Negresco Princess

The rooms are lovely and so are the staff. My room seemed to be cleaned with a really strong smelling cleaning product which was a shame as it lingered for over 24 hours, the pool is not really worth talking about – it’s very small and there are no loungers or areas to lay/relax by the pool. It’s very cramped for the size of the hotel. You just have to sit on a chair beside a bin which is not ideal.

We recently stayed at Negresco Princess Barcelona and overall our experience was very mixed. The positive side of the hotel was definitely the location, the rooftop area, the breakfast and especially the restaurant food, which was genuinely very good. The reception staff were also generally polite and helpful. However, the cleanliness standards were honestly far below what we expected from a 4-star hotel. Even after housekeeping cleaned the room, many areas still remained visibly dirty. The bathroom sink and fixtures had stains and buildup that looked like they had not been properly deep cleaned for a long time. After accidentally spilling some coffee in the sink, the stains were still there even after the room had supposedly been cleaned the next day. The smoked mirror wall behind the bed was also covered in visible dust that became very obvious at night when the lights were on. The biggest disappointment was our jacuzzi upgrade for the final night. We paid extra for the upgrade, but when we entered the room, the jacuzzi contained visible hair and had clearly not been cleaned properly before our arrival. The initial response from reception was disappointing, although later a very kind staff member came personally to clean and prepare it correctly for us, which we appreciated. The hotel has a lot of potential because the rooftop, food and location are genuinely good, but the housekeeping and cleanliness standards seriously need improvement. Unfortunately, for us, cleanliness is one of the most important parts of a hotel stay, and this aspect significantly affected our overall experience.

Nice hotel, centrally located but still quiet and in a not too crowded area. Rooms were clean and spacious, with a free mini fridge to help yourself. Shower was spacious as well, with enough pressure to calm yourself down after a tiring day. Breakfast is open from 06:30-10:00. I was not expecting it to be so well equipped to be honest. Very nice and would definitely recommend adding it in your booking. There is also a nice rooftop bar, with a small swimming pool that you can relax during a hot day. No gym but there is a sauna on the same floor. Overall, a very nice hotel, with cafe and restaurant options available (and a Revolut ATM across the street).

Absolutely brilliant stay—couldn’t find a single negative. The room was beautiful, the bed was genuinely the comfiest I’ve ever slept in, and the shower was incredible. Every member of staff was polite and genuinely helpful, which made a big difference. To top it all off, the pianist last night was an absolute joy to listen to. Truly a memorable experience.
