Great way to end my work trip with a bike riding and boat trip with Candbike tours. Tour guide was really knowledgeable of the area, the spot for lunch on the waters edge was lovely and such a great hidden location. A little rain at the start didn't stop us :-) Really enjoyed it - thanks guys!

Itinerary
As you cycle through Bangkok’s hidden neighborhoods, we'll bike into Talad Phlu, a lively and culturally rich area known for its street food, Thai-Chinese heritage, and authentic community life. It’s a local favorite — not yet touched by mass tourism — and a real highlight of your journey. What You’ll See and Do: • Ride Through Historic Streets Cycle along narrow roads lined with colorful Sino-Thai shophouses, old tea shops, and faded facades that echo the past. It’s like riding through a living museum of Bangkok’s Chinese-Thai culture. • Experience Real Local Life This isn’t a curated market for tourists — it’s real life: locals shopping, elders chatting on stools, and families working in generations-old shops. Talad Phlu captures the heart of Bangkok — a flavorful blend of history, culture, and street life that you’ll experience up close from your bike seat.
During your Candbike journey through Bangkok’s hidden backstreets, one of the most striking and unexpected stops is Wat Khun Chan, a vibrant riverside temple in the Thonburi district. What You’ll See and Do: • Admire Giant Buddha Statues Be awed by the enormous seated Buddha towering above the temple grounds. These statues are not polished tourist sights — they’re raw, colorful, and deeply local in style, giving you a sense of authentic Thai spirituality. • Hear Cultural Context from Your Guide Your local guide will explain the temple’s role in the community, the symbolism of the statues, and how Wat Khun Chan reflects the character of old Thonburi — spiritual, artistic, and deeply rooted. • Photography Stop This is one of the most photogenic stops on the ride — vibrant colors, reflections on the water, and towering Buddhas make for truly memorable images.
As you explore the quiet neighborhoods of Thonburi by bike, we'll bike passed at the serene and lesser-known Wat Nak Prok — a beautiful temple that blends Thai and Chinese architecture, offering a calm and reflective moment during your urban adventure. Wat Nak Prok is a spiritual hidden gem, giving you a moment of connection to Bangkok’s religious roots and the quiet rhythm of local temple life.
As part of your cycling journey, you’ll pass through the peaceful, tree-lined neighborhood of Wutthakat — a lesser-known area that perfectly captures the charm of everyday Bangkok life. This stop offers a refreshing change of pace and a deeper connection to the city’s hidden side. What You’ll See and Do: • Cycle Through Calm, Local Streets Pedal along quiet backroads where you’ll see small wooden houses, local shrines, family-run shops, and glimpses of canal-side life — untouched by tourism. • Observe Authentic Thai Daily Life Watch residents tending gardens, sweeping their porches, or preparing food. It’s a relaxed, residential area where you’ll truly feel like a guest in someone’s neighborhood. • See the Contrast of Old and New Wutthakat is where old-style Bangkok meets gentle urban development — modern condos rising next to old wooden bridges Wutthakat may not be in the guidebooks, but it’s a real-life portrait of local Bangkok — friendly, quiet, and full of soul.

Great tour. Loved seeing areas of Bangkok you could only see on a bike and with a local guide. Easy bikes to ride. Felt very safe. Mostly off street biking. Water provided and took breaks along the way. Tommy our guide was very kind and knowledgeable.
Very interesting tour. Really back street! Philip was a great guide with a lot of information and stories to share. Definitely recommend if you want to see the real Bangkok.
Our guide Phillip was wonderful. This bike tour was a great way to see Bangkok away from the chaos and tourist hot spots. The pace of the tour was good for bike riders of all levels.
Philip was an awesome guide!! The team is thoughtful and each rider is considered when it comes to bike choices.. thanks team.. we will be back
Coco was an amazing guide, he was extremely friendly and informative and took us to many interesting temples and back streets that we would never have seen on our own. There was a bit of cycling on busy main roads which could be a bit stressful initially but wasn't too bad once we got used to it. Would definitely recommend!
You will indeed see the real Bangkok! Highly recommend :) ..........................................
Just do this tour. Guitar was a fantastic caring and knowledgeable guide Her “magic hat” made for a safe ride on easy effort paths and laneways I highly recommend this trip to get out of your hotel and insta world and see some real Bangkok Khop khun khrap Guitar for showing us your city
Excellent bike tour of local areas—wonderful guide Phillip. Bikes were beach cruisers-very easy to ride-mostly flat calm roads—great route, various sites—could not recommend more! Went as solo female and the experience was safe, friendly, relaxed; 2 other solo travelers in our group. Recommend morning if going during rainy season. Easy access BTS or reasonable taxi from city center. Guide responds very quickly when contacted with any questions too.
Outstanding - such a wonderful experience especially a family with older teens and young adults. A great way to see parts of Bangkok that might not always be seen. A lovely coffee stop by the canal, some interesting temples and delightful friendly guides who were very informative .
This tour was an absolute highlight of our Thailand holiday for every member of our family (2 adults and 2 teenagers). A privilege to explore the back streets of Thailand, to see people go about their everyday lives. Our guide Philip was excellent, providing great insights and access to unique sites with good humour. Thank you so much! Our thoughts are with all Bangkok residents impacted by the floods.
Highly recommended but not if you experience any physical limits or have back or leg pain of any kind. Coco our guide to excellent care of our group, informed us about local Thai culture and old Bangkok, he was safety conscious and he is an asset to this business.
Coco is the best! His sister guitar is also great!
Really enjoyed this experience, Phillip was very friendly and the ride was interesting and through the real life of the Thai people.
My wife and I had a thoroughly enjoyable three hour tour. The variety of streetscapes, landscapes and sites across three hours was outstanding. The bikes are in very good condition and the riding is all flat. The stops were well-paced and explanations of sites added to the enjoyment. Overall excellent value for money.
What a fantastic outing exploring back streets, laneways, canals and farmland. Guitar was an amazing guide. She’s such a sweet young lady, so happy and friendly with great knowledge. She knows the area incredibly well and the community seem to know her very well given the amount of waves, smiles and connection she has. The trip was way better than the $2000 baht long boat tour I did in the nearby canals. I’ve done a bunch of these type of trips in varying countries and think this is awesome. Thanks Guitar for sharing your neighbourhood with such passion. Loved it. Thanks for a great morning.
What an experience!! 5 of us ranging from 14 to 74. The staff were friendly, very good English. And the tour was amazing, and doable for all of us. Would 100% recommend this tour to see how the 'real' people of Bangkok live.
This biking tour was incredible! Our guide, Koko, who was raised in this area of Bangkok, “across the river” as he would say, was adept in the landscape and the people living here. We rode through the backstreets of the living quarters, the otherwise unseen food vendors, the village temples, the small jungles with native vegetation. All these places would be unknown without a carefully guided tour that Koko provided. We even witnessed the authentic 200 year old laying Buddha. This bike tour will forever remain our favourite experience in Bangkok because we came up close and personal with the indigenous Thai people, their smiles and their livelihood. Thank you, Koko! You are awesome :)
A great experience. Our teenage sons loved it too. Our guide Coco was very friendly andkept us safe and told us all about local life. A definite thumbs up.
Enjoyable morning cycle through the backstreets of Bangkok. Not at all touristic and a real look at daily life away from the bright lights of the city. Plenty of cycling time - well away from traffic and at times you’d think you’d in the countryside instead of bring in one of world’s busiest cities. Out guide Coco was great Recommended
We did this tour as part of a group. Our guide was Guitar and she was great. We saw temples and back streets and other quiet areas of Bangkok we would never have visited in our own.
Wonderful trip; really nice! Good length and pace. Really cool and interesting parts of Bangkok you don’t usually get to see. Guide Guitar (sic) is really friendly and forthcoming with stories and helpful on our way. Must-do!
Top guide and the real Bangkok
We had an absolutely fantastic bike tour with Phillip. We were a family of four with two teenagers aged 17 and 19, and every one of us loved it. It was genuinely one of the highlights of our trip to Bangkok. Phillip was friendly, knowledgeable and made us feel safe throughout. The route gave us an amazing insight into parts of Bangkok we would never have discovered on our own, with a great mix of local neighbourhoods, canals and hidden gems. The only thing that could have made it even better would have been a few more opportunities to stop and engage with local community businesses, perhaps with recommendations to try street food, buy drinks or purchase handmade products from small independent sellers. We would have loved to spend a little more time supporting the local communities we passed through. Overall, an outstanding experience that we would recommend to anyone visiting Bangkok, especially families with older children. Thank you, Phillip, for such a memorable day. Five stars.
This is a great way to explore Bangkok through the eyes of the locals. I think you should be fairly confident riding a bike as you navigate narrow alleys and canals. Ensure you stay hydrated & have change to buy you refreshments on your stops, you’ll need it. Tom our guide, was very informative & passionate about Bangkok. Thanks Tom :)
Really good experience! We wend in the morning because of the heat.
We had “Guitar” as our guide and she was amazing. Seeing areas that you would never visit was a true eye-opener and interesting to see and learn. Guitar took photos of the group quite often and helped with individual photos along the way too and was very kind to AirDrop all the pictures she took on her phone to the group free, with no additional cost. I will definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Bangkok.
The highlight of our Bangkok stay
A good experience to cycle around the narrow alley. We visited 3 different temples. Philip was our tour guide, a very funny and good guy. He takes us around and helps us take the pictures too.
Excellent service, route well planned and a fantastic guide! Also equipment in very good shape. Highly recommended.
This is the way to see old Bangkok. Our guide was wonderful and very informative, we got to see much more that we expected.
If you’re looking for a unique way to see Bangkok beyond the usual tourist attractions, I highly recommend the Bangkok Experience Bike Tour. The tour takes you through hidden laneways, local neighbourhoods, vibrant markets, and peaceful green spaces that most visitors would never discover on their own. It was the perfect mix of culture, history, food, and adventure. Our guide Koko was knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about sharing the real Bangkok. The pace was relaxed, making it suitable for all fitness levels, and there were plenty of opportunities to stop for photos and learn about local life. One of the highlights was riding through areas that felt worlds away from the busy city streets, giving us an authentic glimpse into Bangkok’s rich culture and community. The local snacks and refreshments along the way were a great bonus. A fantastic experience from start to finish and easily one of the best things we did in Bangkok. Whether it’s your first visit or you’ve been before, this tour offers a completely different perspective of the city. Highly recommended! 🚴🇹🇭✨
Beautiful bicycle trip organized by Coco. Got to see a hidden local vibe with lots of greens and some temples. Would go for it again definitely!
Enjoyed this morning bike ride through the streets of old Bangkok. It provided a glimpse of the city that most tourists would not discover on their own, mixed in with some brief stops to see attractions. Definitely recommend the morning ride, less likely to be overly hot.
It was our best day in Bangkok. we visited from Canada. The bike tour takes you through real Bangkok back streets. Not the famous Sukhumvit tourist places. You'll see real local people, local shops, local houses and local temples. Locals throughout the bike trail were always kind and welcoming to the riders with warm smiles. The guide was amazing. He was patient with the riders. One person from the group was lost somewhere along the track. He went back searched all over trail to find her and bring her back. You'll be well taken care of from that perspective. I would certainly recommend this to anyone visiting Bangkok for the first time. It's fun, it's eye opening and you get to see the real places that are not marketed for tourists. Real authentic Thailand experience. 10 out of 10.
Great tour! Coco was very patience in telling us spur the Thai culture, temples, food!! Saw parts of Bangkok that would not experience myself! The mango sticky rice we ordered was so good!!!
Great ride through Bangkok’s back alleys, very interesting to see how many thais are living. Easy pace but some of the sharp turns were tricky.
Good bikes. Narrow streets and alleys. Interesting, informative temple tours. Small group (six people total). "Go Go" our tour guide was splendid! We're in good physical condition and comfortable in the saddle. One would want to be in good shape to enjoy the ride--we loved it!
Bike tour was a wonderful way to see different parts of Bangkok. If someone is looking for a less intense experience than the central areas, I highly recommend 👍 Dan the tour guide brings good knowledge throughout
A lovely leisurely 3 hour cycle through the back paths, getting an insight into the locals lives as we cycled past homes and temples. lots of waving and saying hello as we passed. would definitely recommend.
Highly recommended! Philip is an amazing tour guide. He has a great personality, he knows the area well and is very patient. This tour bike is slow paced, fun and you get a good chance to see what Bangkok old colourful suburbs and beautiful temples have to offer. And it’s very affordable.
This is an unforgetable side of Bangkok. This is a guided tour in the streets of the people with very little means. At first it feels a little voyeuristic but you soon realise that it's fine. People smile and actively say hello. There are definately a couple of surprises which you will come across. Its an eye opener of a visit and I would recommend it to anyone capable of doing the 3 hour trip. It's not physically demanding if you are fine cycling on some smaller paths and the occasional foot bridge. Our guide was a gem. It's truly unforgetable in a strange way. We had a good group and everyone enjoyed the trip.
A great experience. Tour guide was great and was well loved by the villagers. Took our pics. Got to see the backstreets and everyone was so friendly and happy to see us pass by. Will do this again!
Excellent - a wonderful, informed, interesting, safe and leisurely cruise around hidden real Bangkok. Super friendly and helpful guide. Not to be missed.
It's a chance to see Bangkok from a different perspective. Our guide Dan is very knowledgeable and helpful.
Fantastic Bike tour with Coco
The bike tour through Bangkok’s backstreets was well organised and covered several areas that are not usually seen by regular tourists. The pace was manageable and suitable even for those with average cycling experience. Dan, the guide, explained the locations clearly and also shared useful local knowledge about the neighbourhoods, daily life, and smaller cultural details along the route. This added helpful context to the places we passed. The route included quieter lanes and hidden spots, which gave a different perspective of the city compared to the main tourist areas. Overall, it was a structured and informative experience for anyone interested in seeing Bangkok beyond the usual location
Pleasant afternoon cycling the back ways of Thor Buri. Saw things that I would never have found by myself. A good afternoon!
This was exactly what I wanted in a tour, hidden gems and places most tourists wouldn't normally see in a big city like Bangkok. Made me feel a bit like a local! And the biking route was really easy so I think any fitness level can do it. Guide was great, too, sharing lots of cool facts at each stop. Next time I'm back in Bangkok, I'm going to do this tour again! Plus, the pricing was great for the amount of time you spend on the tour.
Coco- our guide was fantastic. He was friendly, informative and aware of everyone in his group. We visited temples and areas that were not touristy and we really did see how Thai folks live. The ride itself was bizarre and super fun! We loved the twisty curved alleyways. It was a blast. (While we crossed some roads, we rarely rode on a road). The bikes were comfortable; one bike had a few problems (mine!) when I tried to shift down for minor upgrades- but it was all good. Highly recommend this tour. Do have lunch at Coco’s recommended Pad Thai shop close to the shop. Delicious!
