The hotel is absolutely beautiful, it’s fun and the rooms were really clean, the whole hotel has a really vibrant atmosphere. The location of the hotel is very near the central area HOWEVER outside the hotel was a real disaster for me, full of homeless people, drug addicts and at night men arguing breaking bottles and just felt very unsafe. Would recommend if you are going in a group or as a couple but not alone!

We had a very mixed experience at Barceló Raval. The hotel itself was excellent — our room was clean, comfortable and well maintained, and the staff were absolutely superb and exceptionally helpful throughout our stay. The rooftop is a real highlight, offering incredible 360-degree views over Barcelona. However, the location was a major concern for us, particularly as two women travelling together. On the night before we left, we actually heard gunshots at around 2am. When we were leaving the hotel at around 3am, the streets had been blocked off by police. It was also far from a quiet night — throughout the night and into the early morning, we could hear lots of activity and people out on the streets. We found the surrounding area quite intimidating and did not feel comfortable walking to and from the hotel, especially during the night. This unfortunately affected how safe and relaxed we felt during our stay. It’s important to say that the hotel itself was lovely, and the staff were exceptional. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the rooftop views were fantastic. However, if you are considering staying here, particularly as women travelling alone or in a small group, we would recommend taking the location and the atmosphere around the hotel into consideration. A great hotel, but the surrounding area and our experience at night made it difficult for us to feel completely comfortable.

Following our three night stay at Barcelo Ravel, i would like to express my extreme satisfaction with service, staff and overall pleasant experience. I did not expect an upgraded room as as we were celebrating a special occasion but it was provided. They also provided us with a luggage store until check in. The room was in immaculate condition. The curtains took a little bit of brain power at first... probably helps if you read the notices in the room/on the table. The staff were inviting, warm and friendly. Give us perfect directions to the beach. There is a rooftop bar with beautiful views across the city. On occasion, there was live music too. The hotel is located outside of the main tourist area but still within easy walking distance to most attractions. There is some nefarious activity in the area that the hotel is located. We had no issues but it was very clear that there were sexual services on offer from women on the street and lots of men standing around. If you are considering booking this hotel then do not hesitate, just take the usual precautions with valuables and jewellery.

Staff helpful and friendly. Room was not big enough for 3 two adults and a 15 year old boy we booked a triple room but the 3rd bed was a a tiny pull made up single sofa that would ideally suit a child up to the age of 10 not a 6ft 3 15 year old. The door on the toilet was a sliding one really heavy and I trouble opening and closing. The room was clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast I would recommend investing in a better toaster or maybe two to speed things up.Hotel overall was good rooftop bar brilliant fantastic views and situated on short walk to the main square shops and restaurants
