Itinerary
We'll visit Thailand’s most famous floating market: Damnoen Saduak. Upon arrival, you'll board a traditional long-tail boat for a ride through the canals, offering a glimpse into life along the waterways. The Damnoen Saduak canal was commissioned in 1866 by King Rama IV to connect the Mae Klong and Tha Chin rivers and improve water transport between the Ratchaburi and Samut Sakhon provinces. Photographs of this colorful and bustling market are among the most widely featured in travel brochures about Thailand. While the market today caters largely to tourists, it still offers an unforgettable experience with its lively atmosphere, boats, and canal scenes. Please note that the total time spent on this excursion includes the drive from Bangkok, which takes approx. 1,5 hours each way, depending on traffic. Note: Damnoen Saduak is undeniably touristy these days, and while it may not feel fully authentic anymore, it remains one of the best places to experience a floating market.
Our next stop will be the amazing Mae Klong Railway Market, locally known as Talat Rom Hoop ('Market Umbrella Close'). Imagine a train going straight through a public market! The Mae Klong Railway Market has been around since 1905. Fishing was (and still is) one of the main livelihoods of the people who lived here, and the market was another way in which to sell their goods. Officials decided to build a railway in order to better deliver these goods to other provinces. The market remained, however, despite the new tracks that cut through it. We’ll stroll over the market and see the train arrive or depart before going back to Bangkok. Total time to spend here is including traveling time between Damnoen Saduak and Maeklong Railway Market and from Maeklong Railway Market back to Bangkok (approx. 1,5 hrs - depending on traffic situation).
Wat Bang Kung is famous for its small chapel that is completely enclosed within the roots of a banyan tree called Bot Prok Po. It is almost like the tree itself is the pillars of the temple and that without the roots the chapel would fall down. You can also go inside to pay respect to the Buddha image. The temple grounds once doubled as a naval fort, the site of a fierce 18th century battle between Siam and invaders from Burma. Today, the temple grounds is also a memorial to warrior heroism.

Katy is a reallly sweet guide and patient to explain everything. We loved our experience with her and strongly recommend it.
It was an amazing experience and Kitty was a great and kind guide.
Very nice! We loved our guide Kitty!
Very good! A good experience here in Bangkok!
Guide Kitty was so good, positive and the experience was so fun.
We had an amazing day exploring the Floating Market and Railway Market! Our tour guide, Kitty, was absolutely fantastic. She was friendly, knowledgeable and made the whole experience fun and enjoyable. Everything was well organised, and we learned so much about the local culture. Highly recommend this tour, especially with Kitty as your guide!
Kitty was very good guided during the travel time.
Kitty was a great tour guide. The train stop is so much fun! Be prepared for speed shopping!
Surin is the best guide ever! Very atencious!! She did an excelent job showing us everything about the markets and temples. I recommend strongly coming with her.
Surin was amazing and very gentil!! Made your visit special!
I loved the place and the experience—I really enjoyed it, and I highly recommend it.
Joyce is a adorable guide! I recomend!
Mr Paul and Mr Primm were fabulous. Mr Primm ensures a smooth ride and Mr Paul was engaging, informative and funny. We got to the train market with 20 minutes to spare for the train the arrive so we had a chance to take pictures and begin shopping. Mr Paul places us perfectly so that we could marvel at how the vendors moved their wares and we were so close our elbows could touch the train. At the floating market Mr Paul visited his favorite vendors but stopped at each vendor that we showed interest. He made sure that we had a “river view” while we ate. The return directly to our hotel was the perfect ending to a great day Highly recommend this tour and our guides.
Great day, and the guide was so funny. He made the day really fun!!
Pam was the best tour guide. Very attentive and answered all our questions.
Such a great experience from start to finish! The floating market and railway market were both amazing and definitely worth visiting. Wann was the best guide — super friendly, knowledgeable, and made everything easy and enjoyable for us. She knew exactly how to guide us and made the whole experience even better. We had an amazing time and would definitely recommend this tour!
Great experience! The tour guide Wann was excellent!
Lovely guide, gave me a really good experience and I would 10/10 recommend!
Guide’s conduct was unprofessional, itinerary was not followed, time at the attractions was cut short while unnecessary stops were added,. I did not receive the tour experience that was advertised and purchased.
Tour was fun... but we went on the 10:15am tour and missed most of the floating market. Apparently the sellers come really early in the morning and once the sell out, they leave. So not much to see or shopping to be had. The boat ride itself was fun and we had really yummy soup noodles and mango sticky rice on the boat. The train market was cool. Touristy but cool to see and great souvenir shopping with good prices. I would definitely recommend but have the right explanations.
I truly overall enjoyed this tour. Our tour guide Wan set the warm tone with her initial greeting and explained in detail what all we would see and not be able to see. Seeing the train in the market and then shopping afterwards was truly a once in lifetime experience. Wan will give you some time before departing to shop which we appreciated. While the 7am option was too early for me, I would say that to get the true floating market experience you need to go earlier. I would also recommend that he operator considers changing the second time option to 8:30/9am the latest vs 10:15am so that you are truly able to have a better experience at the floating market. We did not get to do much shopping as most of the shops were closed but we were able to find some mango sticky rice and rice noodles which were both delicious. Overall, 10/10 would recommend even with the few tweaks that I mentioned.
Miss Wan is very knowledgeable and friendly. She anticipated our needs and gave us a good tour
Tgis tour was hands down the best tour I have been on. Everything we visited, the food we ate, the sights we saw were all amazing. Wan is an incredible guide, knowledgeable, kind, helpful...so sweet. She taught us so much, shared so many good tips with us, and fed us delicious local food. If I get the chance to come back and do the tour again I hope I will have the chance to have Wan as my guide again. I would and will recommend this tour to everyone as it is an incredible value for a memorable travel day.
This is defiantly worth going on. You get to try local fresh food in the markets with a lovely boat trip at the end around the floating markets. We got the same tour guide (Wann) from the previous trip, again she was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. She has experienced how everything has changed over the years which is very interesting. Thank you Wann for making it a memorable trip !!
Lovely guide - good communication about pick up. Very friendly guide who has excellent recommendations for boat food! Thank you guide Wann !
Informative, pleasant and professional
We had an amazing experience with this tour. We were lucky enough that it was a private tour. Tong, the guide, was the nicest, sweet, funny and clever guide I have ever had. He even took us to places that were not part of the tour officially. We were in an AC vehicle and they were giving us cold water and coca cola all the time. It was such an easy fun and comfortable experience. Even the dropp off they offered us to chose specific point that was comfortable for us. I cannot thank them enough for the trip. I will always recommend this place to everyone who comes to Bangkok. So worthy!
Paul and Pyut are excellent tour guides. Very knowledgeable. Awesome experience. I would recommend them. Paul is funny and very patient with us. Its an unforgettable experience. We are very happy. Sabai sabai!
Very good and entertaining , very mindful of what are we experiencing, good and postive attitude.
Paul was a happy man. Very accomodating. Very knowledgeable. One reason why we enjoy our trip is because of the tour guide
Great experience. Our family of four, two kids, two parents, loved it, especially the noodle soup at the floating market. Wan was an excellent guide.
We had an amazing experience with our tour guide, Wam! She explained everything thoroughly, was incredibly kind and sweet, and truly made our experience unforgettable. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting, and we would absolutely love to come back again!
Great tour and guide! Great floating market and unique railway tour!
We really enjoyed the tour, but especially our guide, "Coconut." She was very helpful, explained everything very well, accompanied us attentively, took many amazing photos, and is a sweetheart. The tour was definitely worth it because of her company that day. We highly recommend her!
We had the BEST tour guide ever! Her name is Kitty, like Hello Kitty. She treated us so well and went above and beyond so we could have a great time. She made sure my family and I took all the pictures we wanted and guided us safely through every place we visited. Kitty deserves an award honestly. I’m not sure if she’ll be able to read my review but if she happens to read it, I want to say thank you so much Kitty for making sure I took the picture I really really wanted to take back in November 2025 🥹🙏🏽 I recommend this tour 100% and would do it again if I go back to Thailand in the future!
This was a visit to the floating market and railway market. We were very lucky that there were only the two of us on trip, so we had the exclusive services of Paul, our guide and Maue our lady driver. Apologies if I got the spelling wrong. I visited the floating market 40 years ago when it was an actual working market and was surprised to see that now it's purely a tourist attraction and the only things on sale were souvenirs. Having said that, I suppose it's great that they managed to preserve it in some form and it's very pleasant to take a boat trip through the market stores which last time wasn't really possible. Paul was a brilliant guide. He was very cheerful, very funny, full of energy and we exchanged some interesting stories with him. The driving was also perfect. We did get to see a couple of other things which was very nice, a tree which had grown into a 400-year-old monastery building covering it with roots and branches. Also a seafood fish market. The train thing was okay but much like others I have seen in Hanoi. Expensive restaurants on the side of the tracks while you wait for a train to come past. Only downside is it's a bit of a long trek to and from, about an hour and a half each way but the car was very comfortable and air-conditioned
The pre-tour conversation, the pickup, and the excursion were all perfectly organized. The guide was very knowledgeable, knew the best spots for impressive photos, and provided insightful explanations throughout. It was a wonderful experience, and I’m happy to recommend both the tour and the tour operator.
It was a little hard to find the location to meet but our guide was very good and guided us to the meeting place . Our guide explained everything to us and was very good . I would recommend this company to anyone who wants to travel around Bangkok. Both our guide and driver was very friendly
The floating market was a fun experience overall and while touristy, still recommended. However, my biggest criticism was the local tour operator really diminished the experience. To me, the whole experience was very rushed, and while I appreciated visiting a couple of sites outside of Bangkok, we did not have enough time to explore the market; I felt rushed the entire time and really could have used some time to lazily browse or get something to eat. Instead I was put on a strict clock to return within 40 minutes to return to Bangkok. Furthermore, our tour guide did not really offer much in the way of history or culture, in fact he slept in the car on the way back to Bangkok. In the end it felt more like transportation to some sites with a compressed timeline. I would likely rent a car and make my own trip to the markets outside of Bangkok on my next trip.
Excellent trip with Nicky and our driver (cannot remember his name). We saw some absolutely beautiful sites and both made sure we were well taken care of in the heat. This is definitely a trip worth taking
Our guide admitted, the floating markets have been only used by tourists for the last couple decades. This is an exercise in bringing tourists to a market to just buy stuff. The train that causes hawkers to move their awnings down is only a slightly better gimmick. Spend more time visiting temples, cooking class or something else.
Great trip with added stop at a temple. One had excellent local knowledge and gave lots of information throughout the morning
Amazing experience, a must do in Thailand
She was very knowledgeable , told us a a lot of history about the places we visited and Thailand on the whole.
Wonderful time. Guide was very interesting and informative. Loved both floating and railway markets.
Was a good trip well organized everything on time
It was our first tour when we arrived in Bangkok and it was really nice. They picked us up in our hotel right on scheduled time. Our tour guide Wuan was very gentle and told us a lot about Thai history. The floating and train markets were so nice and chaotic! We loved it :)
Paul was our enthusiastic guide and ‘PT’ our driver. We had a great day. The floating market was excellent. We got to see a 400 year temple and the train station market. The vehicle had good air conditioning and was comfortable. We did have trouble finding the office/meeting point and so did the other couple on this tour. We did stop at the nearby Police Station and they kindly escorted us to the right location. Paul and PT were great!
Excellent tour to Railway & Floating Market, also temple trip & visit to coconut plantation included!
