Disappointing as it was not as expected. Previous floating market tours had included a trip around the market lines by boat and sellers offering goods and food from boats during the tour. This one left us to walk around the various parts of the market (on land) and then the boat part was a night trip on the river to see fire flies. It was difficult to understand the guide but that may have been down to the quality of the audio on the public address system in the bus Also the the time at the railway market was too short
Well organized and worth the trip! Our guide Jacky was awesome! Highly recommend
The floating market and railway market were fun, a must see if you want to see a little bit more of Thailand without going too far away from Bangkok. Seeing the vendors to move their stuff when the train arrived was awesome. It was not a five-star experience because although we purchased a tour that included the hotel pick up and drop off, it did not happen. We were asked to meet at the meeting point and been dropped off at the same spot.
Nancy was very good. Explaining everything well.
Very good, specially the guide
Fantastic day trip with Bond as guide and Mr Tiki our cheery driver. A great day with 3 outstanding experiences, the railway market, the temple and then the Amphawa market. We had a long enough length of time at each for Bond to quickly give us a feel for the place and show us some local foods on offer, then we had time to ourselves to explore the markets. The boat trip at Amphawa was included, it was an hour long around the river, we saw lots of fire flys. It was a great end to the day! Would defo recommend. - Helen, 43, from England, did the trip with my best friend.
We had a fantastic experience on the floating markets tour near Bangkok! The itinerary was perfect, especially the unique experience of watching the train pass through the Maeklong Railway Market. Our guide, Eddy, was exceptional—incredibly kind and insightful. He shared wonderful stories about local culture that made the tour feel much more personal and immersive.
Jacky and Uncle (driver) were very friendly and helpful on our tour. The coconut farm was a highlight that we did not expect. The lunch was very fast, too.
Cherry is a fantastic guide. She has a lot of information and always close to a laugh. Floating market was the best.
Ohm was a great guide. Very knowledgeable and funny. The trip was very worthy it. Both markets are amazing in their own unique ways. I would strongly recommend
We had a wonderful time on our tour. Cherry was very knowledgeable about the country's history which was fascinating! We had an incredibly amazing time. Thank you
It was a fun day exploring some markets that we wouldn't have visited or known about - so we are happy we went on this tour! Cherry was a fun and energetic guide and explained about the history and was generally fun to hang out with.
The tour guide came with a van that was 1 seat short and told us to get in the van to "wait for another car to come". But lo and behold, he closed the door and we went off on the tour. He also spoke really softly so only people in his extremely immediate vicinity could hear him. The temple only ok and wished we had skipped that to spend more time at the railway market. The floating market was good and the firefly boat ride was nice as well.
The private tour was the way to for us! Our guide was very informative and accommodated our needs and requests, as we wanted to skip the firefly tour and did a canal tour during the day instead which was great! The railway market is definitely unique but gets crowded as expected the floating market wasn’t as crowded
Apart from the train market (very touristy but fun), and perhaps the fireflies at night, there's nothing interesting to see on this tour... we basically wasted a whole day for something that could be done in a few hours by renting a car with driver (the guide was useless). The temple was one of the least fascinating we've ever seen, guide did not explain anything and just abandoned us there for more than 1 hour with nothing to do (and at pick up time the driver had to come and tell us where he was, as the guide had disappeared without giving us a meeting time/point). Finally, we went to the floating market... which is not floating: just an average tourist market along the river, nothing like a real floating market with boats and stuff... Again, the guide abandoned us there for 2 hours (nothing to do!) until it got dark and we went on the firefly boat, which was an extra 150 thb pp for a boat with 20 more people, who had paid 60 thb each. We could have gotten a private boat for cheaper! All in all we were very disappointed.
We covered the places. The guide sadly was difficult to understand. The return took nearly 3hr instead of 1.5hr because they decided to way off track to drop someone at their hotel, wouldn't drop anyone else off at their hotel only the pickup meeting point. Wasted our evenings.
Was a fun filled day experiencing two markets (train and floating) and a small temple. Train market was great for shopping for souvenirs and floating market was great for the food. Our guide Sureena was lovely and very attentive. If there was one thing we wish for would be more time at the floating market! It was huge and we couldn't make it through much because of time limitation, otherwise we loved the trip. Thank you!
We had an excellent time with Jack, our tour guide! Couldn't have asked for a better time/experience. He was so friendly, knowledgeable, engaging, and we learned so much Thai culture during the tour itself. I usually don't write reviews, but I wanted to write this to give him the praise he deserves! If you find yourself having Jack as your tour guide, you'll have an awesome experience!
All good in general. All the spots visited, no issues. Guide Eddy ok, but during the road spent to much time talking in thai with van driver, instead of telling stories about Thailand: history, actualities, facts etc.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable and super sweet. The tour went according to plan, very smooth. Definitely would recommend!
Tour guide Sherry was great. Gave lots of stories and history lessons and even bought us fruits to try during the van ride. Had a great time at the markets and saw tons of fireflies during the evening boat ride. Would definitely do again
Excellent Trip, everything was planned out good, well organized and Eddie our tour guide was excellent. Thank you for everything
No many boats in the floating market for selling products. Rail market was great Temple was great too
This day out was absolutely fantastic - Kit was very knowledgeable and taught us so much. Every aspect of the trip is thought out, you get enough free time to enjoy the markets, have some food. Seeing the train driver past us so close was such a surreal experience. The temple was beautiful and something you have to see with your own eyes. I couldnt recommend this tour and my tour guide more, Kit really made this tour memorable.
Highly recommend Nok and her tour!! She took us to the super cool Amphawa Floating Market, the Railway Market, and this jaw-dropping golden Buddha temple wrapped in a massive old tree - absolute must see! Nok was a blast! She knew all the ins and outs of the floating market pointing out the best food stalls and sharing fun tidbits about the local vibe. Felt like hanging out with a friend who just happens to know everything. At the Railway Market, she got us in the perfect spot to watch the vendors whip their stalls out of the way as the train rolled through. After we went to a temple that was straight-up magical with a huge tree growing all over it. Nok’s history about the place made it even cooler. She’s got this knack for making everything fun and easygoing while dropping all sorts of interesting facts. If you want a tour thats packed with good time and a guide who’s basically the best- Nok’s your person. Can’t recommend her enough!
Amphora floating market Vary funny! Maeklong railroad experience excited and awsome. The guiding is good experience!
Funny guy Story teller and kept us all in line Prepare for lots of driving All round covered everything in a day Dodged all the rain
Highly recommend great tour for families, with any age children, Jack our tour guide was very knowledgeable and explained the history, Best our driver was great with safe driving.
Eddie was as strict as a drill sergeant or overbearing father but it turned out to be very entertaining and I’m glad I had this experience I recommend you sit alongside the river inlet to enjoy the food from one of the floating market boats
Great tour for the whole family. Two unique market experiences with plenty of history and pict opportunities. The firefly boat was the highlight for the kids, there was no wind and we saw so many. The trees looked like Christmas trees. Eddie was very detail oriented and shared a lot of information. Very recommended.
Wonderful trip thanks to Surim guidence as she gets you to know all the history so easily, I recommend it 100% and would repeat.
Overall, the tour was conducted professionally. Mr. Jeerawat is very knowledgeable esp in the history of the places we are visitings. Even the Van Captain(Driver), was very patient and a very good driver in term of his driving from places to places. A little bit disappointment was that at Amphawa there isn't much boats at the river selling food products.
This is a lovely day out if you want to see some of the famous markets in Bangkok - the railway market and the floating market. Our tour guide, Jack, was super friendly and informative and gave us lots of information about where we were. Inbetween the two markets we also visited Wat Bang Kung, the oldest temple in the province, where Jack talked us through making a blessing to the Buddha. We finished with a wonderful boat trip to see the fireflies nearby and saw the market at night buzzing with activity. Nothing felt rushed and we had ample time in each location. The small group size also meant that everyone got to know each other well and didn’t feel too busy! A must see if you are looking for a fun day out!
Very well planned itinerary. The guide, Jack, was fantastic. Very friendly and informative, really made it enjoyable.
We were given the wrong pick up time so waited an hour but once picked up we had an amazing day. Visan our guide spoke excellent English and added many experiences to our day trip. He put us on the Maeklong train so we experienced going through the market stalls then we had an hour to enjoy there. We were then able to take photos of the train coming back through the stalls. He then took us to a Thailand culture outdoor centre and then on to Amphawa floating market where we enjoyed a boat trip to see fire flies. So much more than we expected. A great day. Thank you
Unfortunately the departure times from Bangkok was quite late. Pick up was supposed to be 12:30 but due to change of transport we didn't leave until 1:15pm which meant we missed the arrival of the 2:30pm 🚂 into the market. Then had to wait until 3:30pm for departure of the train. Need to scrap the firefly cruise as arrival back to Bangkok is not till 9pm which means it is too late to enjoy Bangkok in the evening. Should arrive back about 7:30pm instead. Leave earlier get back earlier.
What a great day. Jack and Tiki helped make our tour an exceptionally enjoyable time. Not only did Jack share some great history of our tour spots, he included everyone in our small group. Great job Jack! The tour was perfectly timed to experience the best of each stop without wasting time. A beautiful and memorable trip.
It was a great experience. Kit our guide was lovely and took time to take pictures as I was travelling solo. Mini van was comfortable. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because I was moved from one mini van to another after I have made friends. I was initially told it was due to a mistake. Later I found out it was because 2 friends were booked into 2 separate mini vans as they booked separately. Miffed that they weren’t in the same van I was moved to accommodate them. In the new mini van I was the only English person there so felt a bit isolated. Not sure why the two separate booking people were given priority over me. I guess being the solo person it was easy to move me. But I would liked to have been asked if I minded moving.
The train market was a unique experience, Amphawa night market was also very relaxed with a night boat trip to see the fireflies on the river. Very well organised and our guide jack was very helpful. Though I enjoyed the night market and was very local. More Thais visiting that the other floating markets. The only downside was there was not much for vegetarian food options
Very friendly guide who kept the day running smoothly but plenty of time to see everything. The market at Amphawa is wonderful and seeing the train pass by is a cool and unique experience. Definitely worth a day trip!
The trip guide and driver were knowledgeable and helpful. Got a lot of information and was given enough time to explore all the locations. Nowhere during the day trip did it feel that we missed out on anything. Great tour and thumbs up!!
Has such a unique experience, definitely recommend. At first we weren’t sure about going because it’s so far away and we didn’t know how we’d get back to central Bangkok but finding this tour was just what we needed to have such a great experience. the tour guide was very informative and gave us key tips that would you’d never know as a tourist such as the time of the train and dos and donts for the markets. It’s also nice that it’s just a small group of 9! We booked at 4 am and the tour started at 11:30am managed to nab the last 2 spots!
The Mae Klong Train Market is excellent, and totally met our expectations. However, the Ampawa Floating Market no longer exists, even though our tour description included a visit to a 'floating market'. Apparently the floating component of the market shutdown during COVID and the boats haven't returned - very disappointing and a misrepresentation from the tour company. The only boats on the canal are the powerful tourist boats that take people to see the fireflies at night which, to be perfectly honest, are completely underwhelming.
Had a lot of fun walking around the destinations, got amazing pictures at the railway market, tried amazing food due to our guides suggestion and enjoyed our boat ride, all thanks to Nina aka Pranee Upasit. 👏🏼
Wonderful experience. The start of our program's around 10.30 in the morning headed to railway market first, if you want to try different thai streetfoods sweets and fruits you can do it here and amphwa market. Our guide Ms Nina, nice and sweet she will always feed you 😂. We were taught how to pay respect to Buddha and even did some rounds of walking meditation. Amphawa canal doesn't have much boat as I am expecting like selling and all but enjoyed the ride with a firefly watching at the end.
The Maeklong Railway was number one on my bucketlist for a long time. Had to see it to believe it. It was great seeing it happen live.
Our tour guide , Bell has provided a good service by messaging me to ensure we don’t forget the meeting time of every destination. Overall we enjoyed the tour because we have seen the itinerary stated in package .
Sara the guide was brilliant: knowledgeable and funny. She had us all learning Thai during the transits. Both markets were fascinating and overall a great day out.
Annie was amazing! I had a really great time and would recommend the experience to others. Definitely worth it.
