The most disappointing The Quarter hotel I have stayed at – one star Having previously enjoyed good experiences at other The Quarter hotels, I arrived with similarly positive expectations. The lobby and pool area initially appear attractive, but my room presented a completely different picture. The room was extremely dark and, to me, felt almost like a bunker. The only small window resembled a hatch and looked directly onto a wall or part of the building immediately outside. As a result, virtually no natural daylight entered the room. The dark colour scheme and visibly dated furnishings made the atmosphere feel even more oppressive. My attached photos show the actual lighting conditions and the view from the window. The most disappointing aspect, however, was the way I was treated when I became ill during my stay and had to remain in my room. Despite having its own restaurant, the hotel was unable to provide either plain boiled potatoes or simple pasta without sauce, oil or seasoning. Even after several telephone calls, this very basic request could apparently not be arranged. When I asked for a thermometer, I was told that the hotel could not provide one. I can understand that there may be hygiene-related reasons for this. What I cannot understand is why no alternative or practical assistance was offered—for example, having a staff member check my temperature or helping me obtain a thermometer. Instead, I was simply advised to order something from 7-Eleven. Naturally, I did not expect the hotel to provide medical treatment. However, in such a situation, I would expect a service-oriented hotel to demonstrate at least some initiative, consideration and basic human support. Moments like these reveal what genuine hospitality truly means. The breakfast was also disappointing. Although the buffet area appeared clean at first glance, the cheese and eggs in particular did not taste fresh to me and had an unpleasantly stale flavour. I cannot and do not wish to speculate about the storage conditions or the cause; I am describing only my own sensory impression. Of all The Quarter hotels I have stayed at, this was by far my most disappointing experience. A dark, bunker-like room with virtually no daylight, combined with a level of service that failed to find solutions even for the simplest requests, did not meet my expectations of this hotel brand. For this stay, I can unfortunately award only one star.

We stayed at this hotel for a few nights and found it to be decent overall, although it did not quite meet our expectations for a 4-star property. The rooms were clean and well maintained. Our room had a window with a nice city view, which made the stay more enjoyable. However, some of the rooms at the back of the hotel only have a small window facing a wall, making them feel quite dark and enclosed. If possible, I would recommend requesting a room with a city view. The staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help. Check-in and communication were smooth throughout our stay. The breakfast mainly consisted of local cuisine. While this may be appealing to guests looking for an authentic local experience, we personally found the selection somewhat limited because we prefer more international breakfast options. The location is in a busy, business-oriented area. On the positive side, it is conveniently located near Chinatown, Wat Pho, Wat Phra Kaew, and the Grand Palace. The airport is approximately 45 minutes away, although travel time can vary depending on traffic conditions. One interesting feature is that the lobby is located on the 12th floor and is accessed by the elevator. Guest rooms are located on floors 6–11 and are served by separate elevators. Overall, while the hotel may not fully match the standard expected of a 4-star hotel, it offers reasonable value for money, especially considering its location and the helpful staff.
I’ve stayed in multiple hotels throughout Bangkok, and unfortunately this was probably the worst experience I’ve had. The building feels very old, and the rooms had a strong damp, musty smell that made the stay uncomfortable. I personally started feeling sick shortly after staying here, although I can’t say for certain what caused it. The room also didn’t feel as clean as I expected for the price. One of the biggest disappointments was the rooftop viewing area. While the city view at night is nice, I saw rats crawling around the seating area where guests were sitting, relaxing, and smoking, which was very off-putting. Overall, I don’t feel this hotel offers good value for the price they charge. There are many better options in Bangkok that are cleaner, better maintained, and provide a much more enjoyable stay.
The hotel was nice. But there is a lot of humidity and humidity in very stuffy rooms. Because of this, odour occurs. When we arrived at the hotel, we didn’t pay for water. They always gave it to us at the reception. However, although there was no sign or menu anywhere in the restaurant, we paid 80 baht for water. This is seriously unbelievable. This is literally screwing tourists. They took the price from us, which is not on the menu or elsewhere. They didn’t bring any receipts until we drank the water. The mouth of the water opened and they immediately ran and brought a receipt. That was incredible. I don’t recommend the hotel.
Great place on the very edge of Chinatown that offers clean affordable rooms and great service. A 3 minutes walk to the mrt and steps from Yaowarat Rd, Song Wat Rd and Talat Noi. It has a great pool and west facing view deck overlooking a temple and Chinatown as well as great city views. The staff are super helpful and there are many to help. The rooms are dated and in need of upgrades but they are clean, well kept and spacious. I recommend a room with the city views. Since Chinatown is my favourite part of Bangkok we'll be back!
