A brilliant tour with the lovely and very knowledgeable Ms Mee. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know a new part of Bangkok. The tour consisted of a meet by the Skytrain station; an exploration of the amazing flower market with some lovely street food en route; we then boarded a long rail boat to explore the canals of Thon Buri with a stop at the artists house and market nearby before returning as the sun set to the river express station. Ms Mee was very friendly and knowledgeable; she took time to show us around and took some lovely photos of us at the same time. Excellent value and highly recommended.

Pak Klong Talad (Flowers & Vegetables Market), It is known mostly as a wholesale flower market serving everyone from flower vendors to florists, but it also has a good selection of fresh vegetables. This is a perfect to observe the local lifestyle and taste some local foods
The Chao Phraya is the major river in Thailand, with its low alluvial plain forming the center of the country. It flows through Bangkok and then into the Gulf of Thailand
SUNSET at Wat Arun (the Temple of Dawn) is an important landmark located on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River. The main shrine, decorated with glazed ornaments and ceramics, rises 67 meters towards the heavens. Built during the beginning of King Taksin era, the magnificent temple reflects the glory of the Thai culture. The highest Prang in Thailand symbolizing Hindu-Buddhist cosmology
Along the canal you can find traditional wooden houses, old temples, and local life, showing what Bangkok was like before roads became dominant
This museum houses actual historic royal barges, not replicas — including famous ones like the Suphannahong (Golden Swan) and Narai Song Suban — beautifully decorated with carved teak wood, gold leaf, and mythological figures.
The temple is famed for having the largest swan boat chapel in the world

Great tour. Ms Joy was lovely and took such good care of us along with providing lots of information on the local area and places we visited. Would recommend this for anyone wanting to see more of Bangkok.
Joy was our travel guide and she was so kind, helpful and just a great guide for us. The tour was perfect, it was great to see some of the canals of Bangkok, try some street food, visit some local artists and see some temples and buddhas from the water. It was a little touch and go, as it started pouring down rain while we were in the flower market, but it cleared up and we were still able to take the longboat across the river and into the canals. I would highly recommend Joy, she was on time, flexible and wanted to make sure we had a good time.
A great, personalised, fun way to experience local life in the Bangkok canals. Our guide, Nutty, was tremendous, full of fun facts and a great photographer too! Recommended!!
We loved this tour. Our host Joy really was fantastic, the rendezvous was easy and communication leading up to the trip was really good. We didn’t fancy jumping on a group boat and this was a great option. Joy was so knowledgeable and cheerful throughout. The boat and driver were first class. I firmly believe this is the best tourist thing to do in Bangkok after many visits. Thoroughly recommended,
Perfectly organized tour. Top guide! Very warm and friendly guide. Amazing tour. Joy is a wonderful tourguide! Thank you for the great time!
This tour was great! Our guide, Alex, went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. We arrived early and he was already there, so we didn't have to wait. He welcomed us with little gifts, and got us snacks and drinks on the way to the boat. As the canal locks were open when we took the tour, we didn't have to wait and we had some time left after getting off the boat, so Alex took us to visit the nearby fresh flower and herbs markets. Aside from being attentive and kind, Alex is also very knowledgeable and has a very interesting life story. He had answers to all of our questions, and we learnt a great deal about buddhism, hinduism, and Bangkok history. Highly recommended tour!
An amazing experience! from the start to finish our tour guide Alex was brilliant such a friendly person who instantly made us feel welcome, meeting us and walking us through the beautiful flower market and buying us a flower bracelet on the way to the boat. Very knowledgable of all things any questions we had he answered fully. An added bonus was he had different thai snacks and fruits which was a great opportunity to try the different things. A lovely experience as a whole so interesting seeing all the properties along the canal and river, and stopping off to see a temple, local shops and got to feed the fish in the canal. Would recommend this massively the only downside was it went too quickly and we couldn’t bring Alex home with us! ❤️
Ms Nutty was incredible and it was fantastic to get a tour of the area from a local. Absolutely would recommend a private long tail tour with her!
We took the private option of this tour, and we were blown away by our experience. We were picked up from our hotel (which wasn't too close to where the actual canal tour started) and started learning things from our guide right from the beginning. All throughout was she knowledgeable about every question we had, and gave us interesting insights into Thai history and culture. She was very friendly and helpful, which really shaped our experience of Bangkok. So, if you can, try to go with Ms. Mee, as she is a most excellent tour guide.
This was an incredible quick trip on the Chao Praya river! My husband and I absolutely loved our tour guide, Nutty. She was very knowledgeable and taught us a lot about Bangkok and Thai culture that we likely would not have learned otherwise. Additionally, she took us to some cool hidden gems in the city, and she gave us great restaurant recommendations. This is a great option for a trip if you are in Bangkok for a short time and want to build in some other experiences as well.
My husband and I had an amazing experience with our tour guide, Nutty. She was extremely knowledgeable and taught us a lot about Bangkok and Thai culture that we couldn’t learn from our guidebook. I highly recommend this tour if you’re looking for a quick trip on the river!
We booked the 4 hour canal trip. Joy was our guide. We initially booed a private tour for 2 then increased to 5 then to 8 and by the morning of the tour we had grown to 11. Joy and TJ from Chob Canal Tour Bangkok were quick and easy to accommodate changes. Joy is a wonderful guide. She is very knowledgeable about Thailand and about the sights on this tour. She shares her knowledge with laughter and cheerfulness. She enlivened our group (who were all tired from just flying to Thailand from the USA). The sites along the river and then canal are wonderful. We fed the catfish and visited the beautiful orchid gardens, and visited the Artist’s house Community where Joy treated us to coconut ice cream and various grilled and fried treats. She even brought us baked sweet potato dumplings made by her sister. Every person in our group enjoyed the tour and fell in love with Joy. We highly recommend this company and this guide and the canal tour.
We had a wonderful time. Our guide, Joy, was very knowledgeable and had a pleasant personality, living up to her name. We particularly appreciated accommodations she made for some in our group that had physical limitations.
The canal tour was easily our favourite part of our time in Bangkok. It was refreshing to get out of the tourist hotspots, and into the lesser known areas where we could see how the locals live. Our guide, Joy, made that possible. She was the best possible guide we could have asked for. She was warm and welcoming from the start. She was very accommodating with the itinerary that we requested, and she was a wealth of knowledge. I didn’t expect to learn so much about Bangkok’s history. Thank you Joy for an amazing day!
Booked a Canal Tour at very short notice, they managed to accommodate within a couple of hours and the tour guide was super! Recommended
Kh Joy was a great guide and we really enjoyed seeing this part of Bangkok by private boat and with her knowledge of the area. We were two adults, two children and loved the artists house, orchid farm, eating fried banana bought off the boats and the giant Buddha. She was accomodating making some changes to the day so we could also see Wat Arun and the reclining Buddha after lunch on the river. A top day out!
***** 5 out of 5 stars for our tour guide Aom! Our private canal tour in Bangkok with tour guide Aom was above and beyond in every way. She was knowledgeable, friendly, passionate, funny, and our whole group enjoyed her warm personality. The overall tour was very interesting, and we absolutely recommend this tour with Aom as your guide!
Alex is a perfect tour guide and I can say that because I am one of myself with bicycle tours in South Africa. Flexibilty, his kindness and humor were beyond. Anytime, anyhow we would go agin with them. Highly recommended. Uli and Gail from Cape Town, South Africa
This was an excellent way to explore the city from an insider's perspective. Ms Aom was a kind and gracious guide to me and my mother. She met us at our hotel lobby and laid out our itinerary. As we walked to the Sky Train we chatted and got to know one another. After the Sky Train we walked through a few Temples, fed the fish in the canal, and visited an enormous Golden Buddha. Ms Aom shared a little history and trivia but kept it fun and casual yet informative. She even gave us lotus flowers and showed us how to fold the petals inward before offering them to the Buddha. Then we got on a private long boat and motored through the canals to the Artists House. During the boat ride she pointed out a few things but mostly left us to enjoy the beautiful scenery. She got us fresh juice and snacks at the Artists House while pointing out all the adorable details that would otherwise be overlooked. We then took another boat through the canals out to the river where we ported at a waterside, multi-storied restaurant. She set us up at a rooftop table, ordered us snacks and beverages, and then left us to enjoy the sunset. After the sun went down she escorted us onto a local bus back to our hotel. Throughout the tour she discreetly took photos and then sent them to us after the trip!! Once we were back stateside we loved being able to relive our afternoon in Bangkok with Ms Aom through all the pictures she snapped. She was really excellent at reading her audience and giving us exactly the tour we wanted. Highly recommend!!
Do not book here! we should have a nice boat tour with private gite for 1,5 hrs first they did not come, after 3 times calling a guide came, much too late. we went on the boat and the guide did not inform us at all. in 45 minutes we were back. guide told us than that she only could speak German. we as Dutch can speak German as well but we prefer English. So book at a proper place lake Co van Kessel where we had a tour the day after.
Pe was our tour guide, very friendly and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend. The tour lasted 4 hours, which included a stop for lunch at an art gallery. Other stops included an orchid farm and the flower market.
Had the most amazing trip with Ms Joy. She was so knowledgeable and friendly - a real pleasure to be with. The trip was fantastic from start to finish. Ms Joy met us at the hotel and guided us to our boat. We then went up the river and diverted off to the canal. The boat ride was great going through the loch and then powering along the canal looking at the different houses and buildings on the riverside. Places you would only see on a tour like this. We also went to a local food market which was enormous and visited an orchid farm - such lovely experiences. We finished off at a temple before at our request the boat dropped us off at Wat Arun to visit this and Wat Pho under our own steam. A truly unforgettable experience Ms Joy. PS thank you for our gifts (the food was delicious). I would certainly recommend this trip.
Our lovely guide Thim Thim met us at our hotel and arranged transport for us to the pier. She provided good care and helpful guidance throughout. Her English was excellent which we really appreciated and the long tail boat captain was a master maneuvering through the canals! At the market, (fyi its not a floating market but one that is accessible by boat), Thim Thim provided unique snacks and drinks of Thailand, which was a really nice touch. You could also buy lunch there. Not much opportunity to shop there but this tour is really meant to site see the unique homes along the canal and observe how the communities live on the canal system. We stopped at a small orchid farm and an Artist house community, which was really cool and interesting. I would definitely recommend this tour. They accomodated us last minute, they are easy to communicate with over telephone and whatsapp. Thim Thim made sure we got to the next destination (icon siam mall) safely and showed us how to get back to our hotel safely. She went above and beyond and made our day so special!
As we had just one full day in Bangkok, and had been here before, we were looking for something slightly different so we pre-booked this tour. The cost may seem high compared to others but when you consider that you are picked up at your hotel and dropped back and that you have the boat exclusively, it is a superb way to see the city from another angle. Our guide, Joy, was excellent. She was very welcoming and knowledgeable plus her English is very good so we were able to learn a lot about the city and the people. So, highly recommended and a memorable experience.
Fantastic trip with our private tour guide Joy! We travel a lot and usually prefer to do sightseeing on our own but this time we had a tight schedule so we decided to go with this arrangement. And we certainly didn’t regret it! We saw so much more than we expected and learned a lot about Thai culture on our trip. Joy was very pleasant company and was eager to share her knowledge about the sights we passed by. We recommend the trip and found it to be value for money (6,600 THB for 2 adults and 2 kids).
Ms Joy looked after our group in wonderful fashion. She took us to a great bar/restaurant in one of the Klongs. It was eye-opening to see the waterways and this whole area of Bangkok.
There is nothing much new to do on Mondays after 10 years visiting Bangkok. We decided to go back to canals. Glad we did because Ms Joy certainly made the Day! Flexible, informative and caring lazy Monday. Worth of every baht
Visually interesting and colorful. Diverse architecture; mini komoto bra gone sunning themselves on the banks. Beautiful wood boats.
An eye opener to see the canals and the contraptions lining the canals. Experience it once but at your own risk. The water is unfortunately very polluted.
We took this tour which also included the Temple of Dawn stop and the Jim Thomson museum. This combination covers major attractions in Bangkok, and I highly recommend that every tourist took advantage of it. The canals show you real life of this exotic city, with the mix of poverty and wealth. The temple of Dawn is eye popping, a real architectural masterpiece, and the Jim Thompson museum tells a life story of the most unusual personality, an American millionaire, who built a silk empire and disappeared in the jungles without any trace in the 1960's. The tour was very educational, many interesting things to see and think of afterword's. Don't miss.
A wonderful day! Our guide was adorable and very professional, and we loved discovering a different and authentic Bangkok.
We have been to Bangkok several times and have seen and experienced a lot, so we thought we would not discover so much new. But Joy showed us an incredible number of new sides of the city and gave us so much joy. It was like a good friend showing us her favorite corners and the best snacks at the same time. Joy has really lived up to her name and we can only advise you to join this tour. It is definitely worth it!
pure sales tour with no real highlight, you don't have to see ! Once and not again. To the agreed costs are again added the double costs.
We paid 3 times the normal price so said for a 1h30 ride. After 50 min , get off the boat and pay for the Buddha lying down while the entrance was included in the package. In short, mediocre, dirty, really not up to what is proposed. Distrust
It was a wonderful idea to do this excursion, the canals we walked are fascinating with views that look like paintings, sometimes watercolors and other surreal landscapes, but all enchanting!
