How you like this tour depends a lot on personality. It is a real crowd scene at the boarding location of all these tours and is overwhelming. That said, I think this company appeared to do better than others at keeping things more orderly for boarding. The buffet has to accommodate quite a few cultures, so that makes it hard to please everyone - the food was okay, but there was no line or flow. It felt like a fight to the finish with everyone crowding all parts at once. The entertainment was average and not very authentic. Mostly western music with a few costumed dancers thrown in. it was fun to see the fireworks on the river.
The Viva Alangka Dinner Cruise was an absolute highlight of our trip to Bangkok! From the moment we stepped aboard, we were treated like royalty. The boat was beautifully decorated and offered stunning views of the Chao Phraya River, including iconic landmarks like Wat Arun and the Grand Palace lit up at night. The buffet was delicious and had a wide variety of Thai and international dishes—everything was fresh and flavorful. The live music and cultural performances added such a lively, joyful vibe to the evening. The staff was incredibly attentive and friendly, making sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves at every moment.
The Cruise was an absolutely amazing experience! The moment we stepped aboard, we were greeted by a warm and friendly staff who made us feel welcome right away. The atmosphere was lively, and the views of Bangkok’s illuminated skyline were breathtaking. The buffet had a great variety of delicious Thai and international dishes, and everything was fresh and well-prepared. The highlight of the night was the cabaret show! The performers were stunning, full of energy, and incredibly talented. The music, costumes, and choreography made for an unforgettable performance that kept us entertained the entire evening. If you're looking for a fun and memorable night out in Bangkok, this cruise is a must! Big thanks to IAsia for securing the open air deck for us too
Absolutely spot on. Loved it. Attentive staff, superb entertainment and an amazing selection of food. Really can't fault it and highly recommend. The only piece of advice would be to make sure you book the TOP DECK as that's where all the entertainment takes place and also gives unobstructed views of the remarkable Bangkok skyline
Do not recommend. Why did our cruise go south to terminal 21, taking us to nowhere instead of following the route and taking us to the grand palace. We saw nothing of the famous landmarks. The food was mid and it was raining the whole time.
Firstly , the staff at the line-up near the pier were not communicative in where the line started or ended . We arrived early and they told us to hang around but ended up being told to go the back of the queue when it was time to board (a queue we were not aware was there for this specific cruise) it felt messy . Secondly , there is no organisation as to tables going to the buffet stations , as soon as the boat ride started , everyone got up at the same time to help themselves and it was really frustrating and tough having to navigate the crowd. They should try to manage that timing a bit better and maybe try to allocate certain rows at a time to come to the station . The music was fairly good although the entertainers (Thai traditional dancers) were BASIC and begged for money at each table... we could not even see the performance from where we were sitting - we had to stand up and go to the front . The food was also below average . One positive is that the staff serving drinks were generally helpful and served with a smile . Many improvements to be made but I would not personally book with this cruise again … I’ve been on a few others that are better value for money in Bangkok .
We were booked on the top deck and it was spacious enough with great views. The buffet spread was sufficient and delicious with a great choice. We especially loved the abundant fresh giant river prawns. Service was excellent as a waiter was assigned to our table to clear plates and take photographs for us, they made our night. The live entertainment was ongoing throughout the 2 hours. An experience to remember for a very long time!
Entered the boat and went to the roof top which is what we booked for family of 10 people. Table wasn't there and we were directed to a low deck(water level) with only 8 seats for 10 people. Contacted our server and director but received very little help. Finally a separate table was placed at the very end of the buffet and not with other family members disrupting the buffet for everyone. At one point our server told us this happens every trip and foreigners don't complain and just go home. We weren't complaining. This was a blatant breech of contract. Our family tried to make the best of it but with zero compassion or customer service from this company our birthday celebration was ruined. Food at best rated a 3 out of 10. Tables were placed so close together my wife and the lady behind her litterly had to climb in and out of their seats to go to the buffet. Overall this was the worse experience in our month long stay visiting family in Thailand. Do not take this cruise.
This is a huge boat, great food, especially the big prawn, good entertaiment. We were seated on 3rd floor with excellent services from waiter and waitress. Viva Alangka dinner cruise is budget yes but one of the best. We will go back again.
Total carnage. We where directed to pier 1 when we got there there was people waiting for 3 different cruises all in one area.we finally got on the boat the staff didn't have a clue where tables where.as we finally sat down at our table we where near buffet when suddenly people just started to get food constantly knocking our table total chaos, we finally got to go for food no western food at all like advertised. It was like feeding time at the zoo
We had the middle table on the 3rd floor, open air. I read some reviews so I did expect the "ok, not thing special" food, I bought tickets for the view. The problem is, the food was not "ok, not thing special", it was plain bad. I expected "ok" is like those free breakfast buffets that you would have at hotels The moment the ship leave the pier, costumers rush toward the food counter trying to take back as much cold, bland buffet food as possible. And when the food ran out, it ran out completely. The steamed shellfishs were hard and cold as they were took out from the refrig. The tomyum is the worst dish, the soup is bland and full of shrimp meat debris from those tasteless and falling apart shrimps in the tomyum. If this was the quality of cooked seafood, I don't want to know the quality of the sashimi
Me and my girlfriend took the cruise on 11th of January '23, beautiful views but we both suffered from diarrhea the next day. My girlfriend is Thai and we are eating all over Bangkok for weeks now. It must have been the food server on the cruise.
Delicious food, great atmosphere, helpful staff, good service.
Experience for tourists, beautiful outdoor tables but is more likely to find yourself in the indoor room, sometimes even with reduced visibility of the breathtaking exterior. The gastronomic choice remains small and of not high quality.
Great entertainment After the initial jostling at the buffet, there was an ‘orderly’ delicious meal that was constantly being refilled Tried to get seats up on the deck (A) Bangkok at night! Great! Lots of wow impressions When 5 ships arrive, there are a lot of people who want a taxi We simply entered 150 B more in Grab and we had one That’s how the market economy works 😀 Great evening
