Barcelona Catedral Hotel

I was extremely disappointed with the way the hotel handled my situation. I had booked a two-night stay in Barcelona, but unfortunately due to severe weather my flight was cancelled and I was unable to travel at all. I completely understand that hotels have cancellation policies, and I wasn’t necessarily expecting a full refund. However, given the circumstances, I had hoped a four-star hotel would show some flexibility and a reasonable level of customer service. The hotel agreed to refund only one of the two nights and would not offer any alternative for the remaining night - not even a voucher or credit towards a future stay. I would have been very happy to rebook and stay at the hotel on another occasion, so I found this particularly disappointing. What made the experience more frustrating was that Booking.com advised me that the decision regarding the refund was with the hotel, while the hotel suggested it was a Booking.com issue. Being passed between the two parties without any real resolution made an already stressful situation even worse. After already losing my trip because of circumstances completely outside my control, I had hoped for a little more understanding and goodwill. For a four-star hotel, I expected a much higher standard of customer care. Sadly, this experience has left me very disappointed and would make me think twice about booking this hotel in the future. We have just checked out after a long weekend stay here. I spent days researching hotels and finally settled on this one, so thankful we did! The hotel is so well located, walking distance to everywhere we wanted to visit and more! Clean, spacious and such lovely staff, so helpful. Amazing hotel which we will visit again. Thank you 😊

Best location, so close to Cathedral and you are able to easily wander the cool lanes through the Gothic area. This Hotel is super clean, rooms are large and beds comfortable . Everything you need is on hand, services to room are excellent. Breakfast is fabulous. I used the pool upstairs every night. Best, all staff are so helpful, from food and advice on activities, 24/7 desk and quick service. I arrived with no luggage (lost in transition) it was late, i was overwhelmed but I was looked after and felt safe and comforted. Barcelona is sooo busy is nice to have this beautiful hotel to retreat to. Stay here, it’s great, highly recommend.

My son and I had a nice stay at this hotel during our visit to Barcelona. It’s located in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, making it easy to walk to many of the city’s top attractions, as well as countless restaurants, cafés, and shops. Our room was ready when we arrived, which was greatly appreciated after a long travel day. I was a little disappointed that there was no acknowledgment of my son’s 16th birthday. I had mentioned the special occasion during the booking process, so I had hoped for a small gesture, such as a card or even a simple birthday wish from the front desk staff at check in. Our room was beautiful, spacious, and very comfortable. The bathroom was large and well appointed, with everything we needed. I also appreciated that the electrical outlets accommodated North American plugs, which made charging our devices very convenient. The area felt safe, and I had no concerns walking around with my son, both during the day and in the evening. We had dinner down by the beach one evening, which I highly recommend if you’re visiting Barcelona. Overall, this is a great property in an excellent location. Aside from one less-than-friendly customer service staff member, we had a very enjoyable stay and would recommend this hotel to others visiting Barcelona.
