I really wanted to love this experience. I actually had high hopes for the dinner cruise and was excited to finally do it. I had to reschedule my original reservation because the timing didn’t work with my flights, and I have to give credit where it’s due—the customer service team was wonderful and made the reservation change very easy. Then came cruise day… First, be prepared for VERY long lines. Boarding begins around 7:30 PM, which means you don’t really get the full two hours advertised. Once onboard, you’re greeted with a welcome blue syrup shot and water at your table, which was a nice touch. Then the cruise starts and everyone makes a mad dash for the buffet. And when I say mad dash, I mean practically a stampede. 😂 The buffet lines were extremely long, so I decided to wait a little while for the crowd to die down. Eventually, I got my food and returned to my table, 12B. Unfortunately, the view from 12B was already nearly obstructed by two large mechanical fixtures outside the window. At that point, I decided to make the best of it. I was determined to enjoy my evening regardless. And THEN… The unwanted guests arrived. ROACHES. Not one. Not two. ROACH AFTER ROACH AFTER ROACH. I am not exaggerating. They were coming out of the wall, crawling across the table, and one even made its way onto my plate. I actually recorded videos and killed three of them with a paper towel. THREE. 😩 At that point, I called the waitress over, showed her the videos and the paper towel evidence, and explained what was happening. She immediately removed my plates and went to get a manager. The manager came over, saw the situation for himself, and they offered to move me to another area. So where did I go? UPSTAIRS. In the rain. Yes. You read that correctly. 😂🤣 I left my roach-infested table for a “roach-free” table… outside… while it was raining. At this point, I could only laugh because what else could I do? The waitress then brought me a beverage menu and offered me a complimentary glass of white wine, which I appreciated. But at this point, I was wet, hungry, and completely in disbelief that this was how my dinner cruise experience had turned out. I boarded excited to enjoy Thai cuisine, the river views, and the traditional entertainment. Instead, I spent the evening dealing with extremely long lines, an obstructed view, a buffet experience that felt chaotic, and—most importantly—multiple live roaches crawling around my dining area and onto my food. I genuinely tried to make the best of the situation. I gave them the opportunity to correct it, accepted the relocation, and even tried to laugh about the whole thing. But unfortunately, this is not an experience I can recommend. I’m currently in my Grab heading back to my hotel—hungry, upset, wet, and still in disbelief. 😮💨 I really wanted to love this experience. I just wish the experience had loved me back. At this point, I believe a refund or significant compensation is appropriate given the circumstances. Rating: ⭐️ out of 5 The customer service team was kind and responsive, but the overall dining experience—especially the roach infestation—was completely unacceptable.

The Royal Princess Dinner Cruise on the Chao Phraya was a disappointment. The cruise seems vastly overbooked. Just too many people on board. Lines are long for the dinner buffet. Lots of cattle car moments getting on and off. If you can find a similar cruise at a higher price with fewer people, take it. Paying more, even a lot more for a dinner cruise that is a higher quality experience would be entirely worth it.
The check in process was very slow. When we reached the front of the line they wanted paper tickets yet we already had digital tickets. The check in lady was very rude and asked us how she was supposed verify our tickets and told us to step aside. She said they didn’t have scanners.
Absolutely waste of money - the food was nothing to rave about , no steaks but workers were seen eating them - the music was the same songs on repeat - they then couldn’t go the full way due to low water level - The asiatique mall is very nice outside and had lots of lovely food at reasonable prices Should have just stayed outside
Hmm, the organization was a tad shambles. I don’t think laying the food out then telling everyone to go for it was professional. The staff were very good and assisted when required, but a bit of tweaking would make it a memorable night.
We had a ball. What a magical evening. The scenery is amazing. The food was good, although not the best. Entertainment was great. The performer even did a special song for the South African group and we even enjoyed dancing to our favorite song. A special night. Reccomended.
Run! The organizer was terrible!! People were like animals here. The food was awful worst experience in Thailand. Definitely the worst dinner cruise I’ve ever been on in my life. Hahaha!
I have to say being a professional chef for 40 years (now retired) I was a little disappointed in the area of the food. Let me explain the rule of food is you eat with your eyes first. on this you got a 19 out of 10 score it looked good. taste of the food was good, except the steamed prawns which were very bland not to my taste. And this is the part that disappointed me the food that was cold wasn't and the food that was supposed to be hot wasn't either. Lukewarm at best. Now I totally understand there were a lot of people on this boat who needed to be fed quickly so dishes had to put out quickly, but I did not notice any little pot of liquid fuel under the food that was supposed to be hot. This meant that people waiting were not getting their food hot it was cooling off quickly. And I do not know how long the cold food had been sitting out but again it was not up to scratch Other people may look at it differently but my guests (4) all agreed it could have been better. We were all a little disappointed, as for the scenery it was spectacular could not fault it. would I go again, probably not but that is me speaking as someone who has done this work for 40 years, I personally think they need to improve greatly for me to come back
This trip was ok, there's only a few things worth seeing in Bangkok. It doesn't really last that long, and feels a bit rushed. You're piled into the boat, quickly fed, then the boat speeds rapidly past the good bits, returns, and you're quickly ejected
Cruise is a standard one but very clean and organized. The lines are long to embark but very efficient. We sat on the 3rd level which is where everyone else is seated and you have the best views. There was entertainment (music and some cultural dances) which kept the mood festive. Views and pace of the boat were good - expect a minimum two-hour roundtrip journey plus waiting time to board. Regarding food, it is a buffet style but there is more than enough choices if you're not picky and the food is constantly being replenished. They accommodated our dietary restrictions by placing the main dishes at our table prior to boarding - we were still allowed to hit the buffet. All drinks, including soft drinks, are chargeable but reasonable. No matter which company you choose, the river cruise is a must do if you have a short time in Bangkok - relaxing beautiful winter evening after a long day of sightseeing.
The trip is good and funny but they gave us a place at 2o floor and there were available many seats at 3er floor. The best is at 3er floor.
Bad company bad service. No communication. Don't care about customers. Waiting line ... unfriendly ... take an other one
Our overall experience was that we didn’t pay top dollar for this dinner river cruise so could not expect too much. The boarding process was hectic & seemingly haphazard but we all got on and off the boat safely. The buffet was substantial but all of the hot food was luke warm to cold by the time we got to eat it as they open all the lids so people can photograph the food. The onboard entertainment was fun and by the end of the night guests were up singing with the entertainers - even more fun to watch. We saw a few major highlights along our journey that were photo worthy and, at the end of the day, that’s what we wanted. Would not dissuade anyone from doing this type of cruise as it is something different but just don’t expect too much and enjoy it for what it is.
The view of the city was amazing and the food was spectacular! This was my husband and my first time in Thailand and I so glad we did this. I would definitely recommend this to any first timers.
Good experience. Air conditioning in the dining is needed as still hot in the evening.food is better than expected. Singer/ host made the atmosphere jubilant.
Very nice experience. I loved how the staff made everyone’s experience enjoyable . I would definitely go again
I think you should be told before hand that there’s a chance you don’t see the south because of water levels you don’t see the main place which is the main thing to see while in the boat. I think in rainy season this happens.
We did the sunset dinner cruise with buffet. It started off well, we were seated on the upper deck. The staff were very friendly. The buffet was better than we expected but then there were a few drops of rain and were made to get up, leave our drink and dessert and head to the bottom level. It was chaos, no clear instructions, unsure where to go, herded in like cattle. Now it was just a FEW SPITS of rain!! We would have been happy to stay up there just seated, without entertainment or food ( can understand if it actually started raining) but told we must go down. This ruined our night. The music on the bottom level was deafening. We didn’t feel comfortably seated. We basically spent the last part of our cruise just waiting to get back to port to get off.
The food, music, dancing as we cruised down the river with all the beautiful sites, was amazing. Hands down one of the most funniest part of our trip! Highly recommend the 7:30pm cruise and get in the bottom part of the ship for comfortable air.
Do not use this cruise company for anything do not use this Tour company for anything Oh - Hoo travel agency is unprofessional I purchased a cruise for my last night in Thai sept 2023. It was raining so much that my driver couldn’t even drive on the road. I contacted them 2 1/2 hours before the crew because I utilize the number in the booking that says WhatsApp communication they read my messages and ignored me. Never responding until the next day and then says I’m within their cancellation policy meaning I only could cancel 24 hours prior. They told me I had a credit for one year and I have to pay a rebooking fee of ฿200, that’s fine here in Thailand trying to again ignore my messages for three days now so i .com after three days of ignoring my messages or sent to emails and phone calls the phone calls we’re not going through. They had a totally different contact number for agency I had the correct communication because the name of the travel agency was in the profile of the WhatsApp business application. After the 4 th day I got email from viator refunding me my Money Later that the what’s app message come to me by the agency “ Due to your booking already refunded, you cannot keep credit to change the date. Thank you.” They literally made me wait a year for a refund and still didn’t get on the cruise what a waste of time and energy I kept doing as they asked and they just ignored me and yes i am black and yes it’s in my profile on what’s app this was total discrimination against foreigners, which is what happens a lot in Thailand and people don’t like to put it on TikTok I lived in Thailand for a whole year and every time I try to interact with a business, there is always hesitation on their part. I even have a virtual assistant that does translation for me that makes reservations for me at hotels, hospitals, and restaurants so that I can avoid the frustration and the discrimination that foreigners do receive when they’re in Thailand meanwhile, there are no Thai TikTokers talking about America discriminating against them. People getting on the elevator, and turning their back to you only happens to black travelers. I am so sick of violator condoning this behavior when I reported it to the chat agents, which was a total of four none of them cared about what I was experiencing.
This cruise was a fantastic experience. It was also organized extremely well, from getting on board, opening the buffet, up to the entertainment provided. Staff was very friendly and the food was surprisingly good and there was more than enough for everyone. The atmosphere upstairs with the band playing, cruising under the stars and passing many landmark spots along the river was simply magical. Overall, this cruise offers great value for money and is highly recommendable.
The way reminded for the dinner Cruse time wow I never did this kind of trip I thank you so much for the fantastic entertainment
I'm Akhtar from Germany 🇩🇪 I visit in Bangkok Reserve dinner on Royal Princess Cruises Bangkok Chao Phraya River I'm Really glad I Enjoy full with delicious food and Live Music, I get good Experience boat trip with amazing dinner
Lovely beautiful experience, what an amazing singer....a beautiful boat, a nice evening, well spent, good food and drinks and they started perfectly on time
The boat was loud and fellow guest's behaviour at the buffer was appalling. standard of food was decent , but youd have thought it was the first meal served since being released out of jail - no attempt by the boat to stagger which table went up first, except play the song "blind men say, only fools rush in"(seriously). Blasting karaeoke music the whole time, followed by "happy birthday" i dont know how many times.
The cruise itself is phenomenal. Great view of the city and water. Food was ok, probably not enough for everyone to get seconds. Check in process was very sloppy and unorganized. I would arrive 2 hours before cruise time just to figure out where you need to be.
Food is very average, stale and cold. They do not refill it either. Entertainment is also very average, there is also no place to stand on the deck. Very very commercial.
It’s good if you get a table upstairs. Unfortunately we didn’t and the atmosphere is quite average. We did however stand up top towards the end. Book in advance to secure an upstairs table because you cannot request, it’s first in best dressed. There is plenty of food to go around! Great variety. Also - didn’t receive the welcome drink as per booking suggests. All in all, it was okay
Queuing until the boat is very unorganised Buffet Dinner is very unorganised Feeling quite disappointed and not really worth the money paid.
The meeting point on the pier was very disorganised. There were multiple boats leaving from the same dock at intervals and no clear signage for where to wait. We joined the wrong queue and the other tours were very cross at other boat guests getting mixed up. On the boat there were 3 seating levels - I wasn’t given an option on the booking app so we were in the basement - this was hot and stuffy and views non existent. I would have happily paid to select the upper deck if shown as an option. We went upstairs and managed to see some of the sights along the river. Food was pretty poor but it was the views we went for. Entertainer on upper deck seemed good - there was one per deck - ours was pretty bad - not in tune at all. I wouldn’t recommend at all unless the to deck was on offer.
i dont recommend this cruise. tooooo boring….. the food is so so. not worth it. TOOO CROWDED. chao phraya is better. can give a try
Very crowded, not easy to find the Boat, Marking by picture and color so difficult to understood, as messy and chaos
Never again with this boat . Let’s just say I have been to “many dinner cruises in many countries. I have used viator my whole life and loved their tour companies …not this time !! Normally your printed voucher gets you on the boat . Not the case with these people ! You find out after searching on the pier for a contact that you must join and un organized line for hours to redeem the voucher. Then you are taken like cattle on the boat and assigned a table. We had asked for top level by contacting your operator via viator with no response. Names were not even on the list on check in so they had to call head office it appeared. And obviously no one really spoke any English. After we found our table in the far corner of the bottom deck far from the stage so cannot see or hear the show ( which was pathetic ) with peeling wallpaper, dirty windows and a moldy smell that made my daughter no longer hungry to. We decided the food looked good.no organization for a company of this size and running so long they just said “buffet open” and people grabbing food from all directions no line NO ORGANIZATION . The whole trip. Asked for a coke, was done eating dinner and dessert then they showed up with it 30 mins later . I refused to pay for it after they searched for me and harassed me on the top deck when I went to see the view( which was amazing !! And made it all worth it, food also was tasty and good selection). No complimentary cocktail as description says. Entertainment poor .Choose another company or boat it’s got to be better than this one !!
It was a great experience. Great views and beautiful performances. The food and just the whole atmosphere and experience was amazing.
Music entertainment singer and Food amazing this was my first trip in Royal Princess i enjoyed lot i don't mind to recommend this ship to anyone
Tried several times to contact them and they didn't reply once... Not good service. Maybe try replying to your customers
Terrible experience. Queu entering was managed very poorly. Food was bad. Dinner cruise x buffet dinner x loading of passengers onboard = the worst combination. My reco: just have dinner in any restaurant by the river or do a cruise without buffet dinner.
A badly organized event that should not be attempted unless you have local friends that can assist with ticket pick up and guidence. Some of us even missed to get on the boat. A crowded boat with three floors. We were sitting on the top floor which is were you should be in order to enjoy the views. The buffet serving was extremely poor with people fighting to get to the different dishes. If you had been looking forward to a nice cruise with could food - forget it. This is not what you expect when you buy tickets for such a trip. If you want to see the night views from the river choose another smaller boat set up for just sailing and eat ashore!
scenery / food / lake views / staff very attentative towards customers set up co-ordination / no more to say
the nighttime view of the City of Bangkok skyline from the river is unforgettable. It is breathtaking.
Great experience! Better to boom in advance They arranged for veg food as requested. Very thoughtful🙏
The organization prior to departure was terrible. We were told to wait at Pier 1 but was then moved 3 times into different lines with no explanation or signage. Once on board, there was a buffet in the middle of the room and, again, no organization. The chef waved his arm to indicate we could start eating and there was a rampage to the buffet table, people were going different directions on the same side - total chaos. There was a singer on the stage doing karaoke but couldn’t hit any of the high notes so skipped them and actually skipped half of most of the songs which was okay because she was flat when she tried to sing! The view from the top deck was great along with the fireworks.
Really nice experience. Maybe I would suggest an improvement at the meat quality but generally a pleasant experience for an evening. ☺️
1) our reservations were not on the list and we had to be added last minute. 2) no option to get preferred seating 3) Felt like it was way too over crowded
Fantastic. Great trip down the river and well worth the money. It’s not the most luxurious food but you can’t go wrong for the price it’s amazing
Very beautiful view I still want to go next time because we went a group this time so I want enjoy it just me and my husband only 😀
The only thing that saved this trip was the entertainment, the singer. The food was average and the organization was terrible. Finally the main reason we booked is to see Wat Arun at night and they couldn't pass it because of water levels. It was a busy all around and I do not recommend.
Very nice experience. The views are lovely. Food served in the buffet is delicious. Overall, the cruise experience is worthy
Amazing Singer and the family had a great time. Nice variety of food and staff were very pleasant.
