Excellent location, view from balcony, clean room, updated look of the room. Front desk woman hung up on me because I asked for the WiFi password as the one provided didn’t work. Learned that she hung up on a few people. Aside from the less than pleasant service from her, the stay was great.

Overall great hotel. Wasn’t too expensive and was very clean. They offer room service every day and was a short walk from 2 subway lines. Once on the subway had to ride quite a few stops to get to the main attractions but nonetheless atleast it was close to the subway. The wifi did not work. I called every day and they told me they were looking into it. The last day I really pushed and they finally gave me the staff wifi. This was inconvenient. It was also weird that we couldn’t control our own air conditioner. We had to call the front desk to turn it on and off.
We stayed with the Hotel Sant Pau for 2 nights in July 2026, we wanted a good jumping off point to see the sights but a little away from the centre of the tourist part. Located next to the Hospital Sant Pau it is in a historic part of the city but the streets and sidewalks were all clean and well tended. Upon first entering the hotel, the welcome was warm and sincere, the necessary admin was easily done in a matter of minutes and, as our apartment wasn't quite ready, we checked our baggage into their secure area and went in search of food. The staff were friendly and attentive and couldn't have been more helpful. We returned a few hours later and picked up the key for our apartment which was 200 meters away from the hotel. Don't let the outside of the building fool you, the apartment was lovely. It was super clean and had all the amenities we would need and the air conditioning was superb and a welcome relief. The apartment building was super quiet with a working lift and clean reception area. Within a few minutes walk there were a number of small supermarkets for essentials like tea and coffee (the coffee machine takes Nespresso standard pods) and there is a superb rotisserie chicken shop across the road from the apartment, bear in mind it seems that most rotisseries close at 6pm so go early and don't miss out. From there the Sagrada Familia was a leisurely 20 minute amble with plenty of food and drink shops to choose from along the way. For food deliveries to the apartment, I used the Glovo app and the food arrived very quickly. Breakfast in the hotel was basic but very good, a selection of freshly baked rolls and fillings such as ham, cheese and local sausage, also hot bacon, scrambled eggs, tortilla and mushrooms were fresh and hot, there was also fruit and yoghurts so everyone, including families, was catered for along with tea, coffee and juices. The restaurant staff were equally friendly and efficient and a big thanks to all the staff for making the whole, albeit short, stay pleasant and problem free. I would recommend Hotel Sant Pau without hesitation for a stay in Barcelona, it was great value and easy to enjoy.
The hotel’s location is excellent, as it’s very close to two major metro lines, making it easy to get around Barcelona. The room was small but perfectly adequate for my stay. The air conditioning worked very well, and the room was always clean. The only downsides were that the hotel charged an additional €23 during my stay, which was unexpected. Also, one of the receptionists—a short lady with light brown hair and glasses—was quite unfriendly. She seemed to say “no” before even listening to my questions and always looked unhappy. On the other hand, all the other receptionists were kind, welcoming, and very helpful.
I loved staying here, and I’ll definitely be back! I highly recommend getting a room with a balcony. The view is great and was one of the highlights of my trip. Everything in the hotel is clean and modern. I also recommend buying the breakfast package. They’ve got a good breakfast, and it takes away some of the pressure of every day having to choose where to eat for 3 meals. The hotel location is also excellent. You’re just a 15 min walk from La Sagrada Família, but the neighborhood is quiet. Plus, the metro, bus stop, and taxis are just around the corner.
