Enjoy panoramic views of Barcelona and the port
Passeig de Gràcia is Barcelona’s most elegant boulevard, linking Plaça de Catalunya with the Gràcia district. Known for its luxury boutiques and Modernist architecture, it is home to landmarks such as Casa Batlló and Casa Milà. Wide sidewalks, distinctive mosaic paving, and grand façades make it one of the city’s most prestigious avenues.
Port Olímpic is the marina area developed for the 1992 Olympic Games. Located between Barceloneta Beach and Nova Icaria Beach, it serves as the harbor master’s office and administrative center for the port. The surrounding area features yachts, waterfront restaurants, and a lively seaside promenade popular for walking and cycling.
Sagrada Família is Barcelona’s most iconic landmark, designed by Antoni Gaudí. This extraordinary basilica blends Gothic and Art Nouveau forms, with intricate façades and a luminous interior inspired by nature. Its towering spires and symbolic details make it one of the most remarkable architectural works in the world. We visit this remarkable church from the outside (free) and we can also purchase skip-the-line tickets for you if you wish to visit inside at the end of the tour. Price is 26 Euros per person. Most guests prefer to visit from outside but if you wish to add this option, please contact us after booking.
Casa Batlló is one of Antoni Gaudí’s most imaginative creations on Passeig de Gràcia. Redesigned in 1904, the building is famous for its colorful mosaic façade, bone-like balconies, and a roof shaped like a dragon’s back. Inside, flowing lines, natural light, and marine-inspired details showcase Gaudí’s distinctive Modernist style.
Plaça d’Espanya is one of Barcelona’s largest and most important squares, built for the 1929 International Exhibition. It is marked by the twin Venetian Towers and sits at the foot of Montjuïc, near the Magic Fountain and the former bullring, now the Arenas shopping center. The square serves as a major transport hub and a grand gateway to the Montjuïc area.
Casa Amatller is a prominent Modernist building on Passeig de Gràcia, designed in 1898 by architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch. Its distinctive stepped gable façade, inspired by Flemish Gothic architecture, contrasts with Gaudí’s neighboring Casa Batlló. Rich decorative details and sculpted stonework reflect the wealth and taste of the Amatller chocolate-making family who commissioned it.
Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya (MNAC) is housed in the grand Palau Nacional on Montjuïc hill. The museum is renowned for its outstanding collection of Romanesque frescoes, as well as Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, and modern Catalan art. Its elevated position also offers panoramic views over Barcelona from the terraces.
La Mansana de la Discòrdia, meaning “Block of Discord,” refers to a famous stretch of Passeig de Gràcia where leading Modernist architects competed through bold designs. The contrasting façades and decorative styles earned the block its nickname, making it one of Barcelona’s most striking showcases of Catalan Modernisme.
La Pedrera, officially known as Casa Milà, is one of Antoni Gaudí’s most iconic Modernist buildings on Passeig de Gràcia. Completed in 1912, it is famous for its undulating stone façade and surreal rooftop chimneys. The innovative structure, natural light-filled courtyards, and flowing forms reflect Gaudí’s distinctive architectural vision.
L’Anella Olímpica de Montjuïc is the main Olympic complex built for the 1992 Barcelona Games. Located on Montjuïc hill, it includes the Olympic Stadium (Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys), Palau Sant Jordi, and surrounding open spaces. Today, it hosts major sporting events, concerts, and public gatherings, offering wide views over the city.
Plaça de Catalunya is Barcelona’s central square and main meeting point, linking the historic old town with the modern Eixample district. Surrounded by shops, cafés, and major avenues such as La Rambla and Passeig de Gràcia, it serves as a key transport hub and a lively gateway to the city.
Visit the National Park of Montserrat - admission ticket included. Montserrat is a dramatic mountain range about one hour from Barcelona, known for its unique serrated rock formations and panoramic views. It is home to the Benedictine monastery of Santa Maria de Montserrat, which houses the revered Black Madonna (La Moreneta), Catalonia’s patron saint. The area combines natural beauty, spiritual significance, and excellent hiking opportunities.
Abadía de Montserrat is a Benedictine monastery founded in the 11th century, dramatically set within the Montserrat mountains. It is one of Catalonia’s most important spiritual sites and home to the revered Black Madonna (La Moreneta). The abbey also features a basilica, a renowned boys’ choir, and sweeping views over the surrounding landscape.
El Born is one of Barcelona’s most atmospheric neighborhoods, known for its narrow medieval streets, boutique shops, lively cafés, and vibrant nightlife. Blending history and creativity, it is home to landmarks such as Santa Maria del Mar and offers a mix of local culture, artisan stores, and a relaxed yet trendy vibe just steps from the old city center.
Santa Maria del Mar is a striking 14th-century Catalan Gothic church in the El Born district of Barcelona. Built between 1329 and 1383 by the city’s merchants and shipbuilders, it is known for its pure architectural lines, soaring columns, and luminous stained-glass windows. The interior feels unusually open and harmonious, making it one of the finest examples of Catalan Gothic architecture in Spain.

Great tour with Tatiana as our guide They picked us up from the ship and we went to Monserrat for our first time If you have not been there you should definitely put it on your list Then we went to the Sagrada and got to walk around the neighborhood We have been to Barcelona many times and this was one of the best days ever
Excellent trip with Alex great to see another area of Barcelona
We did a full day tour that included a trip to monserat. Our driver was named Hugo. He was outstanding, as was the tour of barcelona. We had four people in our tour and were toured in a mercedes van. Everything was top notch and hugo was wonderful..
An excellent in depth tour of most of the important highlights of both cities. Christona, our tour guide gave a much better outside tour for example of La Familia than the tour we had several years ago.,she took us around all sides of this magnificent structure and explained everything about each side. Our best tour yet.
We have 26 ports and this by far was the best and greatest tour that we’ve ever taken (400+ sea days). Our guide, Marta, was just fantastic. Both in Montserrat and in Barcelona, she was a wealth of knowledge and encouraged our questions. I don’t see how any tour could surpass this. We just hope we have some that could equal it. We cancelled this tour and then subsequently booked it again. They refunded us without any difficulty and helped us with rebooking.
We had an excellent day with Spain Day Tours visiting Montserrat, followed by a lovely cava tasting. Our guide’s knowledge was outstanding and made the whole experience so interesting and enjoyable. It was a wonderful journey and one we’ll always remember. We would highly recommend this tour.
So, where do I begin………. I booked two tours with Spain day tours. The first tour we booked at Granada for Alhambra. Our tour guide Carlos not only did a good job. He did a great job. He explained every part of Alhambra in great detail and answered every single question anybody had regardless of how insignificant it was. He was truly articulate, personable and friendly. He explained every facet of every building that we went into. He showed us where to look for the best views and where to stand for the best photos. He did not rush us. And he gave us ample time in every location that we went to. He never made it a race. He made everything a stroll as he explained what we were looking at and what the meaning behind it was. He truly truly is an asset to your company and because of him I have recommended your company to several people I know going to Spain. Our second tour that I booked with your company was in Barcelona. Unfortunately, we missed our first tour because we were stuck in 2 1/2 hours of customs lines. The tour guide was very understanding and kept in touch with me during this time until we finally said please don’t wait any longer for us. Go ahead with the people you have. At the end of the day it took us 45 minutes longer in line at customs after our phone call with the tour guide. You were very quick to contact us and apologize, even though it wasn’t your fault for the events that happened. You not only apologized when it wasn’t your fault you offered us a tour free of charge the next day for a full day instead of the half-day that we previously booked. I could not thank you enough for that because we were planning on going to Monserrat ourselves. The day of the tour arrives and your company decided they would pick us up at our hotel which was not along the beaten track. We can’t thank you enough for that. Martha, the tour guide and Willie the driver were super friendly and could not have been more helpful to us. As we drove through Barcelona, we picked up more guests for the tour. Martha introduced everybody to everyone and she learned something about each and every one of us at every stop. When the van was full, she introduced us all again, so everybody knew each other’s name and where they were from. From there, we headed off to Montserrat with Willie our driver. Willie was the most fantastic driver on those tiny tiny roads that I’ve ever seen. Martha narrated and pointed out everything along the way to Montserrat. Upon our arrival at Montserrat, Martha continued to explain every part of the compound to us and gave us a tour of the grounds and walked us to the chapel so we could tour it on our own with personal reflections. We were able to hear the bells ringing we were able to see where the monks lived. She pointed out every aspect of every building that was mind blowing. Afterward, we descended the mountain and she was taking us on a tour of the museum on our way back into Barcelona. Once in Barcelona, she walked us through the Gothic quarter up and down all the tiny streets, showing us every shop and Bar and told us places where to eat, and it was thoroughly enjoyable After that, we went to Sagrada Familia. We walked around the entire complex. She explained every side of the Sagrada Familia in minute detail. We had been there the day before and had a tour however, her explanations were much more vibrant in our minds. Your company hires entire teams of professionals who are remarkable. Every single one gave so much of their time and energy that at the end of the tours, they must go home completely exhausted. We cannot thank you enough for your generosity in offering us the replacement tour and we cannot thank you enough for the wonderful experience we had in Spain.
Our tour included pickup at the cruise terminal, a trip to Montserrat, a visit to a Cava winery, and drop-off at our hotel. It was a full day filled with great conversation and experiences. Our guide and driver were both very helpful throughout the day. Great value and I would book tours through this company again.
Great experience. Cruise terminal pickup was easy, exactly like the provided email/text indicated. Francesco was fun, professional and informative. During transits, he would stop talking, giving us time to sleep, which we all badly needed. While the weather wasn’t cooperative, we still enjoyed Montserrat. Do try the funicular, it was scary and fun. And try the cliques bread, delicious! Barcelona is beautiful.
Great knowledgeable tour guide. The sights were beautiful. Unfortunately there was fog on the mountain so it wasn’t possible to see the place where the Black Madonna was discovered. But the Abby and Monastery were breathtaking. Would definitely recommend! Park Guell and the Sagrada Familia are always beautiful and seeing the architecture created by Gaudi is always a treat.
Fantastic tour. Good pace, excellent information. Marta was one of the best guides we had on our trip.
We were picked up from our cruise port with our luggage and had a lovely tour of Barcelona. Our guide/driver was knowledgeable and friendly. We were dropped off at our hotel after the tour. It was a great and very affordable way to see some sights, not worry about your luggage and getting to your hotel. Would highly recommend this tour.
Great excursion with lovely guide Martha
I wanted to take a moment to share how much we enjoyed our wonderful day exploring Spain with our tour guide, Magdeline. Please forgive me if I have spelled her name incorrectly! She was fantastic. Her communication was clear and easy to understand, and we especially loved exploring Montserrat and Spain. Seeing the beautiful sights while hearing the history and explanations behind them gave us a much deeper understanding and appreciation of the area. The entire experience was memorable, enjoyable, and very well done. I would highly recommend this excursion to others! Thank you again for helping make our time in Spain so special. We look forward to exploring with you again!
We very much enjoyed our Barcelona tour and had a wonderful experience. Our tour guide was excellent—knowledgeable, friendly, and went out of his way to make everything as easy and convenient as possible for us. The entire tour was very well organized, ran on time, and allowed us to enjoy the highlights of Barcelona without ever feeling rushed. We truly appreciated the attention to detail and would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Barcelona. David
This was my first time booking with Barcelona Day tours but I felt comfortable immediately as communication was clear from the beginning. We booked a small group tour from cruise port to Montserrat with drop off at our Barcelona hotel. A couple days before the tour, I received a confirmation of our tour with pick up time & instructions. When I disembarked, I sent a note on what’s app to confirm where we were which was sent the driver who found us among the many passengers waiting for organized rides. Our driver (wish I could remember his name) was originally from Brazil but clearly loved Barcelona and the surrounding area. He was personable & informative and even provided tips for restaurants near our hotel. He made sure we got to Montserrat early enough so we could get into the church to tour before mass (it was a Sunday) and explained where we could take the funicular to the top of the mountain. It was my second visit to Montserrat and a first for my friends. I could spend a full day there just walking around & enjoying the view. I will definitely book with Barcelona Day Tours again. Great service, excellent staff, communication and follow-up.
The instructions for the port pick up was great. The guide was in front and center ready to guide us through the city. it was great that they handled the luggage while we toured the town. The guide was great as well. Easy to understand and made sure we were all accounted for in crowded situations. We only took the half day excursion but wished maybe for the full day. Our hotel was out of their range asked us to keep the taxi receipt, and send it in once we got home. They refunded the money as promised in a timely manner. The guide also helped us get the taxi to our hotel.
Our tour was absolutely fabulous. Marta was incredibly personable, professional, and informed. She was considerate of folks who chose not to keep up the pace and take a rest. Those of us who were with her for the entire tour had an absolutely fantastic day. Marta’s knowledge of Montserrat and Sagrada Familia was top-notch. She pointed out details we would never have noticed. I love the convenience of being picked up at the ship with our luggage and dropped off at the hotel. I would absolutely recommend this tour to others. Five stars all the way!
From the time I read an amazing review about this company I sent an email. I have to say they were truly amazing in responding to my emails, accommodating my many change requests and questions. They kept their words and kept to the planned timings on the day of the tour. Our guide Christina was knowledgeable and extremely friendly. Thank you for a great day spent with many memories.
We were on a cruise last week and finished it in Barcelona but our flights were not till late that evening so decided to make the most of our last day and booked a family excursion with Barcelona day tours I emailed them and arranged to be collected from the port of the cruise where we were met by Hugo we were a family of 6 and his tour bus has sufficient space for all our luggage Hugo was amazing showing us all the amazing sites of the beautiful city and went above and beyond walking with us a showing us it all we would never have been able to c so much without Hugo and his knowledge of the history of the buildings and his city was amazing we learned so much Would definitely recommend booking a day trip with Barcelona day tours they were amazing thanks again Hugo
We had an amazing time in Barcelona and enjoyed the tour. We were appreciative of the patience when our flight was delayed leaving so we were late and then the customs line was long before we got our luggage. Timing of the Montserrat tickets worked out and our driver was communicative about the plan and prompt with picking us up when we were done exploring. It is apparent Nicholas wants to share information, facts and knowledge about Barcelona - we appreciated his narration and stopping at the various Barcelona sites. He was also understanding when we asked towards the end to cut the tour short and drop us off at the hotel - jet lag was hitting us all and it was time for a cat nap. Dory's was great to work with when understanding tour options and top notch with communication and coordination especially when we asked to add two more people and they had to find a larger vehicle. They were always timely and responsive! Thank you so much for making our visit easy and without stress.
Simply put our experience with Barcelona Day Tours was phenominal! The picked us up at the airport, arranged a winery tour, a visit to Montserrat, and to La Sagada Familia. Every aspect of their service was just perfect, well planned and no surprises. They delivered great value, would 100% recommend to anyone considering a trip to Barcelona!
Our family of 9 (including 4 teens) had a wonderful experience on the 2 tours booked with Barcelona Day Tours. The tour guide picked us up at the airport upon arrival and we toured the major sites during of 4 hour tour of Barcleona. The tour accommodated the seniors in our group who have mobility issues. We were dropped off at our hotel at the completion of the tour. Our second tour of Montserrat began when our guide picked us up at the cruise port and again dropped us off at our hotel. The tours work perfectly when you have an early arrival! The tour guides were outstanding! I highly recommend Barcelona Day Tours - great value and a very memorable experience for all!
My partner and I had a great time on the tour. Our guide was very informative and helpful and gave us a good background of the sites, was funny and also gave us context on the daily life of people in Barcelona. The ride was very comfortable and spacious and our drive was very well experiences. I would definitely recommend this trip to others in the future! I booked the tour directly with the company and was very happy with their prompt response and clarifications of any questions I had!
Our tour of Barcelona & Montserrat was fantastic! Our guide Joao made the tour efficient and comfortable with pickups and drop offs clear. He drove through city traffic smoothly while providing interesting history of the area. Joao's knowledge of Barcelona and area history was impressive. We were able to see the amazing Sagrata Familia Church, a site that photos can't truly capture. An excellent restaurant was chosen for lunch that let us sample local cuisine. We wished for more time in Barcelona to extend our tour.
I was very happy with the communication with the agency representatives and specifically with Dory. They arranged quickly for the tour even it was a last minute request. The tour with our driver and guide João was also perfectly managed. Thank you, guys!
You will not be disappointed. Gracious host/driver. Comfortable and clean vehicle. Go for it!
We recently booked a tour through Spain Day Tours. We did the Barcelona and Montserrat tour for our family of 5. Our driver Hugo was prompt in picking us up at our Airbnb. He was very professional and accommodating. Our van was clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend Spain Day Tours for all your tour needs.
I booked a semi private tour with Spain Day Tours. Joel picked us up at hotel (in a very nice vehicle) and drove us to Monterserrat. We did the St. Joan Funicular and they included tickets to the Cathedral with the Black Madonna. Very memorable. Highly recommend Spain Day Tours.
This is the second time we’ve used this family company. Very professional and accommodating. Drivers / guides are very proud of their city and you’ll definitely enjoy the day and the history/places of the city. Highly recommended!
Our guide picked us up at the cruise ship pier on time. Communication/instructions before the tour was very well done. Our guide was friendly & knowledgeable and made our tour fun and interesting. Our group was only 6 people which was very nice. We had plenty of time at Monserrat and afterwards we did Cava wine tasting at a beautiful winery. Our guide arranged for a lovely lunch at a local eatery. He was kind enough to drop us all off at our respective hotels. It was a great tour and a great day.
We were picked up at our hotel and joined a small group in a comfortable suburban van for the day-long tour. Our driver/guide was knowledgeable, thoughtful and considerate. The day went quickly! And we gained a deeper understanding and appreciation of this beautiful city. There were several beautiful vistas and great photo opportunities. Highly recommend.
We used Spain Day Tours for our recent stay in Barcelona after disembarking from a transatlantic cruise. They were very easy to contact and answered all my questions ahead of time. We had a small group of 7 for a Montserrat and Barcelona tour. We did not have a separate guide, just the driver who was very informative and easy to work with, often offering us options of what we wanted to do. Montserrat was amazing and although he couldn't go in with us, he directed us on the best way to see the Black Madonna and then visit the remaining chapels. We went to Park Guell and he was able to direct us to the main sites. It's amazing! Then we toured Montjuic and the main sites in Barcelona, making several stops along the way. Our friend was not feeling well and he was very considerate of her needs as well. We also used Spain day tours and their sister company Italy day tours for some excursions while on the ship and we will definitely be using them again in the future.
It was great. Picked up at port with suitcases and dropped off afterwards at hotel. Very informative. Marta was great! Love her personality.
Exceptional tour. Loved the convenient pick-up at our door and small group. Very comfortable van. Joel was fantastic - friendly and knowledgeable. We will book again with this company.
Would have given this a 5 star had we had more time at Monserrat. Guide was great. Had hoped to be able to do train or funicular. Just not enough time
I highly recommend this tour. It’s a must see while in Barcelona.
If you have just a short time in Barcelona and want to get an overview then this a great tour for you. We did a 1-day (8 hour) tour to Monserrat and Barcelona and were delighted. I have hesitation in recommending this excursion.
We had a fabulous day with Spain Day tours. Anna, our guide, was very knowledgable and explained lots of history and our driver, Gusman, was superb in all the traffic. It was so nice to be collected from the cruise ship and spend the day touring without worring about luggage and then we were delivered to the airport, perfect!
This was an excellent day tour. A must see! Montserrat is a beautiful Benedictine monastery and Basilica located in Catalonia, Spain, a short scenic ride outside of Barcelona. Mark, our guide, was very kind and knowledgeable. We had plenty of time to explore the monastery before we returned to Barcelona. We did a city highlights tour which took us by the exterior of La Sagrada Familia. (Optional cathedral tour) and also took us to Park Guell, (optional tour) a very interesting and unique park in Barcelona which was well worth the visit. This was an excellent way to explore the unique history and culture of Barcelona and Montserrat. I highly recommended this tour!
Our Sept9/25 “Barcelona and Monserrat tour” could not have been better. There was excellent communication regarding the pickup and drop off and Willie was an expert driver on the city streets and the hilly roads up the mountain to the Monserrat. Marta (I hope I have her name correct) was outstanding! She is so knowledgeable and we learned so much about Barcelona, its history, the architecture and everyday life. She really made our tour special. She taught us so much about the Monserrat, Gaudì’s work at the Park Guell and the Sagrada Familia. Your tour is definitely 5/5 stars! Thank you for helping us fall in love with Barcelona. We will be back again some day. Mary and Gerry Ducharme (from Canada).
Magda Perez was fantastic. An excellent day out, even in the rain! Ended at the cathedral. Thanks for the restaurant suggestion we had a lovely meal before returning to our hotel.
I very much enjoyed my tour with Joao. Communication was excellent when making the booking and confirming the day before. It was good to be able to contact the company and Joao on WhatsApp before and during the tour. Joao was an excellent tour guide and driver.
Did the prive tour of Barcelona and Montserrat. Our tour guide Fabio did an excellent job. He was very knowledgeable and super friendly!
We had a private tour for our family of 3. Christian was our guide/driver and he was amazing! Well planned out and full of fun activities. We were driven around in a very nice and comfortable vehicle. The tour accommodated our needs and catered to what we wanted to see. It was amazing and would definitely do it again.
I joined the Montserrat & Barcelona full day tour on Nov 3, 2024 prior to my cruise holiday. Starting from enquiring about the tour and registering to secure the spots of the tour via email, the staffs are very responsive and reply to my enquiry promptly. The tour I joined was a small group tour ( 6 people) . The lady driver was very professional and provided us a lot of information and historical background of the places that we visit. There are lots of places to see during this full day tour. We also enjoy the Tapas place that we went for lunch. We all had a great time and would like to recommend the tour to visitors who are planning to Barcelona in the near future.
Let me start off by saying this was my favorite tour from our 15-day trip and it was all because of our terrific tour guide. He was the absolute best, and we have never had so much fun in a short amount of time. The custom tour was perfect for my physical ability and the pace of the tour was ideal. I cannot express how highly I recommend our tour guide and this company. The tour was very well coordinated, including the communication, from scheduling through the follow-up process. In fact, I have already recommended this tour guide and tour to several people on our cruise. Thank you again for making out trip to Barcelona so memorable!
Our tour was actually Montserrat w/ Monastery in the morning followed by an afternoon at a high-end cava winery. We were very pleased, and impressed, by the tour from beginning to end, as well as with the pre-tour communications. We were picked up at the port coming off a cruise and dropped at our hotel near the Sants station at the end of the tour. The constant communication on pick-up was much appreciated and everything went very smoothly. Having WhatsApp on your phone is a big help. The tour itself was well planned and well-executed. Eva was a hoot, and is a great guide. David was a pleasant and conscientious driver. The cava winery was a real treat and beyond what we expected. It also was a perfect place to hide from the unseasonal rain affecting the region that week.
We did the Montserrat and Barcelona City Tour with Hugo and it was a fantastic experience! We were in a small group with 5 others. Hugo was very helpful and informative all along the way. Great way to spend the one full day we had to visit the area before our cruise.
