Hotel Catalonia Square

Very very nice, friendly and professional staff. The pool is really nice. We had a defect window in our room and the toilet cleanen was messing, but we really enjoyed our stay. Especially Francesc made us feel welcome when we arrived.

The service was very disappointing. Housekeeping is not available after 3:00 PM, which is extremely inconvenient for hotel guests. The towels also had a very unpleasant smell. The overall quality of service was poor and far below what I expected from this hotel. What was even more frustrating was that they removed the spare key from my room, and when I asked for it, they requested my passport just to verify my identity. Overall, this was an uncomfortable and disappointing experience, and the level of service definitely needs significant improvement

I had a deeply upsetting and humiliating experience at Catalonia Square Hotel that significantly affected my overall impression of the property. As I was leaving the hotel, a staff member named Anderson stopped me and told me that he wanted to check my personal belongings because he apparently suspected that I had taken a hotel towel. What I actually had with me was my child’s own bathrobe, which we had brought ourselves — particularly as the hotel does not provide bathrobes for children. I found the way this situation was handled completely unacceptable. Being stopped and effectively treated as though I had stolen something, and then being asked to allow a member of staff to search my personal belongings, was extremely embarrassing, disrespectful and humiliating. If the hotel had a genuine concern, there were far more professional and discreet ways to address it. Guests should not be subjected to accusations or searches of their personal belongings based simply on an assumption, particularly without first establishing any reasonable basis for such a suspicion. What disappointed me most was the feeling of being treated like a suspected thief rather than a paying guest. Regardless of the misunderstanding, no guest should be made to feel accused, embarrassed or unwelcome in this manner. I sincerely hope the management of Catalonia Square Hotel investigates this incident and reviews how staff are trained to handle situations of this nature. Basic courtesy, discretion and respect for a guest’s dignity and personal belongings should be fundamental in hospitality. Unfortunately, this incident overshadowed my experience at the hotel and left me with a very negative impression. I would not expect this kind of treatment from a hotel of this standard.

This was not our first stay at the hotel, and we were delighted to discover that everything we loved about our previous visit is still here and, if anything, even better. The staff were outstanding throughout our stay: attentive, friendly, professional, and always willing to help with a smile. The location is perfect, making it an ideal place to stay. We will gladly continue recommending your hotel to our friends and colleagues, and we are already looking forward to returning for another visit. Thank you for another wonderful experience!
