Zee was a perfect guide! He was friendly, on time, accommodating and very knowledgeable. He really showed us Bangkok like a local and we loved it! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
Our tour with Zarut was fantastic. We went as a family of 4 with an 8yo and a 12yo. Zarut was knowledgable, patient and considerate of our family. Not only did he talk to us about all of the famous sites but he also know the best places to stand in shade whilst he spoke, pointed out toilets and water fountains and made sure we were all comfortable and happy throughout. With some excellent photo opportunities too! We enjoyed our time with him so much that we booked two further days of tours, each one unique and interesting. Zarut went above and beyond in showing us around Bangkok, how to use the subway system, grabs and even safer, greener tuk tuk rides. Thank you Zarut. We saw and experienced much more than we could have imagined.
Absolutely incredible!! From start to finish, Z was knowledgeable, friendly, and made every part of the experience enjoyable. He shared so much about the local culture and history while making sure we were comfortable and having fun. His enthusiasm and attention to detail truly made the trip special. We left with amazing memories and a much deeper appreciation for Thailand. Highly recommend, he is the best!!!
Our group of five (5) recently completed a multi-day tour with Zarut. We had a wonderful experience with Zarut as he showed us the beautiful treasures of Bangkok and also its’ hidden gems. I have traveled extensively worldwide having visited nearly 100 countries and all seven continents. In my travels, I have utilized the services of dozens of private tour guides. I highly recommend Zarut as he is one of the finest private tour guides that I have had the pleasure of meeting. Zarut is very friendly, funny, kind and extremely knowledgeable about the present and former history of Bangkok and all things Thailand. He is extremely detail oriented and tailored an itinerary to align with our specific interests. If you are looking for a great private guide to show you the beauty of Bangkok; it is without reservation that I suggest that you contact Zarut for a remarkable experience.
Jojo was a fantastic guide. She quickly accommodated our walking limitations and showed us much of the city by boat and Tuk Tuk! She is very knowledgeable and her English is good. We highly recommend her.
Moody was great. Very informative and went out of her way on many occasions to cater to my needs during the tour. She made the experience very comfortable and was mindful of getting me home okay despite being in the opposite direction of where she was going. 10/10 would recommend.
Tony was fantastic for what we had 2 half day tours during our stay in Bangkok. The tour was at a great pace, both for the china old town, the temples and royal palace. Was able to modify tours easily when various activities were happening in the temples that day. Would recommend Tony for your next adventure for a private tour in Bangkok
Our family really enjoyed our time with Chef Hnoi. Her communication was excellant. SHe engaged with and focused on our girls. She was lovely answering all our questions. We went to the flower market and loved working with the lotus flower then offering our flowers at the temple. Wat Pho was so interesting and Chef Hnoi added to our understanding of the community and the culture. We went on a rickshaw ride and got ice cream at a lovely loval shop. We then went to the Golden mount/Wat Sak where the kids enjoyed ringing the gongs and counting the steps. We ended at a nice air condition space to look around some shops. She was also kind enough to show us the metro system and give us some advice on other adventures. Really well balanced time with a kind and very knowledgable guide. Thank you Chef Hnoi for enriching our stay in Thailand and helping us to see the city as you do.
Sudarat was a gem for the whole family from start to finish of the tour. She kept all of us entertained and we really enjoyed our Bangkok tour! Having been to Bangkok a few times, this tour really hit the right spots with new experiences especially for the kids. Thank you Sudarat for taking good care of us!
Araya is a wonderful person and guide. Kind, flexible and knowledgeable..any tour with her would be great! Highly recommend her services.
ChetChai was extremely knowledgeable and taught us all different things about Bangkok, Buddhism, showed us high points of various temples and monuments. He also showed us how to make lotus offerings at the temples and took us on a tuk-tuk ride through the flower market it was truly an amazing journey. He was a kind and wonderful guide, I would highly recommend him.
An amazing day with Sammy, he was able to keep my kids very entertained despite my 9 year old being very tired! We were able to experience things we never would have experienced without his help. I particularly loved the boat trips and the delicious snacks he picked up for us. We saw heaps of Bangkok, learned an lot and felt very safe and welcomed. Would recommend to anyone.
I did the “Highlights and Hidden Gems of Bangkok” with Tony today. He was fabulous!! He educated me so much about Bangkok/Thailand history, stories about Buddhism/Hinduism, and current Thai life. One highlight was Wat Ratchabophit Sathitmahasimaram Ratchaworawihan, which was a stunning temple with 1/10th of the crowd of the more renowned temples. Tony even helped me negotiate with the Taxi driver after the tour ended. I will definitely be doing another tour with Tony when I return to Bangkok!!
We had a great tour with Sudarat. We got to see temples, the reclining Buddha, markets, went on tuk tuk rides and even fed turtles. Sudarat made sure it was fun for both kids and adults. This tour was the first thing we did in Bangkok and it really gave us a nice taste of what the city has to offer. Highly recommend booking a tour with Sudarat!
Andy was an amazing guide on our tour of The Royal Palace and Reclining Budha. He organised a convenient start time with clear instructions on where to meet and how we could travel there on the river. He has such in depth knowledge about palace and the Budha and shared this with us in an engaging way. We have spent the last few days discussing the origins of Buddhism and reading more about our visit. I would highly recommend using withlocals and picking Andy as your guide.
Tuangtip was an absolute delight. She was kind, knowledgeable, and so fun! We felt this tour was the perfect amount of activities to get us oriented to Bangkok without feeling overwhelmed. She also took amazing pictures of us and sent to me right after! Would highly recommend booking with her - we would again if we were in Bangkok for longer! Thank you so much for a beautiful morning!
Akarin was absolutely wonderful. He’s clearly an expert in Thai history and in three hours I don’t think we even scratched the surface of what he knows. He was very kind and welcoming and is a great ambassador for the country. If you’re interested in history and culture I would definitely recommend booking a tour with Akarin.
We had previously visited the Grand Palace without a guide & thought we were missing so much. After our tour with Araya we are fully correct in our thinking. The historical context of the buildings, & connection with Thai Royal Family was expertly delivered in flawless English. Araya was charming and open to all our requests & questions. We kept to a pace that allowed us to see everything without being rushed. Thank you Araya. We will definitely use Withlocals again.
We booked the Hidden Gems tour with Hnoi and she gave us the perfect start for our first stay in Bangkok. We visited a local mall, the flower market, the temple Wat Arun and a street market. We also sampled delicious food. Hnoi was a perfect guide, very knowledgeable, very relaxed and very friendly. She also explained how the subway system and the boats on the river work. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with her and will recommend her further!
Araya is the best tour guide I've ever had. Her english is perfect and she knows Thai history, the history of the Thai Monarchy, and the architecture transformations of the Grand Palace. She is thoughtful and understanding of the difficulties I have with mobility.
We had a super day in Bangkok together with Chef Hnoi. Warm, engaging and knowledgable. She explained not only the history behind the places we visited, she made sure we understood Bangkoks public transport system and took amazing photos of us during the day. After the official tour was over, we asked for help to find a restaurant, she showed us a lovely place and stayed to share the meal with us. Would book again with her in a heartbeat!🤩
Sammy was a great guide. We had an awesome day. He helped our kids to feel safe and included, showed us around, always had things our kids could do. Highlight for our kids (3 and 6) was Tuk Tuk and feeding the turtles. It also laid a great foundation for the rest of our stay, as Sammy gave us tons of tips on stuff to do the following days. Really made the difference for our stay!
We loved our time on a tour with Chatchai! He was very knowledgeable on Thai culture and we got some great information from him on the tour. Great way to dive a bit deeper into Thai culture
We took the 3-hour Bangkok city tour with Saravarint and had a wonderful experience. She took us to flower and food markets, two temples, and on a boat along the Chao Phraya. She also brought us to a fantastic local place for lunch (not included in the tour). Saravarint was very attentive to our interests, adjusting the tour to best suit us. I was particularly interested in Thai history and she carefully and expertly answered all my questions. Strongly recommended! Thank you Saravarint!
Sammy was so friendly, funny and knowledgeable. He took us through the flower market and giving us info on the flowers used for offerings in temples and traditional foods. He also planned a little lesson on opening a lotus flower which we all enjoyed. He took us to a beautiful temple where he explained lots of things to us. The temple was so quite we had it almost to ourselves which was amazing. My 6yr old enjoyed feeding the turtles, boat rides and Chinese fortune telling sticks. The tour was aimed perfectly to entertain our whole family including our teenager. I would highly recommend Sammy as a tour guide and the family tour in general. We all had the best time, we were sad when it was over. Thank you Sammy.
Our family of 5 (kids ages 17-21) had a wonderful experience in Bangkok with Nui! Nui showed us vibrant markets that locals use (flower, fruit and veg, desserts, clothing- everything)! She introduced us to Thai snacks/food and drinks. The Tuktuk ride was super fun. Using the public ferry transport was a highlight-seeing Bangkok from the river is a must. Our time in Bangkok was short and we saw so much in 3 hours. Our family was late meeting up with Nui and she waited for us-she was in constant communication—we are so grateful! Thank you Nui!
We had a great time with Jojo. She customized the trip to our needs. In case we come back to Bangkok and consider to book another experience, we definitely try to do it with Jojo. Thank you Jojo for this lovely day
Artty is an erudite Guide knowing about the history of the city and the particularities of Thai buddhism in depth. Entrrtaining, flexible and well liked in every place you go count on it being your lucky day if you the chance to spend a day with him.
First impressions pave the way for your entire day (and in some ways your entire trip) and as soon as we met Artty we knew we had made the best choice. First a settling-in in welcome, with a trip to a market selling Buddhist artefacts, relaxing us in his company and building a much-needed picture of Thai culture. Arttys knowledge was vast as we went around the Grand Palace, he knew the cool shady spots to stop and talk and found just the perfect balance between telling bits of history but not rambling on. Moving on we had choices. This was our tour and after discussion, we went to an area in Wat Po area where we sampled some amazing street food, followed by a superb lunch in a local eatery. We were literally amongst the locals. Artty then shared useful tips and advice for our next few days in Bangkok alone, and said he would send some info which he did within a few hours. It’s very difficult to know who to pick from an account of somebody on a web site but do not worry, we have done the work for you. You will not be disappointed with Artty!
Akarin gave us a wonderful soft landing into our first sightseeing day for Bangkok. He was quick to respond to any questions, arrived on time. His knowledge and passion for the history shines bright when he explains the historical context of the many sights within the grand palace. We would have been very lost without his expertise. He also gave us an excellent recommendation for lunch and ideas on continuing our day of seeing more sights.
This was a wonderful experience for us. Our guide was kind and very knowledgeable. She gave us so much great info, including a recommendation for lunch at a local food court that was fantastic. She also reminded us to take a lot of photos which we honestly would have forgotten. Highly recommended!
Tony was a gracious and caring host, teaching Julie and I lots about those hidden gems as well as those big ticket items in Bangkok - the afternoon flew by and would highly recommend Tony if you want someone who is engaging, witty and knowledgeable about the city
We are so glad we chose this tour for our first day in Bangkok. We experienced places we never would have seen ourselves. Our guide, Tuangtip, was so helpful and knowledgeable. We cannot thank her enough!
Had a great tour with Nui, friendly, professional, happy to answer any questions, wouldnt hesistate to recommend to others
Akarin has so much knowledge and experience, which he happily shares through a warm conversational style. It felt more like touring with an extremely well informed friend as we made our way through the many areas and temples. He was also extremely accommodating with my reduced physical abilities. A truly wonderful experience. Akarin knows all the best angles for great photos and expertly navigates any crowded areas. We had everything explained to us and came away not only with an understanding of the various structures, but also the history of Buddhism, history of the Thai Royal Family and also having seen areas clearly missed by the majority. Forget the rest and book with the best!
Guide was very sweet. She said a lot of things we normally wont have known. Also tasted and met a lot of locally food/people
Chef Hnoi was a great host for our trip. She paced the tour really well, and showed us some great markets and stalls. She was very friendly with the local workers and this made our interactions much more interesting. She was very knowledgeable regarding the temples we visited and we would absolutely recommend her as a great guide for your visit to Bangkok
We chose to spend our first full day in Bangkok being guided round the sites and hidden gems by Akarin (Andy) who shared his passion for the city, for Thai culture, and the history of the area. He personalised the tour by getting to know us, drawing comparisons to historical events here and abroad, and sharing lots of stories about life in Bangkok, the history of the city and the temples we visited. We absolutely loved the day - thanks so much Andy!
Beautiful, most interesting time filled with warmth and curiosity! Tuangtip was a beacon and glimmer of calmness within the craziness of this wild city.🥹 Tour around food market with explanations of every traditional food preparation, flower market alleys and hidden gens connected with spontaneous changes from closed ferry to tuktuk drive! as for someobe who cannot be too long in constant crowd and noise - that was perfect balance between knowledge, public communication, silence of temple and companion of a friend:) Thank you so much!
I had a great day with Piyaporn. She managed to show me a lot of Bankok in just a few hours while I had a layover. She personalised the tour for me and I loved everything. She explained a lot to me and introduced me to delicious food.
My husband and I were very pleased with our tour of the Grand Palace with Artty. He was so gracious and interesting. He made sure we were well taken care of and shared interesting facts about the Grand Palace and its history. I would highly recommend him as your guide. He went over and above of what we expected.
It was my teen daughter’s first time in Bangkok and this was the kind of tour that we were looking for. Not the cookie cutter kind that brings you in big tour buses and just goes thru the motions of the temples and city landmarks. Chef Hnoi took us to BKK gems from a local’s perspective, and along the way met her friends and colleagues working in the markets, handmade craft artisans, etc. She was also able to customize the tour for us according to what we wanted to see. We did not realize that we have been walking around for 3 hours because every moment was both entertaining and informative. The highlight for us was going to the local food and flower market, and visiting the subway station that had artifacts from hundreds of years back. Of course the temple visits were a must, and our timing was perfect as it was away from the busy crowds. Highly recommend Chef Hnoi with her extensive knowledge and great communication skills! Oh and did I mention that she takes great photos too?
We never would have experienced Bangkok the way we did without Chef Hnoi and only wish we would have booked her earlier in our trip! Our family of 8 booked a tour with Chef Hnoi and everyone is still talking about how much they enjoyed the experience. Chef Hnoi was very tactful in organizing the tour based on interests and language and physical capabilities of our large family. Hnoi walked us through a local shopping center where we learned about and tried local foods, and she pointed out some trustworthy vendors. She then walked us through the flower market and helped us find/try a local fruit a friend had recommended. Hnoi was always quick to point out what was unique about each of the places and items we experienced. For instance, a small museum that’s a hidden gem inside an MRT station! We then headed to a local temple. The highlight of the tour was her knowledge about the history of the places we visited, the etiquette to follow, and the important meanings of what we saw to local culture. At the end, we asked for recommendations for a local eatery and she made sure we were taken care at the restaurant before she left us. She is also an excellent photographer and sent us some beautiful pictures at the end! We loved every moment of our experience and wholesome recommended Chef Hnoi!
Polly visited so many places with us. The kids were also very happy (markets, Tuktuk-rides, temples, turtle-feeding). We also got a lot of information about the history of Thailand and temples, statues,... We also got many pictures right after the tour. Very polite any helpful. Thank you for the insight into parts of Bangkok not so well known by tourists.
It was a wonderful time with Artty . He showed us so many different things in Bangkok , it was a great pleasure to meet him. I would recommend this to tour to everyone
This was an excellent tour from a well versed local of Bangkok. Chef Hnoi took really good care of us as we navigated the streets of the city with our two kids. She made sure we escaped the heat at intervals over the course of the trip. The biggest plus for me was the food. Everything Chef Hnoi recommended was super yummy. More importantly, it was local street food that we would not have found had we gone alone. The kids loved the Boat Noodle and the ice cream we went to. Highly recommended tour.
It was my first time to Bangkok, so I booked a walking tour to hit the highlights. Araya was the perfect guide to show off some of the well known spots (like Wat Arun) but lesser visited areas as well. She has so much knowledge and I learned a lot about the temples, history and culture that made me fall in love with Thailand even more!
First of all, we arrived late to meet up with Artty, got a little bit lost on the way and he helped us. Artty was full of energy and charisma, he is the nicest person ever 😊 After arriving late and apologising to him, he said "never mind, the important thing is that you're here and now we can start" and there we went through hidden markets most tourist don't know about them. His knowledge is profound, and the way he explains is easy. He had a lot of patience with us and our questions. We visited with him The Recalling Buddha and we were amazed by the place and the history. Artty, knowing is our honeymoon, made us do a little ritual in which me and my wife will put coins in different vessels, meaning that we will be together also in next life as Buddhist believes, this was a beautiful. Artty, thanks for making our day the best in our stay in Thailand, despite the rain and everything. If you don't take Artty with you, you're missing out.
Araya was perfect. She was knowledgeable but not stiff-she was fun, flexible, protective, respectful and very easy to understand. We learned a great deal from her. I would highly recommend her. We had her for two days and I was so glad.
