We arrived at Room Mate Carla and were told by the gentleman at reception — I believe his name was Javier, although the hotel can easily check — that our room was on the 2nd floor, next to the fitness room. We asked if we could move to the 7th floor, where my wife had stayed before. After a **“very thorough” search**, we were told this was impossible because the hotel was full. Oddly enough, the reception was empty at the time, so the explanation was somewhat difficult to understand. The room was very hot, so we turned on the air conditioning — which sounded like we had been given a room next to Barcelona Airport, ensuring the **full Barcelona experience, day and night**. We went back to reception, and after an inspection, we were suddenly offered two options: put up with the noise or move to the 7th floor. Funny how that room appeared after all. What was most disappointing was the attitude. We were told, *“you’ll have to carry all your things,”* with no offer of assistance, while he seemed more interested in WhatsApp than helping us. Problems happen in hotels; what matters is how they are handled. Unfortunately, this kind of interaction matters because reception is the face of the hotel. One poor experience can overshadow the excellent work of colleagues in housekeeping, maintenance and the kitchen. And there was plenty to appreciate. The cleaning was excellent and done with real care every day, while the common areas were clearly being maintained well. The rooms, however, are starting to look tired and could use a refresh, and I found the beds too soft. Overall, a hotel with good people and clear effort behind it, but our experience would have been much better with a more helpful and empathetic welcome.

First time in Barcelona. Location fantastic. Rooms airy and cool. Staff friendly. Alejandro on the breakfast shift was extrememely friendly and attentive. Disappointed with desk staff. Requests not folllowed up. No complimentary wine in the room. Even though i rang to reception and it was forgotten. Would have been extra special if the staff had acknowlwdged my birthday during my stay as i was alone here. Previous experience staying in hotels would have made this hotel extra special. Beautiful city. Cannot fault hotel on its appearance, amenities.
This was a really nice hotel. Very central but yet quiet. We loved our stay here and the room were clean and Tidy and also big. I’ve slept like a baby. Arnau and Adrian from The reception were very nice and accommodating too, there were a third one but I forgot his name. Overall I’d give 10/10 hotel
As usual great stay. Great neighborhood. Walking distance to eat local tapas, international food, lots and lots of coffee shops. Toiletries and daily house keeping are up to the mark. Hotel never disappoints. Best stay ever.
Perfect location, 10-minute walk to Sagrada Família, Casa Batllo, and La Pedrera. I paid for a standard room, but they gave me a basic interior room. The safe doesn’t work. Breakfast was good, with lots of varieties, but latte and macchiato from the coffee machines are lukewarm. There are fruit flies circling the pastries and there are a few in my room too.
