The sites are well worth seeing but they require a good guide who can explain the history and tell what happened there. Our guide’s English wasn’t great which really impacted the experience

The temples are very interesting, as is the stories and history that go with them. Our driver was great - very careful and accommodating. Our guide Pet was a lovely person but no sense of personal space. I had to keep moving away as she would always stand too close. It was a “dance” we did all day. Her English was not always easy to understand which made the day more difficult and a bit frustrating. I’m very glad we went as we wouldn’t have seen or learn about Siam history however I’m not sure I would recommend it to my friends .
Lots of wonderful information Our guide had terrific command of English Our driver was excellent Would recommend to do this tour
Very knowledgeable guide who spent the day with us. The car was clean and driver was attentive. The lunch restaurant was quality. We chose this private tour so we could go at our own pace and it was worth it.
Beautiful place to visit and alot quieter than the more modern Temples ❤️ our tour guide was fantastic
Patchara Petch was amazing, full of information and energy. There wasn’t a question she didn’t answer straight away and we knew more about Bangkok in the first hour than from any previous source We did all the advertised temples and one extra one, we had a luxury minibus and in the middle of the day, an incredible lunch at a Michelin listed restaurant. Also lots of extra activities in between. Very good trip
Our guide was very friendly and shared a lot of history and cultural information about Thailand and its kings We enjoyed the experience and would recommend to others
My dad and I are traveling through southeast Asia and only had a few days in Bangkok (Krung Thep in thai) and this was absolutely worth it. We are both history lovers and seeing such large cultural grounds was truly incredible. With this tour you get to visit a few different areas of Ayutthaya and includes a lunch (which was delicious). I can't state how nice it was to have a car take us from each place to the next as everywhere was pretty far apart (and 1 hr outside of Krung Thep). Each place had tourists but there weren't crowds of them and it was easy to get pictures with no one in sight. Best of all (besides the ruins and such) was our tour guide. I don't know how to spell her name but she was very friendly, knew very good English and answered every question we had. I was worried that this tour would not be worth a full day but I can guarantee it was 100%
What a great way to see Ayutthaya and Bang Pa-In Summer Palace on private tour. It was very hot so it was nice to able to see the temples at our own pace and not have to wait around for other people as you would with a larger group tour. We were well taken care of by Noi, our tour guide. She was very knowledgeable, provided details about the history of Thailand and answered all of our questions. Lunch was at a Michelin star restaurant which was very tasty. The tour was well organized and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
We recommend it to anyone who wants to get to know the thailand history, culture and religion. The guide told great stories and answered all questions. Calm atmosphere and a good car and driver, it was a great day!
Must see experience if you are the Bangkok area. It gives you a deeper look at history and culture of Thailand going back a thousand years. Not just for history buffs, this tour also provides opportunity to see beautiful architecture and should be a delight for photographers.
We went on 2 tours with Jill in January, both were excellent. We did the canals tour, which took you outside Bangkok and on the quiet waterways by a variety of boats and public transport, a great way to escape the hustle and bustle of Bangkok, it is actually longer than the billed half day, so is good value for money. We also visited Ayutthaya and bang pa in on a second day, a great way to see the ancient capital and it's ruins. Jill was an excellent and informative guide, thank you
Our guide arrived promptly to collect us from hotel. Spoke English well and very informative. She answered all our questions. The pace to view the temples was good. Lunch provided at local thai restaurant and good menu choices. We enjoyed the mango sticky rice pudding. Our driver was very safe and attentive. Bottled water available on hot day. The mini bus was clean and comfortable. Well air conditioned. Would recommend.
The sites are impressive and moving. Bring a hat. We were lucky and it was only in the mid 80s and there was a breeze.
Very nice trip. We've seen a lot of beautifull places and learned a lot about Thailand history and culture from our very knowlegible guide Till. Strongly reccomend.
y trip to Ayutthaya was enjoyable, and the guide did a decent job overall. They were knowledgeable about the main historical sites, such as the ancient temples and ruins, and provided some interesting facts during the tour. It was nice to learn about the history and culture of the area. However, the tour felt a bit rushed at times, and I would have appreciated more time to explore certain spots at a more relaxed pace. The guide could have been a bit more engaging or enthusiastic, as it felt like they were just going through the motions in some parts of the tour. That said, they were friendly and professional, and everything was well-organized. They made sure we stayed on schedule and answered questions when asked. Overall, it was a good experience, but there’s room for improvement in making the tour feel more personalized and exciting
Great excursion exploring temples and summer palace. Food was fabulous. Great photo opportunities. Bea my guide was amazing - super knowledgeable and takes great photographs too.
A genuinely great day — Jill was very informative, we were able to visit key sights in Ayutthaya, and it was overall a really lovely tour that included a nice lunch at a local restaurant. Would recommend!
Our tour guide Lucky is very good! She has great knowledge and always found the best photo spots! We recommend her tours!
The worst tour we’ve ever been on. Our tour guide clearly didn’t care whether we were enjoying ourselves. Her vocabulary seemed to consist of no more than 100 words, which she repeated for hours on end. To make matters worse, she wore a face mask that covered her face from below the eyes to under her chin, and large sunglasses that made the entire experience feel bizarre. She was completely incapable of walking and talking at the same time. We frequently stopped in the middle of nowhere to listen to the same 100 words, often standing in +40°C heat with no shade. She made no effort to find shade or to walk and talk simultaneously, which made the tour physically exhausting. The experience was boring, non-educational, and frustratingly slow. It’s taken me more than six months to process this and write a review, but I can confidently say this was the worst tour my spouse and I’ve ever attended.
Jill showed her love of Thailand and its history throughout our tour. We enjoyed our day from beginning to end.
Amazing and in-depth history lesson of the Ayutthaya, do it as a private tour, it’s way better. Highly recommended!
Amazing experience!!! One of the best tours I’ve ever taken. The highlight of this tour was Wat Yai Chaimongkhon (historic Ayutthaya). Wat Mahathat was also amazing, with the Buddha’s head covered by tree roots. The tour guide was very engaging.
Great guide! It was wonderful to learn more about Thai history. The summer palace was beautiful and we enjoyed the rest of it as well.
I went on this tour with my husband in November, and I highly recommend it. We were picked up from our hotel in the morning-- our guide, Lucky, was waiting in the lobby. We had a big van to ourselves, so the journey out to Ayutthaya was very comfortable. Lucky was a really great guide. I highly recommend her. She spoke English really well and was very knowledgeable about all the sites we visited. She also gave us a lot of insight into Thai society, culture, history, and spoke in depth with us on many topics that interested us, beyond just the attractions we were seeing. We really felt like we learned so much about Thailand from her. Lucky would also identify good photo spots and take pictures for us, which I really appreciated. Our driver (unfortunately, I don't remember his name), was super friendly and an excellent driver. He was always quick to rush out to open the door for us and always had ice cold bottles of water ready for us when we got back into the van. As for the attractions themselves, we went to every place listed on the tour, and felt like we had an adequate amount of time to enjoy it all. The tour included a lunch and we were able to choose whatever we wanted on the menu offered. We thought the food was quite good. Definitely a worthwhile day trip from Bangkok, especially if you are interested in ruins, and if you have a day to spare. I would totally choose the private tour again!
Seeing the reclining Buddha being renovated and the huge number of Buddha's and shrines that there used to be. The Summer Palace was beautiful.
Such a beautiful and nice place. Good for soul-searching and be at peace. I visited this place in March of 2024 with my IMG Community. I took beautiful photos and one of Thailand's must see scenic spots. I will surely visit again and will recommend this place to friends and families visiting Thailand.
Both the Summer Palace and what remains of Ayuthayya are definitely worth visiting. Our elderly guide was a bit disappointing however. Not completely fluent in English, spoke in a low tone and had the disconcerting tendency of prodding one while speaking which was disconcerting. Lunch was OK. The taxi driver "Golf" however was very good.
Amazingly well done, great tours, Vivo Rudy was an excellent tour guide, very patient, knowledgeable, very interesting ideas. Tour couch was well set up and clean. He greatly helped me explain some of the culture of Thailand.
Wonderful day! Our guide was absolutely lovely and so knowledgeable about the history of Thailand, Buddhism, and much more! We loved every part of it!
Very experienced and knowledgeable tour guide. We would definitely be happy to go with Tai on another tour. Good transport with safe driver.
Our tour guide was thorough and provided a wealth of information on all five places that we visited. A very good value for what we paid. Highly recommended.
Fantastic experience. Luch was a nice buffet with a lot of choices. Our guide was very knowledagable.
The day had been incredible, the tour guide walked me theough the main attractions of Ayutthaya giving me context on the architecutal items and the history of the region. The driver was polite, kind and efficient. I really liked the day, the tour and the Ayutthaya region. Highly recommended.
Jill picked us promptly at 9am. It’s a private tour just your party and the van accommodates up to 9. Jill was very informative and she is proof of the country’s rich culture. This tour is worth taking because the temples are far and she accompanies you throughout the tour. Other companies are self guided. This company does everything it says in the itinerary. Highly recommend this company.
Beautiful places, but not the kind of tour we had hoped for. We were not able to go at our own pace and spent much time just listening in the hot sun. Might have preferred just a taxi driver.
Very professional they pick us ip sharply at the agreed time. Grat van spacious and comfortable. Guide with good english and very prepared. They brought us to all places we requested to go. Lunch in a suggested fine place. You can trust jackie!!!
Tour ok. But way to expensive. Can be done cheaper alone. Wanted to write more but tripadvisor algorithms does not allow. ......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
Everything was amazing! The guide beyond! they room care of every single detail, even the food was to die for!
I rebooked a second tour with this company because of the attention to detail we experienced in the first. We were fortunate enough to get the same guide “Miss Kitty” who continued to impress us with her detailed knowledge and funny antidotes about the culture. We were moved by the Thai Buddhist philosophies and the History of Kong Rama 1 2 and 3(5th in dynasty). We also loved and were privileged to meet the twin baby elephants recently born. We fed cucumbers and sugar cane to the mommy elephant and she kept honking at me to feed her more. Adorable. This tour will give you far better authentic access to the things you probably don’t even know you need to see. Book these guys worth every penny.
Had a great time exploring the ruins at Bang Pa In and Attuhaya. Our guide was excellent and very knowledgeable and kept us a good pace between walking around, and take a break either in the car or have a snack to cool off. It was a great day!
Our guide “A” was incredible. He gave the perfect amount of historical information and guided us through such amazing sites. He also gave us time to explore on our own as well. This was the best day and A and our driver ensured we were well taken care of, got great photos, tried authentic food, and learned and saw such wonderful parts of Thailand.
The palace and the temples were amazing to take a stroll around, felt at peace and spiritually fulfilling.
I had a great time taking this day tour! The temples and palaces were beautiful and the history was amazing. It’s the perfect length for a day trip and leaves you time in the evening to do other things or relax after a lot of walking. It’s a trip I would definitely take again if I return to Thailand!
I had a wonderful day with my guide, Jil (hope I spelled it right), in Ayutthaya. She is professional and warm, and she shared many Thai traditions and interesting anecdotes about every place we visited. We also had great local food for lunch.
My partner and I wanted to see the ancient Thai capital city of Ayutthaya with some historical context, and this tour was the perfect way to do it. Our guide, Phet (aka “Miss Diamond”), and our driver, Mr. Mana, were exceptionally accommodating. Phet is remarkably knowledgeable about the city’s history and connection with the modern capital. She was able to answer all of our questions and gave us plenty of opportunities to stop for photos. We were even treated to an extravagant lunch at the nicest hotel in Ayutthaya. Definitely recommended if you’re interested in gaining a deeper understanding of the once-great kingdom that is today only a scattering of ruins.
An excellent way to learn a bit about the history of Thailand and Siam and the first capital city. The tour was excellent with a knowledgeable tour guide and fantastic driver.
Jill was a fantastic guide sharing so much insight into Thai history and culture! She was so accommodating with the sweltering 106 degree heat. Do not miss this adventure!
After an average tour the previous day with a different guide and company, Jill, our guide for this tour was excellent. She provided us with much more of the background information I had wanted. Additionally she gave excellent descriptions on the tours themselves. I definitely felt by the end that I knew the story of these sites. The vans A/C was good but not great and given the hot weather this mattered but we managed ok. Overall a great day.
Jill is a knowledgeable enthusiastic guide, ensuring a good, enriching experience. We enjoyed our day very much.
