Seeing the giant reclining Buddha at Wat Pho was amazing. Kevin was very attentive, kept us in shaded spots while talking, and always had cold water ready in the van. We enjoyed every stop without any pressure on the schedule.

Itinerary
The Grand Palace was constructed together with the founding of Bangkok in 1782 when King Rama 1 ascended to the throne and founded a new dynasty. The Grand Palace is very important as it used to be the palladium of the state. It was used for both the royal residence and the administrative center of the country in the government system of absolute monarchy. Today, the palace is used just for ceremonials. The architectural plan of this palace was almost identical in every detail to the Grand Palace of the former capital of Ayutthaya (about 600 years ago) because the King wanted to recreate the glory of the city as it was in the past. So it was completely first built in traditional Thai style. However, at various periods, the influences from other nations affect to the architecture in Thailand in different reigns such as the Chinese elements introduced by King Rama 3 in the early 19th century and the western building style introduced by King Rama 5 in the late 19th century.
The Emerald Buddha image, the most important Buddha image in Thailand is enshrined inside the ordination hall of the temple. The Emerald Buddha image wasn't cast from Emerald but was cast from high quality of green jade. We found the Buddha image in 1432. You come to Thailand, you should go and pray for your luck.
There is no clear evidence when the Reclining Buddha Temple or Wat Pho Temple was first built but we believe that the temple has been there for over 300 years before the founding of both the capital of Thonburi and Bangkok. There you will see the most beautiful Reclining Buddha image in Thailand with 46 meters long and 15 meters high.
Wat Arun Temple or the Temple of Dawn is the landmark of Bangkok. There you will see the highest Prang tower in Bangkok with the height of 67 meters.

We had an awesome day out with Ken! He got us through the palace gates smoothly and shared great background stories about each site. The reclining Buddha figure was stunning, and Wat Arun looked amazing in the daylight. Ice snapped some great pictures for us too. Cheers for a great tour!
Preecha (Peter) was our tour guide for this event, he was the most kindest and very knowledgeable tour guide we had the pleasure of having today. He was very understanding, explained everything to us, and he was very kind to us .
We had very smooth trip with Pim today. Car arrived at our hotel right on time and inside was clean with cool air-con. After walking around sunny temple grounds at Grand Palace and Wat Pho, sitting back in car with cold water gave us good energy again.
Hotel pickup and drop-off were super smooth, so we didn't have to stress about taxis or navigating at all. Every stop was stunning, especially seeing Wat Arun up close across the river. Our guide Poppy was amazing really friendly, spoke great English, and took incredible photos of us throughout the day.
Taking this tour was hands down the smartest choice we made for our trip. Going from the massive golden halls of the Grand Palace to the huge Reclining Buddha at Wat Pho was an amazing experience. Taking the boat across the river to Wat Arun was super refreshing, and climbing up to see the colorful towers was so exciting. Poppy made the entire journey feel so effortless! She handled all the entry tickets, guided us away from busy crowds, and kept us laughing the whole morning. She’s so caring and attentive. We couldn’t have asked for a better day in the city!
The Grand Palace is as beautiful as everyone says. I visited today with my family, having booked a tour through "Poppy Friendly Trip." We were lucky to have Poppy as our guide; she is highly skilled, very friendly, and took care of everything. She explained the history in a way that was simple and easy to grasp. All our transportation was arranged for us, so there was no waiting around. After the Grand Palace, we visited the Temple of the Reclining Buddha which was also beautiful and then headed to Wat Arun. It was a lovely day, and I really enjoyed that temple. Everything about this tour was excellent a big thank you to Poppy!
We booked this tour for our first day in Bangkok and it was a great decision. Ken was friendly, kept everything moving smoothly, and showed us around the Grand Palace and the surrounding temples. It rained a little bit during the day, but it stopped pretty quickly and actually cooled things down nicely. Having a cool AC car to rest in between stops was helpful!
I really enjoyed this tour with Poppy. The Grand Palace had so much to see, and she pointed out little details I would have missed on my own. The Reclining Buddha was one of the parts I liked most, and the temple by the river had a completely different feel from the other stops. Poppy was easy to talk to, knew the area very well and kept everything interesting throughout the day. I’m really glad we had her as our guide.
Really happy with this tour. Ken was easy to talk to and took good care of us. The Grand Palace was my favourite. Would recommend.
The Grand Palace and temples were beautiful, but having Adrian there made everything much easier. He knew where to go, where to stop for photos and how to explain things without giving us too much information at once. The riverside temple was probably my favourite. A very good day overall.
Poppy was our guide for the day and she was lovely to be around. I really liked the Grand Palace, especially all the detailed walls and columns, but Wat Pho surprised me the most. The Reclining Buddha is huge when you see it up close, and the paintings inside were really interesting too. Poppy pointed out a few details we would probably have missed and also helped us find some good photo spots. Wat Arun was a nice way to finish the tour. Really happy we chose this one.
Fun way to explore Bangkok's most famous landmarks. The Reclining Buddha at Wat Pho was definitely my favorite part of the day, but walking through the Grand Palace was absolutely stunning too. Teddy kept a really comfortable pace for us, answered all our questions, and pointed out the best spots for photos. Having a clean, cool van between stops made it so pleasant!
This was a perfect length tour, exploring places like Emerald Buddha and Grand Palace and several other temples, also, our guide Poppy spoke great English, so this was a excellent day trip!
The Grand Palace was the place I was most excited to see and it was even more impressive once we got inside. Wat Pho was quieter and I really liked seeing the Reclining Buddha up close. Wat Arun was probably my favourite for photos. Poppy explained things in a simple way, gave us useful tips and knew how to move around each place without wasting time. I’d recommend this tour if you want to see the main temples in one day.
Since we were visiting Thailand, we just had to see the temples in Bangkok. My family and I chose this tour and went with Poppy friendly trip, we were really impressed, and so glad we came with Poppy. All three temples and the Grand Palace were truly beautiful. I really respect Thailand for creating such beautiful things. If anyone wants to visit Thailand and is interested in temples, we recommend Poppy.
Really enjoyed today. Got to see all three main Bangkok temples each one was so unique and beautiful in its own way. Big thanks to Poppy for taking such good care of us all day!
Had a blast visiting the Grand Palace and Wat Arun with Mam. The contrast between the bright gold palace and the colorful porcelain temple by the river was awesome. The private car made getting around super easy.
Three famous places in one day and I’m so glad we had Bomb showing us around. The Grand Palace was stunning, Wat Pho had a completely different feeling, and crossing over to Wat Arun was another highlight. Bomb has a really warm personality and a good sense of humour, which made spending the day with him genuinely enjoyable. He also knew exactly what was worth stopping for and shared plenty of interesting little details along the way. If Bangkok temples are on your list, book through Poppy Friendly Trips and ask for Bomb. He’s someone I’d happily recommend to friends visiting Thailand.
We got to see the most famous landmarks and they were all so beautiful. The Grand Palace left us speechless, and each temple we visited had its own unique look and feel. Poppy was a pleasure to be with, kept things moving nicely, and helped us with anything we needed. Fantastic experience.
We started early at the train market watching the stalls close up just in time for the train to pass. It was a long drive to Ayutthaya, but the van was so comfortable that we slept nicely on the way. The old capital temples were stunning. Big thanks to Poppy for being such a sweet guide!
I already planned to visit the temples in Bangkok, but I didn’t want to do it on my own because I was travelling with my kids, so I booked a private tour with Poppy. It made the day much easier for us. Poppy was patient with the children and always helped us with where to go and what to see. We visited the Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Wat Arun, and my kids actually enjoyed it more than I expected. I could relax and enjoy the places instead of worrying about directions and transport. Very happy we had Poppy with us that day.
Taking a private tour was the best decision for our family. Seeing the Grand Palace and Wat Arun up close was incredible. Everything was smooth, and Bow was such a lovely guide. She was friendly, attentive, and always ready to help us with photos and questions. She took great care of our family and made the whole experience even more enjoyable.
Such a chill trip with Poppy. The Grand Palace looks unreal in real life, and crossing the river to see the Temple of Dawn was definitely our favorite part. Plus, having a private air-conditioned van was a absolute lifesaver between stops!
Even after looking through our photos, it is difficult to choose a favorite place. Every stop had something special to see. Poppy knew where to take us, what details to point out, and when to give us time to look around. Her friendly personality made the whole day feel easy. Thank you for giving our family such a good memory of Bangkok.
The Grand Palace was already high on our Bangkok list, but Bow made the visit much more meaningful. She explained the important details in a way that was easy to follow and always noticed when we had a question. Wat Pho and Wat Arun were both beautiful in different ways. Thank you, Bow, for taking such good care of us and making the day so enjoyable.
What we appreciated most was how comfortable Poppy made everyone feel. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely happy to share her knowledge about Bangkok. The Grand Palace was impressive, the Reclining Buddha was much larger than we imagined, and Wat Arun looked wonderful beside the river. We are very thankful to Poppy for such a lovely experience.
I would highly recommend this tour for people wanting a cultural experience and are limited on how much they can see. We felt that we could set the pace and Peter was very helpful in engaging our children in the tour. This allowed us as parents to feel relaxed and comfortable knowing that he was ensuring they were involved and happy with the tour.
Poppy was the best tour guide! We had a fantastic time, saw all the sights and learned so much. The driver was always ready to pick us up and we were so grateful for the cool towelettes when we got back into the car! Also, Poppy recommended the yummiest lunch spot. Thank you for a wonderful tour!
We had such an incredible experience with Belle (and Peter, our driver)!! Her energy and excitement made our day so great from the first moment. She is so knowledgeable and answered all of our questions about the architecture and history of the city with so much enthusiasm. I also have a gluten allergy and she took the time to call ahead to a restaurant to ensure I could eat there safely. I cannot say enough positive things about her and this whole experience. We miss her already!!
Our guide Belle and driver Peter were phenomenal. Felt like VIPs all day long. Everything went super smoothly and Belle packed in so many unique experiences. She was very knowledgeable and personable.
Unforgettable! In the best of ways! Belle and Peter were beyond amazing. Worth every dollar you spend on this adventure and more!
I cannot say enough good things about our guide Belle and driver Peter! In just one day, I feel like I really saw and understood so much of Bangkok! A very good price and amazing customizable experience. Belle was so kind and fun and Peter made the ride comfortable and smooth!
Belle was an absolutely wonderful guide—warm, knowledgeable, and attentive throughout the tour. She brought Bangkok’s temples and history to life while letting us explore at a relaxed pace. She also has a real talent for photography and took beautiful pictures of us that will be lasting memories of our trip. Highly recommended!
I’m big on photography, and Pally was the perfect guide for this. She didn't rush us at all; she let us take our time at Wat Arun to catch the light perfectly. Her knowledge of the temples is deep, but she explains it in a very easy-going way. The whole tour felt very personal, and the pick-up/drop-off service from our hotel made it completely worry-free. Pally’s passion for her city really shines through, and it made the whole experience so much more enjoyable.
Poppy was such a kind and caring guide throughout the day. Poppy always checked if we needed water or wanted a short break to rest, making everything completely easy for us. The Grand Palace was stunning and The Temple of the Reclining Buddha was huge in real life. Also loved the unique design of the Temple of Dawn. Would definitely book another tour with Poppy!
The tour was just right especially for my senior parents. Angie, our tour guide was really great! Excellent service, very accommodating, considering her recovering from her injury, she has been a great guide. Loved how she has taken care of us the whole time. Great experience especially that it was my parents first time in Bangkok.
We had an amazing time visiting the Grand Palace with our guide, Da. The palace is absolutely beautiful everywhere you look there is gold and such incredible detail. It’s definitely a must-see in Bangkok! Da was a fantastic guide. She was so friendly and knew all the best spots to walk so we could see everything clearly. She also helped us take some great photos together. After the palace, we visited Wat Pho and Wat Arun, which were also very impressive. Da looked after us so well the whole day and always had cold water ready for us, which was so nice in the heat. If you're looking for a great guide who is kind and knows the palace well, definitely ask for Da! We really enjoyed our day.
If you are planning to visit the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, and Wat Arun, you MUST ask for Poppy! From the second she picked us up, she was a literal ball of sunshine. Her energy is infectious and she made the whole day so much fun. The Grand Palace can be overwhelming because it's so big and crowded, but Poppy navigated us through it like a pro. She knew all the secret spots to avoid the crowds and, more importantly, she knew exactly where to stand to get those 'Instagram-perfect' photos! Honestly, she’s not just a guide, she’s a professional photographer! At Wat Pho, she told us the most fascinating stories about the Reclining Buddha that we never would have known if we were on our own. And when we got to Wat Arun, she was so attentive always making sure we had ice-cold water, keeping us in the shade, and even using a fan to keep us cool. Poppy’s English is fantastic, she’s hilarious, and she genuinely cares about making sure you have the best day possible. She was so kind and thoughtful throughout the entire trip. By the end of the day, we felt like we were saying goodbye to a close friend. Thank you, Poppy, for being the highlight of our trip to Bangkok! You are a legend!
Exploring the temples alone could have been overwhelming, but Ava made it so easy. She knows all the best paths to avoid the biggest crowds and pointed out the most stunning spots for photos. The Grand Palace is breathtaking, and having a private, ice-cold vehicle waiting for us between stops was a lifesaver. Ava is very attentive and professional. Great day out!
Da really made our morning. She’s got such a positive energy. The Reclining Buddha is something you have to see for yourself, and the Grand Palace is just 'wow'. If you're in BKK, go with Da!
Our morning with Ava was honestly the highlight of our trip. We started at the Grand Palace, and she was so patient, explaining the tiny details of the Emerald Buddha that we definitely would’ve missed on our own. After that, we took a short walk to Wat Pho. I’m still obsessed with how massive the Reclining Buddha is it’s mind-blowing! The best part was hopping on the ferry to Wat Arun. The design of that temple is so unique compared to the others. Ava was so thoughtful, always finding us a spot in the shade and making sure we had ice-cold water to beat the BKK heat. It felt like a totally seamless day from start to finish. If you’re looking for a guide who truly cares, Ava is the one!
I’m traveling solo and Da was the perfect guide. She’s super friendly and makes sure you get all the iconic shots at the Grand Palace and Wat Pho. Definitely felt like touring with a local friend.
We had an absolute blast! Our guide Poppy met us early to beat the rush at the Grand Palace. Seeing the Emerald Buddha in person is something else the detail is insane. After that, we walked over to Wat Pho to see the Reclining Buddha. It’s huge! I mean, photos don't even do it justice. We ended the tour by taking a quick boat across the river to Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn). The porcelain work there is beautiful. Poppy kept us hydrated and told us all the best spots for photos.
Our family had a lovely day with Paula. She was so attentive to my children and made sure they were engaged the whole time. The Grand Palace is a lot to take in, but Paula broke it down beautifully. The kids were obsessed with the giant Temple of the Reclining Buddha! The boat ride to Temple Of Dawn was such a treat for them. Paula is a fantastic guide and a very warm person. We felt very lucky to have her.
Big shoutout to Peter. He’s very organized. He handled the crowds at the Grand Palace like a pro, so we didn't waste time standing in the wrong lines. The Temple of the Reclining Buddha was spectacular, and Peter explained the symbolism in a way that actually made sense. We hit the Temple Of Dawn just as the light was perfect for photos. Everything went exactly as planned. Cheers!
We visited the Grand Palace, the Reclining Buddha at Wat Pho, and Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn). All three places were beautiful and definitely worth visiting. The Grand Palace was very impressive with all the details and colors. The Reclining Buddha was huge and peaceful to see, and Wat Arun was also very beautiful by the river. Our guide Paula was very friendly and easy to talk to. She explained some interesting history but also gave us time to walk around and take photos. The tour felt relaxed and enjoyable. Overall, it was a really nice experience.
This was a very enjoyable tour around some of Bangkok’s famous temples. The Reclining Buddha was definitely one of my favorite parts. Wat Arun was also very nice and a great place for photos. Our guide Da was friendly and helpful throughout the tour. It was a nice experience
I’m usually too lazy for tours but I’m glad we did this. Kai handled everything tickets, transport, everything. We just showed up. The Grand Palace is beautiful but honestly, the Reclining Buddha was my favorite. Huge!
Had a private tour with Paula. She’s so calm and sweet, which was great because the Grand Palace was crazy busy. She knew exactly which way to go to avoid the big groups. Wat Pho (the big Buddha) was much more chill. Such a beautiful day.
