Itinerary
mmerse yourself in the cultural and historical heritage of Bangkok by exploring the Grand Palace, the Emerald Buddha Temple and the options for Wat Pho, local markets and Wat Arun. Enjoy this trip with an experienced, local tour guide.
In 1782, King Rama I moved the capital from Thonburi across the river to Bangkok and built the Grand Palace adjacent to Wat Pho. In 1788, he ordered the construction and renovation at the old temple site of Wat Pho, which had by then become dilapidated. The site, which was marshy and uneven, was drained and filled in before construction began. During its construction Rama I also initiated a project to remove Buddha images from abandoned temples in Ayutthaya, Sukhothai, as well other sites in Thailand, and many of these Buddha images were kept at Wat Pho.These include the remnants of an enormous Buddha image from Ayuthaya's Wat Phra Si Sanphet destroyed by the Burmese in 1767, and these were incorporated into a chedi in the complex. The rebuilding took over seven years to complete. In 1801, twelve years after work began, the new temple complex was renamed Phra Chetuphon Vimolmangklavas.
Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan is a Buddhist temple (wat) in Bangkok Yai district of Bangkok, Thailand, on the Thonburi west bank of the Chao Phraya River. The temple derives its name from the Hindu god Aruna, often personified as the radiations of the rising sun. Wat Arun is among the best known of Thailand's landmark. The first light of the morning reflects off the surface of the temple with pearly iridescence.Although the temple had existed since at least the seventeenth century, its distinctive prang (spires) were built in the early nineteenth century during the reign of King Rama II.

Amazing tour! Great guide! So informative and very interesting!
We have a great experience with Nina, she was very knowledgeable. The restaurant was very good (food not included).
Everything was excellent. Our guide, Mina is great
This was a great way to explore the temples. Our guide (Sunny) was really good and kept things moving at a good pace. Our tour included a tuk tuk ride and boat ride together with walking. Just to note that this is a reasonably long tour (5 ish hours) and does not include a food stop). Having said that, a number of people, that had not read the information sent, did request a stop for lunch and our guide accommodated this (with the buy in of all participants) and took us to a local eatery where the food was very good and very inexpensive. We particularly liked Wat Pho (the reclining Buddha). Our guide was also very good at making sure everyone was able to get back to their hotels. Just to note, this tour does not end where it starts but the end location is right at a taxi station, tuk tuk station and the underground/metro. We would highly recommend this tour.
I enjoyed my tour a lot. I learned a lot about Thai culture from my guide
Sunny is a very knowledgeable guide, he is kind.
The tour was long but all good. Sunny was very nice
Sunny was really good! He was knowledgeable and gave us a lot of information about the temples
Experienced excellent tour guide Minna knows her city. Sadly the Royal Palace was closed (we were told there’s a partial refund coming) due to death of Royal Princess.
Amazing time with Sunny, eapecially with us all being so warm in the middle of the day. He was amazing and dealt with everyone well.
Johnny was an amazing guide! Very friendly and knowledgeable. 10 out of 10!
Mina is very funny and friendly
Excelente very very very good
Mina was a great tour guide! Great day out
We had a really great experience on the tour, our tour guide was sunny and he gave such great information about all of the temples and he even stopped so we could have lunch As it was extremely hot and he could tell we were all hungry, I rate his service 10 out of 10
Our check-in was a breeze. We were assigned a group and our tour guide was Mina. She was really knowledgeable and fun. We were offered water at the start of the tour and throughout the day Mina shared various details of the various spots we visited. It was very crowded due to the time of the year but Mina organized the group with ease. We had enough time to explore at each stop. We took the bus and boat to get around. The only thing missing was the lunch and ride back to River City as mentioned in the listing. Mina suggested a restaurant nearby and the food was good. And we arranged our ride back. I recommend this tour but recheck the listing details with the tour operator.
Our tour guide Luke was fantastic and shared lots of informative info about the temple, palace and the history behind everything. The tour company didn’t have our name for whatever reason but accepted us anyway. However it seemed disorganized. We also found the heat overwhelming so we chose to only do one temple when we paid for 3. I feel like that is something people should know before booking.
This was a really well planned trip with our guide. It was a super hot day and the guide tried to find shady spots to give us detailed info as we proceeded through the tour. All in our group enjoyed themselves, while taking lots of photos - even with our guide helping to take photos of us. Glad that I did this tour with a guide - there's lots of info that I had no idea about. Definitely highly recommended
Spent a wonderful morning with Mhom visiting the Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Wat Arun. We tried to navigate a temple by ourselves a few days ago but found it confusing and realised we needed an experienced guide. We are so glad we did this tour! We received very detailed information beforehand about appropriate dress, meeting place and how to travel by public transport to the meeting point. We enjoyed the ferry trip to our meeting point! Mhom was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour. It was extremely hot but she plied us with water, found shady spots to chat to us about what we were seeing. No question was too difficult for her - including questions we had about other sights we had visited or things we’d noticed but didn’t understand since arriving in Bangkok. We were also grateful to her for negotiating a low price for our return Tuk tuk trip at the end of the tour. Very highly recommended !
I participated in the half-day tour and was able to move efficiently while taking breaks occasionally. Thank you for your help, Taro. It was fun, even though it was just for our group!
It was so much fun talking about various things! I definitely want to participate again.
It was very hot, but I got two free bottles of water. Quite hard
Superb, Mina is a great guide👍👍
Great tours and great guide A must-do
It was just the two of us on a personal tour. I was also very familiar with Japanese history and it was easy to understand the explanation while comparing with Thailand
It was good that we were able to go around and learn various things, efficiently, a difficult place if we went around by ourselves. The guide worked very hard and I liked it.
It was repeated more than the alioli. Only 10% of the information is of cultural interest. The rest: no photo, yes photo.
It was a small group and it was like a private trip, which was great.
It was so good. Gee's Japanese was easy to understand.
It was a tour in the hot weather, but he guided us very carefully,
