This was such a fun experience! I love the traditional clothing we got to wear; it's beautiful. The dances were just challenging enough without being overly difficult. We had a great time.

Amazing, absolutely worth it, if you want to learn about thai culture in a more interactive way. You get to wear a beautiful outfit and learn a new skill.

For the whopping price I expected a much more upmarket venue especially since the standard at the hair salons/ beauty is so high. The experiment went wrong already as I assumed elaborate hair and makeup was included (it is not I checked the ticket). They do very basic hair. I lost more hair in the process than got any new style ideas. The ladies were defo not ladies interested in makeup. Also the dressing process was a bit clumsy and they seemed not so sure what they were doing. Make sure you bring a strapless bra as it will look ackward otherwise. The jewelry is also on the stingy side even I was the only one in the class and they could have put more. The costume is a very basic one and disappointing compared to the other ones on the road. Most disappointingly the didnt put the nail extensions! (and yes I now doublechecked this was supposed to be included). Also a pick up from IconSiam which is not mentioned in the ticket anymore and nobody email w regards to that. That tbh gave me a foul mood before I met the teacher even. She was trying very hard but the questions seemed annoying and the class was low vibe, possibly also because I was the only one there. Got really bored half way through and left. If it had been half of the price totally fine but for a high price like this dont try it. It would be unfair to other really good classes to give them a better rating.

I had a great time with Thapisa learning about Thai culture and dance. You get dressed in traditional Ayuttayan dress. During class, she took lots of nice photos and videos. Highly recommend when visiting Bangkok! 탄피사 쌤 감사합니다!

This was a fun little activity to do to spend a couple hours dressing up and learning a couple Thai dances. They had a little snack and did my hair and decked me out in an outfit and jewelry. It was just me for the class, so it was cool to have my little one on one private dance class. The dances are very basic but takes a surprising amount of coordination. Kam was very patient with me and very kind.

When traveling abroad I try to find activities to immerse myself and connect with the culture...this dance class addresses all that and more with historical and tradition background. Jenny is a fabulous and patient teacher. She works with you not just on the dancing, but giving insight into Thai culture, the regional styles of Thai dance, the practices of the dance and etiquette, both formal and social....and Jenny keeps it light with a good sense of humor. If you want an alternate perspective on Thai culture, whether you currently dance or not, I highly recommend participating in this activity. Thanks Jenny. This was everything I was hoping for and more.

I was initially upset as I waited 15 mins as the teacher was late, but when she arrived she made the session so incredibly fun it was worth the wait. She is very knowledgeable on dance

What a beautiful experience! Upon arrival we had some traditional snacks and tea. Then we were dressed in traditional Thai dance attire, as well as jewelry and our hair-styled. The dances were traditional, fun, and easy to follow! The teacher was wonderful. She had a beautiful energy and made the class really special!

This class felt very authentic. We began by learning basic Thai customs, types of dance and the history of Thai folk dance. I loved that the costumes were those worn by dancers in central Thailand and not flashy and disingenuous. Some of the dances were challenging, but we had excellent guidance to make it an experience to remember.

This was the most unique and culturally immersive activity that we did in Thailand! It was way more than a dance class! We got to be dressed in traditional Thai clothing, learned helpful phrases in Thai and background in the culture. Honestly I would make this your first stop in Thailand it helped us know the appropriate ways to greet and thank respectfully. As for the dancing it was so much fun!! Myself and my two kids had a blast learning and dancing. The dances can be adjusted to accommodate any dance level! This class is awesome for both beginners and experienced dancers! Beautiful day and kind instructors!

Started out a little awkward. They showed us to a kind of strange, but very clean and air-conditioned room up a very steep staircase. They dressed us in costumes that were not the high end items available down stairs. Once the teacher (her name translates to Gift - and she was!) got there, the tone of the class totally changed. The teacher spoke English fluently, and was very knowledgeable - she was a history professor. Upbeat, fun, encouraging, she taught us about Thai culture, customs, and dance, all in 2 hours. We learned 3 dances, some basic movements, differences in how vow and show respect to different people. She also taught us some basic Thai vocabulary. Highly recommended!

This was more than a dance class. Upon arrival, you are costumed in a traditional dance costume, complete with jewels and headdress. Jan, the instructor offers a brief history of the various dances throughout the Kingdom. By the end of the class you will be dancing and performing Thai dance! I highly recommend this class, bring your phone to record your dancing! So much fun and appropriate for all ages.

This was a great cultural experience, our instructor was very knowledgeable in the history of thailand and taught us many things, she was also able to speak many languages very well. When we arrived we were put into traditional clothing and hair, we then learned about the culture and and basic movements which we then put into dance. We were able to take many photos and videos and given snacks!

This experience was very good and authentic. The instructor was very knowledgeable and educated us on certain Thai customs. She was nice and patient! The space is small and intimate. We were met with light refreshments! My family and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and couldn't stop showing our family and friends the new dance moves we learned! Great value for our money!

Had a truly memorable time learning with Ms Jenny, she shared on the provincial dances available across Thailand and explained the differences which was really interesting. The most thoughtful part was Ms Jenny catering the session based on the participant’s capabilities. Being a dancer myself, she was able to teach more in-depth and give me more challenging movements which I thoroughly enjoy Will recommended to others and might come back myself for more

This was my favorite activity in our week in Bangkok. My husband and teen daughter reluctantly came with me, but ended up having a lot of fun! We were dressed in authentic Ayutthaya costume, and they were able to adjust sizes to accommodate heavier adults which I had been worried about. It was a great way to learn about the cultures of various regions of Thailand and understand how the clothing and dance of each was reflecting the attitudes of each region. The dance steps were simplified for those who needed just the basics, and she added in levels of complexity for me so that we all had a great session together.

What a brilliant lesson, the dance instructor was so sweet she even put on our customs for us. She was very knowledgeable and we all had so much fun.

Loved this experience. My daughter (age 7) loves to dance, so this was just perfect. She learned about her culture and got to get a deeper taste of where we are from. Jenny was our instructor and was wonderful and patient. 100% recommend this experience for anyone. Pro tip: Bring someone not participating to take video and pictures.

Wonderful experience for my daughter. The instructor was great. The length of the class and the dancing that was asked of the students were just right. The studio is easy to find, located in one of Bangkok’s biggest shopping centers. I highly recommend it!

Have fun dressing up and gain knowledge about traditional Thai dances. Must do it especially with a friends.

I joined Thai Dance Class at Bangkok Dance ICONSIAM. It was a great experience! The studio is very convenient, modern and new. The Teacher, Miss Gift , is very professional and she also can speak fluently in both , English and Chinese. One of the highlights of the class for me is the Thai traditional costume. I learnt to ware it properly and correctly. Come and join the experience like me. You won't regret it !!!

The best experience in Bangkok. You can bring your child they can also join the class. Very organized, Great teacher. They treat everyone like family. Definitely recommend!

I love the location of the school. It is in Iconsiam, the new landmark of BKK which is convenient to travel to. The class takes 2 hours , I love the Thai traditional dress so much. Teacher is so professional and the class started from easy to advance level. We danced 3 songs and learnt 3 posts. I would recommend you to join the class if you are interested in Thai traditional dance.

i was looking for some cultural experience after many times of visit to Bangkok and find this class in Viator. My wonderful experience actually start before the class. They contacted me via email a week before the class, confirm the date and time. Provide me with information on how to get to the pick up location. (please don’t take it for granted cos I have experienced another workshop with missing information and was blamed I was late.) The school is located in the newest shopping mall Icon Siam. It start with welcome note with my name printed, drink and snack, a brief introduction of Thai folklore dance. Then I was dressed up with the traditional Thai folk dance costume with my own choice of colour. I was served like a Thai queen! 👸🏻 My host always take good care of me and be my personal translator to the dance teacher. the teacher is kind and patience despite the fact that I am very inflexible. 😆 She repeated difficult steps for my own pace. I also learn the Thai dance rituals and enjoyed very much the Thai music with the steps I’ve learned. Around 2 hours experience worth the money. After all, I don’t feel this is a buy and sell transaction at all. It’s a experience you feel personally with friends. I feel their passion and heart in my entire journey. Thank you Bangkok Dance Academy for giving me such a memorable experience. Till now, I keep telling friends around and recommended them to go whenever they are in Bangkok.

The teacher is very attentive in teaching. Before class, he will help students change into Thai clothes and prepare water and Thai snacks. I was originally worried that I would not be able to understand what I was teaching when the whole thing was taught in English. I didn’t expect that the teacher knew Chinese. When he explained difficult vocabulary, he would explain it in Chinese, which I thought was very considerate. The origin and history of dance will be explained in the first part of the class, and dance teaching will begin in the second part. During the study, the teacher will also carefully explain the origin of the postures and provide individual guidance. During the class, the teacher will also carefully check whether the students' clothes are uncomfortable or loose. He thoughtfully helped us adjust; he selected three songs of different styles throughout the process and led us in teaching. I think it’s a great experience! This is a cultural course that I would like to learn again during my next trip.
