About Activity
Bangkok’s official centre point was once in the vicinity of the Grand Palace and this tour takes us back to Bangkok during the reign of King Rama IV. We visit the first road built in Bangkok to facilitate expatriates new to the city. We then drive and walk further along Charoen Krung, Bamrungmuang and Fueng Nakorn which are all filled with history, especially of early trade that led to abundant businesses being set up in these areas. Our first stop is at Wat Sraked (Golden Mount) which gives us a panoramic view across Old Bangkok. Next, we continue by tuk-tuk to visit Baan Bart, the original Khmer community that is known for making alms bowls used by monks. We then walk to Wat Suthat, the Giant Swing, and Wat Rajbophit with its beautiful temple hall decorated with Benjarong wares. Our last stop is Suan Pakkad Palace Museum, which is the former private residence of their Royal Highnesses Prince and Princess Chumbhot of Nagara Svarga. Lunch is at a local restaurant.
