We had an amazing experience on this tour! Jim was a wonderful guide who made every aspect fun. She has a great personality, wealth of knowledge, and makes you feel like family. Each portion of the tour Jim took pictures and videos of me and my girlfriend and sent them to us. Also our driver Nutty was great and provided cold waters as well as cooling towelletes! I highly recommend this tour. Thank you again Jim and Nutty!

Itinerary
The Floating Market of Damnoen Saduak is one of the most attractive floating markets in Thailand. Worldwide tourists come here to experience this 38 kilometers, man-made canal initiated by the visionary King Rama IV 150 years ago. This canal was used as “road” when there was no road in Thailand. This floating market is currently the center of fruits and vegetable trading. At this floating market, you can try a number of delicious Thai fruits and foods such as sweet mango on sticky rice, freshly-made coconut icecream, and Thai-style boat noodle. A motor boat ride is already included in your tour.
You will observe how Thai farmers produce coconut nectar and palm sugar loaf. You will see a demonstration of coconut flower cutting, pouring the nectar into a bamboo container, putting preservation woods in the container, boiling up and pasteurizing the coconut nectar into the drinkable one. You will try squeezing coconut milk from coconut shell using a traditional Thai “rabbit-teeth” wooden machine.
The whitish salt field, not a rice field, of course. A special bonus tour for our guests who join our floating and railway market tour in 2020. This sea salt is produced by Thai local wisdom. The salt farmer will rotate the sea water in different levels matching the strength of wind and sunlight. The rotation will continue until the salt becomes a “salt mountain” which are ready for cooking, skincare, and agriculture. On the Highway 35 in Samut Sakhorn province, our guide will lead you to rub the salt to your hand and take amazing photos!
The railway market in Mae Klong District is humorously called as the “life-risking” market! It is well known as one of the “Amazing-Thailand” for its chaotic moments. In normal time, seller stalls are typically attached to the railways. However, when the bell of the arriving train rings, the big turmoil will happen! Vendors will rush to detract their stalls and clear away all goods that obstructs the running train at a great speed. Once the train passes, all vendors will expand their stalls and resume selling again. Private Tour Only: You will ride a local train toward the Mae Klong station for about 30 minutes. Instead of standing on the sides of railway, you will be on the train seeing people doing selfies and recording videos. You will be waving your hands to worldwide tourists! The train ride is included for our private tour customers only (optional purchase for join tour customers).
MBK center is a must-visit shopping mall for foreign tourist. You could purchase many popular Thailand items in this huge shopping mall. If you are our join tour guests, we will drop you here after the tour. MBK center is connected to BTS National Stadium. You can ride BTS skytrain to return to your hotel conveniently. On the other hand, if you are our private tour guests, we will drop you at your hotel. Or you may request us to drop you at MBK center if you wish.

We are a family of four (13 yo and 10 yo boys) and even though it was a very early start for the boys, the experience more than made up for it. We all loved riding the train through the market and giving other travellers track side high fives through the window! The coconut farm was interesting and the boat trip around the floating market very relaxing. Lin was a very considerate and knowledgeable guide and Kevin a great driver who looked after our every need.
Lin and Kevin We're wonderful and helpful in showing and teaching us about Thai culture. They were very nice and I would recommend them if you are in Thailand for vacation
Amazing Lin and Kevin were such a blessing. They made sure every moment was amazing. They made sure we were knowledgeable and happy the whole time. God bless them both. Amazing
Simply lovely. You should take this tour because it is one of a kind experience you can have in Bangkok.
Lin and Kevin were the best hosts. We had a private tour and overall great experience. Lin was very knowledgeable. Thank you for a great day
The experience was incredible! The floating markets were very memorable and definitely a unique experience. Our tour guide Lin and Kevin were both very nice, friendly and knew their way around very well. During the car ride we would be informed and educated about the upcoming activity in a very fun and interesting way. Definitely recommend!
Lin was a great guide, shared lots of information, was friendly and enthusiastic about each new place. Thoroughly enjoyed our trip with her.
We had the most amazing day with Lin and Kevin. They were fantastic guides! Friendly, knowledgeable and so well organised. They took us to the railway market, the original floating markets, and a local coconut farm, where we got to see firsthand how coconut water and coconut sugar are made, which was such a unique and interesting experience. Everything ran smoothly, the timing was perfect, and Lin and Kevin were great at explaining the history and culture behind each stop. They made the whole day feel relaxed and enjoyable while still being super informative. Highly recommend this tour and especially Lin and Kevin if you’re looking for an authentic and memorable experience in Thailand!
I had such a great time! We booked on a Wednesday and it ended up just being me and my mum so we went everywhere! I would completely recommend.
Amazing day from start to finish! The railway market, floating market, and coconut farm were all must-see experiences, and our guide Lin made it even better, helped massively with our special needs friend. She’s knowledgeable, hilarious, and really looked after everyone. Couldn’t have asked for a better guide or experience. Definitely recommend — ask for Lin!
What a fantastic experience! The railway market, floating market, and coconut farm were all incredible stops — each offering something unique and authentic. Our guide Lin made the day unforgettable. She’s so knowledgeable about the history and culture, but also really funny and personable, which kept everyone engaged. You can tell she genuinely cares about her guests and loves what she does. It felt like traveling with a friend who just happens to know everything! Would definitely recommend this tour — and Lin in particular!
We rebooked this tour on TripAdvisor and specifically reached out to the company to make sure we’d have Lin as our guide again — we toured with her last year and she was absolutely amazing! She completely lived up to our expectations. The railway market, floating market, and coconut farm were just as fascinating as we remembered, and Lin made everything even more enjoyable with her humor, knowledge, and genuine care for everyone in the group. She went above and beyond to make sure we were all comfortable and having fun. Highly recommend — especially if you can request Lin!
We had a great experience with our guide, Poppy during our first full day in Bangkok. We opted for the private tour for a more personable experience. She was kind, upbeat, enthusiastic and made the experience easy and so much fun. It was hot and crowded, but she navigated us like a pro ans captured so many memories of us. I would definitely book again!
Lin and Kevin made the tour experience 10/10. Ask for them by name. Lin was a great guide and took wonderful photos! Kevin was a great driver. We had great day at the train and floating market.
This is a great tour which for me consisted of riding the Maeklong Railway Market train and being chauffeured on a boat through the Floating Market. My tour guide was Lin and my driver was Kevin. Both did an excellent job. I thank them both for such an exciting time in Thailand!
Had a great time with Lin, she knew the best station to catch the train and beat the crowds to the best seats, and the best spot to stand in Maeklong market when the train left. Would highly recommend!
We enjoyed the day going to a local market, the train market and the floating market. Poppy was an excellent guide with insider knowledge and a great personality.
Lin did an excellent job with this tour—she knew all the best photo ops to make sure we had great memories! She let us know the best spots for shopping and which spots were overpriced, and she got us on the train early so we had the best seats.
We had the pleasure of taking the trip to the railway market, coconut firm and the floating market. The tour guide Lin was excellent and very energetic. Explained what happens every single step and to avoid getting ripped off with prices. Booking prices was great, we were informed of the pickup time and itinerary ahead of time. We all had a great time and would highly recommend the company. Thanks
Great trip with Lin and Kevin to the railway market, coconut farm and floating market. We had an enjoyable day experiencing the Thai traditional markets
It was a good experience with a variety of activities to see the culture and way of life of the village along the canal. And enjoy
"Nina, our guide, was exceptional! We had a fantastic day exploring the various markets and immersing ourselves in the local culture. Nina truly went above and beyond to ensure we had a fun and memorable experience. The tour was well organized, and the transportation was comfortable. Highly recommend!"
Lin was an excellent guide and Kevin an incredible driver. We had an amazing time during the tour! Thanks to the Agency for this incredible time.
Lin (tour guide) and Kevin (driver) were amazing! Such a fun tour. My favorite part was the floating market. We got delicious sticky rice and mango, and other street food. We got some delicious snacks from the coconut farm and had a bit of an adrenaline rush from the train market. Overall 10/10 experience would absolutely do it again and recommend to everyone traveling to Bangkok!
We had an amazing experience on the Railway Market and Floating Market tour! Everything was perfectly organized, and we got to see so many unique and authentic parts of Thai culture. A huge thank you to our wonderful guide, Lin – she was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole day so much fun. Her explanations were clear and engaging, and she made sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying themselves. Also, a big thanks to our driver, Kevin, who drove safely and smoothly throughout the trip. We felt very well taken care of from start to finish. Highly recommended experience – thank you again, Lin and Kevin!
Our tour was very enjoyable, we had a wonderful time exploring the surrounding areas with our guide Lin & driver Kevin. They are both very professional and good fun.
My husband and I had an amazing time with Lin and Kevin. This tour had just about everything we wanted to do outside the city and are super happy with the experience.
Our first day in Bangkok couldn’t have been better, thanks to our exceptional private guide, Lin, and our wonderful driver, Kevin. From the moment they arrived early for our 6:30 am pick-up, we knew we were in good hands — the early start gave us a valuable head start over the crowds and made the most of the cooler morning weather. Definitely worth waking up early for! We would not have wanted to do this tour any later in the day. Our adventure began with a scenic train ride to the famous Maeklong Railway Market (“Train Market”). Thanks to Lin’s planning, we boarded at the very first station, securing prime seats for the one-hour journey — a real advantage over other tour groups who boarded later. We arrived at the market around 8:30 am, and as the train pulled in, we felt like celebrities, with tourists lining the tracks, phones and cameras raised to capture the train’s dramatic arrival. Lin is not just a guide — she moonlights for you as a photographer and videographer, capturing candid footage of my husband and me during the ride and at the market. She knew exactly where to stand for the best angles - these thoughtful extras truly set her apart. Our next stop was a local coconut farm, where we learnt about Thailand’s unique coconut sugar production — so different from what we had seen in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta. The final highlight was the iconic Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Instead of the slower gondola-style boats used by many tours, we cruised through the canals in a sleek long-tail boat. We passed colourful stalls brimming with souvenirs and food, and smiling vendors selling directly from their boats — hot food, fresh coconut ice cream, tropical fruits, and more. It was an unforgettable, lively scene. Throughout the day, Lin’s sunny personality, humour, and encyclopedic knowledge of Thailand and its history made every moment engaging. Her practical tips for navigating Bangkok’s public transportation were also much appreciated. What stood out even more was how warmly Lin interacted with everyone — she seemed to know every stallholder we passed, greeting them like family. Her genuine friendliness and connection to the local community made the experience even richer and more personal. Meanwhile, Kevin provided a smooth, safe journey in a spotless, air-conditioned vehicle, ensuring our travel time between stops was comfortable and relaxing. We highly recommend Lin and Kevin to anyone looking for a premium, personal, and truly memorable experience in this amazing city of Bangkok - we were back to Downtown Bangkok by 1pm!
Very well organized trip. We booked a private tour. VIP shuttle came to pick us up at the hotel. The guide Nina and the driver were extremely professional and guided us through the day at selected locations. Extremely helpful and unobtrusive but available for all our wishes. Professional and friendly.
We chose the luxury option for our tour, and it was absolutely worth it! From start to finish, everything was seamless and comfortable. Jim, was amazing—knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly accommodating. She even acted as our personal photographer throughout the day, which was such a thoughtful touch and gave us some wonderful memories to look back on. The gentleman who drove us around was fantastic too—professional, courteous, and made the ride smooth and enjoyable. Both Jim and our driver truly made the experience special. We had so much fun and couldn’t have asked for a better team to show us around. Highly recommend!
Floating Market or Fleecing Market? A Pricey Tourist Trap in Disguise We were lured by the idea of an “unmissable cultural experience.” What we got was a well-packaged daylight robbery. Let’s start with the ticket options. THB 2,000 gets you a boat ride—just the ride. Add another THB 1,000 and they throw in a temple visit (miles away and absolutely forgettable), a coconut farm (completely underwhelming), and an elephant show (the only silver lining, but still not worth the inflated price). Pay THB 4,000 and you’ll also get entry to a tiger zoo—though honestly, you’d be better off visiting these places separately. They’re nearby and likely cheaper when done à la carte. Oh, and they tried charging us an extra 5% for paying by credit card. We pushed back, and they relented. But really? The boat itself? Loud enough to drown your thoughts—noise-cancelling headphones would’ve been a blessing. The canal water is murky and foul, a definite appetite killer, which is a shame because that’s part of the “floating market charm” they sell you on. Now, about the market: nearly every kiosk sells the same mass-produced souvenirs at triple the price you’d find elsewhere. The boat operators make selective stops, mostly where their “cousins” or “aunties” are selling. Smiles all around, but don’t be fooled—the goal is to lighten your wallet, not share authentic Thai culture. We saw just a handful of actual floating vendors selling fresh produce—the rest? Cheap knockoffs and gimmicky trinkets. We even witnessed utensils being rinsed in the canal, which made us seriously question the hygiene at those picturesque waterside restaurants that so many tourists eagerly lined up for. As for the elephant show—it was heartwarming to see the young elephants perform, but disheartening to think there were no fixed showtimes. How many times a day are they made to perform? That left a sour taste. So, why did we go? Because we, too, read glowing reviews claiming this was a “must-do.” Now, we wish someone had warned us. Our little adventure cost us nearly THB 10,000—and that’s why I’m writing this. Not to rant, but to save you from repeating our mistake. If you’re still curious, here’s my advice: skip the bundled packages. Just do the THB 2,000 boat ride (if you really must) and keep your wallet firmly closed. Smile politely, snap some photos, and leave with your money intact. Would we do it again? Absolutely not. Would we warn others? You’re welcome.
Lin and Kevin make a fabulous team! Great tours. Lin knows all the people at the markets and how to get the very best photos and deals while out and about! Highly recommended!!!
Company was very accommodating as there wasn’t enough people booked and were to cancel but we asked to purchase extra tickets which they agreed and we ended up having a private tour. We had a driver and tour guide pick up and drop off from our hotel so very convenient. Tour guide was very nice, however we felt we could be told more information, it was quite limited. We were often reminded about tips and how much things cost and that we are lucky to have a private tour which felt unprofessional. We almost didn’t go to coconut farm because of later start time (but no one in the office told us that would be the consequence) but when we raised with tour guide he agreed to go there. Not sure why we wouldn’t go there as it’s very close to the market. We went there and it was nice but the farm shop is extremely expensive. I don’t mind supporting local businesses and always buy something small locally, but this almost felt like a scam (for sugar, coconut crisps and small soap we paid 1000 bhat). There’s no prices on the products so maybe if buying something ask beforehand. Overall the trip was great for accommodating private tour, but it was average on the day.
Had an excellent trip today, travelled on the train to the market, absolutely brilliant the sights and smells were amazing. Then on to the coconut farm, again excellent. Finally we visited the floating market which again was superb.
Visited a market via an amazing train journey with the brilliant tour guide Lin and taken there by driver Kevin. Lin was so knowledgeable and my aunt & I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves with Lin taking all the photos & video's. Next a coconut farm & again learnt so much & great items to purchase. Last but not least taken by long boat through the floating market. Have cameras at the ready & plenty of money. Everyone was so helpful. Cannot recommend this trip enough.
We had a nice day on tour with Lin and Kevin - Lin was great and shared a lot of great information about the markets and coconut farm. She was also super attentive and took lots of great photos and videos for us. The markets themselves felt a bit less authentic and are mostly a tourist photo opp so just be prepared since it’s a bit far from Bangkok.
Booked this late and we weren’t disappointed. Excellent communication, Adam was a great guide. It’s an early start but well worth it. From riding the train into the market, to waving and fist pumping the crowds below, to walking through the market, to the trip on the longboat to see the floating market (yes you go to 2 markets), to the lunch. It was all brilliant and well worth it. Nice touch that Adam (our guide) also took pictures and sent them round.
Read about this place and saw documentary on TV. A must see attraction when in Bangkok. Good deals to be had. Our guide "Poppy" was wonderful. Treaturous walking. Not for physically disabled.
Wonderful day trip! It was great to travel on the local train and to experience the train market. We also visited the coconut farm, which was great to experience. I would say that you are persuaded that the prices you are getting are better than elsewhere, however I later discovered that the coconut sweets, coconut sugar and body lotions etc could be obtained from other shops at cheaper prices and they were just as good. Be sure to negotiate on prices as I have learned the hard way!
The actual markets are great but for a private tour I expected a guide who could communicate with me . Although the guide was kind and did her best it made it hard for us to ask questions and communicate and be curious about different things we have never seen , it was more of a taxi who took us from point a to point b but not a tour .
Great unique and fun experience. Lot of souvenirs shops and restaurants in the area. Very crowded. Interesting to see how the vendors next to the train tracks, get ready for when the train comes.
This was an amazing tour with our tour guide Lin! She was very informative and knew exactly what she was doing. She also took a lot of great pictures of us throughout the tour. Her english is very good as well!
Lin and Kevin were great!!! They arrived on time to pick us up. Lin was a great tour guide. She was very informative and knowledgeable of the places we went to. She speaks English well and easy to understand. She explained the history and gave us a lot of details on each place. Lin and Kevin spoke are very friendly people and I highly recommend them!
Lin and Kevin were excellent! I enjoyed the light education and fun. Lin knows the shortcuts and the best places to sit and stand for the best possible pictures and poses. The transportation was clean, safe and on-time. You won't be disappointed with their tour. They are friendly and absolutely hospitable. Totally recommended.
The tour was amazing! The train ride to the railway market was fun! Got to see the countryside of Bangkok. The floating market was an experience to remember as well. The coconut farm was a highlight. Li and Kevin were great tour guide and driver. Very attentive and informative. Definitely Recommend.
Lin was an amazing tour guide and spoke really good English. She provided us with information before our tour and set expectations. She was very informative and engaging. Kevin was friendly and a great safe driver.
Lin and Kevin were great tour guide and driver! Very helpful and informative and makes sure you have the best experience! Including documenting the entire day with pictures and video opportunities! Would definitely recommend to people going to Thailand.
Lin & Kevin were so amazing! Lin was very educational and engaged with the whole group. She captured good pictures and videos the whole excursion and helped us get around good. Thank you!
We did the private tour option as our hotel was slightly outside the main pickup zone and it was totally worth it. Poppy was an incredible, caring guide and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience! The tour offers a lot of diversity and we had a blast riding the train into the railway market and boating through the floating market.
