Itinerary
Go beyond Thailand’s well-known dishes on this tuktuk journey through old-Bangkok at places you’d never find on your own. This tour will show you where the locals eat while we discover centuries-old regional cuisines of Thailand across 5 authentic stops, away from the tourists in Chinatown. This tour starts at the Hua Lamphong Subway Station. An email will be sent with meeting location details and directions immediately after booking.
Start your night by savoring **Tom Yum Wontons**, a delicious fusion of Chinese and Thai flavors, blending tom yum ingredients like lemongrass, galangal, and kaffir lime with crispy fried wontons, served alongside a bowl of tom yum noodles. Then, wander through Bangkok’s hidden alleyways, a maze of vibrant street art, historic temples, and stunning riverside views, ending with a picturesque sunset over the pagodas.
Stroll through one of Bangkok’s oldest markets for an authentic glimpse into local street food culture. Discover popular central and southern Thai dishes like fried plantains, handmade lemongrass sausage, seasonal fruits, and more! Then visit a beloved auntie for her charcoal grilled satay skewers marinated in coconut milk, turmeric, and aromatic spices, then dipped in her homemade peanut sauce.
Isan cuisine is celebrated for its robust flavors combining spicy, sour, and umami. At this long-standing restaurant, we’ll try minced pork with aromatic herbs (Laab), fresh papaya salad (Som Tum), fragrant sticky rice, and meatballs fried with lime leaves for a perfect blend of these traditional flavors.
Bangkok’s favorite sweet treat is a sight to behold. Allow your guide to choose the best combination of seasonal fruit and popular add-ons, all swimming in fresh coconut milk.

We had a really nice time with some very good local food. The guide was incredibly informative and nice and showed us some parts of Bangkok we would have never seen otherwise.
Our guide Mona was perfect. She was very knowledgeable and wasn't in your face. The food stops were measured and appropriate, the markets were fascinating. This is the tour for those who want to eat where This people eat, not tourists! Highly recommended. Ask for Mona to be your tour guide.
A great evening, the food was incredible, great balance of eating, viewing markets, walking and travelling by Tuktuk. Mona and Cha cha were brilliant guides, they explained everything so well. Would highly recommend the tour.
A great tour, got to see and eat lots of things that we would not have done on our own. Mona was a really good guide, very knowledgeable and interesting.
I absolutely loved this food tour experience!! It was so much fun and the food was delicious. Our tour guides were so amazing, fun, and taught us so many things! I also love that the stops are very local and not tourist areas it makes the experience so much more authentic. I highly recommend this tour if you’re in Bangkok!!!
I booked this because I wanted to explore a different side of Bangkok with my mum… and then the weather decided to test us 😂🌧️ It started POURING. Legit heavy rain + flooding, and I was already thinking okay… there goes our whole plan 😭 But our guide was so quick to adapt and switched things around according to the weather, so we could still keep exploring instead of giving up on the evening. We kicked things off with Tom Yum Boran noodles 🍜 —comforting and tangy with that old-school Thai flavour. Then we wandered through a huge local market that literally had EVERYTHING — fresh produce, seafood, meat, cooked food and random stalls everywhere. Of course we had to stop for mangosteens + Mala skewers 😂 Then we went to a nearby fruit wholesale market for pork satay, followed by the SWEETEST Phu Lae pineapple 🍍 Honestly, the tuk-tuk rides were half the fun 😂 Just cruising through Bangkok from one stop to another while our guide shared little bits about the neighbourhoods and local food. Next stop = freshly cooked Pad Thai 👀🔥 Smoky from the wok, savoury + slightly sweet. Then another tuk-tuk ride to an Isaan-style feast — Tom Kha Pla (coconut galangal soup with fish), Som Tam (fresh, tangy green papaya salad), stir-fried mushrooms, Khao Niew (sticky rice) + mango sticky rice 🤤 What I really enjoyed was learning how Thai people actually eat and pair the different dishes together. Our guide made the whole thing feel really interactive rather than just going from one food stop to another. Also… we totally forgot to mention our dietary restrictions beforehand 🤦🏻♀️ Once they realised, they were super quick to adjust the food for us, which I really appreciated! By this point I was SO full 😂 but nope… one more tuk-tuk ride. We ended the night with drinks + THIS BEAUTIFUL VIEW OF LOHA PRASAT & WAT SAKET (THE GOLDEN MOUNT) ✨✨ Even with the crazy rain + flooding, they managed to switch things up and keep the night going. We got to explore local markets, see different parts of Bangkok and learn so much about Thai food along the way. Such a fun mother-daughter adventure 🛺❤️
What an incredible evening exploring Bangkok through its food! 🥘✨ We wandered through hidden lanes, hopped into a charming tuk-tuk, and stopped at places I’d never have found on my own — from sizzling street stalls to beloved family-run spots. Every dish was delicious — authentic, flavourful, and full of heart. Our guide Mona shared such wonderful stories about Bangkok’s food culture and history, making every bite feel even more special. It wasn’t just a food tour — it was seeing the real soul of the city 💛 If you want to taste the very best of Bangkok and experience it like a local, Lost Plate is an absolute must! 10/10 — thank you for such a memorable night! 🙏
Very good!Very good experience
Yummy walking and TikTok ridding food tour!!
We had a wonderful evening on our Lost Plate Tuk Tuk food tour. The arrangements and pick up was seamless. The drivers and especially our guide (Mona) were amazing. We got to try lots of different regional foods, sampled interesting fruits and meats and got to see a different part of the city. A wonderful way to finish our short stay in Bangkok.
We had a lovely evening on our Lost Plate Tuk Tuk food tour. The arrangements and pick up was seamless. Drivers and our guide, Mona, were amazing. We got to try lots of different Thai food from the different regions, samples interesting fruits and meats, and seeing new parts of the city. A wonderful way to finish our short stay in Bangkok !
What a wonderful evening with Cha cha our guide tasting the true Bangkok. From little holes on the wall to a bustling market well off the tourist trail we ate like locals and also Kings. Make sure you come hungry as the servings are generous and the food is too good not to finish - we ate at 5 stops ! Cha cha was delightful and so knowledgeable, plus travelling across the city by Tuk Tuk we had the bonus of a sightseeing tour. Thanks again for a memorable night
We had a delicious and memorable experience with Lost Plate and Mona Tours. With 11 stops, we were full to bursting with food we would not have found ourselves made by kind, talented cooks all over Bangkok. The food includes staples from several regions of Thailand, as well as a visit to a local fresh market to sample fruit and prepared food items. This is a not-to-be missed experience!
Loved it. Chacha looked after us. He was fun and knowledgable Its great to get under the skin of the city.
Cha Cha our tour guide was a great host. He explained so much of the Thailand/Chinese culture and traditions to us. There was various food tasting, however my absolute favorite was the noodle and soup and the sticky mango rice at the end. I truly enjoyed the tour and learning so much about the culture. Thanks Cha Cha!
Had an amazing experience with Lost Plate. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and wonderful throughout the tour. The food was outstanding — authentic, delicious, and took us to places we never would have found ourselves. Such a great way to experience the real local food scene. Highly recommend.
We had a WONDERFUL experience with Mona, she was so kind, intelligent, and fun. She not only took us on a delicious tour, but shared incredible context and history for the dishes we enjoyed and the history of Bangkok. Could not reccomend more!
It was a great tour and experience. Around 4 houra tour combined with 5 food local stops (some small restaurants, local market, street food.. finishing with a drink in a rooftop. At the same time you walk around and it was also possible to admire the sunset on the river side. Food was tasty... big quantity and really worth... local places chosen to eat were also very cool. Our guide, ChaCha was great. THANKS to you because you make the trip more enjoyable. Very nice guide, explaining everything very clear, good level of English and knowledge. If you have the tour with ChaCha you won't be dissapointed.
We had a SO MUCH food. Our tour guide was lovely and very friendly. It was a small tour so loads of leftovers (which was a shame) but still a great experience. Cha-cha took us to local places and even picked up a few bits extra when we asked about them so we could try. He also took us on a little walk to see some other sites as we went. Very thoughtful!
This tour was amazing! Every stop had amazing food and we left stuffed and happy. Mona was amazing and knowledgable of the food, history and locations. Highly recommend!!
I've been a Lost Plate fan for a long time now, but haven't been in Asia lately to enjoy them. Fortunately, work sent me to a conference in Thailand and some colleagues and I arranged to experience the Bangkok edition of their evening food tour. It was a blast and they were super accomodating as we managed not just one but two private groups. You MUST come hungry. At just the first stop we ate what was basically a light lunch. And it got better from there. Everything was delicious but if you want to enjoy it all, you need room in your stomach!
If you want to see Bangkok sights, ride in a stylin’ tuk tuk, learn about the city and eat more food than seemingly possible this trip is for you.
Amazing local spots, learned how to eat satay the Thai way, and had the most fun tuk tuk ride with new friends. 10/10 recommend
It was such a fun experience to go around the TukTuks and going to local food spots. The guides Rom and Mona were absolutely fantastic! They made the tour completely worth it!
Mona and her driver were one of the highlights of Bangkok. They are a fabulously fun, friendly and informative team, taking us to so many amazing places to eat. We experienced family run restaurants, markets of different types, street eating with Aunty Satay and a wonderful finishing spot, all transported around in a groovy tuk-tuk around the streets of Bangkok. Absolutely recommended!
Good experience with a great tour guide. Got to try multiple bites and ended the tour full. Transportation was handled completely by the group, some light walking which was good to walk off the food, overall good experience
Mona was a wonderful tour guide, on our evening foodie excursion. She was friendly, knowledgeable and fun. I particularly appreciated how she accommodated my preference for fish rather than meat, so I still got the authentic experience.
My mom and I spent our first night in Thailand running around Bangkok with Cha cha and Lost Plates in a Tuk Tuk having some of the most exceptional food from places I would have never imagined venturing into on my own. It was an exceptional welcome to the country and I cannot recommend it enough!
It was such a great experience! Our guide Chacha shares a lot of history of the city and the streets we passed! We learned a lot. We also ate a lot of very Nice food. A lot of local experiences too (places only locals frequent). Tip op advice: it’s a loooooot of food. So don’t eat everything from the start or you won’t last till the last :D. We also learned a few new dishes that’s not the classic ones. I would highly recommend!!
Had a great food tour of Bangkok with ChaCha and his mates. Four adults, two tuk tuk’s and a plethora of amazing food! Six stops - noodles, beer, pad Thai, soup - you name it! Highly recommend! Word… don’t eat lunch before this 5pm food tour!
Had an amazing tour with ChaCha and his team. Only complaint…. Too much food! 🤣 Everything was delicious! Six stops for food and drinks. Tuk tuk travel was super fun!
Had a great night out with our food tour guide Chacha. The time was well spent in every spots. Great trip!
I had a fantastic experience and our tour guide Cha Cha was so hospitable and helpful. He made the whole experience a pleasure and I’ll definitely come back to Bangkok!
Mona was awesome showing us through a wonderful variety of local produce and tasty dishes.
We love the tour and specially Mona
Mona was a great guide. We visited a lot of authentic places you would never visit by yourself as a tourist. Lots of food, you cannot even finish!
It was a really nice experience, Mona and her team were great and made the tour really fun, we tasted all kinds of different foods. I definitely recommend it, specially if it is your first time here
Mona was a fantastic guide who fed us until our bellies could not take anymore!! :). Driving in a TukTuk through the night streets of Bangkok was a not miss experience! We loved the undiscovered neighborhoods and the local places and recommend to everyone
What a fabulous evening, our guide Tukky was a wonder; full of fun and knowledge. Our tour included guided tours around local markets that you would never find by yourself, not to mention incredible food. Thank you Tukky you are a total star.xx
This was a great tuk tuk tour eating our way through Bangkok with Tukky, our fabulous guide. Great food, great sites, great fun! I would highly recommend this tour.
Tukky is a very outgoing and knowledgeable guide. Her enthusiasm is infectious and is a joy to be with. The choice of restaurants and sites we visited were fantastic. Highly recommend this activity when in Bangkok.
Tukky made this tour so much fun and the food was delicious. We had a great time zooming around in the tuk tuk and tasting a few things we wouldn't have had the confidence to try on our own. An wonderful way to spend an evening in Bangkok.
Tukky was an excellent tour guide. She is super friendly and sweet. Took us to great foods. The drivers were nice too. Highly recommended!
There wasn’t much food, and the dessert was a poor choice. Toward the end of the tour, everything felt forced and unnatural, unlike the beginning, which felt more relaxed and genuine. Overall, the experience lost its charm by the end and didn’t finish on a strong or authentic note.
We’re big fans of the Lost Plate food tours and have been on three tours across Beijing and Guangzhou. The LP tour in Bangkok and we had a great time walking through the old town of Talad Noi with guide Mona who is very knowledgeable and shared so much about her unique culture. The only downside for us Malaysians was that the dishes we tried were very familiar and not as novel as we had hoped. Would be good maybe to switch up the stops every now.
Be ready. To try lots of different foods from the different regions of Thailand. Definately come hungry! Our guide, Mona was very knowledgeable and answered Al of our questions. She guided us through some interesting neighborhoods where we got a glimpse of local life. The market tour was very informative as well. Had fun riding around in the tuk tuk and our driver was very nice. It was a very well organized tour.
We loved the Lost Plate Tour of Bangkok. Our group was 2 adults and 2 teenagers and we had an amazing evening. Our two hosts - Mona and Cha Cha were both great. An evening to remember!
This tour takes you to the markets and some restaurants around Bangkok. Our guide was nice but the food she chose was not suitable for us. She seemed to have a pre- organised route and pla. That didn’t quite fit. We are a family with children and most options were too spicy for all of us. My husband is lactose intolerant so he couldnt have some of the food. The tuk tuks were great, modern and well kept. It was a fun experience but we ended up hungry… for the money we paid for it we were expecting more. Wouldn’t do it again.
Mona was a great tour guide the whole experience was well organised used and ran smoothly. The food choices were thoughtful and delicious!
