Today’s hike in the Khao Yai national park was full of surprises. We thought it would just be a jungle trek, but we got to experience incredible bio-diversity. Besides the exciting jungle exploring, we built a log bridge, enjoyed stunning scenery that looked like a european canvas, and met a magnificent waterfall. The weather was perfect today, but the best part was our guide, Nok. She helped us tremendously the whole time. I accidentally forgot my wallet today, and Nok even paid for some snacks for us. She looked after my son so well throughout the trip, stayed at the back to keep an eye on him and removed leeches from him. My son and I were both enjoying today’s amazing journey!

Itinerary
UNESCO World Heritage Site Khao Yai National Park is one of the oldest national parks in the country, where you’ll find all kinds of animals – from mammals and reptiles to birds and insects – in the area.
This scenic nature trail showcases diverse forest types, including mature dry forest, secondary forest, and grasslands. Tall banyan and java plum trees offer shade and attract wildlife, creating a natural "restaurant for wildlife." Visitors may encounter signs of elephants and gaur, spot hornbills nesting, or gibbons swinging through the canopy. The trail ends at Nong Phak Chi Observation Tower, providing excellent wildlife viewing opportunities.
Haew Suwat Waterfall (Pak Chong) is one of the park's most picturesque bodies of water, featuring cool cascades and lush scenery.
Visit Lamtakong Campsite near Haew Suwat Waterfall and see deer wandering the grounds year-round—perfect for quick photos in nature.
Explore Haew Narok Waterfall, the tallest in Khao Yai. Take in sweeping jungle views after a scenic hike to this dramatic, multi-tiered cascade.
Transportation time between the different points of interest. Drop off at MBK Center for Small Group Tour.

I had a fantastic day at Khao Yai National Park with our guide, Pinporn (“Angie”). She was warm, thoughtful and incredibly knowledgeable, and really made the day special. We were lucky enough to see gibbons, monkeys and deer, as well as lots of other jungle critters including butterflies, dragonflies, frogs, snakes and lizards. Angie helped make the wildlife spotting even more interesting by explaining what we were seeing. What we especially appreciated was how she tailored the information she shared to our interests. She told us so much about the park, its wildlife, plants and landscape, and was always happy to answer our questions. There had been very heavy rain the night before, which meant one of the planned trails were flooded, but Angie adapted everything smoothly and still made sure we had a great day. As we were visiting during the rainy season, she also took care to make sure we were properly protected against leeches before setting out. She was very considerate about our comfort and made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. On the way back to Bangkok, Angie gave me a fascinating insight into the history of modern Thailand as well, which was a real bonus. Angie was a wonderful guide: friendly, flexible, knowledgeable and genuinely interested in making sure the group had the best possible experience. If you only have one day to get out of Bangkok and see some of the natural beauty of Thailand, I would highly recommend a day with Angie!
The trek through the jungle was wild and the waterfalls beautiful; the experience is definitely worth its time. The drive there and back takes some time, so maybe it’s better to consider a 2 day trip there. Despite this, me and my friends had much fun, and our guide Angie was the one to guarantee it!
Great tour guide. Was very informative and fun. We did a lot of walking and vertical hiking which I really enjoyed. Your guide had no problem and you could tell she does it a lot. 10/10 full day trip
Guide Angie was absolutely wonderful! She was knowledgeable about the area and had many facts to share about Thailand. She was accommodating to our family and consistently asked for our input. We saw gibbons, monkeys, deer, kimono dragons, and Chinese water dragons. Overall, a great experience.
This was a fun trip. You spend quite some time in the bus from Bangkok, but it's worth it. Angie was a great guide, she spoke really good English, was funny and knowledgeable. If you want a one day escape from the city, I can recommend this trip to you.
very well organized, always updated by whatsapp
We had an amazing time on this tour! Our tour guide, Phan, was so kind and was very eager to answer all of our questions and make sure we were all happy. She and the park ranger made sure to point out the many different animals and animal noises. While we didn't see a hornbill, we did see an elephant on the side of the road and some monkeys and deer! Highly recommend.
We toured with Phan and had a fantastic day! She was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and overall made the experience great. Would highly recommend!
We had a wonderful time with Phan! She and the park ranger were so kind to us and eager to point out the different animals, animal noises, and waterfalls. Though we were only able to hear a hornbill, we were able to see an elephant from the side of the road! She also was so cute and bought us local curry puffs to try, which was delicious. Highly recommend!
It was nice to get away from Bangkok to explore the forest nearby. The locations are 2 waterfalls, a camping ground and a hike through the forest. The hiking was fun but the guide was moving very fast and her english was hard to understand at times. I also feel that the price is a little high given that lunch was not included. We saw deer, monkeys and various insects along the trail. Overall a good day out.
Cherry was an excellent guide and we had a great day out, with lots of animals to be seen - deer, monkeys, monitor lizards, so many butterflies - but the highlight was seeing a wild elephant. It truly was a magical experience
A great day. Sadly no elephants but a really enjoyable day. Ann our guide was great and knowledgeable about the wildlife
Thanks Jack!!!! A beautiful day with an excellent guide!!!😊 We love trekking tour...it's so amazing
Trek was fantastic! Very well-organised. There were deers, monkeys, and 2 fantastic waterfalls. Worth every penny of it!
Tour guide (Cherry) was friendly but understanding her was a chore. The van driver had an aggressive and confrontational personality. He yelled at me for putting a recyclable glass water bottle in the trash. I didn't know he was saving the bottles. The park was okay in parts.... waterfall area is scenic. It's hit or miss whether you will see wildlife on the guided hike. If you take the tour and have any difficulty with guide or driver do not hesitate to report it.
It was fun with a fun group. I wanted to see the jungle and some other nature and indeed i did. It is a long drive but worth it
I had an amazing experience exploring Khao Yai National Park with Angie. From the start, she was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, making the whole journey both fun and insightful. I could truly immerse myself in the forest and enjoy the waterfalls and scenery without worry. Driver of the tour drove safely too. Highly recommend!
Benny is a wonderful guide!! He knows his way around, and khao yai is a beautiful place, highly recommended!! Covered a lot of places, well organised.
Tour was great! The guide was very friendly and kept us on schedule all day (Hotel pick up was on time on the dot). I learned a lot about the jungle and saw many amazing sights. The water falls, plants, fruited, insects and animals were all really cool and the guides were very diligent in pointing them out and explaining about them. Would definitely recommend this tour and tour guide to anyone!
This was such an amazing experience and one I would highly recommend to anyone in Bangkok! It was such a good trip and our guide Angie was so kind and knowledgeable. She gave us so much detail about our day and what to expect, making sure everyone was happy and having a good time. We don’t see any elephants so if you have time I would opt for the overnight option
I recently went to Khao Yai nationalpark and it was amazing. The tour included a park ranger as well and he guides us really well in and out the park. the itinerary was perfectly paced, allowing enough time to explore the trail and the waterfall. its ideal to escape from the city and experience the nature.
We had a great day with our guide Jack. He was very kind, helpfull and very funny. He also knew a lot about the thing we visited. I would recommend him!!
Very good trip and organisation by the operators and will certainly recommend to families and friends. Special mention for the good services organised by the guide Chayada
The views were good and Jack was the perfect guide, punctual on the pick up time and helpful during all day tour. Too many hours in the van though
The tour guide was from another company, so the pick-up time from Viator was different from what the tour guide told us in the morning that day. For the tour guide, he didn't tell me anything change even when I texted him on the previous day (But thanks he's still waiting for us). He is not a professional guide for nature. The questions can't be answered and only very general scenes would be described. It is more like to walk with your grandpa. In addition, the trail (no.3) is very easy, so if you can find people share the car with you, NO NEED to come with this trip.
My husband, son, and I loved our trip with Jack. He was extremely informative and helpful. We had a lot of fun. Of course Jack couldn't guarantee if we'd see animals, but we did. We saw macque monkeys and deer. It was our only chance to get to a national park and we were really happy to have this experience. Jack made it the best it could be--perfect for our last day in Thailand.
Such a great spot for votes, waterfalls, birds, and all wildlife. Well worth the visit! Jeerawat was a great, fun, and all round beast; couldn't have wished for a better guide.
We had jeerawat as a guide who is amazing , awesome experience, saw monkeys, deer and many other animals. Great views and fun vibes. Would recommend.
This was a great trip hike was difficult but that was what I was looking for. It was wonderful to get out in nature and see the monkeys and experience the forest
Amazing experience, nice hiking in the rainforest. We had the opportunity to see many animals while walking. Ohm,our guide was a lovely person
Mr. Ekachai Rodcharoenphant is a super nice and passionate guide. He truly shared his experience with us. We spent a nice day with him 🥰🥰🥰
It was a pleasure to spend such a wonderful time close to the nature in the National Park with a great, experienced guide Pinporn- Angie. Angie is full of passion and enthusiasm, she spread the energy and good vibes, awesome sense of humor and music taste makes the journey fun and full of laughs. She is a great photographer as well! Highly recommend!
Beautiful nature and scenery. Saw a lot of monkeys, butterflies and some spiders. We took the hike tour, it was quite long for my 10 year old. Be careful with the leeches.
Such an amazing day with great views and a lovely mix of solo travellers. Our guide was so knowledgable and friendly and the drive to and from Bangkok was very comfortable. Definitely recommend!
In this tour you will take a hike through the tropic forest alongside bamboo bushes and wooden bridges, see waterfalls and drive through the national park. Our guide Angie/Pinporn was entertaining, answered all out questions about the local culture and took pretty pictures for us. Tour needs a minimum of fitness, suitable shoes, water and maybe mosquito spray. Keep in mind that this is a wilderness trail. Street food can be had for lunch from the locals.
The tour overall was nice, I liked the Khao Yao and the driver was friendly. However, the tour guide didn’t provide too much interesting information. She took some photos too, and she just wanted to send them afterwards in exchange for a 5star rewiew! That behavior itself is very questionable. I felt so pressured, the „example review“ she send me and that I „could use as an example“ was a pure hymn of praise and was not how I experienced her as a guide. She got very snappish when I said I will do that after my holidays and didn’t send me the photos of me(!!) first. I believe reviews are a feedback and a possibility to improvement. I rely on reviews when I book future tours and I want them to be reliable. She was clearly not interested in getting feedback as a guide, („just good for her career“) and even accused me of treating her badly, which was absolutely not true! Telling me when, what and how many stars I should give is highly unprofessional and adds an unpleasant note to the tour.
There is a reason why they have so many bad reviews. I knew Trip Guru was probably quite crap before i bought the tickets but I was alone and the itinerary, date, and timing was the only one suitable for my schedule. I was hopeful and still very disappointed about the bad reviews being true. 1) The lady i talked to, lied. She hoaxed me into booking this trip by telling me there will be a chance to swim. There was no chance to swim at all as the water is just not suitable and do not swim signs everywhere. 2) First walk to the waterfall was so short and nothing special at all, you literally arrive at the waterfall then you'd have to go back to the car. 3) The car ride from the 1st waterfall to the 2nd waterfall was quite long and boring. 4) Spent more time in the car instead of outdoors. Spent 6-7 hours in the car, only spent a maximum of 3 hours walking. 5)Our guide was Angie and she was trying to cheat time by skipping sites. We were supposed to stop at a beautiful coffee shop but she skipped it because she has decided it is too expensive and we wouldn't need to go there so we could leave the park at 3pm (we were supposed to end at 430/5 pm). I insisted and she took us there reluctantly at the end which was very unprofessional. In the end, the cafe was amazing and the scenery was really nice and we nearly missed that. 6) There were really nice interesting spots on the way and animals to see but she did not give us a single chance to take pictures or take a look. 7)Angie didn't really give us that much background of the park nor the animals in there. All in all, there is a reason TripGuru gets a lot of bad reviews, if you don't want to spend more time in the car in the traffic than outdoors or in town doing things, DO NOT GO. You will have a way better time just spending at least 1 night in the Khao Yai or the neighborhood around to fully experience country life. It is too far as a day trip, and TripGuru's route does not give you enough exposure of what the park really is like.
This is really far out from the center of Bangkok all for very little scenery. There were two waterfalls that were about 30 minutes of walking up/down stairs which were wonderful. However, the hike was long, rushed with little rest and nothing notable to see. The guide was not very informative. I don’t believe this is worth the price.
There wasnt much time to relax and absorb the beauty of the park. It felt quite rushed. Also the hike was described as a easy straight path. Which it wasnt. There werre many trees in the way or having to crowl under bamboo. It was a little dangerous. Wish there was more time to just relax and slow down.
Dishonest. Company cut my tour in half, didn’t tell me ahead of time, brought me 2 1/2 hrs out of town and told me on the bus that I can choose to go or turn back, with absolutely no apologies, be careful the tour you choose, they are not all honest
Since it was the rainy season, the waterfall was muddy, but it was powerful and impressive with its increased force. A two-hour trek is a jungle exploration. He walks desperately, constantly checking his feet and the area above him, so he has no time to look around. Those with low stamina should be careful. Also, if you dress in a disrespectful manner, you will face criticism. I recommend boots suitable for muddy terrain, such as hiking boots or GORE-TEX. There are also hills. I saw a deer, a porcupine, and a monkey. It's a shame I couldn't see the elephant.
The trip was very nice, the jungle is beautiful. Pick up and drop off a bit tricky with the traffic jam sometimes. However, I expected more from the guide: - the guide called me half an hour before the agreed time to ask where I was, and called 5 times in the half hour to the agreed time. He also asked if I could give the phone to the taxi driver to confirm that I was on my way. I did not feel very welcome because of this; - virtually nothing has been told about nature or animals; - the guide has been ahead during the trail, occasionally ringing loudly; - the guide did not warn us about leeches and when we had to climb a piece through / over water he did not help us. All in all definitely recommended, but I expected more from the guide (Pitphasin) That may of course also be me, have not done this before.
Beautiful small group excursion, nothing to complain about. As ordered during my booking, I had a pick up at the hotel but I was not brought back despite it being written on tripadvisor to and from the hotel 😤. Very disappointed on this point.
The outing itself is nice! We've seen monkeys, chimpanzees, if you're lucky seeing elephants is possible The park is huge the waterfalls nice Good cardio to expect To say the least -the guide lost us in the forest and lost us 30/40 minutes, so the meal break skipped... the first stunt was botched Leech Bcp BUY THE LEECHES 70 bth SOCKS
Sherry, the tour guide is a very nice woman. The whole thing is really worth an experience. It's best to put on really long clothes.
I had a wonderful time with my friendly guide around Khao Yai National Park. The park is full of powerful scenery, including huge waterfalls.
Exciting experience. Our guide Angie was extremely friendly. We had a very pleasant time in the jungle, and we saw wildlife, including monkeys and dragons.
Very nice experience. The guide and driver very friendly and concerned that we were okay at all times. We could see deer and monkeys
Very beautiful nature, interesting stories about trees, animal lifestyles or what's going on in general. Ride does not feel long.Food was good and toilets for rainforest conditions clean.
