Our guide was really good. He took us to wonderful restaurants to tase special food. He also organised that we could eat our favourite dish and prepare ourselves.

My husband and I booked a private tour with a local from Bangkok, Ton. He was able to guide us to great street vendors while also giving us some history on temples and areas around Chinatown. He was wonderful to be around, shared conversations and laughs while eating amazing food in Bangkok. I'd recommend booking this service if you like to eat great Thai food with a local supporting and assisting you throughout the tour! 100% satisfaction on food and tour guide!
Excellent tour with Piya. She met us at a local fresh market and taught us about the area, culture and foods. She made arrangements for us to sample several local Thai dishes that were delicious! We enjoyed learning about the country as Piya pleasantly explained it to us as we walked throughout the market and sampled the various foods. At the end she sat with us for a delicious cup of coffee and we shared mango rice as a dessert. All was lovely AND yummy.
We booked this private tour with Zarut who was an excellent host. He took us to a number of incredible street food places that you would never find on your own. He was friendly, knowledgeable and a pleasure to spend time with. I would recommend this tour very much.
Great guide. Speak English well. Knowledgeable about the food and culture! Made everything easy for us!
Great guided tour amazing to have a local tour guide who new all the places to go. Would use again many thanks for a mermorible day
Kim is an energetic and enthusiastic foodie, who genuinely enjoyed sharing his culinary insights with us. Kim connected well with our kids and us parents alike. The food tour took us across the entire market, then ended in china town with an exquisite tea tasting experience.
We took a 3 hour, 5 tastings food tour and Jojo is everything you would want in a tour guide! She was very accommodating to our limited time schedule (even picked us up in our hotel), selected places and food items that matched our dietary needs and gave us the opportunity to try things we would not have known to eat on our own. We went to Chinatown and experienced local Thai and Chinese influenced street foods, beverages and sweets. We walked through many small neighborhoods and she explained the history and culture. It was a very active and delicious afternoon. Jojo is friendly and knowledgeable and so much fun to be with. We would definitely recommend her!!
We just finished our food tour with With Locals, guided by the incredible Sam – and it was beyond AMAZING! We were blown away right from the very first food stall he took us to. It was a hidden gem: a tiny local restaurant with no English menu and no English-speaking staff – we would’ve had no idea what to order on our own. But Sam took care of everything. He ordered a variety of dishes and explained every bite in detail – not just the flavors, but the cultural stories behind them. From there, each stop just kept getting better. Sam truly set the bar high from the start and kept delivering one amazing experience after another. After sampling several delicious local dishes, he took us to Or Tor Kor Market using Tuktuk! 😊 He guided us through the market, sharing fascinating insights along the way. We eventually sat down, and Sam ordered several incredible dishes for us to try. The mango sticky rice here was on another level – so different from what we’ve had in Melbourne. Every dish was a highlight, and Sam himself made the experience unforgettable. He’s friendly, knowledgeable, speaks fluent English, and was fantastic with our kids. Today’s experience was truly beyond words. We’re so grateful to Sam and With Locals for this unforgettable tour. 100% recommended!
Apicha took us on a food tasting tour of the Chinatown market and was an excellent guide! He not only guided us to safe vendors, he also explained a lot about the Thai culture. We finished with a dinner in a very local restaurant which was amazing and definitely not something we could have found on our own. I only wish I had a bigger stomach!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our food tour with Ms Araya. She was very friendly and explained a lot about the food and the area. We tried some things we would have never known about and made some wonderful discoveries. Highly recommend!
Araya was a wonderful guide. We were a bit late because of traffic and she didn’t give us a hard time over it, as others might have. She brought us to plenty of different restaurants and food stalls while giving us local history facts. She also gave the leftover food we didn’t want to homeless folks nearby. Araya is an incredibly sweet person and a great embodiment of the ‘Land of Smiles.’ 10/10 experience, would highly recommend.
Sammy showed us the local street food both on the pavement of a busy neighbourhood as well as at the market. Good food, learning about the food and culture.
Jojo was wonderful! She took us on a street food tour and customised it on the fly to suit the tastes of our 8 year old, while still giving us some seriously delicious food. Jojo was energetic, enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable. We had a fantastic time.
Araya chose two fascinating food markets, including famous Or Tor Kor market (considered one of the best in the world). She toured us around, explaining, offering little tastes of fruits and snacks. Lots of insight into Thai food culture and life in Bangkok. At the end of the walk through much of the market, she said, “Now, please pick six foods that caught your fancy, and I’ll go get them for you.” Tough to choose, but we managed! Araya’s tour was calm, beautiful and tasty. Very highly recommended
Unfortunately I would not recommend this tour for this money. We were looking for a tour on Monday, and this was one of the few available options, which was a plus. We arrived later in the evening, and our guide, Jojo, was very flexible in accommodating an evening tour, which was a really nice touch. She accompanied us to the market, answering our questions thoroughly whenever we had them, although she didn’t offer much commentary on her own. The market she chose was a temple anniversary celebration, which was a nice find. Once inside, she guided us to several food stands and explained the dishes we would try. The experience was supposed to last two hours, but it felt like the first hour—traveling to the market—was counted as part of the tour which was not clear at the beginning. While the tour was helpful, in my opinion, it was quite expensive for what it offered.
We absolutely loved this tour! Our guide, Jojo was fantastic. She chose foods that were delicious and was able to accommodate our dietary restrictions. She also taught us how to approach a food market and what to get. We were full for hours after this tour! After, Jojo even helped us navigate public transit to get back to our hotel. She was so kind, and we cannot recommend this tour highly enough.
Nok is an amazing guide. She took the time to figure out our taste preferences and determine how adventurous we are. Based on that she lead us on a tasteful (pun intended) tour. She has detailed knowledge of the foods and was happy to share. We had a chicken curry and she pointed out the hint of cinnamon in the meat. The downside to the tour is that you get too much food to eat and end up leaving some on the plate. We truly enjoyed our time with Nok and have recommended to friends coming next month that they setup a tour with her.
Araya was great! This was our first introduction to Thailand and Thai food. She was so kind, a wealth of information and introduced to a variety of foods. I would definitely use her again.
Oh my god! Don't hesitate and book this food tour!!! Sudarat is the most lovely host you can imagine. Very kind, speaks English so well and is a total people person. She's travelled a lot herself and is a great conversationalist. And the food she takes you to taste, YUMMMM 😋. She goes out of her way to cater to your every need and I had an amazing evening with her. Highly recommended and I would go again if I would visit Bangkok another time. Thank you Sudarat ❤️
Withlocals food tour - We had a fab time on the food tour with Araya. She explained so much about Thai culture and food,.. and tirelessly answered our endless questions with a smile. We then had the difficult job of choosing which dishes to eat! The tuktuk ride to the Michelin soup restaurant was fun,.. and we just managed to squeeze in the delish drinks and soup. A great experience thank you Araya!
Had a great introduction to Bangkok with Araya. She answered all my questions about Thailand and Bangkok. She took us to some really great food spots and we had a lot of delicious dishes. She was so personable and told us about her life in Thailand. This tour was perfect for us as we were staying at a hotel very close by. Would definitely recommend Araya for your experience around Thailand
Araya was so friendly, cheerful, and helpful. She answered all of our questions about Thai food and culture. It was so much calmer having a private guide and getting to interact one on one. All of the food we tried was so delicious, authentic, and unique! We never would have tried it on our own without this tour.
Araya met us on a hot and steamy afternoon our first day in Bangkok. We are jet lagged but eager, and at our pace, she guided us through the market, introducing us to foods and flowers that make up the richness of the Thai culture. Thank you, Araya, for not insisting we must eat durian, and for sprinkling in the lovely stories of your family and childhood. Araya's English is perfect, and this gracious host left us feeling adventurous for the rest of our stay in Thailand.
Our food tour with Araya was nothing short of spectacular! From the moment we met her, she made us feel like old friends, guiding us through the bustling streets of Bangkok with warmth, enthusiasm, and a deep knowledge of the city’s food culture. The tour was thoughtfully curated, giving us a perfect blend of classic Thai staples and hidden gems that only a local would know. Each stop brought something unique, from aromatic street food stalls to cozy family-run eateries. Araya’s explanations of the ingredients, cooking techniques, and history behind each dish added a layer of appreciation that made every bite even more delicious. Beyond the food, Araya shared insights about Thai culture and traditions, making the experience both educational and heartwarming. She was attentive to everyone’s preferences and dietary needs, ensuring the whole group had an unforgettable time. This tour wasn’t just about tasting amazing food; it was about immersing ourselves in the heart and soul of Bangkok. We left with full stomachs, happy hearts, and memories we’ll treasure forever. If you’re in Bangkok, don’t miss the chance to join a food tour with Araya—it’s an absolute must-do!
My husband and I booked a private food tour with Araya and had a fabulous time! Booking and communication were very easy with quick response times. The meeting point was central. Araya took us to some great spots that we never would have found on our own. And she really personalized the tour, exposing us to new foods of Thailand. Additionally, she gave us great history and stories on the city. Overall, I highly recommend Araya. Thank you!
Me and my girlfriend booked Araya for the foodtour the day we arrived to Bangkok. She was an amazing host and had a wonderful positive energy about her. It was a great introduction to the city too. The food, she selected, was tasty, interesting, diverse, including visiting one restaurant with Bib Gourmand distinction. We also got introduced to many local fruits, rode tuk tuk and visited the weekend market. She also sent us a summary of what we had eaten later and recommended restaurants for other days in Bangkok. Lastly, she came about 15 min early to the location of the meeting and her English was great. We cannot recommend her highly enough. Khop khun krap Araya
First trip to Thailand! Fun and filling afternoon with Sammy tasting a good variety of street and market foods. Included a ride on Tuk Tuk too!
My partner and I had such a wonderful time with Oi! I really wanted to try as much Thai street food as possible but I am allergic to soy and I also have celiac's disease. I messaged Oi and asked if she could cater to this and she responded quickly letting me know this would be no problem and even provided a message in Thai explaining my situation that I can use in the future. The tour itself was great! We tried a number of different classic Thai dishes and toured around where there were all sorts of vendors. If you're feeling more adventurous there were also lots of vendors selling more exotic things. Along the way Oi told us all sorts of little pieces of trivia and we had a great time. Highly recommended all round!
Araya was professional, courteous and chose fabulous places to try the local cuisine. Ot was not only very good but there was plenty to eat. Prompt and good communication. Just perfect. We highly recommend you choose Araya for any tour. You won't regret it!
Nok was our guide for A Taste of Bangkok Street Food Tour. Nok was a wonderful host with a wealth of knowledge on Thai food and produce. She guided us to eateries we wouldn't have gone to our self, or even knew how to find. (Highlight was the duck ... yum) We found some of the cuisine a little on the sweet side but that is OK. We signed up for the experience of tasting the food as part of a discovery of the cuisine. Nok was also knowledgeable about the areas we visited, beyond the food. A very nice lady and host. Definitely recommend.
Piaporyn was a great guide. She was knowledgeable about the food and had us eating at a restaurant, food stalls, and local organic market. She shared her love of food and was incredibly cheerful. She was kind enough to drop us off at Chatuchak weekend market. She offered up her number if we had any questions during our stay.
I had an amazing experience with Khun Araya’s food tour through Bangkok! Even as a chef, I found the tour to be totally cool and a lot of fun. The best part is that it doesn’t feel like a typical tourist activity—instead, it’s like exploring the city’s culinary gems with a good friend by your side. Khun Araya’s knowledge and passion for Thai cuisine really shine through, making every stop on the tour exciting and unique. From hidden street food stalls to local favorites, it was a journey filled with flavor and fun. Great job, Khun Araya—wow! I can't recommend this tour enough. If you love food and want a genuine, friendly experience, this is the way to go.
I loved doing a walking food tour with Araya. She is kind, knowledgable, very smart and helpful. We loved the food she picked for us and suggestions she made. I learned a lot about the culture in a short amount of time.
We enjoyed our tour with Donald very much! Great food experience and detailed information about food culture and ingredients. Beside of the tastings on the street, the market visit was definitely a highlight! Unbelievable variety of fruits, vegetables, fish, seafood and different meat, accompanied by little food stalls where You can taste everything! Donald was a great host, funny, informative, the perfect guide! 100% recommended!
Kim (Apicha) was great ! We enjoyed local food and drinks in the beautiful China Town and Golden Ruler! Food was amazing, and the company even better. He has a lot of knowledge and passion for food and he makes you feel safe... crossing the streets of bangkok is no joke ! Thank you :)
Jojo was very adaptable to our needs of mobility and the weather. She explained many things other than that of food and provided a variety of tastings along the way. She was friendly, helpful and most knowledgeable!
Fantastic walk finding interesting and tasty food. Origins of different dishes and great to try foods we may not have tried before. Plenty to eat and fascinating histories. Ayaya is a lovely person, who is charming and very knowledgeable. Thank you Araya. Bless you and find much happiness.
Moddy was AMAZING! She teaches you so much about Thai 🇹🇭 food and culture. If you are an experienced thai food taster, she offers you the chance to eat like the locals in Bangkok. She also speaks perfect English and makes you feel comfortable. WE LOVED IT! We will request her again for another tour next time we are in Bangkok.
Wonderful day learning of Bangkok and enjoying tuck-tuk, boats and metro to see temples, flower market, and food market with a couple of great meals.
I had a few hour layover in Bangkok and decided to try explore a bit of Bangkok through its local cuisine. I was not disappointed! Araya was the perfect guide - knowledgeable, flexible and in the know. If you want to experience some of the best local food in the most authentic and local places, take a tour with Araya!
My family of three (teenage daughter) did the food tour with Sudarat and loved it. Very informative, well paced and delicious. We got to choose our dishes and learned about more items that we actually ate (declined some offers to try things like the bugs). Sudarat was wonderful and I'd definitely do another tour with her. She was also very quick to respond to questions I had while planning.
Out group of 5 including 2 college aged kids had a great time doing a food tour with Big. He explained everything from the 7/11 to how taxi stands work along with all the food information and great tastings. He also gave us excellent history information as we went through the tastings. Big spends time between Thailand and the US, so he is especially good for Americans as he knows both cultures well. If you are in Bangkok, take a tour with Big!
Thanks Sammy for taking us through some of your favorite local spots. We had a really great time and we both learned a lot about street food, Bangkok and Thai food culture. Sammy is a super friendly host, very knowledgeable, funny and kind. We highly recommend any tour with him. Thank you! Soph&Oz
I had a great time with Patomporn, or JoJo. I was 1/2 hour early, and she came right away to the meeting place. She thought her English was not that good, but she was able to explain everything to me. There was only one word for a local fruit that she had to look up on google, and it did not have an English translation. She had to ask for thai chili peppers and spices for me. She was also able to get only a couple fruit to try instead of a kilogram of fruit. I highly recommend her, but you should have two people. It was a lot of food for one person, and I took some back with me.
I had such a great time with Piyaporn tasting my way around some of the best food Bangkok had to offer. one of the primary reasons I was visiting Bangkok was to try the food, and taking this tour with Piyaporn was like getting shown around by a local friend. her passion for food and sharing what she knew about Bangkok and the items we tried made the tour that much better. she even provided me with recommendations for items I wanted to try that we didn't get to try on the tour! I would highly recommend Piyaporn and this experience to anyone wanting to explore Bangkok's food scene.
Kim was a great host! He took a group of 5 of us around China Town on a fast paced and fun food tour! We ate plenty of food, sipped tea, rode a tuk tuk, and went out of his way for one last stope with our group. He answered questions for us and was funny! Thanks Kim!
We (2 persons) did the ‘A taste of Bangkok: Street food tour’. It was a great afternoon. Sammy can tell great stories about the area and customs. We had some delicious tastings, and next time you know where to go. It is not “just” a food tour but the tour also tells a lot about culture and we visited a Hindu Temple, with a lot of explanation from Sammy. It really feels like you are walking the city with someone you already knew. The funniest thing was that the next day we visited one of the many many temples in Bangkok, in a complex with even more temples and many visitors, and we suddenly saw Sammy with two guest among the visitors. Such a coincidence. It felt like meeting a friend!
Kim was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable and passionate about good quality food. A great start at a locals restaurant then a visit to a market with lots of tasting opportunities. It was also great to have Kim as our guide in China Town as it’s an amazing but all senses consuming place! The tea shop is not to be missed either. Thank you!
We did an evening street food tour with Sammy. Everything was perfect and all 6 members of our group loved it! We had 2 vegetarians and Sammy made a big effort to ensure they had great options too without comprising for anyone. Went to some fantastic vendors that we never would have found ourselves. Highly recommend doing a tour with Sammy!
