Excellent service! They explain each temple in detail and provide very interesting and helpful information. They also take you to a restaurant with delicious food. 100% recommended! Entrance fees and meals are included in the price. Mindy is an amazing tour guide, and so is Mr. Diamond! Highly recommended!

Itinerary
Travel from Bangkok in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle to your first stop in Ayutthaya, Wat Lokayasutha. This incredible temple is known for its giant reclining Buddha image, astoundingly one of the few structures left intact here.
Your next stop is Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, being part of the royal palace complex this is where royalty performed rituals. It is considered the most important temple of Ayutthaya.
Then, visit Wat Mahathat Ayutthaya. One of the oldest and most significant temples in the history of Ayutthaya, it once housed the Buddha's holy relic. Admire the famous Buddha head entwined within the roots of a Bodhi tree.
Last but not least, finish your trip at the grand, riverside Wat Chaiwattanaram. Marvel at its compelling architectural style, influenced by the Angkor Wat complex in Cambodia, as you wander around the monumental grounds.

Our friendly guide, Jokey, was very knowledgeable about the temples we visted and very enthousiastic! He also took lots of good pictures of us as memory for later! Driver was always ready to give us a free bottle of cold water when we came back from the temples. Really worth the little bit of extra money for lunch, free water, hotel pick-up,.. to have no worries during this trip!
Very nice tour and good guide (Jokey), he was happy to take many pictures of us. They gave uw 2 bottles of nice cold water per person which was really nice. The History of the temple was well explained and really interesting.
Fun, informative, and interactive experience. Got to see all the must-see spots in a reasonable time. Transportation was comfortable with ac. Tour guide (Sam) was friendly, humorous, and spoke loud and clearly. Organization was great, very accommodating. Really enjoyed the tour.
We had a great time on this tour! Sam is an excellent guide. This tour is well timed and well planned! The AC on the bus was also super nice, and the lunch was delicious as well.
Perfect tour to visit Ayutthaya and Mindy (our guide) was very nice and shared a lot of information about the temples with us.
Mindi, is great, good organized and an open and interesting person.
Mindy was a very knowledgeable and kind guide. The tour and the lunch was very good.
Great value. Perfect day trip from Bangkok. Included lunch buffet was delicious. Tour guide BoBo did an amazing job
We really appreciated our tour with Jokey and the driver. They are amazing doing their jobs. We strongly recommend Jokey and Bigcountry,
Our guide Jockey did a great job! Very knowlegable and funny. We had a great time. Pick up was very comfortable and the historic sites were stunning. Very good value for the money.
Jokey is a great guide very knowledgeable and expert. He made the experience super enjoyable explaining tge Thai history in simple and straightforward ways. The time for the visit was the right balance between commute and sightseeing. Food was also very good! Strongly recommend!
The trip was a great experience. Our guide, Jokey, connected the temples’ architecture to the history of the place, which made the visit even better. He made sure we never felt rushed, and after each explanation, we had time to explore the temples on our own. Lunch was delicious, too, with a vast spread.
My family absolutely loved this tour. Our tour guide Mindy was so knowledgeable about all the questions we had. I would 1000000/10 recommend if you enjoy knowledge and history. If in Thailand again I will be booking again
We were going to take the train and go around by ourselves. We are so glad we didn’t. We picked this tour and it was so easy. The temples are more spread out than we anticipated so it was nice to have an air conditioned van to pop in and out of. I know we would not have gotten such a complete understanding of the area without our guide Pat. She was so knowledgeable about the history, always showing us what we were looking at in detail. She happily and easily answered all our questions. The lunch that is provided is a good sized buffet. Make sure you try the dessert which looks like an egg roll but is a sweet dessert from this community. It’s very yummy. Pat even bought some for us to make on our way home. We were picked up and dropped off right by our hotel which was so easy. The van was luxurious and so clean, easy to get in and out of. The driver was excellent, able to get us through all the traffic easily. He even gave us all cold water during the tour. All in all this is an easy way to really learn about the area. It’s quite hot and humid here so it was nice to always have the van to get back in. It was fun to have a guide that was excited to show us these beautiful sites and to give us time to take photos and walk around.
This tour organized by big country was great. Our guide took times to give us facts about the history during our way to these temples. A lot of valuable knowledge. Discovering is about learning the culture and its history as well. It’s what make us who we are. A must do, if you want to get a little deeper on knowing this beautiful country. Thanks again to Mendy who did her best to make this tour more appealing.
I had the BEST day with Super Boy and Virach! They were great tour guide and driver. Virach was so helpful helping me on and off the van and Super Boy was full of information and knowledge!! He explained everything so well. Lunch was a lovely little buffet in a nice clean, air conditioned restaurant. I highly recommend this tour to add to you Thailand experiences!!
Excellent tour. Sam was a great guide. Highly recommend this tour. Very incite full and informative.
Super boy is very knowledgable about the history of Ayuthayya Great experience!
We had a wonderful day exploring the temples of Ayutthaya with our great guide, AJ! He was very knowledgeable, friendly, and made the history and culture come alive. Despite the torrential rain at times, the timing somehow always seemed to work out perfectly for us! A fascinating and memorable experience. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Highly recommend AJ!
The guide Jokey was extremely kind and happy to answer all our questions. The tour was well organized!
🇹🇭 AYUTTHAYA DAY TOUR FROM BANGKOK — TEMPLES, HISTORY & THAI CULTURE After visiting Thailand multiple times over the years, there are still plenty of places and pieces of Thai history I haven’t experienced. This time, we decided to take a full-day tour from Bangkok to the ancient city of Ayutthaya. Our day started with pickup at our hotel and transportation to the tour meeting point near Chatuchak in Bangkok. From there, we joined a group of about 30 people on a bus with our driver and English-speaking Thai guide, AJ. 🚌 OFF TO AYUTTHAYA The drive took about 90 minutes, with one stop along the way for drinks and a toilet break. Our itinerary included four major historical sites: 🏯 Wat Mahathat 🏯 Wat Phra Sri Sanphet 🏯 Wat Chaiwatthanaram 🛕 Wat Lokayasutharam — Temple of the Reclining Buddha FIRST STOP — WAT MAHATHAT Wat Mahathat is one of the oldest and most historically significant temples in Ayutthaya and once housed sacred Buddha relics. This is also where you'll find one of the most famous images associated with Ayutthaya — the Buddha head surrounded by the roots of a Bodhi tree. It’s something I had seen many times in photographs, so seeing it in person was definitely one of the highlights of the day. SECOND STOP — WAT PHRA SRI SANPHET Wat Phra Sri Sanphet was part of the royal palace complex and was used by Thai royalty for important ceremonies and rituals. It is considered one of the most important temples in the old capital and gives you a much better understanding of just how important Ayutthaya once was. THIRD STOP — WAT CHAIWATTHANARAM This was another impressive complex. The architecture shows influences associated with Khmer design, and walking around the grounds gives you a good idea of the scale and grandeur of Ayutthaya hundreds of years ago. 🍜 LUNCH BREAK Lunch was included at a tour restaurant and consisted of a buffet of Thai dishes. Simple, not spicy, and nothing particularly memorable, but there was enough variety to satisfy everyone. It did the job. FINAL STOP — WAT LOKAYASUTHARAM Our last temple visit was Wat Lokayasutharam, famous for its enormous reclining Buddha. The giant Buddha image is one of the few major structures remaining at the site and makes for an impressive final stop before heading back to Bangkok. 🚌 Afterward, we made the approximately 90-minute drive back and were dropped off at the MBK shopping complex. ⭐ OUR GUIDE AJ AJ did an excellent job throughout the day. He made a real effort to explain Thailand's history, including how the country's centers of power and capitals changed over the centuries before modern-day Bangkok became the capital. At every stop, he explained the history and significance of what we were seeing. There weren't many questions from the group because, quite frankly, AJ had already covered most of them! MY CONCLUSION Even after visiting Thailand multiple times, this tour filled in a lot of gaps in my knowledge about Ayutthaya. Seeing these ruins in person helped me better understand the wars that devastated the old capital and the damage and looting that occurred at many of these sites over the centuries. You see row after row of Buddha statues that have lost their heads, ruined temples, and remnants of what was once one of the great cities of Southeast Asia. 💰 The price included: • Transportation from Bangkok • English-speaking guide • Admission to all the temple sites • Buffet lunch • One bottle of water • Insurance For an entire day out, I thought the price was reasonable. Would I call Ayutthaya an absolute must-do on your first trip to Bangkok? Probably not. I'd put it more in the "nice to do" category, especially if you're interested in history, temples, architecture, or Thai culture. And having a knowledgeable guide like AJ makes a big difference. Instead of simply walking around looking at ancient ruins, you actually learn the stories behind what you're seeing. Another piece of Thailand's history checked off my list. 🇹🇭
Our guide Sam was 100% fantastic! He was very knowledgeable and a great speaker. I always made sure each one of us were accommodated and felt safe and well. I had a small issue with my schedule and he made sure I was taken care of. Just a wonderful person and great employee. I felt safe with our driver too. I actually returned with a different group from Japan and the second guide & driver were wonderful as well. I will 100% recommend this group to my friends & coworkers!!!
The tour was very good, but sometimes I wanted a little bit more information. The guide was very helpful. It would had been good for a more detailed description of where the pickup was. If you haven't been to the River city, it's not easy to know in advance where the meeting point is, but it was very easy to find when arriving there
This was a great excursion. The guide Jokey was very knowledgeable and friendly. He was very detailed and explained each step of the day. Bring an umbrella and/or a hat to protect yourself from the sun.
Great experience. Value for money. Length of visit is just nice, not too long and not rushed. Sam is attentive tour guide who provides options for tourists with different level of fitness. He also provides detailed explanation which are not lengthy, giving us sufficient time to explore the places on our own. Great guide! Great experience! Strongly recommend.
Overall a worthwhile experience. We’ve done a number of tours offered through Viator in various countries and they’ve always been an excellent experience. This tour visited multiple temple sites and the time at each was plenty. Each site visit included a brief history of the location and ample free time to wander around and snap photos. Our tour guides English was not perfect, but very understandable. The information provided about the sites was interesting and the sites themselves amazing to see. Each brought a little something different. Lunch was OK. We splurged for the extra river prawn option which was an additional 500 baht/person It wasn’t clear that we could still indulge in some of the buffet items, so in the end there was nothing on our plates aside from the grilled prawn and a dipping sauce. I’d hold off on that. A couple of cold water bottles were provided during the tour. Those were well needed. Even though we came from Bangkok, only an hour away, the weather was drastically different. It was HOT and sunny. There are plenty of opportunities for restroom breaks. Some are free, others charge a 5 baht service fee plus there’s an extra charge for paper. Things you should bring: Comfortable walking shoes, an insulated water bottle, sun screen, a hat or shade umbrella, and some toilet paper, or better yet wet wipes. Enjoy the tour.
Good expeeience, but the same kind of temples.
Really fun and interesting. Our guide Jokey was so nice. 100% recommended.
Jokey was very knowledgeable & polite. 100% recommend this tour!
It was a great time and boy did a great job informing us about the local history of the temples. It was a lot to take in. The day was long. I didn't know like not being dropped back to hotel
Fantastic tour! Sam was an excellent guide and everything was so organized. Highly recommend.
It was really interesting and Mindy is really funny and knows a lot and take care of everybody!
The whole experience was enhanced by the travel guide (Jokey), was very knowledgeable and answered all questions asked Would recommend
Sam our guide was amazing. Super informative about both the temples and also what was around all of them and just the overall history.
Great value for money and delicious lunch. Our guide AJ was very informed & knowledgeable and made the tour very interesting. Superb day all round.
Super boy was very informational. He knows the history well and kept things lively and interesting!!!
Mindy is the best! Thank you very much for this day
The tour itself was great and informative. Nice Thai buffet lunch and an option for vegetarians. We visited four temples and they were all wonderful. Only the feedback is that since all four temple visits were very similar, many of the group members wanted to go back to the bus before the meeting time. Also the heat may have impacted. We wished if there were some kind of hands-on activity of making something having coconut drink so that the entire experience is not redundant and worth the fee. The guide, Mindy, was great and caring!
We really enjoyed our Ayutthaya trip! AJ was a great guide and did an excellent job explaining Thai history and culture throughout the tour. He was very knowledgeable and made the experience interesting for the whole family. The buffet lunch was also good and everyone in our family enjoyed it. Overall, it was a fun and worthwhile day trip from Bangkok. We’re glad we booked this tour and would definitely recommend it!
Absolutely amazing guide Super Boye was great. He’s been giving tours for over 30 years! Driver was great too, punctual, passes out cold water bottles, and always had coach nice and cool. Super Boye explained each sight and then provided time to self tour. Lunch was a Thai buffet with the option to purchase the famous prawn and local beers as well as soft drinks. I highly recommend as this sight is not as easy to reach via public transportation. I understand there is a train but having such an experienced guide is the way to go at these historical sights!! Tip, a driver may show up at your hotel one hour earlier to transport you to the location where the bus is waiting. My driver did not speak English, but met me in the lobby and guided me to the tour bus pickup line / location. Easy and fun!
This is an informative and enjoyable tour. What a unique experience, being able to view antiquities in the comfort of a well- organised and knowledgeable host and her team. My only suggestion would be to do a little research prior to the trip: what to bring, wear, how far the pick up place is from your accommodation. I was staying quite a distance from the pick- up point; however the entire team ensured I was looked after. I appreciated their kindness.
Great tour! Our guide "Super Boye" made the tour very special as he is very knowledgeable about everything:)
The guide provided amazing history old and new of Thailand. A very educational with a touch of humour. The care, service and friendliness was top.
AJ was an amazing tour guide, and extremely accommodating. He was knowledgeable and patient especially since the group was a little big
The tour was led by Sam who was a wonderful guide. The bus was cool and comfortable and the lunch was good. Great way to the historic sites outside of the city.
