Great tour around older and newer parts of Chinatown. Amazing amount packed into the four hours including lunch
Amazing guide, top knowledge and best places! Highly recommend 🫶🏼
The Chinatown walking tour with Buay is AMAZING. Buay is the perfect host- so welcoming and generous with her time. You can tell how much she loves running the tours as she shares all of her stories and immense knowledge with the group. Do not hesitate to book this tour. Do it now!
I havebeen to Chinatown before but had little kowledge of its history and how the Chinese ce to settle there
Today we explored Bangkok’s Chinatown, spending most of our time wandering through the charming streets of Talat Noi and parts of Song Wat Road. It was such a joy to see a different façade of this beautiful city—rich in history, culture, and hidden corners you’d never discover on your own. Our tour guide, Buay, was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about her city, sharing fascinating stories, local history, and secret gems along the way. Every stop felt meaningful and authentic. Honestly, one day wasn’t enough—we could easily spend two full days exploring Chinatown and still want more. If you’re visiting Bangkok and want to experience its soul beyond the usual sights, a Chinatown tour is an absolute must. 💛
The Bangkok Chinatown tour experience today was very informative, my tour guide Mr King share his experience and stories about the old city, and how it was developed. He brought me to a hidden cafe which serves very nice coffee, we had some snacks and he also introduce the famous pork leg rice in Chinatown. I find the tour interesting and recommend this tour.
It was about short walk and hearing story of small community of Chinatown . Love to learn and see the history and get to see little road .
Bobby is phenomenal: friendly, genuine, clear on explaining the area and its history,ABOVE AND BEYOND GREAT TOUR. Stayed with us for longer than the 3 hours. Wow. AND: took amazing photos and videos for us. Best Viator yet for sure. He knows the area well. Absolutely memorable.
How many great things can I say, especially about our guide Aom. Aom took us on a delightful tour that was at a comfortable pace. She gave us a great education about Thailand in general and then took us to major temple which was spectacular. We then visited the dragon temple which was so beautiful. All the while Aom was so friendly and helpful in answering our questions. We went thru areas of Chinatown we would have never knew on our own. Down alleys and on a tuk tuk to see local society. Lunch was delicious and we finished in a wonderful coffee shop that is truly a hidden gem. Aom walked us to a good place to catch our Grab. You will be fortunate to have her as your guide. While getting history information is nice, spending time in her company made it more of a memorable trip
Our experience with Buay on the Chinatown Walking Tour was absolutely fantastic. From the moment we met her, she welcomed us warmly and immediately set the tone for an engaging and memorable day. Buay’s knowledge of Bangkok’s Chinatown, especially the hidden alleyways and shops, brought the area to life in a way we never could have experienced on our own. She didn’t just point things out—she shared the stories, history, and cultural insights that made every stop meaningful. The food tasting was a highlight. We sampled delicious Dim Sum we might have otherwise walked past without a second thought. Buay explained each dish in a way that helped us appreciate not only the taste but also its place in Thai culture. What stood out most was her attention to detail and her storytelling ability. She kept the pace comfortable, answered every question with patience, and made sure everyone in the group felt included. It truly felt like exploring with a friend who wanted us to see the “real” Bangkok, not just the tourist version. We left the tour not only full from the amazing food but also enriched by the history and culture Buay shared. If you want to see a different side of Bangkok and enjoy authentic flavors with an outstanding guide, this tour is a must. Highly recommended!
Very interesting tour. Focused not on the touristic part, but also on hidden and unique places. Mai was very professional and super kind!
This tour was excellent! Our guide gave us a lot of great information about the china town area and also took us to some wonderful lunch and coffee spots along the way. The areas were so interesting to see and I felt very immersed in the culture just walking through the various little streets. Got some amazing pictures, too!
Excellent tour through Chinatown. The guide was very knowledgeable. Absolutely book this tour when you’re in Bangkok
We had the best experience from Grand Palace to Chinatown. The stories were fascinating and I would totally recommend it. We were a group of 17 MBA students from USC
Talat Noi - Great to explore this part of Bangkok! Yummy coffee and Mother Roast and the colorful street art. Eng was a great guide <3
I booked the Chinatown tour, which was supposed to be to be a tour of Chinatown’s streets, markets and daily life. I booked the tour based on the description of the activity and the guided whose reviews promised a genuine un-touristy experience. Well. 80% of Chinatown, with tge exception of touristy areas are shut on Sunday. So the tour, as promoted- would not be possible on that day. Which i why i guess i got a different guide rather than the one advertised. The first stop of the tour was a temple. I told tge guide that this was not tge tour i booked, that i had no interested in spending my only day in Bangkok going into tourist spots and requested that i leave the tour and get a refund. She insisted that this was only one temple stop and that the rest of the tour will follow the tours description. I hesitantly agreed, because i did not yet know that most of the Chinatown was shut that day. Out of the next 3 stops - 2 involved going inside tamples. I left durring the 2nd if those. That is tge difference between the Free Tour and the paid tour. I was charged $50 to be taken on the tour that did not fit the description, was scheduled on the day when tge promiced activity was not deliverable, and despite my repeaded attemps to leave the tour and get a refund - i was continuesly missled. THIS IS A RIP-OFF! I hope this review serves as a warning to the potential future victims of this scam!
great experience visited many sites in china town. good guide, with great knowledge, also we tried many various foods and went to a nice cafe newr the river. restaurant for lunch was also amazing
Firstly, the tour company and the guide were very communicative even before the tour began. We were already chatting on WhatsApp to confirm meeting point, etc. We wanted a tour of Chinatown because we felt we’d have a better experience than randomly wandering around on our own. We learned about the history of Chinatown and picked up small bites along the way which we ate in a cozy coffee shop along the way. It was a nice break from the heat to stop and chat with our guide. We had lunch at a popular rolled noodle shop and Mai helped us get sorted on our way back to our hotel. We hopped on an electric tuktuk to the pier. The tour was a lot of fun, plenty of walking and plenty of eating and plenty of breaks in between. I highly recommend this tour.
Mee is such a great guide. We learned so much about both Chinatown and Thai history. I would strongly recommend this tour. Mee has great English and a very intelligent lady. Enjoyed it so much.
Lovely experience! I wanted a behind-the-scenes experience of China Town, and I definitely received it. It was exciting seeing the locals and popping in and out of areas where 99% of tourists wouldn't know about.
Our group of 7 friends signed up for this walk. We had already visited the Royal Palace previously and were keen to see other interesting parts of the city. Our walk with Ji was exactly as we had hoped. We visited Wat Traimit first then visited some interesting parts of Chinatown. Lunch was in a small place with everything cooked to order. Delicious. A groovy coffee shop and a walk through a trendy local area was a surprise. Ji was a very good guide. Very well informed and enthusiastic. Very good English. We enjoyed our day.
It was a fantastic tour with a fantastic guide. Well prepared and showing the core of Chinatown giving all the context and history. Mam is the best guide that I have seen with very good knowledge and very empathic person. Top⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️-Mam the best guide 🙏
This is my second time touring with LJ BIZ Soft Adventure and I am happy to be a repeat customer. I had contacted them over email when I was in the US and arranged the tours with Buay. They are also on Airbnb, Get your Guide etc but I had some questions so ended up signing up over email. Buay answered all my emails fast (especially considering the time difference). When the time of the tour came, she ended up being our guide. I had previously told her about my concerns on the amount of walking during the heat wave we were experiencing. She made sure to give us lots of rest spots, lots of liquids and continually checked on us. She took us to cafe and lunch spot where she helped us ordered local food and drinks we wouldn't know to try. The tour itself was very educational and it's obvious she knows Chinatown inside out. She has a lot of insight into the social/political aspects of her country. Initially, I had doubts about doing this tour since I'm Chinese and didnt feel like I would benefit much from it. However, I learned so much more than just about Chinatown. If you want something deeper from a tour than just surface level book facts, then this one is for you. Also, Buay's English was easily understandable. I also want to mention, she went above and beyond by helping us find a laundromat when we told her we had trouble finding one near our hotel. She even escorted us there so we know where to go. A genuinely nice person that helped make our trip memorable.
My guide was Eng, she was fantastic! Eng was knowledgeable and knew Chinatown very well. Walked for 3 hours however had many breaks. Had a coffee break, walked through temples, walked through markets and had a delicious lunch. Would highly recommend this tour!
Had an excellent tour with Buay. She was a fountain of knowledge about the area and Thai-Chinese history as well as modern Thailand. This tour showed me a part of Bangkok I never would have known about on my own. Highly recommend if you want to see the more local experience.
What a great tour with Mai. She is knowledgeable and passionate about her city and its heritage. Food tastings were great and the temple visits were very interesting. Thank you for a great day.
Buay was very informative and knowledgeable about the history and the area. Her English was easy to understand. Some of the sights she introduced were not congested with tourists and more interesting to visit. Highly recommend this walking tour.
We are very happy we had this walk with George. Full of knowledge, interesting facts and history of Thailand. Plus a very nice guy. We like non-touristy places and this was definitely it. Superb iced tea and coffee. Great noodle soup too. George, thank you for walking with us and helping with the metro tickets and the translating for Dorota while we were shopping.
My husband and I had visited Chinatown previously, but we would have never known about the sites in the Talat Noi area without joining this tour. Our guide Gee, was friendly, professional and very informative. She enthusiastically explained about the culture, life and history of the area. We can highly recommend this tour.
This was by far one of the best tours I have done, I was the only one on the tour and thing got change to cater to me. Great explanation and great conversation. Was made to feel like a friend. Even at the end of the tour we still wondered Chinatown and shown great food places to visit. We had the best DimSims. I was then told how close a lot of the places were to my hotel so I could revist
Great knowledge and tailored to my interests. Introduced the buildings and very amusing stories which linked the past to today. Highly recommended
Buoy is the incredible story teller and equips with super knowledge about the local history of China town. I had very joyful time and cheerful coffee and lunch with her. Truly recommend this program to whom really want to taste of China town in Bangkok
Steve is very knowledgable of the place. He took me to several hidden gems in Chinatown, the history, the people, the culture, and the different stories I could have never known if I just Googled.
It was a great experience, so many stories and inside of the Thai Chinese history culture. I had a lovely time with Buay. She knows a lot and we even learnt more on the way by talking to locals. Buay also help me for recommendation for where to find things around. You got to get many wishes along the way
I want to say thank youuuuu to Mr Steve, This is my 1st international trip and 1st tour guide experience. We have spent five hours roaming all over the china town. As promised in itinerary, Mr Steve showed us hidden gems of bangkok, more than 500 years history embaded in the corners of the each streets. 1. We saw the huge golden Buddha Temple 2. We saw the gate way to heaven and hell We went to mini china town 3. Docking area near the chao phraya river. Such a amazing place it felt like hongkong and Steve explained us about old trade routes and warehouses. 4. We saw huge scrap yards and old city architectures slowly turned into modern cafe after world war 2 scarps left behind. 5. We saw many Chinese temples and interesting part in all the temples is big wooden Board in the entrance. It was very nostalgic for me since, during my childhood I used to watch many kung fu Chinese movies from Jackie Chan, jetlee, brucelee and Chow Yun-fat Tamil dubbed version. I usually call that board as kung fu dojo board 🤩. Also i saw many powerful characters from Naruto anime as a god idols in the temple and some Chinese temples resembles our tamil culture Lord Murugan. 6. We saw temple sculpture from our Hindu mythology placed on Thai architecture like lord Indra on his pet Erawan elephant and lord Vishnu on his pet garuda. Thats amazed me. 7. We saw Islamic and church temples on the surroundings 8. We went to flea market, even in india I haven't see different type of spices like that. Even it was very busy street only two people can walk at a time, still it was maintained well. 9. We saw first thai bank and he explained why front desk in europium style. 10. He gave us tasty tiny pineapples, guava and watermelons. my eyes glued with the indulging tastes. 11. We completed our tour with wonderful meal, chicken noodles and fried rice. He taught us how to mix the spices in food. Bonus: 1. After watched many Chinese movies and anime I went crazy to taste rice balls Mr.Steve is very kind and bought it for us to taste, it was very fluffy and tasty😘 2. He taught us Do's and Don't Do's in thailand. 3. Gave us tips about local transports like metro, bus and taxies etc 4. He explained about thailand's famous gender swap surgery. 5. I observed the way they obeyed their traffic rules and there was no horn sounds even in the peak hours. Finally we understood the Amazing patriotism , culture and calmness etccccc of the Thai people. We love to visit again 😊 We definitely recommend LJ Biz Co.LTD.
I have been in Bangkok several times before and had briefly visited Chinatown during the day once. But this is the first time I decided to stay in Chinatown for a couple of nights and take a walking tour in order to get a better sense of the place. The walking tour was as expected -- excellent! It whetted my appetite to want to know even more about its colorful local history and its vibrant present. Until the next time!!
I have travelled to Bangkok before and visited all the usual tourist spots so this time i wanted to experience a more authentic side of Bangkok. i booked this tour a few hours before the tour started and the booking process was smooth. I called the tour company before the tour and they were easy to contact and communicate with. The guide was really good, she was considerate and friendly and a good communicator and made the tour a very enjoyable experience . I could see she was very committed to make sure i got the most from my experience. She made sure she took my personal preferences into account and structured the tour accordingly. She really did her job well showing her deep knowledge of Chinatown by explaining the context and the culture of each place we visited in a very relatable and interesting way with memorable anecdotes that made the whole tour come alive for me. The entire Chinatown experience was amazing it's a rustic and historic part of Bangkok which i had no idea existed within sight of modern Bangkok. The guide showed me narrow backstreets , historic mansions and shrines where life looked unchanged from 200 years ago . This is money well spent there is no way you would be able to find your way around these hidden historical gems of Bangkok on my own . I was also really pleased that drinks and a delicious authentic streetfood lunch were already included in the tour price . I came away feeling i had experienced experienced genuine thai hospitality and generosity and culture and experienced an authentic side of Thailand that i hadn't experienced previously in Bangkok i felt really well looked after during the entire tour and it's definitely the best experience i had of Bangkok
We are a group of Thai friends wandered around in this historic area of Bangkok with Khun Eng, our special tour leader. Even for locals, we learned so much about history behind each spot. Khun Eng is very professional and also thoughtful to make sure that we are happy and having fun. Many excellent photo spots with lots of nice graffiti and art along the small alleys. We had great street food and also unique coffee there. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to know real life in Bangkok.
We started the walking trip in the evening. The light from sun-set makes this place more special. We walked through small alleys along with cool graphity. The places around are so cool and nostalgic that make me though I'm in somewhere in Hochiminh or in HongKong. We ate Hoi-Tod (crispy fried mussel pancake) beside the river, had a cup of coffee at a chic cafe there. I'm bangkokian and my house is not far from the place but this is my first time I visit it and so fun!
Buay, our lady guide, received us near the old main train station. We walked into Chinatown and she led us first to the Golden Buddha Sukhothai Traimit. Later, she walked us professionally about the Chinatown, pointing out Chineses Shrines and busy alleys, showed us around and explained the gold shops‘ business and brought us to a new, hip coffee shop along the Chaophraya River, where she offered coffee hot or cold, even fancy drinks (no alcohol). Great vistas there and friendly coffee shop staff and owner, too. Later, we ventured into the tight alleys of Chinese shops, selling everything from sandals to dried fish stomachs. Some of our group did buy veggie curries and other foodstuff. Prices there are low and service simple, but competent. At the end of the tour, we stopped by a simple outside eatery for a vegetarian meal. Buay took good care of us. Traveller must be fit to walk five to six kilometers to enjoy the walk.
The tour was recommended to me by some friends and I can confirm it met my expectations. I was able to see a different side of the city and hear some personal and interesting stories that made this day unique. It is great to hear it all from a perspective of a local person. And the food was delish!
I took this tour with Buay and Eng who have a very special approach in connecting us with local communities. They are so lovely and so knowledgeable at the same time. With them, we explored the really interesting lifestyles and stories within Bangkok's Chinatown and discovered its unseen charm. Buay and Eng have a special ability to make everyone feel comfortable. Strongly recommend meeting them and joining their tours.
Ms Kulsantipong led an inspiring tour through Chinatown, explaining its history and importance to Bangkok. The tour encompassed visits to temples and shrines, a museum and vibrant markets, selling an array of food stuffs, the like of which I have never seen before; quite amazing and fun to sample. This felt like life lived in an earlier Bangkok, before high rises and giant shopping malls. It was marvelous :)
I bought this tour as a birthday present for my boyfriend and we had a great time. It gave us the chance to try lots of things we wouldn't have known to look for, especially unusual desserts and new fruits and juices. Our guide was Eng and she was really nice, spoke excellent English and gave us an insight into Thai food and culture. She encouraged us to brave the motorbike taxis (these were optional) to reach a market which we wouldn't have been able to get to on our own. All in all a great experience and I would definitely recommend it to friends and fellow travellers keen to try new things!

Had an amazing day with my guide Pat. We met as agreed at the BTS station near Sathorn pier and travelled by ferry to China Town. We visited temples, markets, her old school and found a shrine at the top of a police station! Tried Thai coffee and ate fried oysters at a Michelin recommended street food shop. Travelled down through the Chinese food market, down alleys and across busy streets, finally chilling and drinking coffee overlooking the River. I came away with a deeper insight to the Chinese in Bangkok, their history and culture and strength of their community. I would definitely recommend this tour.

My wife and I had a good time walking around hectic chinatown and learning about its various interesting places. The tour guide Buay had lots of little interesting tidbits that added to the history of the place. It ended with a nice chinese thai lunch. She also was helpful in giving us suggestions for the rest of our time in Bangkok.

Our guide seemed to know the Chinatown area and she spoke English well. That said, I would have liked some more insightful commentary on the major temples we visited.

I had a really fun day walking around in China town! our guide K'Buay is really nice and kind, she shows us some of the place that i don't even know it exist and tell us about its history and stuff. Other than that she also accommodate us with some Chinese herbs drinks (i think) which is a new thing for me cause i never tried it before but it was kind of good haha. Also, she take us to a really yummy lunch at this restaurant in China town which is personally my favorite part :P but yeah i really enjoy this tour and i would love to recommend it to anyone who doesn't have much time but still want to navigate around, i think this would be a perfect plan for you :) .
Our group of 4 spent 2 days with Eng exploring the Bangnamphung floating market and Bangkok's Chinatown and it was absolutely amazing! Not only were both experiences delicious and interesting, but Eng was also super knowledgable about all of the dishes we tried and places we visited. At the floating market, she had us taste everything from sweet and savory dishes to salty and spicy and it was all so authentic and yummy! And in Chinatown we learned so much about Thailand's history and the people who have made Thailand and Chinatown what it is today. In addition to eating all sorts of yummy foods both days, we also tried out several types of transportation - from motorbikes to ferries, bicycles and trucks, which was so exciting! You can tell that Eng and Buay put a lot of time and effort into planning their tours. If you're visiting Bangkok, we highly encourage you to visit the floating market and take a stroll through Chinatown with them! Not only will it be the yummiest decision you'll make, but you'll learn so much about Thai culture and cuisine :)
