If you are planning a trip to the region specifically for motorsport, the Sercotel Ciutat de Montcada is an excellent choice. We chose this hotel specifically because of its highly convenient proximity to the Catalunya Circuit for the MotoGP races, and for that specific purpose, it worked out perfectly. The hotel is located in an offbeat area about 25 minutes outside of Barcelona proper. Because of this, if you are visiting as a traditional tourist looking to see all of the main city center sites, I do not recommend this location. However, the immediate neighborhood itself is quite nice and peaceful. Within easy walking distance, you will find a small local market and a cozy local coffee shop to start your morning. For dining, options are admittedly limited—not very much to choose from overall—but there is a sushi restaurant nearby as well as a bar cafe within walking distance. The hotel itself is very nice and well-maintained. Cleanliness is a major priority for me, and both the guest room and the bathroom were absolutely spotless upon arrival. The bed was super comfortable and featured high-quality cotton linens, which is a massive deal for me when it comes to getting a good night's sleep. The bathroom setup was equally impressive; the shower provided great water pressure and came fully stocked with all the essential amenities you would need for a comfortable stay. It is a reliable, clean, and comfortable base for race weekends.
I had a truly wonderful experience staying at the Sercotel in Montcada from 24.04.26 to 24.05.26. From the moment I arrived, the front desk staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help with anything I needed. Their kindness and professionalism made a very stressful trip much easier and more comfortable. The restaurant staff also went above and beyond every single day. The level of service was exceptional, and everyone was attentive, warm, and genuinely caring. I also have to compliment the chef and kitchen staff — the food was consistently delicious and beautifully prepared. Housekeeping was equally outstanding: attentive, friendly, and always helpful whenever anything was needed. It was clear that every department in the hotel truly cared about providing excellent service. The hotel itself is very well situated, with easy access to transportation and convenient connections to the surrounding areas, which made getting around very simple. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area, and when I return, I will definitely stay here again. Thank you to the entire staff for making my stay such a positive experience!
I stayed at this hotel with my girlfriend for 6 nights and overall had a good experience. The hotel is clean, bright, and well maintained, both inside and outside. Our room was cleaned daily, and the staff was always friendly and helpful. The location is decent for the price — about 20 minutes by car from Barcelona, with a Lidl and Domino’s nearby, plus a bus station close by. The only downside is the surrounding area, which doesn’t always feel safe, especially at night on poorly lit streets. Overall, a positive stay. Rating: 4/5
We recently stayed at Sercotel Ciutat de Montcada and overall had a good experience, with a few downsides worth noting. The hotel itself is clean and well-maintained. Our room was lovely, the beds were very comfortable, and the shower was excellent - powerful with consistently hot water. Housekeeping did a great job cleaning the room daily, which we appreciated. There was also a mini fridge available (chargeable), although aside from a hairdryer, there weren’t many additional amenities provided. Our experience with the staff was a bit mixed. The lady who checked us in came across as quite rude and not very welcoming, which wasn’t the best first impression. However, the rest of the team made up for it - the gentlemen at reception and the security staff were extremely friendly, polite, and helpful throughout our stay. One disappointment was that we weren’t informed in advance that the rooftop pool would be closed and only open during peak season. This was something we had been looking forward to, so clearer communication beforehand would have been appreciated. Another downside was the location in terms of transport. The nearby train line was under construction, which meant getting into Barcelona city centre required taking a bus first. As a result, we ended up relying on taxis and Uber, which took around 30 minutes each way and became quite expensive over the course of the trip. Overall, the hotel itself is comfortable and well-kept, but better communication about facilities and transport disruptions would have improved our stay.
