Not the 5-star experience and service that I was expecting from EDITION hotels! We were in Barcelona from 9/21/26 - 9/25/26. We had 2 rooms reserved at The Barcelona EDITION, however, the rooms provided were on a floor with no A/C working at the hotel (4th floor) and they didn’t have an estimate of it being fixed - we were told definitely not until the next day. They expected us to stay in rooms that were 28 degrees Celsius, with our 2 kids ages 7 and 5 (not connecting rooms either by the way). This was a horrible check-in and room experience after travelling 13 hours by plane. The manager did not come to speak to us at all regarding the issue, we were simply told by the front desk staff that we can either keep the rooms or be refunded. As a Titanium Elite Bonvoy member and Ambassador, I’ve never experienced this poor level of service, and I’ve stayed at 3-stars to 5-stars for work and vacation travel. I will not be recommending EDITION hotels as a brand in general, doesn’t seem to align with the expectations I have for travelling with my family. That’s how bad I think this experience was, we weren’t even acknowledged by a manager; we spent 2 hrs total in the lobby as we sought other options. I understand it’s probably not a completely family-friendly hotel, but I didn’t feel like it was a hospitable environment even as we entered the hotel. We opted for Hotel Arts Barcelona instead, feel free to read my review for that hotel, but it was literally a night and day experience. Hotel Arts Barcelona is truly a 5-star experience, beautifully designed, staff are amazing, and rooms are pristine. I would highly recommend it and I would definitely bring my family back to Hotel Arts, not Barcelona EDITION.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional Kindness and Understanding - Thank You, Mireia I am incredibly grateful to The Barcelona EDITION, and especially to Mireia, for the kindness, understanding, and compassion shown to us when I was unexpectedly unable to travel to Barcelona. Having to cancel such a highly anticipated trip was incredibly disappointing, but Mireia made a difficult situation so much easier. She was understanding of our circumstances and kindly assisted with refunding our stay. Her genuine compassion and professionalism left a lasting impression on us. This experience showed us the true meaning of exceptional hospitality. Even though we were unable to experience the hotel this time, the way we were treated has made us even more certain that The Barcelona EDITION will be our hotel of choice when we return to Barcelona. Thank you so much, Mireia, and the entire team, for your kindness and understanding. We will definitely be back and look forward to finally staying with you.
One of the most amazing hotels I’ve ever stayed at, and not just because of the rooms. The staff is incredible. So welcoming and warm. Can’t say enough good things about the people that work here from the front desk, to the housekeeping, to the restaurant staff. Top notch across the board. Rooms are small but very nice. Rooftop is very trendy feeling with decent snacks. If you get a chance to have breakfast downstairs, do it. The eggs Benedict were delicious. Location is also excellent and walking distance to a ton of restaurants, bars, shops, etc. Will definitely stay here again when we’re back in Barcelona.
Our rooftop bar experience was perfect. The view and vibe was exactly what we were looking for. Jamie looked after our table. He was so kind and hospitable. We had a great time getting to know a little bit about him. Thank you for a great cocktail session! We can’t wait to come back.
The physical property is beautiful and the staff is genuinely top-tier and truly understand how to curate an elevated guest experience. However, there are two significant operational failures that feel entirely out of place for a hotel of this caliber (and this price point): 1. The Rooftop Audio: Whoever is responsible for the poolside playlist has missed the mark completely. The current selection is abysmal, jarringly inconsistent with the brand’s otherwise sophisticated aesthetic. Sitting by the pool feels less like a chic urban retreat and more like waiting in a cool grandma’s parlor. When I raised this with the staff, I was told it’s "impossible" to change - a baffling admission for a boutique property. For a hotel that prides itself on atmosphere, the audio needs an immediate pivot toward a chill, modern, and cohesive vibe (think Rufus Du Sol or similar). 2. Poolside Capacity: The math simply doesn’t work. Having only four loungers for a 100-room property is a poor ratio that creates unnecessary friction and desperation among guests. I’ve personally witnessed people hovering like vultures waiting for a bed to open up. If space is at a premium, management needs to be more creative. Utilizing the under-occupied table area in front of the pool for additional loungers (where currently no one sits unless they are completely out of options) would be a logical and immediate fix to alleviate this bottleneck. It is a lovely hotel, but these two issues need urgent attention to match the high standard set by the rest of the experience.
