Bamboo Bicycle Tour In Twilight: Watch Dancing Fireflies In Bangkok

We had an amazing time on the Twilight Firefly tour with Bamboo Bike in Bangkok last Saturday! There were just three of us, with no other guests joining, which made the experience feel extra special. Our guide, Sugar, was fantastic. His great sense of humour made the whole tour even more enjoyable, and we shared plenty of laughs along the way. He was accompanied by someone who helped with the tour. The cycling route was so much fun, and the food was delicious. The boat trip to see the fireflies was a magical way to end the evening and an absolute highlight of the tour. Thank you, Sugar, for such a wonderful experience! We would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Bangkok.

A lovely experience with lovely people - And and King were caring, thoughtful and fun as our guides. The "exhilarating" cycle on elevated pathways led to a fish feeding frenzy, an outstanding homemade local dinner on the river bank and a sparkly experience with the fireflies on the river. The surreal experience of cycling through dense jungle in the middle of Bangkok is well worth it.

We did not go in knowing what to expect and ended up having a great time. The highlight was the firefly's, but unexpected was all the food and local drink along the way.

Sugar was an exceptional guide. He was very knowledgeable, fun and truly thought of every detail to make the trip so enjoyable. He carefully adjusted each bike for comfort and was flexible with the different skill levels of the riders. At the first stop, he bought us a coconut drink and picked up some fish food for our next stop to feed the fish in the lake. He kept us on target for timing without making us feel rushed and shared many stories and cultural stories. He was incredibly prepared bringing out hand sanitizer and bug spray for us The meal was delicious. Some of the best chicken coconut soup I’ve had all trip and the boat ride to the fireflies was magical. I can’t recommend this tour and our guide Sugar enough. You won’t regret it

My wife and I just got back from the Twilight Firefly Bangkok Bicycle Trip, and it was honestly one of the highlights of our time in Bangkok. The experience starts with a boat ride to a lush green island just across the city, but it feels like stepping into an entirely different world — peaceful, slow-paced, and full of nature. The cycling route takes you through beautiful greenery and a lovely nature reserve, with plenty of fun little breaks along the way. We stopped for delicious sticky rice and mango, fed fishes for some “good karma,” and soaked in the charm of island life. A huge shoutout to our fantastic guide, Mr. Sugar, whose energy, warmth, and knowledge made the experience extra special. He and his colleague kept the evening fun, engaging, and relaxed throughout. The ride ended with a lovely home-cooked dinner by the river, which was the perfect way to wind down. But the real magic came after dinner — we hopped onto a long-tail boat and cruised through the river in the dark while fireflies lit up the trees around us. Absolutely beautiful and something we’ll remember for a long time. Highly recommended if you want to experience a completely different side of Bangkok!

Woah what a fantastic experience!! I signed up to this for the fireflies but there was so much more to it that I really enjoyed! We crossed the river by private boat, collected bikes, then enjoyed a fun ride along raised paths through beautiful jungle and gardens. We were given samples of beautiful fruit, herbs and flowers growing in the garden which was a lovely touch! Riding through the park was also fun, as was feeding the fish and visiting an observation deck. Riding on the island feels safe and comfortable, and the bikes are in great condition. Dinner was fantastic, some of the best food Ive had in Thailand and plenty of it! Then going out on the water to see the fireflies was magical - we were lucky enough to have perfect weather for seeing them. Thank you for making this experience so fun, interesting and informative, I would absolutely do this again!

This was a fantastic excursion! We were provided private transport from Bangkok to the island via boat and were then greeted with our bikes and taken into the jungle. Our hosts took time to show us edible plants and gardening, the giant catfish in the park, and a bird observatory tower with a fun photoshoot. We were then treated to a home cooked meal on a private terrace overlooking the river before heading out to see fireflies make trees look like Christmas decorations! It was great to combine an active bike ride with education about the island. I think my favorite part was feeling like I was so far from Bangkok when I was just across the river. I recommend this tour to anyone!

A fantastic sunset ride around the island and through the jungle followed by a home cooked meal and a trip on the water to see the beautiful fireflies light up the trees and come and say hello to us on the boat. It was a truly gorgeous experience and escape from the city hustle with fantastic guides. I will say that for the first half of the bike tour the bike path through the tropical greenery is narrow with a nasty fall if you don't pay attention. Not for timid cyclists! But the whole experience was well worth the money. Thank you!

As a family with two children (6 & 8 years old), we had a wonderful and exciting experience that made our stay in Bangkok a little different. Highly recommended.

My friend and I had a wonderful time on the twilight bicycle tour. I didn't expect it to be so lush and green. The team were warm, friendly and helpful. We especially loved seeing fireflies for the first time, and the delicious meal we had. Well worth it to have several different experiences in one evening. I would recommend this tour whether you are spending a few weeks in Bangkok or just a couple of days.

This was a really nice, relaxing excursion that felt like it was a lot farther away from the chaos of Bangkok, than it actually is. Tour operators/guides were accommodating and friendly, enduring everyone in the group was comfortable. Ride through the village/park was easy and interesting. Dinner was excellent, and the boat ride afterward offered not only lovely sighting of fireflies in the trees but also views of the city in the distance. Really nice escape from the usual sight-seeing, museum, "sites" tours when you need a little break. : ) Very much recommend!

An absolute gem of a tour through a part of close-by Bangkok that you would otherwise never see! Our guides, Sugar and Mr Pee, went above and beyond to ensure our trip was memorable in every way. We won’t soon forget Sugar’s infectious laugh. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Nice bike ride. The area is so close to Bangkok, but so different. Also watching the fire flies was a unique experience. The guide was very vibrant and really made sure we were all having a good time.

Aod and King were so sweet and took great care of us. It was amazing to see such a vastly different world right in the middle of the city! They truly have us a local experience from the bike ride to dinner at one of their friends, which was delicious. The weather turned out perfectly, and the fireflies were amazing to see! The boat driver got us really close and we even got to hold the fireflies. We even saw some bats. Highly recommend!

The bicycle trio was excellent for family and getting to the forest and local household to see a different side of Bangkok. We had a great time and our guide and wife were so friendly. We manage to see the fireflies around the coast which is priceless experience for kids who live in city

To be honest I booked this tour in spite of the bicycle riding, not because of it. My daughter and I can ride, but rarely do and I was a bit nervous especially with the heat. I took the chance, I'm glad I did. The island is lovely and feels a world away from the bustling city instead of just a river crossing away. Was it hot? Oh yes, I sweat all over myself, but while we were biking there was at least a nice breeze. The paths were level and from that perspective suitable for novice riders, but there were a lot of narrow, about meter wide sections of elevated path over water and jungle that felt quite technical and difficult for me. But we made it, it was beautiful, the meal on the river was so delicious, followed up by the prize of the night, the boat trip to see the fireflies! We were lucky and had a great night for them, there were so many! And we also saw giant bats! It was truly a once in a lifetime experience that I don't regret at all despite the heat and the difficulty I had with some of the biking. I recommend this experience enthusiastically if you think you even might be able to do it. The guides are a husband and wife team and they work very hard to give a great experience! It was magical.

The tour was very excellent! We enjoyed a lot of cycling in the forest just in the island in front of Bangkok. After we had a very nice Thai dinner in a restaurant facing the Chao Praya river. After the dinner we went with a small boat to see the dancing fireflies, what a show! Thank you to our guide EOD for his competence and passion . We will sure come back for this experience!

A wonderful evening. The group was small, and Aod, the tour guide, and his wife were friendly and attentive. The beginning was an unforgettable experience for me: I saw a kingfisher, then a small crocodile while feeding fish at a beautiful lake. And then, after a hot day, we saw a squirrel in a small jungle in Bangkok. Cycling on such narrow paths was sometimes dangerous. You had to be very careful. The boat rides with beautiful views of Bangkok and the flickering fireflies were impressive. The surprise at the end was the homemade dinner. They asked us individually what we would like. Everything was very authentic and prepared with love, with a beautiful, romantic view. They took such good care of us during the tour. Grateful and tired, we returned home and fell asleep sweetly. Thank you again.

What a magical experience with Aod on the evening cycle tour. A peaceful and tranquil time of the day to see the island and its wildlife. A windy night on the river, but successfully caught sight of the fireflies. Oh, and the food was delicious too!

The bamboo bicycle tour was really enjoyable and we would definitely recommend it. Sugar the guide was extremely friendly and an excellent host. It was nice to escape from the busy city for the evening and see a less seen side of Bangkok. Nothing on the tour was too strenuous and it's suitable for all ages. Make sure you leave enough time to make the meeting point as the Bangkok evening traffic is always at a standstill!

Everything was carefully planned and curated to ensure comfort and care. Enjoyed the firefly experience the most. Not only did we find many firefly clusters, we also had first hand experience having these beautiful creatures on our hands - this is a first for me. The tour from start to end was very well put together. Our Guide, Sugar, was very friendly and knowledgable about the areas we were touring. It was very exciting to see and hold real fireflies. Also to see the colonies of wolf bats. The meal served after the tour was one of the best I’ve had in Thailand. Do not hesitate to book this tour!

Great way to spend an evening in Bangkok. I booked a few hours before on the date of this bicycle tour. It was only 30-45 min ride from the hotel in Asoke. It was easy get away from city of Bangkok. The local tour guides, restaurant staff, and boatman, museum owner were very friendly and nice. You can expect memorable sunset, beautiful fireflies, delicious dinner, and warm welcome by everyone in this tour. Highly recommended for people who wants to relax in nature right in Bangkok.

Well what can I say, we had an absolutely wonderful time and Sugar (our tour guide) could not have done anymore for us. He was so kind, generous and friendly. He was so conscientious, as I’m not a very confident cyclist, and kept looking out for me and checking we were all ok. For anyone worried, this tour is on a very quiet and secluded island in Bangkok which has very few other vehicles, so is perfect for a not too confident cyclist (like myself). I can’t recommend this tour enough, and whatever Sugar is getting paid is not enough, as he truly went above and beyond to fulfil all of our needs. We didn’t just get treated to fireflies either, also seeing various birds and some flying foxes. After going on roughly a dozen other tours around Thailand, this one was my personal favourite, I would recommend it to anyone as an essential experience while in Bangkok and hopefully you’ll get Sugar as your guide! Once again, thank you Sugar!!!

This tour really showed a different side to the bustling city of Bangkok. The fireflies were very pretty and dinner was delicious. There was so much food and as a pescatarian I very very well taken care of. Aid was a knowledable guide who ensured we all got some great photos and pointed out other wildlife along the tour.

This was an amazing trip. Aod and his lovely wife took us on a fantastic ride around a little island in Bangkok. We had a superb meal on the riverfront and then a lovely boat ride to see fireflies. Highly recommended. I was a little under the weather with cold and struggled. I felt so bad I couldn't each much of the wonderful meal they had cooked for us. This really is a must and something different to see a different side of BKK.

Truly special tour. Just across the river from the big city and into a leisurely picturesque bikeway park. From the bike ride to the feed g fish, onto an incredible dinner before you board a river boat to witness fireflies light up the night, Mr. Sugar made this trip special!

Our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the area, especially where to find fireflies. On top of that, we saw local bird species, fed the fish and checked out large iguana-looking lizards from a safe distance. The homecooked dinner was one of the best Thai meals we've had during our time there too.
