I had a lovely stay at Hotel Balmes! The location was one of my favorite things about the hotel. It was so convenient for exploring Barcelona and made it easy to get around while still feeling like we were staying in a charming area. The hotel itself was beautiful and had such a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. There were delicious restaurants right next to the hotel, such as Catalona and Akiro, which I highly recommend. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend Hotel Balmes to anyone visiting Barcelona! 🤎

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. Greeted by a friendly hotelier who carried our suitcases inside without us even thinking about it. The staff was friendly and forthcoming from the start. The room was extremely clean and way too comfortable. Towels were changed on a daily basis. The coffee machine in the room was a nice touch, as were the Egyptian sculptures. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
We were pretty disappointed in our stay at Hotel Balmes. Especially at this price, we expect much nicer rooms. Specifically, the bathroom was disgusting. Very dirty, with mold and mildew everywhere in the shower. But worst was the smell. There was an awful odor in the bathroom, which increases when the A/C ran. It smelled like a combination of mold and sewage, and it was so bad that it made us want to vomit. Sometimes we would use the public bathroom outside instead of using our room bathroom. The staff are friendly, especially the bellhop. The lobby is nice and the pool was fun for the kids.
Well, I love the outdoor seating area and quaint pool! The marble bathroom was dreamy. I always pack my own white noise maker and earplugs so I slept exceptionally well. I also bring my supplies for pour over coffee so I was contented. The hotel provided me with a kettle. The neighbourhood is very hip and I felt safe here. Cheers from Vancouver Island Canada.
Our family stayed in this hotel last August. We picked it strategically as it has a pool in the courtyard with natural shade and a nice cocktail bar- a good place to relax after exploring the city. It was excellent, like a small resort right in one of the nicest neighborhoods in Barcelona. The hotel was very aesthetically appealing. Likewise, It is a very close walk to Passeig de Gracia, and the picturesque cafe's along the Rambla de Catalunya. Our family of 4 stayed comfortably in one of the unique split-level rooms on the ground floor with very convenient access to the pool. The staff were all very welcoming to us. The breakfast was excellent, and made to order eggs were served with a perfection that you would find in a top-tier restaurant. Thank you for a memorable stay in Barcelona!
