About Activity
The Bridge over the River Kwai needs little introduction as it has been the focal point of many films and books and this tour takes us back in time to understand its poignancy in history. We visit the famed bridge near the town of Kanchanaburi and two well-kept cemeteries that contain the graves of fallen soldiers who died constructing the ‘Death Railway’. Kanchanaburi town, 130 km west of Bangkok, is located in an area that is exceptionally beautiful, with deep jungles and meandering rivers that snake through an idyllic landscape, framed by rugged mountains. Although the bridge is the most frequented tourism draw, the wider Kanchanaburi province is also worth exploration and our journey to this location will take in this spectacular scenery.
