Highly recommend. Really wonderful experience. The staff were kind, lunch was really great, and the elephants were so special.

Very friendly staff/caretakers, the elephants seem well treated, most were rescues from around Thailand and one 800kg "baby". We had a great time! One of them is pregnant too and should have a new one within the next 3-7 months!
I booked last minute, as the rains were due in and so I booked Saturday for a Sunday. We was picked up which was a very reasonable rate and taken to the sanctuary where we meet other groups from other areas. It was well organised, lots of facts and information on the elephants whilst we waited for all parties to arrive. We were given tips to wear on top of our own clothes so that the elephants knew you was there to feed them and the pockets are big enough to hold that days food. We left our bags on the side and water bottles were available. After feeding the elephants and a quick rest break we went off on to the hill and was walked around to the other elephants where we learnt about they back stories. They all had a guide who helped the elephants, no canes, no whips nothing bad was seen. They have lots of room. The final part was going down to the watering hole, I did not get in the water as it was very dirty as would be expected and one elephant did poop in the water so I was pretty glad I was not in there. After this we went back to the start to freshen up have an amazing pad Thai lunch. They was a shop to buy gifts and no pressure at all to go in buy. I did as I wanted to support the elephants and they had some nice stuff. After this the driver took us back to the hotel. I would highly recommend, it’s about as good as you can get, these are all elephants that have been rescued from previous life’s of logging or used as riding elephants. All female apart from the new baby. So they can never be returned to the wild as they have only known a life with humans and would never survive in the wild. They can live their life’s in relative peace. We did feed them but had rules on touching basically do not, so I felt this was as ethical as we could get and still learn and appreciate them up close.
This was so worth the drive. We saw 7 beautiful elephants, including a pregnant female, and a baby, Charlie. We had lots of interaction with the animals including feeding them and walking near them as they ate, bathed, and lived their lives. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
My family and I went for an afternoon, and LOVED our time here. It was the perfect half day trip and my favorite part of our Thailand trip - I highly recommend. The staff was fantastic too - Adam and Don were our tour guides, their English and Chinese were great. You can tell how much they know and care about these elephants. They definitely create a heaven on earth for these animals
Wasn’t sure after reading some reviews but booked anyways for me and my 3 year old son. It was amazing! We booked hotel pick-up and the pick-up time gets confirmed the night before via email or WhatsApp. We picked up two other couples in Bangkok and the total drive to the sanctuary was exactly 2.5 hours. It’s a small sanctuary and while you wait for the other groups to arrive you are positioned under an alfresco next to the elephants already. The guides are very enthusiastic and make it a fantastic day. Of course there are rules that need to be explained first on how to safely feed the elephants and then you get into it, the guides make endless photos for you with your and their cameras and at the end of the day you get a link to a website with all the photos for free. We got into the water with the elephants and enjoyed the pad Thai lunch. Cannot fault this experience.
Amazing experience- everything was spot on! The elephants are kept healthy and clean, the whole facility is neat and you even get lunch which was very tasty. I would go there for the second time!
Everything was perfect! Jumbo had so much information and was an amazing tour guide! Definitely recommend!
We had a wonderful experience with this tour company! From start to finish, everything was well organized, and the trip was comfortable and enjoyable. Mod and the driver were friendly, professional, and attentive to our needs, making the entire journey stress-free and memorable. We truly appreciated the excellent service and would highly recommend this tour company to anyone looking for a great travel experience!
A great experience with knowledgeable staff.
Shittle was comfortable. The tour guide (Mod) was funny and knowledgeable. The elephants were so cute!
The experience at the sanctuary was excellent. The guides were great and the elephants were magical. It really seems like these folks are trying their best to help these mistreated animals live a better life. The transportation to the sanctuary from Bangkok was not as great. The driver barely talked to us so it felt a little strange, and there was no break in an almost three hour drive but since we had no communication about this part we did not know to bring water or that there would not be a bathroom break. Our driver also got the bus stuck in the sandy ground on the way out, but that was thankfully resolved quickly with the help of the sanctuary pickup truck! With better transportation this would be a five star experience for sure! Highly recommend anyway.
This will be one of the most unforgettable experiences of your life. The opportunity to interact with all 8 elephants (soon to be 9!), whether feeding them or helping them bathe or just BEING with them is a lifetime-making memory. If you’re on the fence about doing this… don’t be. Book it now!
This was an amazing experience! We got to feed and help bathe the elephants. They each had 24 hour caretakers and were treated very well. It was so interesting to hear their stories as they all came from various backgrounds. Highly recommend. Don’t forget your bug spray though!
OMG, this was super incredible. You actually hang out with elephants, and feed them and swim with them! It was absolutely just wonderful, and this sanctuary does not harm the elephants at all. They are so sweet, and you should 10000% do this!
The experience with the elephants was OK, BUT be aware that there is a 3 hour trip to get to the site from Bangkok. The lunch was just an insult: some gelatinous noodles with a few bits of tofu and some worm watermelon and a bottle of water. A one star experience.
Good guide. Learnt a lot about elephants. Nice to feed them close up. Only 8 elephants in the sanctuary. Water part wasn’t fun. Just a small dirty water hole. Didn’t want to go in - nobody did. Nice Pad Thai lunch and water melon. Good driver. A long journey three hours back due to traffic. Two hours going. Long walk uphill to see elephants in natural surrounds. Feeding was at bottom of hill. Friendly elephants obviously used to seeing us humans. Enjoyable experience but not really special.
This is an amazing experience led by a very special team of people who have take one of the world’s beloved animals and assure they’re well kept and safe. Handsome Man and Crazy Man(he’s not crazy) are a neat duo. I enjoyed listening to them both especially Crazy Man as he’s young but very well spoken! This experience gave me another respect for elephants in general. I got to feed an elephant by hand, like wth. Only in Thailand.
This is a great experience! I would advise taking insect repellent with you as there are a lot of bugs. Cold water is provided and the veg pad thai was delicious. We were guided through by crazy man and handsome man. They were hilarious and took great photos of us. They really love the elephants. We met them all and fed them sugar cane sticks. You can bathe them afterwards but just beware because they roam free within the sanctuary, they do their business where they please which includes in the water so you do stand in elephant muck when giving them a bath. Nonetheless its a great experience and i wouldnt change it! Take a spare change of clothes as you are waist deep in the water and a towel! It was a great day out!
Had a wonderful time learning and interacting with the elephants...Charlie, the baby is so cute! Our tour guide was also awesome.
A great opportunity to watch these majestic animals as they live their best life eating, wandering, bathing and exploring the sanctuary. Pick up was efficient and well communicated, even if the driver didn’t actually talk or tell us anything about the journey. The guides at the sanctuary are great and clearly passionate. Lunch was decent and the facility, although rustic, was more than adequate. Loved hearing the stories of the different elephants and feeding them by hand and bathing with them was absolutely amazing. The group was small enough that everyone had the opportunity for questions and photos. Would recommend.
Very cool half day experience seeing this up close, took about two hours outside Bangkok. Definitely worth the drive and money learned a lot about elephants.
We had a great experience during our visit. We started out getting to feed the elephants, then walked around visiting each of the elephants, then were able to get in the water and splash them. We then had a great meal of pad Thai which concluded the trip. We had a very easy experience with our hotel pickup as well. Jumbo, our guide for the day, was great and very knowledgeable to answer any questions. I would definitely recommend this experience!
On my voucher it says pick up from the hotel, and at the very last minute they told me i had to go somewhere else
If you come to Bangkok and you don’t do this, you are missing out. Excellent amazing must do.. They have a very good program going on for these elephants.
The experience was amazing. Share with elephants was incredible, you can touch them and shower them, the sanctuary is very respectful. Also our guide Crazy Man explain us everything so careful and really funny. Please do not lose the chance to do this tour
Such an amazing experience and LULU was the best guide! He knew a lot about the elephants and how to help keep them safe and healthy
WOW! What an experience! Don't let the 2-hour drive from Bangkok turn you off ... This is well-worth the time and expense involved and was a major highlight of our time in Thailand! The van picked us up from our hotel and brought us to the sanctuary, almost in Pattaya. Our "Handsome Man Mohd" guide's English was understandable, and the elephants were AMAZING. We were given blue pinnies to wear so the elephants would recognize us as friendly, and got to get up close and feed them sugar cane snacks and walk with them around the sanctuary's grounds to learn about the sanctuary and its effort to provide a calm, comforting place for these amazing animals to retire and live life in comfort. The goal is to support local businesses and establish its footprint in the region, similar to its sister sanctuary in Chiang Mai. The elephants are escorted 24/7 by a human handler, and it was clear that each elephant had a personality and a connection to the handlers. The group favorite was Charlie, a relatively young elephant. He didn't know his own strength and wanted to play ... and was pretty rambunctious, bumping into people and generally having fun. The guides took plenty of photos and posted them online for free downloads. The afternoon ended with a beautiful Pad Thai lunch ... delicious!
Fabulous time seeing the elephants who are truly cared for by all.. well worth the journey from Bangkok.
Amazing, being able to get up close with elephants was a once in a lifetime experience. The guides were great too
This was a long 2 hr trip to get to sanctuary but worth it. Just to see the elephants in their own world was amazing. I didn’t partake getting in the water with them. The tofu pad Thai was amazing! A lot of flies constantly everywhere while sitting at the table.
Scheduling was easy and pick up location was convenient. Loved the elephants and interaction with the elephants and tour guide. Charlie (baby elephant) was adorable. Well worth the trip!
I had an amazing time on this excursion to the elephant sanctuary about an hour from Bangkok. The driver was punctual picking me up from my hostel and the van nicely air conditioned for the drive. Immediately upon arrival at the sanctuary we were given instructions and history regarding the elephants. Our guide was very entertaining, very knowledgeable (I learned quite a bit) and you can tell he truly enjoys his job making the elephants feel safe. The elephants are very well taken care of, happy, and allowed to roam free on the sanctuary which makes my elephant loving heart so happy to witness! Plenty of photo ops and feeding these majestic creatures while respecting the boundaries of the elephants. My absolute favorite part was going into the water hole waist deep and assisting with cooling off the elephants by throwing water on them, while being up close and personable. Talk about an experience and one to always remember! Afterwards, a delightful vegetarian pad thai prepared by the staff, and ao tasty! Fresh fruit and other items avaialble prior to leaving the sanctuary back to my hostel. A wonderful day trip and experience.
The pickup process was extremely disorganised. The tour was scheduled to depart at 11:00am, and at 10:30am we contacted our guide to confirm the precise meeting point, as the location details were unclear. Unfortunately, we received no response. We waited until 10:55am before contacting Viator directly, but they were also unable to reach the tour host. At 11:20am, twenty minutes after the scheduled departure time. we were informed that the meeting location had been changed and were instructed to proceed to a new pickup point. This last-minute change, without prior notice or communication, felt highly unprofessional and indicative of poor planning and coordination. That said, once we arrived at the elephant sanctuary, the experience itself was excellent. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and inclusive, and we thoroughly enjoyed the visit
Amazing facility with caring staff and cruelty free open area for the rescue elephants. Highly recommended
These animals are very well loved and cared for. They were used previously as work animals, and can't go back to the wild. The elephants arrive at the preserve injured and sometimes malnourished and these people re-hab them. You have an opportunity to provide the funding necessary for their lifetime of care. Plus+++ . . . It's a BLAST! Where else can you interact with elephants? They're surprisingly cute and playful considering their enormous size. Very gentle animals actually. 🙂
We loved learning about and interacting with the elephants. Staff was very knowledgeable and helpful with questions. They even provided free photos. Lunch was great! Would highly recommend this elephant rescue!
Overall trip was pretty cool! Our guide, lulu aka sexy man, was great! I only wish I’d known ahead of time the sanctuary is 2 hrs away.
A bunch of decided to conclude our Southeast Asia tour by going to this sanctuary and we had a blast! So cool to be so up close to these animals and to know they’re well-cared for and in great hands. Highly recommend this if you like elephants! The only negative thing was the ride back to Bangkok. The driver didn’t really like to run the air conditioner and any time the temp got “down” to 28C, he’d shut it off. When we tried to get him to turn it back on, he said he didn’t speak any English!
The sanctuary was great--very informative and lots of time to interact with the elephants! The ride from Bangkok was minimalist though with no guide and a driver who could barely communicate with us. Lunch was filling, but the gift shop was minimalist. Still, worth it for the elephants and the guides onsite! Unforgettable!
This was a fabulous day trip! The sanctuary has 8 elephants at the moment and our guide Lulu (aka sexy man!) knew everything about them, their stories, personalities and very clearly loved his job and them He gave us lots of information and made sure that we treated the elephants with respect. It was great I just see them playing and living their lives We did the afternoon tour so had Padthai on arrival, which was delicious with free water. During the day Lulu took lots of pictures which were available for free to download the next day It is a long drive there, at least two hour each way in a nearly air conditioned minibus, so be prepared for that. The location of the pick up changed, but we were fully informed by WhatsApp and email
This was the most exciting and most wonderful tour I’ve ever taken!!!! I loved learning about the elephants and having several opportunities to engage with them! I always felt safe and the elephants were very well treated! All of the staff were professional and kind. They went out of their way to ensure that everyone had a wonderful time. The Pad Thai and the Thai tea were incredible! This tour is so well organized to ensure the safety and comfort of guests! We had very young children and some elderly! Based upon the smiles and enthusiasm, I’m sure that this was an unforgettable experience for everyone!
An outstanding experience of elephants in their native habitats being rescued or unwanted. They are domestic and cannot be returned to the wild, but this is the next best thing. Our tour guides were great, the facility open and natural, and a great lunch was served. I highly recommend!
This was an incredible experience for elephant lovers! Learn and get up close interactions with the eight elephants of this ethical sanctuary. Definitely worth your time! Experience includes feeding, walking, And swimming/bathing with the elephants. You will not be disappointed!
So convenient from Bangkok with hotel pick up. This is the same program that is in Chiang Mai but much closer for day trips. The food was also excellent.
It's amazing what the sanctuary does for the elephants. It is a once in a lifetime experience and very humbling. That being said, we went on a Sunday and were fortunate not to have lots of traffic otherwise the trip would have been spent mostly in the pickup van. The food at the sanctuary was also very decent. Overall we would have liked more time to interact with the elephants, however we understand they are meant to be wild animals and not trick ponys. You practically spent a day getting to/from the sanctuary for less than an hour of elephant interaction. :/
The experience was the best I have ever done, you have nearly a 2 hour drive but in an air conditioned bus, but don’t be put off it is 💯 worth it. Our guide Lulu was amazing so knowledgeable and funny he tells you so much about the Elephants he is clearly dedicated to them and knows them all personally. You get to meet the Elephants, feed them, touch them and bathe with them it’s amazing, please go and support this Sanctuary so more Elephants can be rescued and live a happy life. You won’t regret it.
Besides being told our tour guide would pick usup at our hotel then after payment we were told we needed to cross the river to meet the tour guide. After crossing there was no tour guide just a driver who spoke no English. After 2 1/2 hours driving I contacted Viator and asked if we had been kidnapped. They checked and later said he was the designated driver. I told them if they did not call him and tell him we needed a bathroom stop I was calling the police. By then it had been four hours with no brake in a rickety old noisy van. When we finally arrived at the elephant sanctuary everyone else had eaten hours ago our lunch had been sitting in the outside breeze for two hours. Everyone from another company had eaten a nice warm meal and sat waiting on us. The tour guide at the elephant sanctuary was quite kind and funny. We did enjoy that part.
Very special experience to be so close to the well cared for elephants and be able to feed them and get in the water with them. Team very informative, funny and interesting.
Experience is great awesome time once at the sanctuary the only thing that let it down today was the an ride very uncomfortable little space
