The history of Chinatown dates back to when King Taksin founded Thonburi as a new capital in 1767, he asked Teochew merchants to supply his new capital with rice and provision. In return, he granted them many favors, including the land on the East bank of the Chao Phraya river, opposite his palace. When King Rama 1 ascended to the throne and founded Bangkok as the new capital in 1782, he ordered the Grand Palace built in the area that the Chinese community stayed in. He ordered them to move further South from the Grand Palace to live in a certain area which is now known as Chinatown.

We had a wonderful experience on our 8-hour private tour with our tour guide, Som, and our driver, Mr. Wat. They arrived at our hotel right on time, and we were able to share our preferred attractions and interests with Som at the beginning of the tour. Som was very knowledgeable and shared many interesting stories about the history and culture of the Grand Palace, the Reclining Buddha, and our canal tour. The timing throughout the day was perfect. We enjoyed lunch in Chinatown and also made stops for delicious coconut ice cream and at a famous mango sticky rice shop. We ended our final attraction at ICONSIAM and returned to hotel by 4:15pm. Mr. Wat was friendly, professional, and a safe driver, making our journey around Bangkok comfortable and relaxing. Overall, we had a fantastic time and really enjoyed the flexibility and personal attention of this private tour. Highly recommended such a comfortable and enjoyable way to explore Bangkok!
I had such a great time on my tour with Guide Katie. I did a custom tour of the Mekong Railway Market, Damnoen Saduak floating market and the Ban Don Kai Benjarong porcelain village to visit the Benjarong artisans in their workshops, browse their beautiful hand painted porcelain and to try my hand at it! From the customisation of the trip to the hotel pickup and being looked after so thoughtfully throughout the day by Katie and my driver - I would highly recommend to any visitor or expat living in Thailand, wanting to experience a slice of Thai market an artisanal life. Highlights included how lovely and kind our Ban Don Kai host was and how fun and knowledgable Katie was. 10 out 10 experience!!
Had the best time with Peter today! He took us to the Train Market, the Floating Market and the Dragon Temple. He was super nice the whole time and always making sure we were good. He even got us to try the coconut ice cream and the mango sticky rice… sooo worth it 😂. He was taking pictures of us all day too, which I really appreciated because now we have so many great memories without having to ask. We’ve done a lot of tours over the years and honestly he’s one of the best guides we’ve had. If you’re lucky enough to get Peter, you’re gonna have a great day. Thanks again Peter!!
We booked a private tour with Katie (booked via Nok - who we've used before and loved!). Katie guided our party of 11—ranging in age from 11 to 75—for a tour of the canals, Wat Paknam (Giant Buddha) and Wat Pho. Katie exceeded our expectations - she messaged us on WhatsApp beforehand with exact meeting details at Wat Pho (complete with an umbrella to spot her), was right on time and had all the boat logistics perfectly organized. Getting our multi-generational group on and off the boat at different stops was effortless! She speaks brilliant English, chats easily with all ages, takes loads of fun photos! and found us an amazing local lunch spot. (Only tiny tip for future boat trips: longtail engines are loud, so don't be afraid to ask her to project a bit on the water for all her useful knowledge!). Katie is a fantastic guide. We can't recommend her highly enough!
This was a great day out. You can choose your own agenda and tweak it as the day goes on as you feel which was great. The car was clean and they kept it clean in between outings. Every time we got back in the car we have fresh cold towels and cold water! We left early to avoid traffic, went to the Train Market first. She took some great pics of us with the train. Then we went to get pictures with tigers which was not planned. Next the water market was a good trip we did both the boat and walked it. Poppy knows everyone there since she is through there so much. Next we drove by the giant swing to get some pictures sadly it was under construction. Next we went to Wat Pho to get some great pictures also. She is pretty knowledgeable about the sites. Lastly we went to see Wat Arun from across the river. We were going to go to the sky walk but were pretty spent after all that so decided to ditch that which was fine as our 8 hours were coming to an end. There was an option to get an unlimited amount of time that included admissions after we booked. We haven't done that math yet but that would have probably been a better deal than paying for everything as we went along. Would totally recommend a day with Poppy! She made sure to turn the day into a food tour also as we also indicated that we were interested in tasting things along the way. She did this all at her expense and it was VERY appreciated.
Excellent experience and value for money. We traveled in a very comfortable van and went for a day outside bangkok. Boudha temple and dragon temple were incredible. Lunch at the bubble in the forest cafe was excellent. We couldn’t miss the railway market. The guide was super nice and knowledgeable explained all the temples history and the Thai culture. This is the second time we have used Katie as a guide on Bangkok. Our kids specifically requested that we have a day with her again if we came back. She did not disappoint and everyone had a great day. She is also like having Disneyphoto pass with you all day and so now we have lots of family pics too. Having made a quick decision to attend the Anzac Day Dawn Service at Hellfire Pass. Noc Noc Tours quickly put together an awesome itinerary. The whole journey to the historic Thailand- Burma Railway went without a hitch. Visiting Kanchanaburi to see the war graves and museum, on to my riverside hotel and being ready for the early start to attend the Dawn service The private car met me at the early hour of 2.0am in good time to be at Hellfire Pass for the Dawn commemorative service. After the service and the Gunfire Breakfast we drove back to Kanchanaburi for the long-boat trip to see The Bridge over the River Kwai. Couldn’t have asked for anything more and my appreciation goes to the very attentive guide Katie for not only putting together the Tour but her constant attention to detail and concern for my wellbeing.

We had limited time in Bangkok and our guide Nate managed to get us round everything we wanted to see including private boat on the Khlongs. Super nice chap full of knowledge and saved us loads of time by knowing exactly how to get around
Arrived in Bangkok, greeted at airport by Mimi and driver. Picked up from hotel the next day for a full tour. Visited many temples, the Royal Palace, a wonderful canal rude, the reclining Buddha, a one hour massage, delicious lunch and a ferry ride to our final temple Wat Pho.. The next day we visited China town, another temple, the flower market, a live Thai performance, another delicious lunch. Throughout the entire 3 days, our driver Mr. Laor seamlessly appeared from nowhere to pick us up in his air conditioned van. He was amazing. Our guide Mimi was beyond informative with her knowledge of every temple and venue we visited. A truly unique experience. Recommendations to any family travelling in this foreign country.

We had the most amazing private tour from Bangkok to Pattaya with Noc Noc Travel and Tours. From the very beginning, everything was perfectly organized. Nok was incredibly helpful while planning the tour and made it possible for us to travel together with our small dog. That meant so much to us! Our tour guide Som was simply wonderful – kind, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. She adapted completely to our pace and made sure everything was arranged so we could bring our dog along comfortably. We truly felt taken care of the entire day. Our tour started at the Sanctuary of Truth, which was absolutely breathtaking. Som explained so many interesting details and gave us plenty of time to explore. Booked a private tour with driver. This proved to be a no hassle way to see the sights. We moved from temple etc to the next sight with ease. The queue for a boat trip was long but we had no wait time and a boat for just us. Don’t know how Tip managed that. Tip our guide was knowledgeable, friendly with a great sense of humour. She arranged an appointment to a tailor who managed to make a linen suit in a very restricted time slot. A wonderful and informative day. Thank you Tip ( incredible lunch too)

We did a private tour with Lily for our first day in Bangkok. She was so friendly and helpful we felt like we were being shown around by a friend. Lily picked us up at our hotel and took us by ferry to the Grand Palace, Wat Po, and Wat Arun. She also took us to a tiny little Thai restaurant for lunch that we never would have known about. We learned so much from Lily! All communication from Noc before our trip was timely and very professional. This was a great way to see some top Bangkok highlights. Our guide, Athens, was great - very knowledgeable, professional, and helpful. You can see whatever you want on the tour, and Athens even accommodated a same-day change to our itinerary to go visit a more local temple (Wat Paknam - which we loved). Nice also to go on the ferry and SkyTrain with him leading the way, and without having to figure out the whole system.

We are an elderly Indian couple who decided to visit Bangkok and Auththaya on our way to Angkor Wat. We are so lucky to book it through NocNoc travels. Thanks to our cheerful personal tour guide Tip(suda), we not only learned all kinds of interesting facts about Buddha and his history, as well as the history of Bangkok and Kings Rama 1 to 10. Tip also helped us overcome the initial hurdles of using public transportation and showed us the right food stalls that even a Western European tourist's stomach can handle. It was a great day.
I had a wonderful time on my visit to Bangkok and the highlight was my personalized day tour with Lek. I gave her a list of the places I wanted to see in advance and she proposed a possible itinerary in response. During the day I was able to visit the reclining and emerald Buddhas, the Grand Palace, the flower market and Chatuchak weekend market. She met me in the lobby of my hotel and to get around town we took the MRT, BTS, bus, and ferry, which was an experience in itself. Lek is friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the history of the places we visited and several times other tourists stopped her to ask for help. If you're in Bangkok and are looking for a way to learn more about the city and its culture, I highly recommend scheduling a tour with Lek.
We finished an all day experience with Katie - she was wonderful! My husband and I are here from America for our Honeymoon and visited 3 temples today. She went above and beyond to take photos of us and show us everything there is! We toured temples, ate a wonderful lunch, and ended our day taking photos at Wat Arun. From start to finish, this experience was truly unforgettable. Noc, the organizer was extremely organized, professional, and attentive to every detail. Communication was clear, timely, and made the entire experience stress-free..... But the real MVP? Our incredible guide Poppy, we love Poppy. She kept the vibes high, the laughs flowing, and the group energized all day long and made sure we were hydrated and happy. Poppy kept our group smiling the entire time. We visited the Railway Market, floated through the Damnoen Floating Market, tasted everything in sight and bargained like pros. The temples were breathtaking, peaceful, and full of history, and Poppy made each stop feel meaningful and fun at the same time. The Tuk Tuk night tour—an absolute FOOD ADVENTURE with soooo much delicious street food. Every bite was better than the last. We did an elegant dinner cruise which was perfect from the stunning views, great music, amazing food, and all around great vibe. Oh yeah, we also took photos with tigers, something I never thought I would do. Unfortunately their Queen passed away a few weeks prior but it was interesting to learn their culture and tradition when unfortunate things like this happens and how much the people of Thailand lkved and respected their Queen. We asked for a private customized tour in Bangkok that included the railroad market, the floating market and the 3 main temples. Som was our guide and she was excellent. We had an excellent driver in a very comfortable car. Som picked us up punctually and took us on time to see the train pass through the market with spots on the first row and even took us a photo in front of the train as it was approaching us. She gave us many tips regarding shopping, took us to the best coconut ice cream and mango sticky rice boats in the floating market. The visit of the three temples was amazing. Very interesting and beautiful. Som also took us to a Thai restaurant where we, again, got the best seats. The tour was 11 hours long, we never felt rushed, we didn’t feel tired at the end of the day. We recommend Som 100%. We had an amazing and unforgettable experience. And even when we were on the islands and we needed help coming back to Bangkok, she helped us get a private driver to go to our next destination. If we come back we will definitely ask for her!!!!

I booked the tour about one month in advance. Beforehand, they contacted me so I could adjust the itinerary according to my preferences and available time. Our tour guide was Mrs. Som. She accommodated all our wishes and organized the tour in such a way that we managed to see everything we wanted throughout the day without wasting any time unnecessarily. She took great care of us and, on top of that, took nearly 100 photos—she was not only an excellent guide but also a wonderful photographer. At the end of the day, when we thought the tour was over, she even asked us if there was anything else we wanted to see, despite already driving us around the whole day. Truly a fantastic experience. We also booked a private driver with AC, who was always waiting for us with cold water at every stop. That made the whole day even more comfortable. Overall, it was a great tour and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
