Great tour guide. Outstanding food. All Thailand flavors in a short time. There was no rush and a nice atmosphere. Perfect if you don’t have much time in Bangkok.

Our feasting tour of 15+ tastings invites guests on a culinary adventure around the backstreets of Bangkok. We're Bangkok's #1 food tour on TripAdvisor. Over 20,000 guests can't be wrong. Before we get started, our tour reflects the local cuisine and the limitations of street food vendors means we unfortunately cannot cater for every dietary restriction. Here's an honest appraisal for the tour so no-one is disappointed: ✘ Unsuitable for strict vegetarians, pescatarians and no-pork diets, due to limited alternatives at some vendors. ✘ Unsuitable for severe allergies, halal & celiac disease, due to risk of traces & cross-contamination. ✔ Suitable for lactose intolerances. Many are unaware of China's centuries-long influence on Thailand that has permeated much of Thai cuisine. From noodles to stir-fry, it's time to feast on the history of this culinary marriage. In small groups of up to 8 exclusive guests, our passionate foodie guides take you on a journey around the alleyways of Yaowarat, Bangkok's Chinatown. We don't want to spoil the surprises, but prepare to drool over crispy chive dumplings with nam jim jaew sauce, mop up rich satay with charcoal-grilled chicken, work chopsticks over slow-braised pork, and delve into fragrant steamy bowls of shrimp dumplings and poh taek seafood soup, along with a dozen more lip-smackingly good tastings at places you'd struggle to find alone.
The tour ends back at the start point, the Shanghai Mansion hotel, located along Yaowarat Road in all its neon glory. Enjoy local hospitality and meet new friends along the way. End the tour armed the knowledge you'll need to continue eating street food across Thailand.

Very well organised tour with easy to understand& helpful guides. Took us to places with authentic Thai food - delicious 😋
Excellent food tour. Warning: come hungry! A ton of good food and. Good food history. Despite the rain, we had a good time. Lots of samples.
Incredible good tour, all the dishes were fantastic ( we had 16) and the guides insightful, and fun.
Helped me understand Thai food and have the confidence to buy street food on my own in future
An absolutely fabulous experience. A really relaxed way to see Bangkok’s back streets in a relaxed, fun and totally safe way. Rainbow and Millet were a great team. Informative, exciting and really proud of sharing what Chinatown has to offer. Chive Pancakes, Mr Jok’s dumplings and the donuts were a highlight, but don’t worry if you don’t like those, there’s another 12 things to try! A must.
I would absolutely recommend this as a great way to check out multiple different Thai flavours and dishes. I’m a chef and my friend is a fussy eater, yet we both enjoyed the range of dishes . Salie our guide was brilliant - warm friendly and made the experience even more enjoyable.
A tour is only as good as its guide - and our guide, Ploy, was amazing. Super informative and friendly! As well as our ‘table fighter’, moving ahead of us to set a table at the following spot. Each one of the 15 items we tasted was delicious, and it’s emphasised to ask for more if you want, so you won’t be leaving hungry.
All of the food was amazing. Iould eat those BBQ prawns every day, but the guides took it to the next level. Nud was a weath of information and Louie stole the show! If you're considering booking this tour, do yourself a favor and just do it. The only downside to the whole thing i was still full the next morning and couldn't enjoy another thai breakfast.
The tour guides are very knowledgeable and made sure we left the tour full. They guided us safely across the bangkok streets giving us the full experience of the area. I highly recommend booking this experience.
A Chef’s Tour Bangkok was worth every penny! Rach was a great tour guide & so was his helper. I’m so happy I booked this tour!
This is the best way to experience Chinatown, especially if this is your first time. Rainbow and King had us experience truly the best bites throughout the area. If it’s your first couple days in the city, there’s no better way to try a ton of unique bites to figure out what you’ll be coming back for. Also this is such a great company to work with. I made a mistake and booked the incorrect day and the team was so understanding and helped me get everything sorted.
This is an outstanding tour! The tour guide is exceptional and the food is absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend this tour to others visiting Bangkok.
Sally and Lan(I believe that was his name) were great. She explained so much about the area and the food. My friend and I had a great time and the food was delicious. Definitely took us to some places we wouldn't have found on our own which is what we were looking for. My friend was hesitant about doing a food tour as she thought it would take us to touristy spots, but she was so glad we did it. I would recommend this to everyone.
This tour was well organized and we got to try 15 different foods. Our leader really explained what we ate and it was lots of fun.
Thoroughly enjoyed the food, walking the back streets of Chinatown, the expertise and friendliness of our guide and the company of interesting and friendly fellow travelers.
Was a really nice one! I can totally recommend!
This food tour was AMAZING! We had the opportunity to try 15 different foods, along with several drinks and fresh fruits. It was such a fun way to experience Thai cuisine and get a real taste of the local food scene. There was so much variety, and we got to try things we probably wouldn’t have ordered on our own! Our host, Ploy, was incredibly knowledgeable and did a fantastic job teaching us about Thai food, culture, and traditions. You could tell she was passionate about what she does, and I loved learning about the stories and cultural significance behind the different dishes. Arm was also an amazing host! He made sure everything ran smoothly by arranging tables for our group ahead of time and ensuring our food was ordered and ready when we arrived. There was little to no waiting, which made the entire experience feel organized and seamless. Both Ploy and Arm were attentive to everyone’s needs, helped keep things tidy, and made sure our group stayed together throughout the tour. Their teamwork and hospitality really made a difference! I highly recommend this food tour to anyone visiting Thailand! Not only do you get to try a wide variety of delicious local foods, but you also learn so much about Thai culture along the way. The experience was well organized, informative, and genuinely enjoyable from start to finish. A huge thank you to Ploy and Arm for making this such a memorable experience! I would absolutely do this tour again and recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, delicious, and authentic way to explore Thailand. Don’t hesitate to book this tour—you won’t regret it!
Fern was our guide who took us to great spots for street food in Bangkok. The food was delicious and plentiful. Come hungry! You won’t regret it
Excellent guide with fantastic variety of foods to try. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Bangkok.
Fantastic experience! Amazing food, super friendly and informative guides (Jonny and Muay) and met some awesome people too! Highly recommended as a real introduction to authentic Thai street food!
JT and Mikey were fabulous leaders and worked well together: so much delicious food a different tastings and education along the way ! Would recommend
Without exaggeration, every single dish on this tour (there are 16 in 5 or 6 stops) is the best thing you’ve ever tasted in your life. There is zero way to improve on this experience. You couldn’t swap out a single dish for a different version, and all 6 ppl on the tour had a different “favorite.” There’s a massive amount of food, and I could only manage 1 or 2 bites of each one, but I would wish I could repeat each of them… slowly! Johnny and Muay were our awesome guides - you’ll be lucky if you get them!
This experience was AWESOME! Highly, highly recommend. After reading so much about how to stay healthy eating street food I would have been overwhelmed trying to decide what to eat in Chinatown. Nora, our guide, made diving into the best food in Chinatown easy. She knew so much about the food and the places we went to. Who know Michelin rated food could be found here! Her co-worked went ahead and pre-ordered and found seating for us to keep the tour running smoothly. We tried more than 15 items and could eat as much as we liked. This tour was a highlight of our stay in Bangkok. Would do it again in heartbeat.
*** An absolutely fantastic tour! 🍜 At 15 different food stops, you get to discover Bangkok’s street food scene, including local food stalls you might never have tried as a tourist. And these aren’t just any street food stalls – some have passed down their recipes and culinary skills through more than three generations. Over three hours of an incredible guided food experience, with every single dish an absolute delight. Together, they offer a fantastic cross-section of Thailand’s already amazing cuisine. I’d have to say this was the best Bangkok experience I’ve ever had. An absolute must-do! Thank you so much for this unforgettable experience! 🙏
Jace was an insightful guide, he shared a lot of history of the areas we visited and had excellent conversations throughout the night.
Annie was a wonderful guide! Great energy & enthusiasm, lots of good information about Thai food and culture, was very attentive to everyone in the group (of 8 people). We tried 15 selected foods and they were all delicious! The pacing was good so I could eat everything without being too full by the end. I loved supporting the local businesses as well.
This was an amazing experience. I really enjoyed tasting all of the different types of food from Thailand. My absolute favorite was the soup with the rice noodles in it. And the mango sticky rice. The tour guides were excellent
Annie and Pipi were amazing tour guides. They were so kind to take us around to try all the different foods. Annie has so much energy, and knowledge and made the whole tour so much fun. Annie memory of everyone’s name , And travel destinations was remarkable. We all enjoyed being together and we had lots of laughs. PIpi was so attentive and ensuring that we all had seats , water and ways to clean our hands after eating so much yummy food. They even helped coordinate a ride back to our hotel.
This is an excellent approximately 4 hour walking and eating tour through the backstreet stalls the locals use. Great food & a very enjoyable experience. Come on an empty stomach because there is a lot of eating to do!
Wonderful experience - Rainbow, Millet+Muay were excellent guides/hosts. It was like being taken care of and shown local food gems by family/friends. Food was delicious and plentiful - very thoughtfully planned out route and mix of thai, chinese, thainese food. Learned a lot from Rainbow about the cuisine and culture. Cannot say enough about how well they took care of us! Highly recommend this tour
JT was an awesome guide. He was very knowledgeable about the food and history of the vendors. He was also very charismatic. I certainly wouldn't have found any of those places without the tour and I get the feeling that I would never have gotten to actually try any of the food at some of them even if I did know, just because they're in-demand
JT and Mikey were very professional and added an exceptional view of Bangkok backstreet. Food was awesome. An awesome experience. I would highly recommend this experience. Many Thanks
This tour was excellent. Our tour guide misi (?) and assistant Pepe was extremely helpful. Our guide provided many insights into Chinatown and the various food we were sampling. It was very informative. At the end of the tour they made sure we had transportation back to our hotel. It was a very good experience.
Food, vibes, and experience were a 10/10. Pang and Arm were the best guides we’ve ever had for a food tour and we have done a lot of food tours and this was the best. Couldn’t recommend enough!
Excellent! Som and Pepe were super. Som was extremely knowledgeable about each stop. She educated us about the food and each establishment, and clearly had a strong rapport with each vendor. Pepe made sure each stop was ready for us and at the end was invaluable in helping us get our Grab to go home. We had never done a Viator food tour before - highly recommend!
Such a great tour. Our guide, Bew, was so knowledgeable and personable. Food was unbelievable and such a variety of food. Highly recommend. You will be full by the end!
Wow. What a wonderful tour of Chinatown and the fusion food of Chinese and Thai. The guide Annie, was amazing. Very knowledgeable about food and history.
We absolutely loved this. We tried so many delicious foods and our guide was really friendly and informative. Would recommend as a great way to explore the local food and fabulous experience.
Our guide Ant was great - experienced, funny and creating a good group chemistry including the kids. Luis, her assistant, also helped a lot - lovely, funny guy. The food was yummy and even better with interessting background stories.
The literal best food tour and guide!
The Bangkok Food Tour with Johnny was a wonderful experience. Johnny’s enthusiasm is infectious and his love for Thai cuisine is genuine. The food choices were excellent; there was not one dud in the whole evening of food. I would highly recommend this tour when Johnny is leading it. A ton of fun and great eats!
We had a great night with amazing food and a super engaged and friendly guide. It was easy to find the meeting place and to make the reservation online. I can highly recommend this tour, and I especially enjoyed the fusion of Thai and Chinese cuisine we had.
Ant and mister Louie were sublime guides. So patient and professional. We were walking with Ant, and Louie was always one step ahead preparing the tables for us. We tasted awesome food and we really appreciated the information about the food culture in Bangkok. I recommend this food tasting wholeheartedly to everyone!
The best food tour in Bangkok. Had the greatest time with our guide, Peng. There was no waiting fime on each food stop, food was almost instantly served on time because of our lovely runner.
Amazing experience! Highly recommend. Noah and Oam our guides were so knowledgeable about the food scene in Bangkok china town. Great variety, Michelin star rated and other hidden gems. I could have never scouted out the these places on my own. Come hungry! So much food. Excellent service and experience.
The experience exceeded our expectations and both Annie and Armi were both fantastic guides for our group of 11 ladies and kept us engaged throughout the tour. Would absolutely recommend A Chef’s Tour if you’re ever in Bangkok!
Awesome food with supernice guides. The food was hiqh quality and the background infos were really interesting and helpful for the future if you wanna snack you thru Thailand 😁. Were really excited to try different tours at different locations with them in the future!
I always attend a food tour when I travel to a new place. This is the best one ever! Johnny was a terrific guide, full of information, friendly, and funny. The tour was efficient without much waiting around. The second guide runs ahead to each stop to ensure that everything is ready when you get there. The foods were fabulous and we got a wide variety. I only wish we had a map to get back to the places we visited.
Some great food, and Johnny our guide was very knowledgeable, full of energy and funny. We went during a Chinese vegetarian food festival which was intense! Highly recommended!
