Seeing these ancient ruins up close felt like being transported to another era. The contrast between the red brick ruins, the towering stone chedis, and the lush green trees was just stunning. Peter made our entire morning so seamless. He pointed out unique architectural details we would have totally missed on our own, always checked if we needed shade or water, and made sure we never felt rushed. He is such a bright, sweet soul!

Wat Yai Chai Mong Khon is very famous throughout the world as it’s recognized as the World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1991 and it’s very important because it’s the location of 1 of the 8 great stupas of the country which is the highest stupa in Ayutthaya Island with the height of 62.10 meters.
Wat Phanan Choeng was built in 1324, about 26 years before the establishment of the Ayutthaya Kingdom. It is one of the oldest temples in Ayutthaya and has played an important role in Thai religious history. The temple is well known for its large seated Buddha image called Luang Pho Tho, which is about 19 meters high. The statue is deeply respected by both Thai and Chinese worshippers, and among the Chinese it is called “Sam Pao Kong.” According to a legend, the temple is connected to a Chinese princess named Soi Dok Mak, who died tragically before her wedding to a Siamese king. The temple was later built on the site related to her story.
Wat Mahathat temple was built in the late 14C. This temple is very famous because the great holy relics of Lord Buddha was once enshrined in the central prang tower and it’s the location of the sand stone buddha head embedded in the tree’s root which is the highlight of Ayutthaya province.
Wat Phra Sri Sanphet is world class famous because it is listed as the world heritage sites recognized by the UNESCO in 1991 and it was the most important temple in the golden era of Ayutthaya kingdom as it was the royal chapel of the palace used for the religious functions of Ayutthaya Kings and it is considered as architectural prototype of the Emerald Buddha temple in Bangkok
Explore the beauty of Ayutthaya from the water with a scenic motor boat tour around the historic island. Cruise along the calm rivers that surround this ancient capital and take in panoramic views of iconic temples, charming local communities, and riverside life. It's a relaxing and memorable way to discover the rich culture and timeless atmosphere of this UNESCO World Heritage Site—all from the comfort of a motor boat.

Incredible time exploring Ayutthaya! The ancient ruins and towering chedis were absolutely stunning to see. Our guide, Angie, was the sweetest! She took amazing photos of us at every temple and explained the history in a super fun and simple way. The private boat ride at the end of the day was so relaxing and a great way to cool down. Angie made sure we were comfortable and happy the entire time. 10/10 recommendation!
Nate was super friendly, funny, and took such good care of us the whole day. He knew all the best photo spots and kept making sure we had cold water and shade in the heat. Couldn’t have asked for a better guide!
This was easily one of the best highlights of our Thailand vacation. Everything was so well-organized from the hotel pickup to the boat ride. Angie was absolute gold! She took such good care of us, making sure we had plenty of shade, cold drinking water, and breaks whenever we needed them. Seeing the historical ruins with her guidance was so captivating. Can’t thank Angie enough for her incredible hospitality!
Kendo brought so much energy and positivity to our day! He was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and kept us smiling throughout the tour. Absolutely loved exploring with him as our guide!
Nate was great to hang out with and kept us entertained with fun local stories all afternoon. The pace was spot on, so we had plenty of time to wander around each spot. The private ride was smooth, and the whole day was completely hassle-free.
Ayutthaya completely exceeded all of our expectations! The brick chedis towering against the clear blue sky looked straight out of a movie, and the massive seated Buddha was just breathtaking. Kay was an incredible guide to have with us. She explained everything in such an easy, engaging way and guided us away from the big tour crowds so we could enjoy each spot peacefully. Traveling in a clean, icy-cold private car between temples made the whole day super comfortable. Huge thanks to Kay for making it such a smooth and memorable experience!
Our time exploring the ancient temples was absolutely lovely. Kay was super knowledgeable and took us around at a pace that suited us perfectly. We never felt rushed. Walking around Wat Mahathat was a massive highlight; the architecture is stunning and Kay knew exactly where to stand to get the best photos. The private vehicle was incredibly comfortable, and having door-to-door service from our hotel made the whole day stress-free. It was a well-organized trip that gave us a genuine appreciation for the region's past.
Exceptional tour with NocNoc travel and tours. The guide, Henry and driver Mr Noom were absolutely fabulous. This was one of the best tours we have ever done. We were picked up at our hotel and as this was a private tour we were explained the visits and what to expect and given the options of places to visit in the old Capitol. Also for lunch. Everything was explained. Lots of fun and laughter and our guide Henry was very knowledgeable on Thai history and culture. There was cold bottled water and towels in the van so we could have some relief from the hot weather. What made this tour so good was that nothing was left unfinished and our expectations were not only met but surpassed. We would book again and again with this top quality tour. Very appreciated.
We really enjoyed our private all day tour with Som! She arrived to our hotel early for our 8:30 pick-up. She also checked in with us the day before to make sure we had appropriate clothing to enter her temples. Her tour of the temples were very informative. Our driver Peter was always there to meet us when we needed to go to a different stop and it was great since it was so hot! I would highly recommend this tour with Som! At the end she gave us a Ayutthaya treat that can only be found here. I would highly recommend this tour!
Our experience with nok nok travel and tours was excellent the guide was very nice and the driver was kind and accommodating. Overall the tour and trip was enjoyable. Would recommend
NocNoc travel and tours were brilliant and we had a fantastic trip from Bangkok to Ayutthaya. Our guide and driver were very kind and took excellent care of us during the day. Every part of the trip was fun and informative. The boat trip is a great way to say the city from the river and we were taken to a lovely restaurant for lunch. Highly recommended if you want to get out of Bangkok for the day.
Absolutely loved this tour. The guides were hilarious, took great photos, and attended to any questions we had during the process!
We only had one day to spare and this was the perfect way to spend it. Tina was super efficient but didn't make us feel like we were on a treadmill. The mix of walking and the boat ride was a perfect balance. My legs may be tired, but my heart is full!
As a woman traveling alone, I felt 100% safe and comfortable with Kay. She was like a big sister, looking out for me and making sure I had everything I needed. The temples are stunning and I felt I could really take my time.
Me and my mates had a bit of a rough night in Bangkok before this, so we were dragging. Annie was so patient and didn't rush us at all. She brought these cold aromatherapy towels that were actual heaven. The ruins are massive and way more impressive in person. Seriously, just get the private tour, it’s worth every cent for the AC alone.
Our trip to Ayutthaya was quite simply brilliant. It was a full day tour with Johnny Be Good and our most excellent driver Mr Ta Tum. We visited 5 ancient temples and had a boat trip on the river. Our happiness throughout the day was Johnnys main priority, looking after us and sharing his vast knowledge of the ancient city and the sites with us. The temples were breathtaking and we learnt so much about Buddhism and the history of Thailand. Johnny knows every photo opportunity there is and we have some amazing memories captured by him. The restaurant for lunch was super, with a meal and drinks for two for less than £18. This tour is worth every penny you spend and allows you time out of Bangkok to learn more about Siam country. We were also kept well hydrated with plenty of water throughout the day. Thank you Johnny and Ta Tum. We will always remember this quote “good thoughts, good words and good deeds” from our day with Johnny Be Good!
Our trip to Ayutthaya and boat tour was excellent mostly because of our guide and driver. Our guide Johnny and our driver provided 5star customer service. His knowledge and experiences held our attention through our the tour. Highly recommend Johnny as a guide.
Our guide Johnny was a wealth of information. He and his driver took us to many historic Buddhist temples. He sharef the salient points of history through engaging storytelling. He was very organized and thoughtful with his ability to get us ticketed and through the temples. Charming and enthusiastic, Highly recommend
Absolutely amazing experience and time. From the spacious and comfortable van to the amazing Alex who was full of knowledge and information- she was truly amazing. Highly recommended for anyone here on holiday!
What a l wonderful day! Som was friendly, knowledgeable, and flexible. She shared lots of interesting information, was helpful and caring with my husband's mobility issues, and found us a great place for us to eat lunch on the water. When we needed to cut the wat visits short (due to his disability), she rolled with it and found is a great massage. She communicated and advocated for us at every step of the way. She even took lovely pictures of us. We highly recommend Som and this tour.
Annie was awesome! She very funny and knows so much about the temples. We loved wandering through the ruins and seeing the giant Buddha statues. It’s such a beautiful and historic place. A 10/10 experience!
If you only have one day for a trip outside Bangkok, do this. The temples are just spectacular. Annie was a great guide and told us so much about the old capital. The ruins are vast and very impressive to walk through.
We would have given the rour a 4.5 if it had ben posible. It was a great tour. Would always recommend a private tour. Katie and our driver answered all our many questions. If they did not know they found the answer. Our suggestion would be to stop and explain in the shade. It was da little difficult to hear what was being said when we were not stopped at a point and all together. All in all we really enjoyed our day with Katie.
Guide Pam provided excellent service throughout the Ayutthaya tour. She was knowledgeable, patient, and happy to answer questions. Transportation was comfortable, and the day was well organized from start to finish. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a smooth and informative tour.
Guide Bee was warm and easy to communicate with. She explained the history of the places we visited in a simple and interesting way. The pace of the tour was just right, giving us time to enjoy the surroundings and take photos. A very pleasant experience
Our tour with Guide Poppy was relaxed and well organized. She helped us understand the age and historical importance of Ayutthaya while keeping the atmosphere friendly. The boat ride was a nice break and added a peaceful moment to the day. A great way to explore the ancient city.
We took this trip with our family (son 19 years old). Johnny was very knowledgeable and had high energy throughout the day. We learned so much from him and enjoyed our private tour immensely. We would recommend this trip.
Great trip hosted by our tour guide Johnny! We visited all the Wats and showed us how to offer merit the Thai way which was a great experience for my young nieces. The favorite part of our trip was taking the boat ride and feeding the fishes. Highly recommend!
James made the history of this UNESCO site engaging and accessible. Climbing some of the ruins for panoramic views was awesome. The long-tail boat tour felt like a proper adventure and was a fun way to travel between sites. A fantastic blend of culture and sightseeing.
The scale of Ayutthaya is incredible. Da explained the history behind each temple complex so well. The private air-conditioned van was a godsend. The boat ride back along the river was a perfect, cool way to finish, watching local life go by. Highly recommended for history buffs.
From the prompt hotel pickup to the drop-off, everything was seamless. Patrick‘s knowledge was deep, and he timed our temple visits perfectly to avoid crowds. The included entrance fees and chilled water made it so easy. The boat trip was a real highlight.
The historical park is stunning, and Annie was a brilliant guide, bringing the ancient city’s stories to life. We had lunch by the river and it was delicious. Seeing the temples from the water on the boat trip offered a completely different, gorgeous perspective. An unforgettable day.
This was such a great day trip! Nat was our tour guide and he was so friendly and attentive. He gave us a wonderful background and history of the temples and the old city. Boat ride was beautiful and relaxing too. Highly recommend this tour.
Very interesting and beautiful tour, we were picked up in the morning at out hotel and spend most of the day enjoying some very spectacular Thai temples. Each was unique in their own way, and we were told the stories behind them, there was a fair deal of driving involved but the car was nice and the ac was a nice refuge after walking outside in the warm weather, we did stop from excellent Thai food, not included. And after a long day we were dropped of at our hotel.
So my wife booked this tour, I was initially not very enthusiastic to go, but I was totally sold after the first stop, so much history and so many great stories surround these places, so at the end I was the one that didn't want to leave. James was a blast as a guide and he explained everything in a very professional manner, he was also a very fun guy. So big thanks to my wife and to James.
This tour was right up my ally. I highly enjoyed Ayutthaya and all the other temples included in this tour. But without the history it's hard to fully understand and enjoy it all, however our guide Tina was fantastic in the way she explained everything in a storytelling way, everything was very convenient from start to finish. So all my thanks!
Can we get a round of applause for our incredible tour guide Tina. So helpful and warm, and a great photographer above that. It was so nice to understand the historical relevance of Ayutthaya in Thai history and just enjoying the ancient sights. The boat tour down history lane was very interesting. A very rewarding trip and should be enjoyed by everyone interested in Thailand culture.
Som was absolutely amazing from start to finish including helpful communication prior to meeting and then being an amazing tour guide on the day. She is thoroughly professional, extremely knowledgeable and clearly passionate about what she’s doing. This is a great way to spend a day if you’re in Bangkok and want a taste of history you can’t get visiting the other temples in the main part of the city.
Excellent service! Prompt, knowledgable, helpful, and fun. Highly recommended! Set back in time to ancient Siam. 🙏🙏🙏
The tour to Ayutthaya was a great choice to see something different from Bangkok. The drive took just over an hour, and the van was cool and comfortable with cold water provided throughout. What really made the trip special was our guide, Bee, whose English was excellent, funny, and full of engaging information. The temples in Ayutthaya were beautiful and full of charm, and the boat ride gave us a chance to truly relax. A solid 10/10 experience!
We had a wonderful tour with Poppy the first time, which made us eager to book another tour. Athens was our guide this time. Very knowledgeable about the history of Ayutthaya. He was very considerate throughout the trip, catering to our needs. Athens also shared some fascinating facts that we weren't aware of, which makes the whole experience very enjoyable and fun. The temples are massive, each with its own unique characteristics and significance in the history of Ayutthaya. They differ greatly from those in Bangkok and have significantly fewer tourists as well.
This was really something special. We started out in the morning, and it was an all-day event. The size of some of these places are absolutely mind-bending, from the structures to the Buddha statues, how they could build something like this so long ago, I don't know. But some of these domes (I believe they are called stupas) are absolutely massive. There was a fair deal of walking included, so be sure to wear light clothes and good shoes! So, the boat ride at the end was very rewarding from a relaxing perspective. Our guide Mint explained so much about Ayutthaya history, took great care and was super friendly. We were super happy, as a last note, we slept well that night after all day on the move.
Being a history buff, this was right up my alley. While I did some reading online prior, nothing compared to how well our guide Poppy explained it for us. Our family of four got picked up in the morning from the hotel and it took about 1:30h to get to Ayutthaya, this is when the history lesson started, and I was just soaking it in, even our teenagers enjoyed it, which says a lot! We all had lunch together after which the journey continued. While I am no athlete and it was a bit hot sometimes, I had no issues physically completing this tour, but with that said, the boat ride was a welcome breeze of relaxation. We were all very happy with this experience.
A great tour of Ayutthaya with Alex as our guide. We travelled from Bangkok in a private van with Alex. The journey was smooth and plenty of cold drinking water provided. Alex also gave us a run down on the plans for the day and checked that they were suitable for us. We visited 4 of the main temples and Alex gave us detailed commentaries at each one. We also enjoyed a relaxing boat ride along the river. Alex didn't rush us and she gave us plenty of opportunities to take pictures and she also took photos for us. She was also patient as I slowly climbed steps due to a knee injury. Finally we visited a market close to one of the temples where we were able to sample some local foods 😋 Thank you for a wonderful day Alex.
From hotel pickup to the end of the tour, everything was on time and easy. Angie was relaxed, friendly, and answered all our questions with a smile. The temples were impressive, but the highlight for me was cruising along the river peaceful, shady, and a great way to see more of the area. Would definitely book again.
Ploy made us feel at ease from the start. She gave helpful info, picked great spots for photos, and made sure everyone was happy. Clean van, breezy boat ride, and zero stress. Great day out!
The sight of the Buddha head among the roots felt almost unreal — like nature itself was bowing to history. Then the boat ride through the ancient city gave us this calm, reflective moment. Thanks to Poppy, it all came together so beautifully. One of my favorite travel memories ever.
Angie kept the tour relaxed and not too heavy on info, which I appreciated. It was hot, but we had breaks and didn’t feel rushed. The boat ride at the end was a nice way to cool down after walking around all day.
Alex was an incredible guide! Alex managed to take us to all the must-see temples in just one day and still made it feel relaxed and enjoyable. Taking the boat around Ayutthaya was such a peaceful. The city is truly charming and full of history. Alex explained everything in a way that was easy to understand and never boring. Great service, great stories highly recommend this tour!
