Unfortunately, our stay at Metropole, Bangkok, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel was quite disappointing and did not live up to what we expected from a property positioning itself as a luxury hotel. One of the first things we noticed was the lack of warmth from the staff. There was rarely any greeting or acknowledgement when entering or leaving the hotel, and even staff at the reception desk often did not say hello. It made the overall atmosphere feel rather unwelcoming, which is especially surprising for a hotel that considers itself a luxury property. There also seemed to be a noticeable lack of staff during the daytime, when the property is primarily functioning as a hotel. Interestingly, there appeared to be considerably more staff around at night when the club at the hotel was operating. As hotel guests, this gave us the impression that the daytime hotel operation was somewhat secondary. Noise was another major issue. If you value peace and quiet, I would think twice before staying here. We were on the 4th floor and could still clearly hear music from the club until almost 4 a.m. It was very difficult to get a proper night's sleep, and this is something guests should be aware of before booking. The condition of the room also did not reflect what I would consider a luxury standard. Much of the furniture looked dated and poorly maintained, with visible wear and tears in places. There was a microwave in our room, but when we opened it, there was visible rust inside, which made us uncomfortable using it. The room also has a kitchenette, which in theory is a useful feature for preparing something simple. However, there were no basic kitchen items provided — no plates, utensils, pots or pans — making the kitchenette rather pointless unless guests bring their own kitchenware. Breakfast was another letdown. The selection was quite limited, and items were not replenished frequently enough. The overall quality of the food was also below what we would expect from a hotel in this category. What was particularly frustrating was the waiting time. On several occasions, service was slow despite there being only a small number of guests at breakfast, so it was difficult to understand why things took so long. Overall, the combination of indifferent service, insufficient daytime staffing, late-night noise, poorly maintained room facilities and a disappointing breakfast made our stay far from what we expected. There seems to be a significant gap between how this property presents itself and the actual guest experience we had. Perhaps the biggest issue is that the property needs to decide what it wants to be: a hotel that prioritizes the comfort and experience of its overnight guests, or a nightclub with hotel rooms attached. At the moment, it feels as though it is trying to be both, but unfortunately the hotel guests are the ones who seem to be making the compromise. For a property positioning itself as a luxury hotel, we expected much better standards of hospitality, maintenance, food quality and, above all, consideration for guests who are there to stay and sleep. Unfortunately, based on our experience, it is difficult to recommend this hotel, particularly to anyone looking for a quiet and genuinely upscale stay in Bangkok.

A great value stay in a very convenient location right next to Bangkok Hospital. The room was clean and comfort, especially considering the reasonable price. The staff were professional, helpful, and provided excellent service throughout the stay. Overall, a pleasant and convenient choice!
The hotel was very clean and attempted to details. The room was nice, cozy, clean and quiet. Everyone was attentive to your needs. Special thanks to Tai was polite and gave me excellent service. See you the next time I'm in Thailand. I wish the staff best wishes.
Stayed at Metropole Bangkok recently and had a really smooth experience. The place feels calm and well-kept, and the room was clean and comfortable enough to fully relax. What I appreciated most was the service. The staffs were approachable, quick to respond, and paid attention to small details without being over the top. It made the whole stay feel easy and stress-free. Would come back again. 😊
I recently stayed at Metropole Bangkok, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, and what stood out most to me was the concept and design of the property. The hotel is inspired by the story of Martin and Meiying, imagined travelers who collected art and antiques from around the world. This idea is reflected throughout the space, from the lobby to the corridors and suites, giving the hotel a distinct identity that feels more like a curated residence than a typical hotel. The design blends 1920s Shanghai elegance with Siamese craftsmanship, with rich wood textures, vintage elements, and warm lighting that create a unique and atmospheric setting. It’s a place that feels thoughtful and visually interesting, especially for those who appreciate art, heritage, and interior design. The suite itself is spacious and designed in a residential style, with a separate living area, bedroom, and kitchenette, making it comfortable for longer stays. In terms of experience, the hotel may appeal more to guests who value design and character rather than traditional luxury service. It’s not for everyone, but for those who enjoy vintage aesthetics and a strong sense of story, it offers something quite different in Bangkok.
