef were great, but for the price I would have thought had a few more apps to make. We take cooking classes in other countries and usually there is more dishes made for the price point.

What a fun time! We cut veggies and calamari, we combined wine and fruits, and we stirred and created paella. It was wonderful. Tim, our chef, was knowledgeable and light hearted! We ended the night with a limoncello shot and access to the recipes. I would totally recommend this class anytime you are in Barcelona. Delicioso!

Fernando was wonderful! My husband and I took this class as the first of four regional cooking classes and it was the most amazing experience. The perfect way to start our trip. The restaurant is beautiful and the overall vibe was great. We enjoyed the music, the drinks, the lesson itself, our chef Fernando, and of course the food. It was just a chill and lovely way to spend the afternoon. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good food experience.

We had such an incredible experience at this cooking class in Barcelona! It was truly one of the highlights of our trip. The paella we made was easily one of the best we had during our entire visit—so fresh, flavorful, and authentic. On top of that, we got a wonderful surprise when our class was combined with another group, and we ended up learning how to make tapas as well. Everything was amazing, but I honestly can’t stop thinking about the croquettes—they were absolutely delicious! Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Barcelona. Great food, great atmosphere, and unforgettable memories with family.

What a fabulous night! My family booked this class as a nice activity in Barcelona and it exceeded our expectations. We were able to prepare the Sangria (wonderful!) and a quick Tapas (so good!), then we chopped up ingredients for the Paella. Tim was terrific - so nice! We never met the Chef, but he was very accommodating. Helpful hint -- if you prefer the chicken or vegetable Paella, instead of the seafood, please contact them prior to your class to let them know your preference. We were able to cook/mix the ingredients for the Paella - under the watchful eye of Tim. This is a real hands-on cooking class; you don't just watch someone else cook. The Paella was excellent and we had a terrific evening. I highly recommend this activity for both foodies and novices!

Such gracious host and delicious recipe! When another tour canceled because we were the only booking at that time slot, Foodie XP accepted our last minute reservation and welcomed us into their beautiful multi use space. They had a large dining area, full bar, professional kitchen, an outdoor cooking area and one of the best record collections! Fernando is super knowledgeable and you will be able to taste the passion he has in the meal you prepare. One of my top experiences in barcelona!

Fernando is the best! We had a hilarious group of French people with us which made it really fun. The paella and sangria were excellent and interesting to make. The venue is really cool/modern with great music. It was a great night.

Definitely worth the time and money! Fernando was an excellent teacher! Lots of good food and fun. Fernando let us make a chicken paella for a fish allergic member and the others of us made the usual seafood. Definitely a great experience!

This is a must do experience with your family or friends. The people at Roots Gastro Pub were amazing and made this a really fun event. The paella was so good and the sangria was a perfect drink to wash it all down! GREAT GREAT GREAT!!!

We had such a great experience! We had 8 in our group and there were 2 other people that joined our class! Lots of good food, fun and fellowship!

The Chef was patient and fun. He took the time to explain every part of the process and shared personal stories of various recipes. My daughter wanted to take notes so she could re-create the dish and he was helpful making sure she had it all. This was a highlight of our trip and would definitely recommend to anyone who loves to cook. Such a great experience!!

My sons and I had a great experience! Our chef was a wonderful teacher with an obvious love for the food and the preparation. In the end, the sangria and paella were delicious. If we make our way back to Barcelona some day, we will be right back in his kitchen!

It says you can cancel 24 hours prior. I booked the wrong date and tried to cancel. Couldn’t get anyone to respond. Called Viator help to try and cancel. Nothing!

Attended the 'Paella and Sangria Cooking Class' as part of my company retreat a couple of weeks ago. Absolutely loved it! Chef Cristina was super friendly and provided a lot of valuable information. It was a lot of fun and a great opportunity to spend quality time with co-workers and meet with other fellow travelers. The paella we prepared was really good. The space was clean and organized. Overall, a great experience. Would definitely recommend this class!

Everyone told me, when in Barcelona you must take a paella class. This went above and beyond what I expected. let me tell you, the setting was picture perfect! Our chef was entertaining and extremely knowledgeable. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.

The food was good and the chef was excellent. It was fun preparing, cooking and making sangria. 👍 But when we were booking we were promised a stunning rooftop expedience. But we ended up with a special event room with a small open outdoor space in an industrial building. We were surrounded by air conditioners and dined on a picnic table surrounded with patio turf. The venue was so disappointing for what we paid for. Definitely not a rooftop expedience!!🥲🥲 The venue contained no signage and we had difficulty locating it.

We had such a great evening with Christina who was a lot of fun and very helpful while teaching us how to cook an authentic Paella and Sangria! Both DELICIOUS! Highly recommend!

The Venue, staff and food were amazing! They all were so friendly and helpful and taught us a lot about making crusty bread with tomatoes., garlic and olive oil as well as really good Sangria and seafood Paella. I also had a foot injury and they were so kind and helpful with where to get it looked at after the class. All around great experience!

The experience was wonderful. The class was held at the flat of Alphonso. Very knowledgeable. We chopped up everything that would go into the sangria and paella. He actually cooked it. But it was nice watching him cook it. We also had gaspocco. I would definitely recommend. It was only 6 of us that made the experience very comfortable.

What a team !! Amazing space , only temporary as the new facilities are still under construction , ( can’t wait to pick on our next visit ). We had a lot of fun, the class was great we really kept the tips and was totally worth it ( Thanks Chef ),Ingredients were perfectly chosen and the afternoon flies by in the best way possible. Thank you to Martinho as nothing was ever to difficult to accommodate, to Bruno that took us from and back to Barcelona, and gave us the best laughs we could have about local culture and places to visit. An absolute yes to this guys. Keep going with the work, see you next time for sure.

Martin was extremely thoughtful in the planning and preparation. He offered insight and great information throughout our experience. We enjoyed our hands on cooking experience - pan con tomate, paella and sangria. His love and passion for cooking are evident. I can't say enough about the paella!!! The setup was ideal, the environment was fun and engaging and Martin is a dynamic host. We would certainly do this again.

This activity was not at all as we expected. The location was moved last minute. The change was billed as an upgrade to a premium experience and location, which it was not. The chef, Martinho, and his helper were engaging and so much fun. All 20+ of us were hanging out and some of us had an opportunity to stir, chop, and mix. The location provided very little protection from the blistering sun. The facilities were inadequate. While I learned a lot about making pallela, not everybody in my party had that opportunity. We were also not provided options for anything other than seafood pallela. As it was, the experience would have been absolutely worth it at 50 to 60% of the price.

This was a wonderful experience! Chef Tommy was a great entertaining instructor and since the restaurant wasn’t ready we were taken to an alternate venue in a breathtaking garden! I can not say enough wonderful things about it!

The setting overlooking the Mediterranean was lovely. Our chef, Tommy, was engaging and fun. We learned how to make tomato/olive oil spread on bread, sangria, and then paella—a ‘hands on’ class where our small group of 6 all participated. Finally, we sat down and enjoyed a delicious meal in a beautiful setting. A great experience, out of the busy hustle-bustle of Barcelona. Loved it!

We planned our entire stay In Barcelona around the paella and sangria class. Remember, you must book your reservations at least 30 days in advance to secure the excursions and times that you want you may not get it. So, when are class was canceled the day of, we were highly disappointed. The reason: we were the only ones that booked the class. Luckily, I thought, we were able to move some things around in our itenerary to join their other class the following day. It was farther away, but they were going to arrange and pay for travel. Awesome pivot, right? Nope!! Again, they canceled this time, within a few hours of the meet time! Needless to say, we were beyond frustrated and disappointed at this point. I was livid. Not enough time to re-plan and it was our last evening in Barcelona. What a let down! And the kicker is, the reason was the same; the group that was scheduled for the class cancelled so it was just us. I am not sure how to protect yourself from this, but try if you can.
