Very nice Marriott property. Even met co. President David Marriott. Bellmen coming and going could be more efficient and listen to their customer. The tall doorman ("I'm NOT a bellman," he barked) had an attitude problem and tried to rush along the process of leaving when we (and our luggage) weren't ready.

The hotel is in a very good location. The check-in and check-out processes were very easy and quick, and the staff were attentive, friendly, and helpful. The rooms were comfortable. There was a little confusion regarding the WiFi. Apparently, if you are not a member, you need to ask for a code. I thought I was already a member, but it turned out I wasn't. Anyway, we already had our own internet connection, so we didn't follow up on this. The breakfast was more than adequate, with a good selection. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. The hotel is also family-friendly and suitable for guests travelling with children.
The hotel has some decent design features, is well located and the staff is reaponsive. Some if the services kike the gym are quiite good most are just ok. Breakfast service is quite chaotic. Likely due to all the cruise passengers the hotel has which also overwhelms other service. Rooms are very small, much smaller than similarly priced competitors. the hotel is rated at 5 stars and hard to see how, in reality somewhere between 3 and 4 stars although priced like a 5 star. Better options available for less money.
This is a well located, beautiful hotel. Fabulous breakfast and great staff. There are a couple of things to be aware of: first, there is no dining room. There's a lobby bar and a rooftop bar and a fishbowl swimming pool. Because there is no dining room the rooftop bar was closed 3 of the four afternoons we were there for a private event. This means no pool for your family, a real problem in the summer heat! Second, the lobby furniture is designed to be attractive, but not to sit on - nearly impossible. We paid $$$$ for a family room, saw lots of families, but the hotel apparently wants to attract more business events, sacrificing their customers' enjoyment.
The hotel had so many great qualities we would give the experience 4.5 stars. The staff were very helpful, polite and tried to get to know each guest. Kudos to Mariana at the front desk who gave great recommendations for restaurants, ways to get around and respond to any hotel concerns we had. Johanna gave us a great recommendation for our beach day! Mohammed greeted any time he saw us and chatted with us when time permitted in the lobby! We appreciated that personal touch. Made our hotel experience memorable. The hotel location was perfect! City center blocks from major shopping, excellent restaurants and many major attractions . Walkable area, but easy to catch a taxi or metro which was a block away. Would plan to stay here again when we visit in the future. Our one complaint was when we arrived around 4 pm our room was not ready and we had to wait at least another hour for them to find us another acceptable room. The shower design was not ideal because water can leak out of the shower area on to the other areas in the bathroom. Still small negatives that did not dampen our experience .
