Ac Hotel Diagonal L'illa By Marriott

We really liked the hotel. We had a huge room for four people. The room was cleaned every day. Everything is very clean. The breakfast selection is small, but everything is very, very tasty. There is a shopping center below the hotel. I recommend this hotel to everyone!!!

I am a titanium member by Marriott and have stayed in many Marriott Group hotels. This was the worst ever experience in an AC Hotel or any Marriott Group hotels. We have reserved a room at higher category and more expensive. We were given another room which the receptionist tried to convince it is even a better room which was not. The room face the backyard with no interesting view. The rooms is super outdated with bathroom full of germs and dark spots in the shower. The decoration is super simple and tasteless. The twin beds were big and comfortable. However, the beds are so light with a small push they move. The cleaning service by housekeeping was a disaster. When we complained why our room was not cleaned till late afternoon we got rude replies. Then we had decided to shorten our stay as it was not enjoyable. The lobby is far too small and the gym room is a joke. It is not definitely a four start hotel service. The breakfast was good but things like fried eggs were ugly like soaking eggs in oil and the whole plate is oily with eggs on it. The positive thing was the location next to the shopping mal and many restaurants around. The hotel is definitely not a good choice for families and longer stay but more like for business and short stays. The receptions were not very professional not offering anything to make the stay good and even not interested to know about our whole experience even though they sell the rooms at very high prices.

Very nice hotel attached to a shopping mall. Lots of good restaurants are nearby. Room has plenty of space, air conditioning is performing well in the hot summer days. Reception staff are friendly, provide good advice to travel around Barcelona. Note that travel power adapters are required in the room for North American travellers.
