This was an excellent excursion! My family and I really enjoyed the temples and the boat ride back was so scenic and fun! The food was wonderful and there was more than enough for everyone. Our guide, First, did a great job!

This was a superb tour led by a truly outstanding tour guide, Donna. The historical sites we visited were amazing, and were enhanced by Donna’s narrative. The culminating river cruise was excellent as was the buffet lunch on board.
Amazing experience with Donna . Good food for people who eat non veg , and great relaxation time on cruise after much walkiing at Ayuthaya
Great transfere to the ruins and you get to spend a nice amount of time there and learn the history. The boat portion was ok. The food is buffet style with nothing really that good. The boat trip down the river is pretty long and some pretty views.
Great sites to see, great tour guide! Thanks Donna Brilliant bus driver and relaxing cruise back with plenty of tasty food. Thanks for a great day!
We enjoyed our tour with our guide Donna very much. Lunch in the boat was a little disappointing. Our group of six arrived. There were many people already in the boat eating lunch. Many of the items were cold. And one item never got replaced. We did enjoy the ride back on the boat.
The tour guide was nice. The coach driver was good. The guide had plenty of information to tell us about the different places we stopped, but it didn't give us too much time to explore, etc..So we felt a little rushed at times to get back to the bus. Overall it was nice though. The lunch cruise back to Bangkok was nice too with good foods.
Our guide Donna was excellent. She is funny and engaging, while also explaining the details of what we were going to see. The best thing I liked about this trip was that everything is very punctual. The tour started on the dot on time, and we were back in the hotel on time. Ayuthaya is beautiful - and while the tour doesnt stop at every single place, it does stop at all the key highlights - the Wat Mahathat , the Main palace & the sleeping Buddha. The highlight of the trip is clearly the cruise back from Ayuthaya to Bangkok. The food on board is fantastic (you have vegetarian options as well for those who need it) and you get to see some very beautiful sights along the river. This tour is highly recommended for couples who need a structured trip, and for families with children.
Our guide Donna knew so much about Ayutthaya and gave good advice all day. The boat ride back to Bangkok was actually a river cruise on a nice boat with an elaborate buffet. I was pleasantly surprised by that. We had a great day.
The tour was cancelled within the 24hr cancellation period and they tried to make us cancel it to avoid paying for it. Had to contact Tripadvisor to get a refund. This was very poor and disappointing.
This tour should be at the top of everyone's list. Extremely enjoyed this tour, plus we had a great guide Beer. He was very knowledgeable and explained the history of Ayutthaya in detail at every stop. Ample time was given for each attraction and plenty of photos were taken. The boat trip back was excellent and great food too
Great tour! We did feel a little rushed at some of the stops, but the guide was great at keeping us on schedule. Really enjoyed the leisurely boat ride back into Bangkok. Suggest not picking up until 7 so everyone can grab their hotel breakfast - there was no reason to wait for more than 90 mins at the bus stop for the tour to start. Also, a heads up either in the tour description or in the hotel pick up confirmation regarding the dress code required for some of the stops would be appropriate.
Tour guide is super infomative and fun! Schedule is on time, everything went smoothly. Ayutthaya is so interesting and very beautiful! and with our tour guide we get to know more about the history. The trip also included the lunch on board the boat and that was for us the best part of the day. I would recommend people to try this!
wonderful day and loved our guide. My only complaint is that i would skip the Summer Palace, or shorten it up greatly in order to give more time at Wat Maha That. far too short there.. very rushed and the guide didn't have the time to fully describe.. This to me was the most important stop of the day and it was one of the shorter stops... Think the explanation should be clearer as to how long you are on the ship (which i loved by the way) but i know some were disappointed...
We took this tour, it was amazing! The tour guide knew great English was very informative and explained each ruin/temple and all the history. I highly recommend this trip. We took a trip the next day as well using a service advertised on the street (for an elephant tour). They picked my wife and me up (individually) on a Vespa, and the rest of the days production wasn’t better. Zero information about where we were going next was put out, we were just corralled into the can to the next stop. One guy even canceled the rest of his 2 day tour to come back after 1 day. All that to say, the trip was great through this service! Be weary of street advertised tours.
Anyone expecting a full day tour, prepare to be disappointed. Firstly, we were notified the evening before the trip that river cruise return to Bangkok was not possible, and after bus back there was a lunch cruise in Bangkok only. We accept that it was out of the control of the operators but apologies or compensation was lacking. This was our last day in Bangkok so rescheduling was not possible. However, excited to see the many wonderful sights in Ayatthaya we embarked on the tour with an open mind and expectations of a wonderful day out. Unfortunately the tour didn't even come close to expectations as a day out actually was only half a day. We only stopped at 4 places, the temple area with Buddha's head in the tree roots, an area with a large Buddha laying down (free entry), a small but beautiful temple (free entry), and the Royal families Summer Palace. It really did seem that we spent more time on the bus than viewing interesting and beautiful places. An evening cruise can be beautiful when the city is lit up after nightfall, but a day cruise is very disappointing. Overall, this tour is poor value, badly planned and lacking in sightseeing experiences. The tour guide was a lovely gentlemen but his English accent was difficult to understand sometimes. Personally I feel it would have been better to spend the money on renting a car and visiting more wonderful places in the historic Ayatthaya area and then enjoyed an night cruise in Bangkok. Except for the Summer Palace, time allowed at the first was brief averaging about 20mins at each location. This was a little rushed for 2 of the locations. 1hr at the Summer Palace proved to be long considering only one building was hosting a museum, and everything else was only viewable from exterior.
Picked up spot on time. Good transport and very good guide. Big disappointment was not being able to take the boat directly back from Ayutthaya to Bangkok due to Royal Barge Procession rehearsals and Navy had blocked river. However this was NOT tour company fault. Instead we drove back to Bangkok and did a two hour river tour which was quite boring. Lunch on board however was excellent. Would recommend and maybe do again this time with proper boat ride.
We had an excellent time on our full day Ayutthaya excursion with I Asia Thailand. We were picked up from our hotel and shuttled to an air conditioned and comfortable motor coach that took us to Ayutthaya from Bangkok. On the way, our guide Lek who spoke English very well, told us about different historical and cultural Thai facts. We first stopped the Summer Palace and spent a good amount of time there. About half the time was spent with our guide and then we had some time to walk around by ourselves. The guide and her information was excellent. From there, we went to the ruins of Ayutthaya. We saw the face of the Buddha in the tree which was amazing and were guided around the ruins and told the stories of what happened back in history that lead to the capital of Thailand to be moved to Bangkok. Next, we went to see a beautiful golden Buddha inside the temple. From there, we bussed to another temple where the longest reclining Buddha in Thailand is located and it was really stunning and we took many pictures. We then went to our boat where we enjoyed a wonderful ride down the Chao Phraya River and had a great Thai buffet lunch with a good assortment of tasty food including salads and hot dishes and a great choice of desserts. On the boat ride back, our guide told us more information about the different buildings and sites we passed on the river. It was a really wonderful experience and I would recommend it to anyone that was going to Bangkok. Thanks to the staff at I Asia Thailand who were amazing.
Nice very well organized trip with good guide and good selection of places to see.The river cruise was a great way to end the tour and was relaxing along.
Ayutthaya, the old capital city of Thailand is a magnificent place to visit. Full of preserved ruins, the place is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The guides were very helpful and friendly. overall a great day spent looking at the ruins. The highlight of the day was the Bang Pa In royal palace. 46 acres of Royal opulence at its best and the relaxing river trip back to Bangkok. The food was excellent! I highly recommended this trip.
This is a perfect tour to get a quick overview of Ayutthaya, the ruins and the summer palace. Time is enough in Ayutthaya at the sites with the guide explaining the ruins during the morning. She was very informative. We then took the boat cruise too. The food on the boat tour was excellent. The boat tour itself was worth the whole tour alone. It was amazing to see all the houses, buildings and Buddha’s along the river. The view coming into Bangkok was gorgeous from the boat.
I can not recommend this tour enough. It may be an early start but it was well worth it. Great guide, very informative. The only let down was other members of the group not sticking to timings. The buffet on the boat cruise was amazing. There was a great selection of delicious Thai foods on board. We also booked the electric airport transfer with I Asia on arrival which was excellent
We booked a group tour with viator and didn’t like the rush rush way of visittingthe site, have the impression we missed a good deal. The city has more to offer than just the few ruins we saw and the summer palace. Of course, this has to do with the time it takes to drive around... cruise and lunch on the boat was nice
This tour was informative. Leant about the war between Siam and Burma and the downfall of Ayuthaya. The palace grounds were huge. The highlight was definitely the amazing Buddha Head in the Bodhi Tree. The type of tree that he actually meditated under.
After booking, they contacted me to demand an extra $9 because “your hotel is outside of the central area”, which was a lie. They later admitted in writing that this violated the terms of service. We were gone 11 hours; 2.5 hours were spent sightseeing and about 2 hours were spent on the cruise. 6.5 hours were spent driving or just waiting. Unbelievably, we were in the ruins for only 30 minutes. The tour guide, Jom, spoke very poor English, but never shut up, repeating herself over and over about the tiniest details. Several times during lunch, I asked her to give us some peace, but she ignored my request, at one point telling us the name of a prison four times. She had no problem walking away from us without warning or being late to meeting points, oblivious to our concerns about becoming lost in rural Thailand. My wife said, “This is the worst day of my life.”
Thoroughly enjoyed the day. Saw everything that I expected and the lunch and river cruise return was a nice way to see Bangkok. If you’re short on time but still want to see this site this tour is a great way to do so. Good value.
This tour is good as you see some of rural Thailand. We visited some good temples and ruins and learned a lot of history from our guide. Our guide was very informative and had a good sense of humour! The river cruise was a good way to finish the day. Very relaxing. Our only negative was the driver who took us back to our hotel. He didn’t know where he was going and spoke no English so we couldn’t help direct him. Viatour should be aware who they use as drivers.
This was a good day trip from Bangkok. We wish that they did not pack the bus too much. We sat all the way in the back and the seat kept moving making the trip uncomfortable at times. The lunch was good and the boat trip back was relaxing. We were very disappointed with the guide, Jom as we can barely understand what she was saying because she had the mike so close to her mouth. Overall, the trip was ok but could've been better with the two points mentioned above.
Qualifizierter Guide. Man bekommt was man gebucht hat.
Merci !!
Unfortunately, the tour did not meet our expectations. With a rickety, old bus (no boat) and the air conditioning to minus 10 degrees we first chugged towards Ayuttaya. There we were exposed consecutively at 3 temples for 30-50 minutes and could look around. Our guide, a slightly older gentleman, tried very hard, but unfortunately his English was almost incomprehensible. After Ayuttaya we visited Bang Pan to be shipped back to Bangkok together with several other bus tours. This was the promised cruise, where there was a buffet in the quality of an 0815 China restaurant. Overall Ayuttaya is worth a trip, but we would not book this tour again.
